Even though Unhallow knew it was a futile effort, they attempted to sleep anyway. It turned out to be a terrible idea, likely even worse than getting no sleep at all. The events of the day replayed in Unhallow's head no matter how hard they tried to push them out. The image, not just of the family that was murdered in Myrtle Lake, but how it was done, was burned into their brain. The fact that Azoth, the fellow Keeper that Unhallow had been asked to assist, was able to kill the man not just so easily, but so nonchalantly, like it was no big deal, also forced them to face a rather unpleasant reality. Unhallow had no illusions about what the Keepers were. They understood why most people considered them super villains, but it was so easy to ignore given the kinds of things Unhallow needed to do. Seeing what the more experienced members needed to do, seeing what might be in store for them later, it was terrifying. It was no wonder so many people considered Unhallow unreliable. When the time came, would they really be able to do something like that? Unhallow's mind was racing with images and questions, and no matter how hard they tried they just couldn't get it to stop.
After flopping around on the distressed mattress they had setup near the picnic tables for what felt like an eternity, Unhallow decided to give up on trying to sleep tonight. The more they tried, the more awake they felt. What they needed was a distraction, something to force all these thoughts away at least long enough to get some sleep. There wasn't a lot to do in the abandoned amusement park, so Unhallow opted to do what they tended to do when they couldn't sleep: attempt to get some amount of control over their powers. In the past six months, they've had some success at that. Just a few months ago, they had no control at all. They would produce the energy, and it would do its thing. Now, they could at least 'grab' a small portion of the energy and redirect it somewhere else. They still didn't have the timing down very well, but it was at least enough to make a little bit of a difference, and it allowed them to target specific places in a person harder during a fight to hopefully end the fight more quickly. It was better than nothing at the very least.
Unhallow went to the same spot they always did to train. It was easy to find because it was the only place in the whole park that didn't even have any dying grass. However, once they got there they immediately noticed something wrong. Before tonight, their sensory range only extended to about the edge of the roller coaster to the popcorn machine near where the food would have been sold if the park had opened. Tonight, both of those things were well with in their range, to the point that they were closer to the middle in their respective directions than the edge. Their range wasn't just bigger, it nearly doubled in size. A lump formed in Unhallow's throat. They really did not like the implications of that, but it was too soon to jump to conclusions. Taking a deep breath, Unhallow did something they had done many times before. They grabbed as much energy as they could, and directed it towards the sign for the roller coaster. As expected, it ran through the sign and then ran through the roller coaster, doing about as much damage as usual. The strange thing though was that it hit a much narrower spot, it was actually easier to push around than they remembered. Before they could get too excited about that, everywhere else took significantly more damage than expected. Rather than grabbing maybe a bit less than a quarter of the energy they generated, they were only able to grab maybe 10%, and it still had all the same effects they expected it to. Any excitement they had about having a little bit more control over where the energy was directed immediately vanished.
Unhallow took a few more deep breaths. That had worse implications that also needed to be tested. At their very core was where their power was the strongest. Even keeping something in there for a few seconds could cause serious damage. It made designing their costume and any tools they might use a bit of an engineering challenge, and it made it difficult for them to move in crowded areas. Fortunately, keeping their elbows out was normally enough to keep people away from the worst of it, granted even people that bumped into her elbows would be in for a bit of pain, it at least wasn't bad as bumping into their chest. How big was that most dangerous area now? Unhallow found a patch of somewhat living grass and layed down on it. As expected, the grass was in that dangerous area. They gradually sat up, waiting to see when the damage to the grass decreased, however that decrease never came. They started to stand up to continue the test, and eventually the grass did leave that dangerous area. It felt like it was about a foot wide now, once again, nearly twice as large as it was before. Just sticking their elbows out may not be enough to keep people out of it anymore. That was going to make their life significantly more difficult.
Once Unhallow finished standing up, their knees felt so weak that they almost fell right back down. Instead, they walked over to the roller coaster sign post, and flopped against it, the sound of their helmet colliding with the metal of the sign post rang throughout the park. Just as they felt they were getting some amount of control over their power it suddenly gets significantly stronger, setting them back to where they were several months ago. Were they even going to be able to keep up with this? Would it ever be possible for them to control their power? What the hell were they even supposed to do now?

