Aurora's expression flattened. Not because Bolide was necessarily doing anything wrong, but because she was put into an awkward position regarding phone numbers yet again. Having a way to contact him would be useful, there was no denying that. However, she was afraid taking it now would give him the wrong impression. She wasn't looking for someone to talk to, she didn't need people to do odd jobs for her for the most part, and she couldn't shake the feeling that he was trying to pull something and this was either to help with that or to try to smooth things over. There was a compromise in there somewhere. This wasn't like the situation with Blue Jay where he was doing what he thought friends would do.
"Drop it, I'll pick it up with my power. There's no need to tag along with me today. I doubt I even need to be there, but I don't trust Limen enough to handle things correctly without me watching her. Same with the research. I'm not completely sure about what I'm looking for yet. I need to look around for a bit. Most of the things I need done right now are longer term...beyond the usual maintenance of the base. I know the rain barrels are due to be emptied and the water needs to be bottled up, but I can't think of anything else that needs immediate attention. There'll be more to do once I'm ready to setup the hydroponic gardens on the roof tops and I'm ready to begin the restoration of the docks proper."

Why she couldn’t just take the slip of cloth and do what was needed herself eluded him. A little rude, wasn’t it? But, that just seemed how she seemed to do things. May as well humour her. It was somewhat odd that she wanted him to let go of it before she dissolved it with her powers, however. Perhaps she was afraid of catching his hand in it? Come to think of it, he’d never heard of any instance of Aurora dissolving something living. That hadn’t even been her alleged means of killing Mosh Man, even though the disintegration of a body would be faster, easier, and more certain than crushing. If she was capable of doing so, then was a strange time to be choosey. What seemed most likely was she was unable to dismantle anything alive - talk of a sweets feast delivered from Aurora yesterday, as well as the suggested absorption of the cloth told biological material wasn’t necessarily out - and, by some extension, anything touching it. The first assumption seemed reasonable enough, but he’d want to gather more on the second before he went to reaching any solid conclusions. He settled for dropping the piece of cloth.
“I’ll take care of the water then, once I’m done with what I need to do for myself.” The rest of the day would be his. It was a shame there wasn’t much to do directly with Aurora, but that was part on him for wanting to spend the morning working on his own issues. It was likely for the best now, though - parting ways and letting the conversation settle. He’d patched what he could, and he’d prefer to see Aurora’s reaction after it’d stewed for a while than attempt to guess it now. There would always be more opportunities later. Mention of the hydroponic gardens said as much, and more mundane ones would arise as well. Today would make for a fine excuse to bother some of the other Pandaemoniums.
In spite of his slip, he was glad he’d come to talk with Aurora. Grand ideologies were good to know, but the real issues came in the details. He was glad - albeit worried - to hear a number of hers, so he knew more of what to watch for and more of what to target when the time came to do so. Sharing more about Bolide didn’t hurt either. Though he could no longer afford to trip or go back on anything he’d already stated.
Bolide stretched his arms out in front of him and took a step backwards away from the building’s edge. “I’ve taken enough of your time. Thanks for the chat, Aurora. See you around.”
He waited for any parting words, but, if that was all, he would take his leave down the opposite side of the building he first climbed to where he’d parked his motorcycle. All things considered, he was pretty ready for some quiet and solitude in an executive’s meeting room ceiling.

As promised, the slip of cloth turned into particles once it hit the ground. Aurora wasn't sure how to react after that. This was one of the few genuinely pleasant conversations she'd had in a long time, but now she couldn't shake the feeling that none of it was genuine. It didn't matter how well things went if they were all lies. It left her with a sinking feeling in her stomach and a bitterness that she wasn't used to. She had little desire to engage more than necessary, so she didn't. All she did was nod at his words. She needed time to sort out the rest of her feelings. For now, she wanted to enjoy the last few minutes of the sunrise and her relaxation time.
