There were few things creepier than abandoned amusement parks in Osiris' experience. Half finished mechanics served as testament to the wasted potential much of mankind had, and the overgrown vegetation showed nature's own perseverance. As it stepped through the barbed wire fencing onto the grounds, it was intrigued by the fact someone would choose to live in this area, or at the very least operate out of it. It was far from the usual sort of hideout that it would have expected, given its lack of infrastructure. ...or was there...? With a tilt of its head, Osiris would head towards one of the larger buildings that still remained. In the end, this was where the super with portals had directed Osiris, so this was where it would search for one of these "Keepers". Sin Eater

Even if Unhallow had moved on, Sin Eater rather enjoyed the ambiance of HappyWorld for its own sake. She was resting in one of the upper carriages of the Ferris wheel when her power detected the approach of something very... interesting.
It took her a few moments to decide how to respond. Normally, she'd wait for the intruder to stumble upon Unhallow, and then that would be her entertainment for the night. With Unhallow gone, it fell on Sin Eater to make the first move.
That said, the absence of Unhallow's decaying power also presented some novel options.
Sin Eater drew upon her own power, causing cuts and bruises to spread across her body. In response, the machinery filling the amusement park began to recover from its years of decay and disuse. Severed wires knitted themselves back together, crumbling engines were reassembled, rusted hinges returned to working order. The diesel generator that had powered the amusement park began rumbling once again, and for the first time in quite awhile, the lights at HappyWorld turned on.
The rides began moving as well, including the Ferris wheel upon which Sin Eater rode, going through the motions regardless of the lack of occupants. The grime and rust on the outsides of the rides was left in place, lending an even more unnatural appearance to the sudden return to activity. Nearby loudspeakers throughout the park played half a dozen discordant carnival tunes.
The action was all centered around the intruder, leaving no doubt as to who the show was intended for.

If Osiris had visible eyes, they would be widening at this very moment.
While it had expected some measure of security or wards against unwanted visitors, the sudden flare of activity was enough to cause the metallic figure to step back in alarm, turning quickly. The noise was disconcerting, and it would be clear from the rather frantic motions of turning and glancing around that Osiris was far from comfortable in this situation.
“I ask for an audience, not hostilities.”
Osiris would call out, even as it clenched its hands into fists. It wasn’t afraid, per se, but it was certainly on guard. In fairness, it was somewhat paranoid considering the portal-using super’s words, and wanted to get its intentions across before things went awry.

Sin Eater smirked to herself. An audience was all well and good, but there was no need for it to be mutually exclusive with hostilities. From within the Ferris wheel carriage, she continued to exert her power.
More loudspeakers across the park were set up to pipe in sounds of merriment in order to subtly encourage parkgoers to join in. Canned laughter at a stage where a clown would perform, wild cheering at another stage where performers demonstrated feats of strength and skill, screams from some of the more exciting rides. Sin Eater felt her body go numb and limp as her nerves severed themselves to repair the park's wiring.
And then she switched to using her power's complementary function. One of the rides she had reactivated was a pendulum-like contraption that swung several passengers around in a wide arc. In mid-swing, Sin Eater returned the damage she had absorbed from the bolts holding the pod at the end of the pendulum in place.
With a loud screech, the pod tore off, tumbling end-over-end as it flew directly toward the intruder.

Laughter.
Laughter was enough to cause a drastic shift in Osiris’ mood. It had come here on what could be considered its best behavior, yet it seemed to go unappreciated. The rising cacophony of noise set Osiris into a more defensive attitude, and its hands began to glow softly with a dim light.
The screech was enough to catch the metallic figure’s attention, and it spun to face the pod heading towards it. There was enough time to dodge, of that Osiris was certain, and it was fairly certain it would survive being struck by the massive object. However, it wanted to send a different message.
Both hands would lift up, and beams would slam into the pod, punching through the metal and blasting a hole for it to pass through. Once it strode through the ruins, it would then start firing in random directions, aiming for machinery and the park in general. The beams would be relatively small, but concentrated in an attempt to essentially disintegrate their targets and leave nothing to be repaired.
If this Sin Eater wanted to play games, Osiris would respond in kind.

The sudden flurry of destruction through the park set Sin Eater's power buzzing. She struggled up to her feet, looking down below with sudden interest. She hadn't expected the intruder to simply stand there to be hit by the attack, at least not without a power that would render such a hit irrelevant. However, she hadn't expected such a spectacular counterattack, either.
The Ferris wheel's reactivation had brought Sin Eater's carriage to the very top. Before it had time to come down again, the support scaffolding was struck by the intruder's beams, causing the wheel to tip over. Its crash threw up a plume of dust that rose above the destruction, giving way to a pile of twisted metal.
Gradually, the amusement park returned to silence and stillness. Sin Eater was returning the damage that she had taken onto herself. She stood up from the wreckage of the Ferris wheel, but not all of her was there - the crushing debris had sheared off her left arm at the shoulder, and as the damage had been done directly to Sin Eater herself, there was nowhere for her to return it to.
The bloodspatter across her face was broken by a wide grin.
"Impressive! You're a rather straightforward one, aren't you?"