Solitude was peaceful. He couldn't remember exactly when he turned from hating being alone to preferring it. At first his time of isolation had been sporadic. Training had taken up a lot of his early life, but as he grew older and more skilled he was granted more freedom. Days to himself. Those turned into weeks, and now it had been months since he had seen his Master. Leaving him to his own devices for some time. Home was isolated, far off the beaten path. Far enough that you'd have to be trying to find it to show up at least. But sometimes he just needed a change of scenery.
Happy World offered both of those things. A new place to stretch his legs and solitude. At least he had been expecting solitude, but there was always the chance of running into kids getting into trouble. Or the homeless, and he didn't really want to have to pretend to be happy and cheerful. Or weak. That most of all. The disguise of weakness was the role that he hated most. And so it was as Gilgamesh, that he walked through this place of ruin and abandoned dreams. Death and oppression seemed to fill the air as he walked it's paths, separated completely from society. While he supposed most people would feel the tightening grip of foreboding grabbing their heart being in a place like this, Gilgamesh found it was peaceful. If in an eerie way. Very different from his normal paths of solitude, filled with the sound of life and nature.
Happy World may very well be the Yin to the Dojo's Yang. Which was an exciting prospect. It could make this a fantastic training ground, a place where he could soak in another environment. Perhaps if the Dojo helped him to harness his own Yang this place may bring out the Yin within. Maintaining inner balance and tranquility. He practiced death in a place of life and light, he knew that they were connected and dependent upon each other. The idea that such a dark place would help him put him in touch with his yin was amusing, but also sensible. He briefly wondered what his master would think of such musings, though he knew it wouldn't matter. Because while he walked the Path of the Iron Fist, every man still forged their own path.
He was snapped out of his musings by the sound of metal loudly clanging. He wasn't alone, not anymore at least. He'd dart toward the sound, hopping from shadow to shadow, moving with fluid grace and quiet footfalls. He was curious what other type of person came to such a dark place. Was it simply the vagrants that would take shelter where they could find it? Or did this unique place draw something more interesting. A test for the Warrior King.

Unhallow's flood of thoughts was interrupted by movement at the edge of their sensory range. The movement was careful, the person was obviously trying very hard to avoid being spotted. Unfortunately for that person, nothing could evade Unhallow's sight. The nature of the movement made them think that this person couldn't have been up to anything good, and as they started to pick out the features in order to identify the person this was only confirmed in Unhallow's mind. They couldn't place the super's name, but if they remembered correctly, he was one of the more violent people in Pandaemonium and that was saying something. Not that Unhallow could name any specific incidents, it's just what they heard. Somewhere. Unhallow didn't want to know what such a person was doing so close to the sanctum, and didn't intend to let him get too far into whatever he was doing to find out. It coudln't possibly be anything good anyway.
Sadly, having their head leaning against a pole with their shoulders slumped was not an ideal way to be spotted. Unhallow already knew they weren't naturally intimidating, which was half the purpose of their costume to begin with, so having to deal with such a handicap would probably make it impossible to chase him off with words or presence alone. Not that it ever worked in the first place, but Unhallow liked to pretend they would be able to pull it off eventually. Instead, before they spoke, Unhallow reached out with their power. What did this guy do again? They couldn't remember, it was so hard to keep track of all this super related stuff. Well, if he hurt a lot of people he probably had some kind of destructive power right? It sounded reasonable enough to hit that first. Unhallow's power was invisible, even to Unhallow themselves. The only thing that could be seen were the effects, but given how much more precise they could get now, there wouldn't be nearly as many effects to be seen in the first place. Just the sudden inability to draw as much power from his superpowers as he was used to because Unhallow was killing some of the neural connections that allowed people to use their powers. That effect tended to unsettle most supers, so hopefully it'd work here. With that, they stood up straight, squared their shoulders, and addressed the intruder. Granted, they weren't facing the right direction, so it may be difficult to tell exactly who they were talking to.
"Leave. Your kind isn't welcome here."

