Tristan smiled a little out of appreciation. "Alright," he said. "If you're sure. Thanks, and sorry about being so... Odd, I guess would be the best word." He chuckled nervously, sure that there were probably better, if harsher, words out there to describe how he was acting. He yawned, reminding himself of just how early in the morning it was. "I have to say, Grant, if you train regularly this early in the morning, I've got a lot of respect for you." He stopped for a moment before getting completely lost in thought, mumbling to himself about sleep and other such pointless things involving trying to figure out Grant's schedule. It was pretty clear he wasn't going to stop anytime soon by his own choice.

Though Tristan felt the need to apologize for his strange appearance, he really wasn't that odd, especially compared to some of the other characters Grant encountered. At most, he was just a little bit awkward and nervous in social situations, but that description could fit any typical teenager, including Grant. Though Grant technically wasn't 'typical' by any means, whether when referring to his physique or other...less obvious things. As the conversation went on, it became more and more apparent that Tristan was a little out of his element being awake this early in the morning. Grant was comparatively more used to it given how he was conditioned to sleep late at night and wake early in the morning. He was used to the relative lack of sleep at night, and was surprisingly able to function at almost full capacity most of the time. Though the afternoon naps helped. Grant stayed silent, waiting to see how this conversation would go.

Tristan was still muttering and mumbling whatever came to mind when, luckily for Grant, he yawned again and interrupted himself. "Oh, sorry about that," he said tiredly. "I get like that from time to time, and it only gets worse when I'm not running at full steam." He smiled a little bit before yawning again. "I guess it is pretty obvious that I'm not at full steam, huh? Maybe I ought to try and get some more sleep, but here lately, that's not exactly been getting easier."
He stretched out his back, producing some exceptionally audible popping. It was enough to cause him to groan from pain and surprise. He grinned immediately after, though. "Oh, boy," he said with a giggle. "That one got me good."

While the conversation certainly had a slow and awkward start, Tristan turned out to be quite talkative, if fairly nervous about things. A yawn told Grant that he seriously did not get enough sleep. It wasn't healthy, especially for a guy that was as slightly built like Tristan, though Grant didn't really want to say that to his face. It'd make things kind of awkward to criticize his habits out of the blue, after all. Thankfully, Tristan brought the topic up himself, sparing Grant the trouble of pointing it out. It was at that point that Grant got an idea. In exchange for the tuition, he could offer Tristan some physical training. He looked like he needed it anyways.
"How about I pay you with some training?"

Tristan smiled at the bigger guy when he offered to pay with training. "I suppose it wouldn't be too unconventional," he joked before yawning again. The big guy really did seem an alright sort so far as Tristan was concerned, even if he was a bit quieter than anyone could've expected. It really turned out that the little chance meeting was actually very lucky indeed.
"If you're sure you wouldn't mind, I'd be fine with that," he said tiredly. "It'll make it easier that way, you won't be feeling guilty about not paying me, everybody benefits in a way. Man, talk about great luck, huh?" He grinned and gave a thumbs up to the other teen. "I guess you've got yourself a deal!"

It was quite a relief that Tristan accepted the offer of physical training to repay the tuition. That way, Grant didn't need to feel so guilty for what he thought was taking advantage of this poor guy. Well, he still wasn't turning in a profit, but at least he was getting a workout, and bulking up wouldn't hurt, especially for someone as skinny as this guy was. If they kept it up long enough, they could be seeing some progress, while Grant's grades would improve as well. Now all he had to do was figure out what exactly he would put Tristan through. Definitely start off slow, no extreme stuff until he was sure the guy could handle it. Repaying Tristan's thumbs up, Grant then extended a hand to shake. An incidental meeting ended up benefiting them both. It wasn't often that things like this happen
