His solitude did not last long, but his sister was fine current company. He paused in his current spell to greet her.
“Wonderful. Don’t hold back against the thralls, even the partially transformed ones. They are beyond saving. Wasting time on them will only cause us to lose more of the uninfected.” He nodded when his leader confirmed the same (making note of this fellow, Geata’s, display of powers for later reference).
Since he’d gotten fuller information on the dragon’s means of attack, Solomon had switched from preparing more general spells, leaving a couple half-formed in his books, to ones better suited against the nature of the threat. The first two of which he had just completed.
Beginning a building away from his rooftop, a lightly opaque grey cloud spread through the streets and out for several blocks. It was built specifically to counter plant or fungal-based supers, but he supposed it would work fine against a dragon too. To humans and other animals, it wouldn’t be any more bothersome than city smog, if that; but to plants and fungi, it was bane. Street-side trees caught in the area would wilt, branches twisting and leaves crumbling into dry husks, hissing and smoldering as though touched with an acid. Anything of the sort that the cloud touched would be affected.
The goal was to kill cells, weaken the organism for full destruction before regenerative powers that were often coupled with plants could occur - and so it was by no coincidence that the gas was also highly flammable. A spark was all that was needed to set the entire cloud ablaze. One particular super, another Sin, as it were, would be more than adequate. Thus, Solomon chose to center the spell around Wrath. He would leave the second step in her hands.
The second spell, also centered around the area that would be affected, was unlikely to be noticed until the blaze was in full force. He had been expecting to launch off fire-heavy spells himself, and they tended to be… far from precise. For the sake of not frying any fighters, he had cast a simple spell that would act as a strong fire retardant on choice targets. The scope of it would only protect supers; unpowereds caught in the area would be on their own. His time had to be focused elsewhere.
And then something hit the rooftop beside him. Or someone, rather; Carl, a Bulwark who had arrived in the city not long before. His shown strength and recent attempt at gaining leadership within the faction made him, not a threat necessarily, but someone to keep an eye on. Solomon considered the allegedly powerful super, who had splattered himself across the roof and up the side of his coat. Quite the threat indeed.
He had returned to muttering his next spell by the time Carl had picked himself up and given his apology, to which Solomon shrugged. Blood was going to be the least of their worries, and the boy’s given instructions were far more interesting anyway.
“A parachute may have saved you time, actually. And me a trip to the drycleaners.” He mused. More importantly, he added, “Carl, correct? I have heard this isn’t your first dragon. If you tell me your plan and allow me some time, I may have something to compliment your power.” If there were other supers around, he may as well work with them.

Poppet smiled underneath her gas mask from Solomon’s comment; she feels much safer now that she’s with him. Although she do feel a bit unsure about his comment on how the partial thralls was beyond saving. Maybe since they’re only half-way transform, they are fighting back desperately from whatever taking control over them? It’s hard to wrap her mind around such thought, and it’s worries her that she might bringing more pain to them while they’re suffering.
She looked over at the more bloated thralls of the bunch; seeing how there’ flower blooming all over them and letting out those cloud of spore, she could guess they’re the one that cause the horrid mutation to occur. If they’re the one responsible for all of this, then she won’t hold back on those thralls.
“Are you ready Jessica?” she asked her floating doll.
“I’m always ready.”
With that, Poppet began to move her arms along side with her doll’s flying rhythm; both of them looks like they’re in a middle of a performance. As they’re doing so, the street began to fill with thick wire-like web crisscrossing from one side of the street to another. As soon as the preparation is ready, Poppet quickly pulled both her arms together with all her might, as if she’s pulling a rope. As she does so, the web began to latch onto those bloated creatures and began to squeeze them tightly around their bloated body and neck. If these things are still using their lung to breathe, they’ll soon realize they’re being suffocating once they feel the web sprung around their neck. It’s all she can do right now, so hopefully she’ll be able to stop those bloated creatures from making any further movement to spread those spores further in the city.

