"...Sooooooooo...probably shouldn't take you there for this lunch thingy, nah kidding completely different place"
Shane murmured kind of awkwardly before grinning as he headed the opposite direction of the ice creamery, he was not going to mention how that place was his second option.
"Well aren't you the coolest and sweetest person, I may take ya up on that offer when I need treat...definitely not during work hours."

"Oh, I don't know. I eat there myself sometimes. Perks of ice cream: I don't have to worry about getting sick of what I serve." She hoped not. Talk about a major bummer. she beams at the compliment, hearing the pun involved but letting it slide.
"My work hours, or yours?" she asks, eyes bright.

"Yeah that's a good point, I can share with that if you can't by my playing habits."
He snickered before quickly becoming serious faced as he placed a hand on his chest.
"Mine obviously, for I am a responsible employee who does nothing but work when he's at work...that sounded more believable in my but anywho we are here."
The seriousness had lasted a grand total of 5.7 seconds, ending with him laughing as he pointed at the small soda shop they almost passed. It an old timey feel, with miniature jukeboxes and a multitude of soda fountains.
"We're probably having ice cream, but it'll least be a little lighter...cause it'll probably be floats alright I'm just gonna hush with the puns for a bit before ya hit me."
His little tirade ended with opening the door and giving a small bow, just cause he was a massive dork didn't mean he couldn't also be an awkward gentlemen

"Who would ever think otherwise?" She asks in false shock. Even Kasey has a limit on the amount of puns she can take before she starts to stifle her dread.
"That sounds like a good idea," she agrees with a smile, sailing through the door that's opened for her and taking in the decor of the vast array of fountains.
"This is a really nice place! I can't believe I haven't heard of it before now."

"For starters my boss I think, don't know why."
Shane quickly followed, glancing around to see what drink he'd go for that day. Probably something sweet, sugary, and highly caffeinated...what could go wrong?"
Yeeeah it's a little small and kinda new, found it while searching for the arcade when I first came here, used to be up the street but then a super decided to go on a sugar rush and poof that building was gone...I got a theory there's probably some secret Super insurance for situations like that."
After sharing his crack pot theory, he hopped up on to a stool and span around once to get another quick look around at the selection. The old man of an owner appeared to use to this judging by the shaking of his head while he went about getting a pair of cup he assumed he'd need.

"Clearly he's just assuming," Kasey agrees with a serene nod that does nothing to convey sincere belief in her statement. Listening to the explanation, she can't help but like the place. It had a bit of flair that was all its own, still in business despite the super that had destroyed it the first time. She suppresses a sigh at the thought and hops up on a nearby stool.
"Well, I bet corporations have something like that." Crack theory or not, it made sense. "I mean, some of them would probably eat it up, right? Publicity and money?" She pauses to offer the owner a friendly smile and a wave, the gesture turning into a full on stretch as she makes her decision.

"Two things that help this little world, like my chair, go around."
Shane replied as he spun around, clearly unable to hold back a pun here and there but at the very least was keeping it to a minimum. Putting a foot down to stop his spin, he looked up in thought at the menu, should he go with his usual or try one of the newer things. Decisions, decisions.
"Got any idea whatcha want? Cause I don't have a clue."

"Unfortunately." She sighs and sits upright, shaking her head. In places of money, movie stars, or even getting somewhere in life, a person needed them.
"Yeah." Nodding at his question, Kasey offers Shane a smile, turning away from the train of thought. "I'm gonna try the raspberry Italian soda." She chuckles. "There's a lot to choose from, tor sure. Why not try something new?"

"Good point, good point, good point."
Shane agreed with three nods before wondering about what to choose. The Italian soda sounded good, but he didn't want to copy her choice.
"I'll go with the cherry Italian soda but throw in a bit of cola."
It was an odd combination but it sounded good to him at least, and hopefully it wouldn't put him into too much of a sugar high...unlikely but there could be hope.

"I have those sometimes." She nods approval at his choice, the two of them a pair of bobble heads as they order, then wait.
Yay waiting.
"So, I know you're a student at Emerald U, you know I'm thinking about it and I have brothers who have jaded me to the ways of your puns. Mostly." She turns her stool to face him.
"What about you?"

Yay waiting, he totally wasn't impatient, clearly shown by his leg bouncing up and down like freaking jack rabbit.
"What about me?"
He tilted his head a bit confused at the question as he spun to face her.
"My addiction to puns or the emerald U thing. Cause I'll be honest I got no clue bout the school thing and- was that jaded thing a pun?"
Bouncing around topics and slightly crazy sounding seemed to be a habit of Shane's. Rubbing the back of his head, he laughed a little awkwardly before glancing up in thought.
"If it's puns we're talking about, I don't know, an old friend of mine said a bunch of them and I kinda picked up. I had a wit for it and it just became an addiction plus it makes conversations interesting and easy to annoy people who annoy me."
It was like eighty percent the truth and hopefully that'd be good enough.

For once, Kasey's dealing with someone who functions on random as well as she can, and does it well. She shifts so she can lean back a little, but doesn't hook her feet around the bar holding the legs of the stool together. Her balance stays on point as she shifts back, settling in.
Absolutely nothing of what he had explained was what she had asked for, but after a moment, Kasey nods. It was her own fault for not being more specific.
"I guess it's a hard habit to break," she chuckles. "So, how many friends try to hit you up for free game time at work?"

"You have no freaking idea how hard, and uh not many cause not a lot know about my work...and it's totally not because I've got the number of friends less than the number of fingers on one hand."
Shane chuckled a bit, glancing away in 'genuine' nervousness before rubbing the back of his head.
"But seriously I'm cool with a game here and there for free, occasionally it usually results in bets and losses and me laughing in victory, I may have a slight gambling addiction...and be slightly evil, only slightly."

"i can't imagine that." Kasey shakes her head, trying to picture someone as energetic as Shane being alone. Maybe in small bursts, but she couldn't see it being a long term thing for him.
"I'll have to keep that in mind, the friends and the addiction." Her eyes go wide at the mention of his being evil, studying him very carefully.
"You're evil?" she stage whispers.

"Well I'm hoping my number of friends just went by one considering I've skipped work, paid for a couple things, and made them laugh more than once."
With a grin and conspiratorial nod, Shane leaned in closely.
"Yuuup, never take a bet with me, I'm worse than devil when it comes to those small deals...plus I really get a kick out of driving pretentious pricks insane."
He had an obviously satisfied grin as he sat back, happy at the thought of some idiots who he'd put down.