He was a little surprised to see the other person. Not really one to intimidate others even as they were barking orders at him. Which he obviously had no intention to listen to. One, that person had no authority over him. Two, he wasn't afraid of what he assumed to be a Super based off of the costume. And three, as far as he was concerned he had just as much right to be here as they did. The presumed Super had no authority to say that his kind wasn't welcome anywhere frankly.
"And if I don't?"
His eyes continued to rapidly scan the area. He didn't see anyone else. So he had to assume that the person was talking to him. He had also noted throughout the park the areas of decay. Some likely due to time, but others seemed less likely. The spread was uneven with odd spots of concentration. Pockets of heavy rust or barren patches. Not that there was a lot of living plant life. The lack of animal life was interesting. He saw a couple of crows in his whole time here, but very little signs of rats. Like there wasn't much for them to live off of. It was something to take note of. Either way he continued to watch them, observing them and his surroundings habitually. But he'd emerge from the shadows, he'd been spotted so staying concealed wasn't worth the effort at this point.

That was the real question wasn't it? One that Unhallow really hoped wouldn't be asked. It took all their self control to not shift awkwardly in place while they tried to think of something to say. It was a little disappointing that they weren't able to scare this guy off so easily, even if their words did sound better in their head than they did spoken. Unhallow couldn't just let this person stay here right? Not when he was very obviously up to no good, between the sneaking and the being in Pandaemonium. So, the only thing to do was to chase him off...right? It was one of the few things their power was good for in the end.
It hadn't been that long, but Unhallow was already agitated and upset before he even showed himself, so it wouldn't take that long for some of the lesser effects of their power to show themselves. He would likely be feeling some amount of muscle and/or headaches without any intervention on Unhallow's part. It wasn't meant to be aggressive, in fact there wasn't really anything they could do about it. He didn't seem to notice any of Unhallow's prior meddling, which meant he either didn't have a power like that, or he just wasn't using it yet. Good to know they supposed. It was fortunate on some level, because while they wanted to be prepared for a fight, it's not like Unhallow actually wanted to fight. It tended to be bad for everyone, even if they were able to minimize the damage they did to the other combatant. Given their current emotional state though, coupled with how nervous this situation was making them feel in general, their power was already noticeably stronger than usual. It'd be better for everyone if this dissolved nicely.
"Then..." Unhallow started talking then stopped, still not quite sure what to say. "Then, I'll have to defend it."
Unhallow tensed a bit, preparing for the worst. Based on how he was talking, this wasn't going to work at all was it? This was a really bad idea wasn't it? But what else were they supposed to do? Quickly, Unhallow tried to send some more energy towards that one spot in the brain that let people use their powers. If it decayed enough, then maybe everything would be fine. Supers always tended to get really uncomfortable when they did weird things to their powers. For a little while at least, trying to use any powers would feel like running a marathon carrying a 200 pound weight on his back. The effect was fleeting though, so they would still have to be prepared for anything.

A headache started to flash through his head, burning behind his temples. An effect of the other Super's powers maybe? He wasn't normally prone to headaches. But what the Super was doing was still unknown to him. And for the most part beyond his worry. He didn't care if he had to fight through a headache or a broken arm. Pain was a driving force. Hatred fueled him to push his limits, and his training would keep him centered and collected. No matter what life through at him. And so it was with much more confidence than the other Super displayed that Gilgamesh took another step forward, tilting his head to the side.
"You're afraid."
That was good. Supers should fear him. Criminals should fear him. And anyone that got in his way should fear him. Fear would keep them alive. Fear would make them feel alive. He'd continue to look around even as he took another step closer, looking once more for back up. Because if this... child thought that they could prevent him from doing anything. Well they had better have a hell of a power, because he doubted the strength of their conviction.
"Would you die to stop me? Is that what you are saying?"

