Achlys tugged a little at the legs of her bodysuit, trying to adjust for comfort as she walked between the old trains. A quick glance over her shoulder as she did so made sure that no one would see her do it. She was still new to the whole costumed vigilante gig so the chaffing tights was something she didn’t particularly have much experience with. That was to say, she knew that no one should really be seeing her out and about in her hero garb - aware of what panic that would cause. But still… she didn’t want to give any hypothetical person the impression that she was an amateur and as such she should only do such adjustments when she was positive no one else was around. Besides, she wasn’t too concerned with being caught as she was well equipped to deal with it if it came to it. Thank goodness it was dark.
It was a late Tuesday evening and she had just headed into the old trainyard. The story she’d heard was that there was some sort of deal going down tonight, could have been drugs, could have been weapons. The specifics weren’t clear and it could have just been hearsay but she thought it was better to check it out just in case. She couldn’t deny that being the one to thwart a gang deal would be pretty darn cool, and she allowed herself a premature smile.
A loud creaking from somewhere caused Achlys to freeze, only for a moment, before continuing picking her way through the trains with hunched posture.
Don’t freak out, this is fine! This is perfectly fine. It’s just the wind, you’ve got this.
Biting her lip she allowed herself the thought that she was glad no one was around to see her like this. Her internal pep talk seemed to bolster her a little and she straightened up, keeping an eye out for any unscrupulous activity. That was it bolstered her until a shrill screech reminiscent of grinding rusted metal startled her again.
She quickly spun around to see the cause of the noise behind her, she was low and hunched again.

RPG adjusted his paper bag mask, seeing that it was a bit out of place on his head. Honestly, he believed that his attire was quite a good fit for him. Its convenience and versatility really helped with his powers, which people wouldn't be able to guess too easily. It was on nightly crime-fighting runs such as this one that he knew his costume had to be able to accommodate for his powers and make civilians believe that he wasn't a super at first glance. One day, RPG hopes that he could become a pillar of hope for the civilians. Albeit, that day probably wouldn't be today, seeing as how he was still somewhat new and unknown.
RPG came to the trainyard to rest up for a little while before continuing on to fight more crime. From his position, a creaking noise could be heard from another aisle of trains. Aw darn, I hope that's not someone I have to fight. He walked around for a little, looking for somewhere to sit. He decided to open one of the sides of the cargo trains, which had signs of rust. He pulled at the handle of the sliding door, which made a shrill screech as it was being opened. Hope nobody heard that. It didn't seem as if anyone was there, but he never had the best detection skills without help from his powers.
RPG sat down on the ledge of the cargo train and stared at his dark surroundings. He looked around the dark trainyard and gazed at the night sky before becoming lost in his thoughts.

Achlys stood frozen for a moment, her eyes darting around her to see if she could catch a glimpse of what made the noise. With a glance back over her shoulder in the direction she had been heading in, she screwed up her nose. Well, whatever it was that was in the trainyard with her, it certainly wasn’t over that way.
Composing herself, the dark figure straightened herself up once more and patted down her hair.
“There’s no need to be scared. This is what you’re here for remember” she told herself quietly as she went to investigate the screeching.
She started calculating some sort of plan in her head as she made her way towards where she thought the noise came from. Now, if it were a gang she would certainly be able to hear them if she came close enough so she would have to be careful. Then again, it could have just been nothing. Perhaps the wind whipping through the trains? But back to the gangs… They could have weapons - she’d have to disarm them somehow. It would be difficult especially if there was more than one.
This line of thought continued as Achlys delicately picked her way over the tracks, careful not to trip over any of the debris or rocks scattered at her feet. She made sure to glance over her shoulder as she went, eager not to be surprised again.
As she got closer to one of the old cargo trains she slowed down, her eyes squinting to try and make out what she thought she saw. Was it a person? She… wasn’t quite sure. A few more steps forward and she could make out some sort of silhouette.
It was a person alright, they were perched at the end of a ledge on the train, that much she could make out. It could have just been a vagrant? They didn’t look like they were up to anything suspicious. Just sitting… Moving closer still Achlys couldn’t help but notice the dark shape seemed to have a squared off head. That was weird.
There was just something a little peculiar about the mysterious figure, and this wasn’t exactly a prime sitting down hotspot. Not on the same night she heard there was to be shady goings on!
Moving slowly she hunched down and picked up one of the bricks she’d avoided tripping over and she made her way towards the person perched on the train, trying to stay out of sight and coming up on their left side.
“H-hey!” She called out in an unsteady voice. She was a few feet away from them now. “Hey you!” she called again reinforcing her first shout. The brick was was primed in her right hand as she held it tightly, looking a tad less superheroine-y than she would have hoped.

