Poppet felt a bit conflicted when Solomon suggested her to leave her faction. It’s not like she love working with the Keeper and whatever thing they have plan, but she wouldn’t say she hated them. After all, they’re the first faction who actually being friendly toward her, and they don’t really consist of a bunch of jerk, only about half of them are. Of course, she made sure to stay clear out of their way. The only person in that faction that she might actually have some comfortable talking to is Azoth, though she looks like she like talking about business more than anything else.
“I-I don’t know, Stein,” Poppet said to him, “I-I mean, where would I go when I left the Keeper? The other faction have quite a strange member of their own, and t-that guy you’re working with earlier, he just creep me out four ways to Tuesday.”
“Besides,” Jessica continued, “the Keeper isn’t all bad; sure they have…questionable goal and method, but so far we’ve been staying away from anything that might be the wrong thing to do.”
Jessica then flew closer to Solomon’s ears in order to whisper to him: “Oh, and if you happen to need any money, we do have an associate who can pay quite a lot in return for a little favor we did for her.”
“J-Jessica, you shouldn’t talk about that.”
Poppet pulled her doll back into her arms before looking back up to Solomon. The fact that even though years has pass, and the fact that the two of them were identical twin, Poppet looks like she’s still stuck in her ten-year old self while Solomon is a man, and a tall one at that. It funny; women out there in the world all worry about getting old, and here’s Poppet wanting nothing more than actually grow into a woman herself.
“T-To be honest with you, I-I’m not sure how I managed to stay like this.” She answered his question, “T-Things were very lonely without you at home, Stine. O-Our parents…worries about me following your example, decided to have me stay in the house for all those years, home-schooling me rather than having me go to a public school.
In fact, I didn’t even realize how much time has passed until I…found one of your letters that you sent to me.”
Poppet then scuffle her skirt slightly; the later point in her life is something that she wished she could forget, and it’s something she rather not wanted to let him know about:
“S-So I sneak out and run away from home, like you,” she lied, “a-and follow what trace you got left and headed here, Emerald City, where there’s a high super population located. I-I figured if I looked around here, I would find some clue to find you.”
“Seriously, we didn’t expect to find you so easily, and you looking like this.”