“Roger that.”
Giza said to Aurora once he finished with spreading the word with the megaphone. He handed the megaphone to Aurora before cracking his knuckles and get ready for some work. Stopping these thralls from moving and spreading any further might be a bit challenging, considering how those huge bloated mess are emitting cloud after cloud of spore into the air. If Giza could make a guess, those are the one who responsible for spreading the mutation all over the city.
The problem is that they are quite spread out rather than concentrated in a general area, so he can’t stop all of them at once. He needs a better plan if he’s going to halt their progress right where they were. Looking at the mess down below, he thought up an idea right at that moment. If he can stop the smaller yet more numerous thralls from going any further, their huge number could be enough to form congestion on the street.
So while Aurora is dealing with the half-machine abomination, Giza decided to focus his attention on the smaller one. Jumping down to a lower rooftop, he congealed up the water vapor around him until it formed into a huge ball of water. As soon as he got to the location, he threw the water right on top of them; the water spread and immediately froze over as if undergoing a flash-freeze. Any walking thralls down below would find their feet completely froze onto the concrete pavement. The ice spread all over the street and up the building in a rapid pace, building up huge monolith made of ice in order to form walls all over the affected area. This outa stop those thralls on their track, or at the very least slowing them down.

In pulling up to Lust, there hadn’t been any misgivings whatsoever (from Limen at least, she couldn’t speak for Sanduleak) in need of smoothing. “Great, ‘cause we’re not slowing down ‘til this thing is dead and this is going to be one hell of a ride.” She reeved the motorcycle and gestured for her to get on with her head. “Let’s do this thing.”
Lust, being a Pandaemonium, had seemed initially pretty great, but oddly seemed only more so once she was along for the trip. Weird. But it worked great for Limen, so she didn’t pay it a lot of mind.
There seemed to be a pretty sizable population of supers downtown, and a good chunk of the population had so kindly come out to greet them. Limen had changed course, driving into the thick of it rather than skitting hesitantly around the edge for sake of not having to do the equivalent of jumping off a moving train into a thicket of cacti. Danger be damned; she had Sanduleak, Lust, a third fellow named Tricky (if she was remembering right, not that he'd be keeping that name in her mind for very long), and anyone else who wanted a ride along, and she was grinning madly beneath her gas mask for it. Last dragon she’d only had one friend to tote around and one target to effectively shoot arrows at. This time she had targets she could actually maybe do something against, and a whole two friends (one gained just earlier today, wouldn’t you know) and one grand potential friend who knew how to make an entrance to bring along for the ride.
Which, if anything, was going faster now. Limen had pulled her bow over her shoulder and was dry aiming it with her right hand while she steered with her left. When a moment came where the bike was not in immediate need of a directional change - during a straightaway, or any moments of brief airborneality, she strung and shot one of her blunt electric arrows. Whatever the lady had said through Geata’s portals, Limen felt weird going for the kill on these guys, so taser strike it was. Then she came a sharp turn to avoid one of those fast ones with the claws. She hoped Lust would keep to her promise and Sanduleak could keep up so there weren't any unexpected drops in weight. In other news, she was taking song requests.

The truck had started to slow down its path through the plant people, and it took only a moment to figure out why. Some of the things had armor plating, and they were harder to barrel over than the unprotected ones were. There were a couple ways to resolve the difficulty that this swarm presented. Either he could just throw the truck in reverse and go find others to bludgeon and impale or he could flame them where he was. Neither of these seemed appropriate, so instead he started to back up while spraying unlit fuel all over the nearby armored monsters. Hopefully, it could find some way to deal damage after he ignited it. Meanwhile, some of the things were attached to the various weapons on the truck. Phenomenon climbed out of his rolled down window to the bed of the truck and simultaneously a glowing pink walkie talkie floated from the bed onto the gas pedal and started to press it down. The wheel also started to glow, steering into the least imposing targets behind the car. Phenomenon took the gas hose from the turret and started to manually spray down his foes while kicking the other ones of the sides of his truck. After it had dropped some of the weight, both living and dead, as well as cleared out some of the rear obstructions, the pilot lit what napalm was coming out of the hose and stopped spraying while the truck pulled out of the crowd. He quickly clambered back into the driver's seat and tossed the walkie talkie back into the bed. Now, he just held his hand on the gearshift and his foot over the gas pedal. If the flames had dealt their fair share of damage he would just plow through them, but if not he may have to leave them be for now.

She had to admit, it was smart of Geata to create a large number of portals to improve communication among the varying groups. Providing a way to send a message to everyone en mass as demonstrated by Seraphim ought to reduce the amount of time spent repeating the same thought to each individual one came across. Zenith decided to take advantage of the network as well, as she had an idea that required others attention.
“Should anyone be injured, please attempt to contact the rest of us so immediate assistance can be performed.”
Even if they were all supposed to focus on annihilating the larger threat, Zenith was still a doctor of sorts and saw a need to offer her services. Preventing the strongest of the allies from dying should improve the likelihood of an overall victory, even if the weaker ones were overwhelmed. Additionally, should this infection attempt to infect one of their own, she would be able to eliminate them before the dragon gained full control of their mental faculties.
Until then, she busied herself with defeating more of these thralls. A surge of electricity coursed through her body, enhancing her speed to unnatural levels. For a moment Zenith seemed to vanish completely, moving too fast for the human eye to see. She reappeared a second later a few feet from where she started, breathing heavier than before. The punch she delivered to the swollen figure of a target had exceeded a thousand miles per hour, and she needed a moment to cool off.

