For a second Vivi had thought Marion bailed on her. Not that the fact that he did such a thing bothered her. It was simply surprising that such a nice guy would suddenly have a drastic change of mind and heart. Plus, nobody ever left Vivi for anything, and never had before. It'd surely be a first time to write down in the record books. Of course she'd eventually exact her own revenge out of anger and the "playing" involved on his part. Fury suddenly flushed any other emotion out of her body, quickly replacing every single fiber of her being with hatred. How dare he leave! She was perfection! The best person, ideally, on the planet an-
Oh.
Marion just wanted to make a quick few bucks.
Sighing deeply, Vivi blinked idly a few times - having been surprised greatly all over again - as her system balanced itself back to calm and quiet. Any longer and she would've blown up. Literally. Releasing the hold of her clenched fists, nails having dug into scabbed over skin that nearly broke, Vivi casually flipped her multi-colored locks while forming a tiny, tiny grin, running a hand through the thick layers of hair in order to tame them. "I hardly cleared the landing." Vivi shrugged, reminding herself not to boast about how amazing she did, and how much better she was. As hard as that was because it was the absolute truth, of course! She'd claim bragging rights another time. A more convenient time. "Never thought you were such a saint." She brought up, referring to the sacrifice at the skate park, turning on her heel and beginning to walk towards the double-doored building now straight ahead. "Ya know, I do some woodworking, so if you ever need a new board I can whip one up for you; and paint it too."
Marion didn't take much effort out of her system. He'd be great as just a friendly face to keep at her side if things ever got nasty in her life or if she ever needed assistance. Who could distrust such a happy-go-lucky face? Plus, he seemed like the loyal type. Though, Vivi had yet to find out.

"I'm not sure I'd call my motivations 'saintly'," Marion replied with a smirk, pulling the cash back out of his shirt pocket to wave it illustratively. "I just needed to prepare myself to honor the terms of our wager. I mean, if you wanted to try sneaking inside instead, I'd be up for it, but I figure that neither of us are exactly eager to get blacklisted here." He was taken aback by the woman's offer to make him a replacement. The sold board was itself a gift from a member of his extended family, and while Marion wasn't the sentimental type, he still wasn't sure how he was going to replace it. "I'd be honored to ride a board of your making," he said with sincerity. Then he glanced down at the woman's board. "Did you make that one, too? If our race just now is any indication, that's some impressive craftsmanship." Tags: Vivian Landlow

Nodding, smirking in response to Marion's plan involving his previous actions, Vivi pulled out her own money from one of the back pocket's of her shorts before swiftly sliding the dollar bills back into the slip. Instinct for anyone, really, but she suddenly remember the agreement and felt satisfied that she wouldn't have to spend anything today. So money was what Marion meant to achieve out of selling his board. It was still a kind deed, but reminded her of everyone else who only gave if they got something else out of it. Well that was new... A person who could keep Vivi's attention and kept throwing surprises in her direction. Even if measly surprises at that, Vivi being as observant as ever never failed to catch them.
"Definitely not." Vivi replied sternly before pursing her painted lips tightly together. Getting in any sort of extreme trouble would send her into a rage which would only worsen the problem at hand. She'd rather not let herself stray from the path of pureness in which everyone believed good ol' Vivian Landlow walked. "Yep." A simple reply that wouldn't allow too much pride to shine through with the sound of her voice. "I woodcraft a lot. Wouldn't be hard to do, and you don't have to pay. Just meet up with a complete stranger in a day or two and 'she'll' show you what 'she' can do." What Vivi meant to imply through her sentence was that Marion should come over and assist her with the project. A step closer to gaining needed trust if not already received. Not that she truly minded the efforts of crafting: her favorite hobby, and one she hadn't had the luxury of performing in quite a while.

"Great! I'll look forward to you showing me what you can do." Marion was quite content. He hoped that he wouldn't have to go too long without a skateboard to call his own. There were certainly other ways for him to get his precious adrenaline rush, of course, but none quite so accessible. He resolved not to press the issue, though. It would happen when it would happen. Instead, he changed the subject, walking with the woman into the cinema. "So, how much time do we have to kill before the movie starts? You wanna grab any snacks? Hit the arcade machines...?" Passing the time before the scheduled showing was the worst part of the movie experience, as far as Marion was concerned. Whenever there was a movie that Marion wanted to catch, he'd make a game of arriving as late as possible without missing anything. But depending on just when this movie was supposed to start, he'd make the best of it. Tags: Vivian Landlow

Vivi had planned everything so the times would match their activity. The small detour had been a lot longer than Vivi originally thought, and after checking her watch she began pacing forward rather quickly. "Actually, it's time to be there." She pointed to a list, now that they were at the front desk, - not a line in sight except for at the soda, candy, and popcorn stations - printed above which told what movies were being played at what time. They had a few minutes because of previews, otherwise Marion and Vivi had no time to goof around. Not that the multi-color haired woman really wished to do such things. "Capitol Hill Chopping Mall. Don't be fooled by the name..." Vivi nudged for Marion to pay for tickets as she spoke, pink and brown orbs rolling in response to ticket vendor's repetition of the cheesy name. "The reviews were astonishing. I swear." Drawing a cross over her heart to prove she was telling the truth, Vivi grabbed her approved ticket and picked up her brisk walk, already a ways ahead of Marion.
"Race you to the room? Don't wanna miss anything."
Really, she hadn't thought she'd actually end up staying with all the thoughts previously coursing through her mind, let alone inviting Marion over to her house. If she'd been told that all of this - especially her creation of two childish games in one day - would happen the day before, Vivi would scoff and walk away, thinking you're an idiot. She didn't socialize with those whom she'd never met or hadn't been introduced to by another.
Well, not until today; Which would eventually end up changing the rest of them as well as her view on speaking to strangers.