"Do not come any closer!"
The way it was said made it sound more like a warning than an actual command or threat. The closer anything was to Unhallow, the harder it was hit by their power. It had something to do with how circles got bigger according to people smarter than Unhallow, but they didn't really need to get the math behind it to see the effects. A few steps wouldn't make that big a difference yet, but it would get more noticeable the closer he got, and as he got closer each step would make a bigger difference. Given Unhallow could already feel his more fragile cells dying, they figured it didn't need to happen any faster. No one ever seemed to listen though, something that still made them a little bitter.
The meaning behind his words went completely over their head. Of course they were afraid, it was something that came not just with every fight, but just by existing. Fights just made it worse, fights just made their power exponentially stronger, and that was assuming that it was just a normal fight and nothing else weird happened. The night at the trainyard proved what their power could do under extreme circumstances. By the time they came to their senses the entire area with in their sensory range was completely destroyed. Even the grass right around Unhallow was little more than dust, any metal was so rusted that anyone could take it apart like it was made of tissue paper, and the smuggler's den in the area was little more than rubble and dust. There was nothing left. Except, Unhallow's power was stronger now than it was that night. What it was capable of then likely paled in comparison to what it could do, and there was nothing they could do about it. It was terrifying. It was bad enough on its own, but given the events of that day, the damage Unhallow constantly did was pushed to the forefront of their mind. Then they had to do something stupid like get into a fight on top of all that while their heart was already racing. Stupid, just stupid. Even if it was something that seemed really bad. It's not like they could actually say any of that though. They were incompetent enough and they didn't want to make the other Keepers look any worse than they likely already did.
"You must feel it already. You're dying. You will continue dying as long as you stay here. So you should just leave."
Unhallow spoke like that was a direct response to his comment. The next one was just silly though. He was talking to someone whose power was quite literally death. It was something they saw at all hours of the day, something they couldn't look away from no matter how hard they tried. Having the sheer inevitability of it all shoved in their face constantly, coupled with getting a very strong look at exactly how small each individual was in the grand scheme of things, made them no longer fear their own death. On some level, Unhallow was grateful for it, it meant they'd be able to fight dragons with no hesitation, even with the knowledge that one of those abominations would inevitably kill them some day as they have many other supers. Injuries were about the same. They could be fixed, so there was no reason to be afraid of them. What Unhallow feared was always the effects on other people. They never wanted to hurt anyone, and while they were able to think like this about themselves, they had a great deal of difficulty applying the same thoughts to other people. On some level, Unhallow thought it was likely that they feared death and injury and that their body would react accordingly, it just wasn't something that bothered them on an emotional level anymore. Much like they were sure they feared this Pandaemonium interloper on some level, especially given they were still intimidated by him, it just paled in comparison to everything else.
"Are you really so eager to find out over something like this?" the bitterness in Unhallow's voice was palpable even through the voice modulator.
This time, Unhallow did nothing with their power. It wouldn't stop it from affecting everything around them, but there didn't seem to be any reason to aim it anywhere as long as he was content to talk. Trying to shove too much energy down his brain would probably be bad right? Unhallow really had no idea what the long term effects of that kind of thing was, and experimenting to find out sounded unpleasant. Mentally, they repeated his question in their head a few times. Unhallow could only think that he was asking the wrong question. It wasn't a matter of whether they were willing to die, dying was easy, it was a matter of whether they were willing to kill. To bridge that gap that had been leaving them shaking all night. For something like this both seemed like silly questions to ask, but Unhallow wasn't applying it to this situation. When the time came, when it was actually important, when something more serious than keeping people away from them while they slept or keeping people away from the sanctum came along, what would happen?