Osiris looked up when the Ferris wheel collapsed, and stepped back bit by bit. It wasn't quite sure what to make of the fact the park had gone silent, and would turn to look at the debris, hunting for any sign of movement or further hostility.
It turned at the sound of the girl standing, lifting a glowing hand towards her in a clear threat, but the state she was in keeps it from firing.
"...I see no use in playing games. However..."
It tilts its head slowly.
"You are.... greatly wounded."

Sin Eater's grin didn't falter. "Don't tell me you're feeling buyer's remorse. You knew what consequences you might bring by opening fire here. Not everyone can be made of metal."
Her tone was more playful than accusatory. The pain exploding through her shoulder would've been enough to make her pass out, once upon a time, but now it was practically routine.
"In any case, it's not so grim as it looks. Within a couple of minutes, the bleeding will have slowed to a trickle. Within an hour, the limb will be regrown and fully functional. Within a week, not even the sharpest sensory power will be able to tell you that I was ever hurt in the first place."
An audience, it had requested. Sin Eater was still feeling out just how seriously she wanted to take this, but for the time being, this robotic form had earned her interest. She regarded it without any apparent concern as they spoke.

"You are immortal, then?"
If anything, it was relieved. Had she been injured beyond repair, it would have had a time limit to get what information it could before she died, something it was not confident in its ability to do so.
It needed to be more careful.
"I envy your power of regeneration. You are the one named Sin Eater, yes? I was told you were the one to come to for information."

Sin Eater nodded in acknowledgement. "The longest I've ever stayed dead was a little over ten minutes. An industrial emulsifier and hermetically-sealed cans were involved. If there's a way to permanently stop me from coming back... Well, I obviously haven't found it yet!"
Her tone was light and joking. There didn't seem to be any hard feelings.
"An opportunity to exchange information is always welcome. You've already shown me something interesting tonight, so I might be inclined toward generosity. What sort of information do you seek?"

It was becoming increasingly aware that this woman could be certifiably insane.
The fact that she couldn't die would certainly be damaging enough to one's psyche, but judging from her words, it was very likely she'd suffered some horrific deaths in her past already. Osiris would need to keep this information in mind during its meeting.
"Information on dragons."
It said simply.
"I wish to know everything about dragons."

The intruder's words made Sin Eater's smile grow wider, lending it a distinctly deranged appearance.
"Oh, so that's why you're here. I see. Well, you've come to the right place. We Keepers take quite an interest in dragons, and we're more active here than in most cities."
She began to pace atop the pile of twisted metal that had been the Ferris wheel as she spoke. True to her prediction, the skin on her missing arm was already beginning to reseal itself around the stump.
"Of course you probably already know that there are very few general traits that can be applied to all dragons. They come in different sizes, different shapes, different appearances, and with vastly different powers. All are strong, but some are a great deal stronger than others. Their greatest universal similarity is their murderous behavior.
"Don't feel too bad about missing the previous attack, though. Its culprit was rather weak and rather dull, as far as dragons go. For all its spacetime manipulation, its attacks mostly boiled down to crushing, burning, and tearing apart its victims. Perhaps the next one will be more interesting. We do have some intelligence that suggests it will be coming... rather soon, in fact."
Sin Eater stopped pacing and tilted her head to the side in an inquisitive gesture.
"But before saying anything more, I feel I must ask... Why do you want so badly to know everything about dragons in the first place?"

If it weren't for the information, Osiris would have left at that smile alone.
Instead, it would continue to watch Sin Eater as she paces, both as it recorded every single bit of data for further use, as well as taking particular interest in the speed of her recovery for future reference. The mention of another dragon attack caused it to clench and unfurl its hands in anticipation, almost quivering with excitement.
"The dragon is coming soon..."
It whispered to itself, though it would likely be overheard given their close proximity. Her question would snap it out of its introspection, however, cutting off any further involuntary commentary.
"Dragons are evidently quite powerful, as they are above us in the same manner as we are above normal humans. There are so many mysteries surrounding them, despite the fact that they are not a new occurrence. Their capabilities, the reasons behind their violent behavior and what makes them choose where to surface... they're truly wonderful."

Sin Eater was watching this entity's reactions with keen interest. Once again, she was taken by surprise. People who held some sort of personal grude against dragons - as though such a grudge could ever be meaningful - were a dime a dozen. Those who held some sort of reverence for dragons weren't unheard of, but they were rather less common.
Her eyes narrowed, though her smile remained plastered on. "Be careful who you say that around. Supers tend to hate dragons, especially after a recent attack. Say something resembling a compliment regarding a dragon in earshot of the wrong super, and you might have a fight on your hands. And if you try to stop the city's supers from fending off a dragon attack, then I'm afraid it won't even be a fight."
Sin Eater pointedly avoided mentioning her own feelings on the subject. They weren't something to be discussed lightly, even if her present audience was unlikely to judge her too harshly for them.

Osiris nodded at the first comment. While it didn't particularly fear any super thus far, it would certainly be a pain if it were to be ambushed simply for saying the wrong thing. It would indeed be somewhat more cautious than it had been already.
However, as Sin Eater continued, the metallic shell where a face should be would have smiled if it could have.
"Stop them from fending off a dragon? You must be joking."
It shakes its head slowly.
"No. Any dragon that requires help from the likes of me barely deserves the title alone, much less deserves that assistance. Its only worth would be studying its corpse."