Others had found Limen's motorcycle and hitched a ride, but Lust had gotten the best seat and she wasn't giving it up to anyone. She kept a solid grip on her date, though not a perfect one- every other moment she was shifting, squirming, trying to find the more comfortable position. Once Limen had taken that annoying bow off her back, Lust would lean into her, resting her chin on the girl's shoulder and laughing loudly. "This feels amaaazziiiingggg!"
'Hell of a ride' certainly hadn't been an exaggeration. It wasn't quite the feeling Lust had come looking for, but the exhilaration, the thrill of riding a fast-moving vehicle over bridges of light into a sea of absolute mayhem, got her heart beating faster and her pulse pounding. Her long blue hair flew wildly in the wind, her breathing speeding up as she grew more and more excited. She spoke into Limen's ear, pouring everything she felt into her voice and letting it flow into her new partner. "Please, please, give me more! Faster, harder, shoot out everything you have- ohhh, oh yesssssss!"
The encouragement would affect Limen in strange ways- not only her mind, but her body. She'd find more adrenaline rushing through her, along with a strong desire to please her passenger, driving her to perform better than she ever had before.

To be perfectly honest, Envy did not expect there to be so many supers in the city. Under normal circumstances, she would have felt pessimistic about her chances of doing anything useful with so many better people around, but today there were plenty of bad guys to take out. Hearing Gluttony's suggestion through the weird portal thing confirmed he was alright for now. She felt a little better knowing he was around somewhere, and deciding to follow along with the idea.
She needed to find Lust. It took a moment, but eventually she located the other Sin as part of the motorcycle brigade. They were all busy doing their own thing, and Envy didn't want to distract them for her benefit. She could always catch up in a moment. Besides, Lust was a big girl and could take care of herself. The other Pandaemonium members would look after her too.
For now, she needed to clear a path through these monsters. The ring on her right hand started to glow as she drained the life from the nearest cluster of enemies. Without any reason to hold back, Envy felt the power build inside her much faster than normal. Her right hand began to glow as she created a sphere of energy to contain the absorbed strength instead of her body.

Post by Tricky on Oct 9, 2016 15:06:01 GMT -7
Tricky prioritized effectiveness over mayhem on very, very few occasions. This was one of those occasions. As much as he wanted to go unleash some anger in some very destructive ways on the thralls, he needed to do a little bit of poking and testing first. He hopped off the bike and started to turn back into his former self, not normal but deformed and angry looking. As fate would have it, he landed in a large group of large, swollen plant people. They were good targets for his warm up, or cool down depending on how you looked at it. Instead of anything horribly extravagant, he raised his hands and the mouths of their faces started to shoot large streams of blue. He was icing the monster, and after a few seconds it was almost completely frozen. This was to cause more damage later rather than inhibit its movement or any similar thing. He kept this process up, now leaping through a crowd of them and freezing them very precisely to save time while still having a large effect on them. After he had coated several, he stopped and started to weave his way back through them. Now, he was lower to the ground and quicker but he wasn't freezing them. Instead, he was forming small knives, blades, and spikes of ice that he respectively stabbed, threw, and shot the oversized bush. The whole process was very contrary to Tricky's usual nature, almost dead silent but for the light hiss of the ice being shot out and the thudding or cracking of a weapon hitting its destination.

Nemesis did not try to leave the helicopter just yet. Really, she didn't need to go down there herself to use most of her powers, it was just a habit. From what she could tell, her spirit had a long range of effectiveness, and could mess with things down below while she stayed safe up here. This would be a bad time to learn that her healing couldn't prevent a zombie bite from taking over, so why bother taking the unnecessary risk?
She made sure the black smoke stayed out of the way of Rainfall and the pilot as it traveled downwards. As it reached the ground, the darkness spread out to cover several of the enemies at once. The people under the effect of the dragon might be too far gone to be seriously influenced by her possession—they certainly felt enough fear to ignore anything she would try—but she still tried to prevent them from doing anything.