Maybe it would come as a surprise to Unhallow but he heeded the warning and stopped. The urgency with which it was spoken, the clear fear that they were exuding from their being. Whoever this Super was, they clearly were not a threat to him. But they were afraid, but he wasn't sure if it was of him coming closer now. Maybe a trap? Though he still didn't see or hear anyone else in the area. Hadn't since he arrived. So he doubted that was it. Were they afraid to fight him? Well, that seemed obvious but it was possible that it was more than just the fear of pain and death and defeat. Maybe they were afraid of conflict in general. Though that idea just seemed foreign to him. Life was conflict.
The warning about him dying and needing to leave caused him to snort out in amusement. Even as the headache behind his eyes was growing stronger. He still wasn't worried about it, even if what they said was true. They were all dying, and his path was one that lead to his death. Just like everyone else. He won't be able to stop it when his time comes, but he can choose how to face it. And he would not shame himself by running away from the possibility of death. No, instead of advancing or retreating he'd take a moment to consider the Super in front of him, even as they continued to deride his presence bitterly. They wanted him gone, but they were not making overly active moves to drive him off. Instead they tried to scare him with words and headaches.
" I don't fear my death. Or yours."
He'd fold his arms over his chest, staring down the opposing Super. They really were not much to look at. Maybe it was the costume. Maybe it was how he had found them. But even with the implied threat of death. He could not find it in him to be afraid of them, or intimidated. No matter what their power could be. He didn't think the person that stood before him had it in them to fight with killing intent.
"Nor do I fear guard dogs. I came here for a reason, and I don't intend to leave until I've had a chance to train here. So I am not leaving. You can let me pass, or stop me by force. The choice is yours."

If Unhallow had better spacial awareness regarding which direction they were facing relative to what they were seeing, they would have done a double take. People never listened to them when they said not to come any closer, especially not in tenser situations. In fact, Unhallow was so caught of guard that they weren't actually quite sure what to do next. It felt like warning people that getting close to them was a really bad idea was just a formality so that they wouldn't have to feel too bad when the inevitable happened, but this time the person actually stopped. Unhallow briefly considered whether or not this was a mistake. Letting him get closer would have made his body decay even faster, but that was exactly the problem wasn't it? It might make him leave sooner after all. Unhallow, pushed the thoughts out of their mind, no it was a good thing he actually listened. If he had enough common sense to do that maybe he'd have enough common sense once enough of his blood cells died for the anemia to set in. Longer confrontations favored them and they knew this even if it was a very unpleasant reality. They didn't really like confrontation, but they weren't so afraid of it that they'd avoid it when it was really necessary.
Though his reason for being here did make their gut twist into a knot. He deliberately came into enemy territory, it's not like Athanasia was exactly subtle about her dislike of Pandaemonium after all, sneaking around the less inhabited areas of the island rumored to be where the Keeper's base was, and considered that a perfectly reasonable thing to do? What did he think was going to happen? It was fortunate that people rarely seemed to come by here. Unhallow could handle any injuries they might sustain, but the idea of someone else being forced to endure that for such an inane reason irritated them to no end. There didn't seem to be much other reason to pick a place like this. There was nothing else here. Unhallow was still willing to give him the opportunity to leave gracefully, if only to avoid the confrontation and the inevitable damage it would cause.
"You're not going to find what you're looking for here, and staying here means you'll just end up like the rest of this place. It's not about fear, it's about common sense. There's nothing here."

He shook his head as they told him that he wouldn't find what he was looking for here. It was like they weren't listening to him at all. And this time he'd take another step forward, even as the headache began to sear and he could feel his body flushing with heat. Like a bad fever was coming on, or like his body was fighting something. Exactly what it was, he couldn't say. But the source was obvious.
"I've already found what I'm looking for. So you can either stop what you are doing to my brain and body, or I can make you stop. Though I'd prefer to not ruin the mood with violence."
He'd raise an arm up as if showcasing the park itself. Death and violence would actually probably fit the mood of the setting, but he felt there was a good somber balance now. Being too aggressive might shift it closer to the Dojo which would defeat the purpose. But given a choice between that and letting this Super continue to do whatever they were doing, he'd take the risk.

Unhallow was afraid of that, but not the least bit surprised. That pretty much through out any hope that he just didn't have any interest in them specifically for some reason, or that he was just a weird masochist or something. Exactly why he was waiting until now to say this they weren't sure, but maybe it was because the effects of their power were really starting to show themselves? It would make sense at least, and it also reduced the hope that he might have some common sense and just leave like a reasonable person. The whole situation was making Unhallow a bit tense though. They were quite certain this guy wouldn't like the answer he was going to get.
"That's not possible. The only way to stop it is to leave...which is why I keep saying you should leave. I'm not even doing anything."
The fight seemed inevitable at this point. They weren't even able to completely follow what he was saying anymore, that last line just sounded like non-sequiter. Unhallow braced themselves for the worst, but still opted to not try to direct anything further at him. The effects seemed strong enough if he was actually complaining now, and Unhallow was still really hoping that he would just get the hint and leave. Unfortunately, they doubted he would believe them because how many supers had nearly no control of their powers? Unhallow knew of a grand total of none.