RPG was lost in his thoughts yet again. People always called him a dreamer, and it definitely applies to him.
The sudden call to him made him jump a little. The old abandoned trainyard couldn't have people roaming around here this late at night. Unless... he stumbled into a bad guy? It'd be bothersome, but he shouldn't have too much trouble with this person unless if they were a super, which is a bit unlikely. No worries, then.
It was difficult to identify the person due to their dark clothing and the fact it was nighttime. Although, due to their feminine voice and seemingly feminine figure, RPG had concluded that it was indeed a female. Probably a young woman in their late teens or early twenties, he assumed. The young woman's voice seemed shaky. It might be just another scared civilian. A somewhat common emotion that supers, whether good or bad, get from citizens was fear. At least, that's how RPG saw it.
"Yeah, who's there?" RPG got off the ledge and stood facing the young woman. Upon closer inspection, it appeared she had a rectangular prism-looking thing in her right hand. From the way she was holding it to the way she spoke earlier, it seemed kind of like he was being threatened. Wait... W-wait, is that a bomb? It might explain why this woman was acting the way she was.
"Woah there! I don't want any trouble!" RPG put his hands open in front of his body. Aw geez, now this was a pain. It would've made RPG's job easier if they had a knife or something. Although, a gun might've just been as bad or even worse. What made it harder for him was that the bomb could potentially kill the user on accident. Even if they were evil, RPG knew that he just couldn't bear a death on his hands and would rather give someone another chance to redeem themselves. He had to find a way to disarm her.
"H-how about you put that down? Nobody wants to get hurt here!" Hopefully, the situation doesn't blow up. Heh.

Hearing the voice call out asking who was there made Achlys think that perhaps she had reacted incorrectly to the stranger. This thought was then confirmed by how freaked out they seemed to be by her brick. It was then that she realised that she must have looked like a madwoman.
Oh shoot! It is a civillian! I should get out of here before- wait… is that a paper bag?
“What’re you wearing on your head?” the question had left her mouth before she even realised. Her head was cocked and she was looking at the stranger curiously with a quirked brow.
Realising that she still had the brick in her hand she looked at it and then opened her hand to let it drop with an apologetic “Oh, sorry!”
It hit the side of the rail track with a dull thud before a piece of it broke off.
There was still a lingering doubt about her giving up her makeshift weapon, afterall she didn’t know who this person was and they could have been dangerous or, judging by the attire, crazy.
Maybe that was what the rumour amounted to. A crazy man with a paper bag running amuck in the trianyard.

What was he wearing on his head? His mask, of course. RPG thought it was somewhat obvious. Before he could say a word, the woman in front of him dropped the bomb. Literally.
"Careful where you're putting that thing! You know how many trains would have been destroyed? Oh, and we would have also died, too. I guess." Then the sudden realization came over RPG. "Wait a sec... That's not a bomb, is it?" It sounded very brick-like. The shape also resembled that of a brick's. It was probably a brick.
"Wow, you really scared me. Like, seriously. Haha." RPG momentarily sighed with relief.
"Oh yeah, this here's my mask. I go around fighting crime and saving people, but I don't think anyone really calls me a superhero." He was so caught up in the moment of relief that he didn't realize he was blurting out what he did without a thought.

Achlys hunched a little at being scolded, that was until she realised what she was being told off for. As the stranger spoke her eyes squinted at him and then to the brick she dropped and then back to him once more. He thought it was a bomb? She tried to shake the amused look off her face but to no avail.
"Oh, I'm sorry for scaring you... and for threatening you with a brick, uhm." She added that last part and she looked away nervously, pondering for a moment what exactly she could have done to anyone with a brick in the first place standing a good few feet away.
After hearing his declaration of heroism Achlys gave him a good once over. His costume was... interesting, to say the least. But she supposed she couldn't judge since any costume to a civilian must look quite silly.
Achlys cocked her head at him for a moment, taken in by his honesty. She found his earnest tone endearing and it put her at ease quite a bit. Even though she still hadn't found who she'd been looking for and should really have been more cautious. Yet, this was the last thing she thought she would find!
Maybe they could help me out here? Achlys thought to herself.
"Well! A hero is as good as any in my book, super or not!" She chirped happily.
She took a few steps closer to him and outstretched her hand. "I'm Achlys. I guess you could say I'm in the hero business myself. People don't really go around calling me super either" She wasn't sure if she should let on as to just how new to this she actually was. She didn't want to seem incompetent... Then again, waving a brick at someone in the dark was probably a big giveaway.

RPG took Achlys's hand and shook it somewhat vigorously.
"Well then, nice to meet you! The name's RPG. At least, that's what my superhero alias is. Even though I consider myself a hero, I'm not a part of the Bulwarks. I doubt they know who I am. Then again, not many people really do." RPG was noticeably more relaxed and definitely more talkative, but his attitude may have changed too quickly. After all, he just met this person. For all he knew, she could've been an enemy. Who would go around threatening people with bricks, anyway? His carefree and trusting nature might backfire on him someday. Probably not today, though.
"Ohhh, I get it! Your power probably revolves around bricks or something, right? Brick generation? Enhanced brick proficiency?" RPG's eyes became twinkling stars full of curiosity and wonder. "I also like your costume, it's pretty cool!" Then again, the woman's costume didn't seem very thematic with her supposed power. A touch of brick red with concrete white wouldn't hurt, would it?
Realizing he was still holding onto Achlys's hand, he quickly retracted his. "Uh, sorry about that."
"Oh yeah, in case you were wondering, my power's pretty weird." While it was easy enough to elaborate, saying it would definitely remove one of its biggest advantages, the surprise factor. "Well, it gets the job done if I'm lucky enough." Job, huh? Huuuuh... joooooob... Was there something I was supposed to be doing?
RPG had forgotten that he was supposed to be stopping crime right now.