Marion was relieved to hear that they hadn't arrived an hour early or something absurd like that. He gladly paid up for the tickets. "Huh? Is there supposed to be something wrong with that name?" Marion was a bit slow to get the question out, and the woman was already a few steps ahead of him. "Damn, she's fast..." He hadn't quite caught up by the time they reached the room. Once they were safely concealed by darkness, Marion pulled out a fresh cigarette and held it between his teeth. He didn't light up - even he had his limits, after all - but he did roll it back and forth as he followed the woman to her choice of seating and plopped himself down next to her. Marion perched himself on the edge of his seat, already eagerly awaiting the experience. He tapped his foot as he willed the previews to to hurry up and make way for the movie itself. Having been far from Marion by the time he spoke, she hardly heard what he'd said nor did she acknowledge the words. Vivi still couldn't believe what she'd gotten herself into and wondered how awful or how much better a movie would be when accompanied by someone such as Marion himself. He was different, Vivi had to give the red-head props for that. Even if that - in her eyes - was the best quality he obtained.
Inside the theater room the lights had already darkened and a surprisingly large crowd filled nearly every seat. "How cliche..." Vivi muttered underneath her breath, grabbing Marion's wrist in order to drag the male forward near the front of the room: her least favorite spot yet the only one available for now. Not that Vivi would spend precious time searching for another due to a mere uncomfortable position.
Finally releasing Marion's limb she plopped down in a seat with a content sigh escaping her lips. Vivi was tired and anxious and fidgety and confused. An awful mix of feelings from a source she couldn't recognize. Too much had passed her mind, too much filled her over-active imagination, and being without a person she knew entirely sent Vivi into a wrecked state. Yes, getting attached to someone - this one, single human being, even if only slightly - made the college student sick, as did the fact that she let herself soften over the course of an hour. She felt as if she were about to hurl, her stomach clenching every now and then...
And she did.
All over the lap of a now angry man who now loomed over her bent over body. "What the Hell!?" He bellowed - clearly using his muscular build to create intimidation - more of an angry statement rather than a question. He could've at least asked if she were okay. Instead the man seemed irritated with each passing second of Vivi ignoring him, groaning as she wiped her mouth and rubbed her stomach gently. The stranger's eyes shifted to Marion's form, "You gonna do something about this or do I have to?"
That wasn't a suggestion, no, a command.

"Good choice, the front row seats are always my favorite," Marion complimented the woman amiably. Closer to the action was always better, obviously. It hardly bore thinking about. Though it was oddly uncanny how often he'd come down with a sore neck after the movie was over.
It wasn't long at all before he was completely absorbed in the show, an excited grin on his face as the movie hit all the right spots to make his heart pound. He would have voiced his approval to the woman, but he didn't want to interrupt the experience.
And then the experience was interrupted anyway, and in a very unexpected manner. Marion heard a strange sound off to his side and when he looked over, he saw his companion emptying her stomach all over her other neighbor. In the darkness of the theater, it was hard to tell just how bad it was, but from the limited amount Marion could see, it certainly didn't look good.
Without thinking, he took off his jacket and handed it to the woman so she could clean herself up. Only then did Marion notice the anger of the other vomit victim.
"Ah... take this outside?" Marion ventured, and winced internally when the man nodded and cracked his knuckles. This was gonna hurt.
"I'll be right back," Marion whispered to the recovering woman, and without waiting for an answer, he went out to the parking lot alongside the big man.
The daylight did nothing to assuage Marion's concerns. His opponent was tall, with a solid foot over the very average Marion, not to mention broad and muscular. Marion enjoyed a good scrap now and then, but this guy would make him think twice even on the best of days.
But there was nothing to do for it. The big man raised his hands into a fighting posture, Marion raised his own, and then the fight was on.
It immediately became clear that Marion had the speed advantage, but that wasn't worth much considering the way that the big man's bulk protected him from Marion's swift punches. Blows to the big man's chest and belly just bounced off like punching granite, and he seemed to have enough fighting experience to protect his head from any direct hits. On top of that, the big man's own punches hit like twin freight trains, and it only took a couple of glancing blows before Marion was starting to falter.
Desperate for a turnaround, Marion spat his cigarette at the big man's face, then used the surprise to land a couple of solid hits on his jaw and ear.
The big man staggered backward at having his bell rung... then scowled and began advancing again. Maybe Marion had managed to hurt him, but more than that, he had managed to piss him off. The prospects were becoming more painful by the moment.