Gilgamesh didn't say anything at first when the Super said that they were not doing anything. That the only way to stop it was to leave. He wasn't quite sure if he believed them or not. He'd never met a Super that couldn't control their power. But he also didn't really understand how their kind worked. It wasn't that surprising really, Supers as a whole were lazy and unfocused. Why would this one be any different? Perhaps the location wasn't what he was looking for. Maybe it was this person. He was willing to go along with it a bit more to see how it played out. He wasn't going to turn his back on opportunity.
"That's the problem then." He'd shift before sitting down on the ground, folding his legs underneath him. His gloved hands pressing together in front of him, resting between his legs with his elbows resting on his legs. He'd take a slow, deep breath to center himself as he watched the Super standing across from him. "Sit. Breathe. And empty your mind."
Easier said than done, but they probably didn't have the searing headache that he had. Which was confirmed as being part of their power. But if this was the energy that was causing this wonderful aura in this terrible location. He wasn't against the idea of destiny or fate. Though he wasn't sure how much stock to put into it. But he was willing to humor the idea that he was supposed to be here. That meeting like this was fate. And that maybe he would learn something from the encounter. Life was a teacher, and he was here to soak up the aura of this place. If that meant a physical test on his body he would accept. If it meant a test of his spirit, he would accept.

While he was just standing there, Unhallow was preparing themselves for the worst. It was taking all their self control to not just throw as much energy as they could at his arms to hopefully end this quickly. But nothing came. When he sat on the ground, and they could feel the vibrations from the impact, once again, they braced themselves for the worst, expecting that to be an attack of some kind. They didn't know how his power worked after all. Once again, nothing came. Even so, Unhallow couldn't relax. They had even less idea what he was doing at this point. For awhile, all Unhallow could do was stand there dumbfounded at what they were seeing, trying to think of some scenario that made sense here. There were none, none of this made any sense at all anymore. A few more moments passed before a rather quiet, airy word finally managed to escape their lips.
"What?"

Another slow and deep breath as he went through the well practiced motions to relax. Other than the rising and falling of his chest his body remained motionless as he watched the other Super across from him. He tried to distance himself from the searing pain in his head, from the fever that was flushing his face as he sat there. He would endure, he would always endure, and he would overcome. But today he hoped to use a different path to overcome this obstacle, in a place filled with death and decay he wished to use the passive route. He would turn himself into the balance of Yin and Yang for this training session. The light in the darkness, the life among death.
"Sit down, breathe, and clear your mind.'
He repeated calmly. It was often difficult to do without practice. It was a lot easier said than done to really clear your mind. And it was even harder to do so in a tense situation. However, he had faith that he could, and would wait it out.
"It will help you."

After a few failed attempts, Unhallow managed to sputter, "Th-That doesn't answer the question at all!"
It took them a little while to put all the pieces together, even if none of this made any sense to them still. Was he seriously suggesting something like this as a means to control their power, as if they hadn't been doing that for what felt like months (even if it was closer to weeks) already? Did he really think that no one else thought of that by now? The ignorance was insulting, especially coming from someone like this if what they heard had any truth to it. Unhallow felt their frustration bubble up into anger, but managed to suppress it strangely enough by doing something similar to what he was suggesting. He was sitting. He wasn't doing anything. A fight could still be avoided. Maybe. The amount of times they've gone back and forth on this was starting to make their head spin.
"That's not going to stop it," even though they were trying not to sound too angry their voice made their irritation clear. "But I'll humor you if you'll just go away."
Unhallow remained motionless where they stood. There wasn't any reason to listen if he was just going to continue sitting there being a nuisance all night.