Well this was certainly turning out to be a rather reasonable evening! Achlys smiled broadly as the newly introduced RPG shook her hand, and was then taken slightly aback by how enthusiastic a handshake it was.
"RPG? As in... the big gun?" Achlys found herself musing aloud.
He seemed very forthcoming with his information which was a little jarring. She wasn't sure if she was perhaps being led up the garden path with this one. Knowing well enough that sometimes her judgement of people on first impressions alone wasn't always the best. RPG was still shaking her hand and Achlys was brought out of her uncertain thoughts when she heard him ask if her powers were brick based.
Her expression changed immediately and she could feel her face drain of colour.
"I uhhh, heh, yeea-no. No I don't have brick generation... or enhanced proficiency" she rambled nervously once ruling out just outright lying to save face.
"You just surprised me and I uh, grabbed the closest thing to me" Suddenly she felt incredibly stupid for admitting it because it truly did sound ridiculous hearing it aloud. In the history of heroes never had she heard of anyone throwing or hitting an unsuspecting person with a brick. "Sorry about that again by the way" she said quietly.
Achlys offered a smile again when her suit was complimented and she gave her thanks. "I like yours too. It's pretty interesting!" She had to admit, it was a very interesting costume he had. "Your mask is great, wish I'd have thought of that" she chuckled.
RPG didn't elaborate what his power actually was and she was a little curious as to why he was reluctant to say. Then again, she didn't particularly feel like divulging too much information about herself either and she couldn't quite put her finger on why. "Aren't all powers pretty weird? she chuckled, happy not to pry any further.
Achlys looked over her shoulder quickly. The wind was still rattling through the abandoned cars which attested for a lot of the noise she had heard earlier, however she was still here for a reason...
I wonder if that's why he's here too?
"So are you here chasing a lead? I've kind of heard through the grapevine that something is supposed to be going down here tonight and I haven't had any luck finding anything yet... Just you" she said looking back towards her companion. It would have been great if she knew what she was supposed to be looking for and her vague description just made her feel more inept. Still, RPG said he was new to this too, so maybe he wouldn't judge her too harshly.

"Well, I just thought the name fit. I think it does." "Oh, you don't? Well then, sorry about that." RPG became a little disappointed. "Don't worry about it! I would've done the same thing if I was you. I think." "Thanks, you think so? I think my mask is pretty creative if I do say so myself." "Haha, yeah! I think all powers are pretty weird now if I think about it."
The lighthearted conversation went on for a short while, before Achlys reminded him what he was supposed to be doing.
"Dude, I totally forgot I was supposed to be fighting crime! Well, I just stopped here to rest up and relax. I don't really ever get leads, so I just go around and try to find crime to stop." An idea formed in RPG's head. "Hey, how about you and me team up? Be like a crime-fighting duo, you know?" It was probably the most sensible and obvious choice right now.
It'd be quite refreshing to RPG if he were to fight alongside another hero. He's shouldered all the burdens of doing justice and receiving negativity from the citizens all by himself. He wouldn't let go of this chance. Superhero team-ups just like the comic books he read and the shows and movies he's watched was like a dream come true.
"Since you seem like you know what you're doing, I'll follow you around! How about it, Achlys? Partners? How about we shake on it a second time?"
This time, RPG was the one who stuck his hand out. Just thinking about being able to fight with his newly-found friend Achlys made RPG slightly jittery. Even casually talking to another friendly hero made him quite talkative, all the while with a small grin under his mask. Although being a hero is supposed to be a serious job, tonight was going to be fun.

Again Achlys found herself pondering the age of RPG after he had announced he had forgotten what he had been doing before she appeared. The costume and mask certainly weren't giving anything away so she pushed the thought to the back of her mind once more. His exuberance seemed to flare up again as he suggested the team up and Achlys gave an involuntary smile.
Well he certainly has the spirit of a superhero
For a moment she contemplated his outstretched hand but couldn't see much in the way of a downside to a partnership. It was something she hadn't yet done and she supposed it could be fun. Totally serious and important business but still... fun.
"Why not!" She grinned a broad grin and enthusiastically took the hand offered to her to shake on the arrangement. "Might as well take advantage of our chance meeting" said said once she released RPG's hand.
"So uhm, I was kind of just patrolling around the area just listening and looking out for any suspicious activity" she said, trying her best to sound like she did in fact know what she was doing. She was glad she had given RPG that impression even if it was, at best, a passable facade.
"We should head back up that way, I guess?" She suggested, nodding in the direction she had come from.