HaLOS scanned the area where the most infected are located and begin to analyze each different type of mutation. So far it has identify six different type of thralls, each with their own specialty and ability. Seeing how the other supers are currently handle the other type, HaLOS calculated the probability of which thralls require more attention than the other. Once the data is finish compiling, it focus its target on the thralls that are capable of jumping, climbing and spitting from above. Compared to the other type of thralls, this one have more maneuverability and flexibility to get to places that other cannot: bloated one are too big, armored one are slow from their harden skin, and the mechanize one doesn’t seems to be able to fly yet.
“Targets confirm, begin initiating program of combating multiple flexible opponents.”
HaLOS pulled out the four plasma blade that Azoth has made for it in each of its arm; using the sensory data, it locked on the thralls that are latching on the building and drawing out a sequence of maneuver in order to hit them all at once. Since these things can spit out venom, HaLOS need to be quick if it were to dodge out of the projectile.
“Targets lock, trajectory calculated; activating the ignition booster now.”
With that, HaLOS’ rocket booster started to emit hot blue flame, creating enough force to push it forward near Mach 2 speed toward its targets with his plasma blade. Anything it strike won’t have enough time to even comprehend what just happen to them before they got slice off like warm butter with its blades.

Sanduleak hung off the side of the bike by one hand, scanning the area as heard information that lethal force was allowed.
"Thank god I don't think I'd be able to handle without it."
He shook his head to clear it as he began to quickly make calculations, absentmindedly making a bridge or ramp for his ride as they drove around, and soon he had the numbers right. With a bright flash seven Sanduleaks appeared, nodded, and flew off to keep near clusters of supers and provide support with shields and guns of light and interfere with the Dragon's spores, he wasn't allowing these things a chance to evolve or change anytime soon.

It was clear to Balance that these spores might be more of a problem than she thought. She could feel her healing abilities working overtime to undo the damage as it was caused. She needed to get above this. Seeing a fire escape she climbed it above the spores. From her vantage point she could see supers emerge onto the scene. Good, they were needed. The sudden voices and the portals that they emerged from were a bit surprising at first. However, reliable communication should make this catastrophe go a bit smoother. Plus, her eyes scanned beneath her, it led her to the main hero horde.
A familiar hoodie drew her eye and made her look closer. It seemed that a certain hero had survived the last dragon after all. It also seemed as if they all had gas masks. Excellent. If there were any extras then it would give her healing abilities a rest. Finding a way off her perch she made her way over. An unused gas mask was left unattended nearby so she quickly cleared it of spores and put it on. The message left by Seraphim was disheartening but hardened her resolve. To her right was a hooded figure yelling at the bloated beings to stay still. The her left, a large mechanized thrall was being assaulted by a fiery midget. Brandishing her blade she stalked to the left, determined to slice the thrall to bits.

"With you at my side, I'm certain we could set the entire world ablaze, but yes let's settle for showing this filth what happens when they interfere with the sins."
Pride had very heh proud smile on his face when he saw Wrath set off to wipe the mechanized ones off the face of their planet. It would be wrong of him to allow only her to deliver punishment to these beasts, but it was when he heard a growl of the heavily armored ones that he clenched a fist with such speed and force it caused a miniature boom. If it believed itself worthy of interrupting his thoughts and able to handle his fury, so be it. He didn't care if it was a human before or not anymore, they should feel honored to be killed him.
"I shall hit all of you in the time it would take you to blink."
With his declaration, he was gone a small puff of spores and dust left in his wake as he flew forward with a corkscrew to disorient the one in front of him. As he got closer to the crowd he began dashing side to side, throwing wide right and left hooks into all of them to both contain and kill them, there was no way they could match his speed or strength, he was Pride, the deadliest of the seven deadly sins.

That's my favorite client. Toko allowed himself a smile as he saw the communication hub being set up, much more organized than last time even though this dragon had taken the city much more by storm. He glanced around at the current army they faced, it was imposing to say the least and unfortunately odds were not in their favor, though that at least did not appear to stop them with the last dragon so that should not matter. What mattered was that he was hired to kill a target and protect his client, a contract he intended to follow to the letter. His first target would be the immobile ones, he had a trick he wished to use on them and would prefer they not try anything. He reached into his case and removed a beating heart with blackened veins. He held it out in his hand and focused on the non-moving masses.
"Animus animis vestris et eritis omnes moriuntur ita subsistit."
With that latin chant, a black spark flew from his hand into the heart and ceased it's beating. The message should fly into them thanks to his killer intent, making them believe that this heart that had stopped was in fact their own.
