It was late into the night, most people were in the homes fast asleep and awaiting the new day. But night time was like happy hour for mischievous criminals to wander around the city and hope to cop a quick buck. One particular villain? Could you even call him that? He was more like a nuisance to the law enforcement of Emerald City but he still posed a threat. He was still a thief, however he's help citizens of Emerald City on several occasions. Who was he? Whose side was he on? And why was he stealing if he had some sense of justice? It was those questions that drove some of the police to try and nab the young super. Not only to get him off the streets but to also understand supers like him better. But that was a story for another day, today, or rather tonight was Calico's favorite past time. What jewelry store should he hit up and rob? Oh there were so many of them, and while he didn't hit the mom and pop shops the big corporate jewelers were in constant fear of Calico. They feared to wake up and find their livelihood gone. They should've thought of that before buying their diamonds from third world countries that use child labor to get these diamonds in the first place. Calico's morals were all over the place, but again another story another day. Time to focus at the task at hand. Tonight seemed like the perfect night to go big, so the main target was the biggest jeweler chain out in Emerald city. He already knew how to break and everything. He had cased the place weeks ago when his grandmother wanted to check the place out. Old ladies taking ages to look at stuff paid off this time. This was a great place to hit. They had lots of jewels and he could easily make a killing off the black market. And why would he do this? The animal hospital needed more funds to look after all the animals that arrived injured from the dragon attack. Of course the greedy backers don't want to pay up so Calico decided to take matters into his claws. Calico was on the rooftop to a building adjacent to the jewelry store. He was making sure that no one was around to see him break in. That they would be able to in the first place. But one could never be too careful. With a pair of binoculars in hand, the black cat suited thief was scanning the front entrance and down both sides of the streets. It was then he noticed, there were so many cats down there. It was odd, bizarre even. He was aware that a lot of cats suddenly risen up to fight off the dragon. But now they were here? And it seemed that the group would continue to increase as more cats joined the group that was there. "Hmmm~ Well well well what do we have here?" The blonde murmured delightfully as he looked to see where the source of the cats was coming from. It had to be a super, there was no reason for all these cats to be here unless it was a super. Now the thief was curious. He await to see if they would come if not he would have to quickly strike before the cats were given any orders. As cute as they were, he couldn't allow them to walk out with his pay day. Tag: Big Martin

A small army of cats had already begun to fill the streets near the jewelry store, and more were arriving by the minute. Unlike the usual mangy strays that roamed the dark alleys of Emerald City by night, these were hearty and healthy cats, organized into tight squadrons who were already positioning themselves for a full-on assault. Big Martin didn't do things subtly- he arrived, took a quick look around, and then swarmed everything with furry minions. The cats were eagerly anticipating the order to move out, whispering among themselves. Silent orders were distributed between them, and they replied aloud, speaking in clear (if a little squeaky) English. Advance squad in position?
A black cat, hiding inside a ventilation shaft within the target building, quickly answered. "Yes, Big Martin! We've infiltrated, and are ready to open the gates. No hiccups so far, awaiting further orders!" Excellent. Main squad leaders, anything to report?
Several cats, each one leading one of the groups that were gathering outside, answered the call. "All forces at the ready, teeth and claws all sharp!" "Ready to move in!" "Is it time yet?" Not time just yet. From some distance away, where he was hiding away with the reserve force, Big Martin smiled. Just a few more checks to run. Recon squad, any anomalies to report?"
A grey-haired cat answered this time, in a serious tone. "Three security guards in the target area, though we think one may be asleep. Also... we think there may be something on the rooftops. Can't be sure, but may be worth a check." Big Martin frowned, his concern felt by each and every cat in his legions. Hm. Don't want any unknown factors interfering. We still have a few minutes before go time... so why don't you send some boys up, and have a look around. If you find someone, jump on them, and try to hold them still until I get there.
"Of course, Big Martin!" With a swift volley of orders, the grey-haired cat sent those around him scurrying off into the shadows, climbing and leaping up pipes, walls, windowsills, and anything else they could get their claws into to reach the rooftops. Within moments, Calico Cat would find that he had company- and if he didn't act fast, he would soon find himself being chased down like a mouse!

Calico continued to peep at the group of cats that had amassed at the front of the jewelry shop, his enhanced hearing allowed him to catch some of their conversation. It seemed that these cats were apart of some fleet and they were speaking to a leader? They had squeaky voices and everything, it was too cute but he wouldn't have the time to focus on it. He heard claws scraping against the bricks of the building. It looked like he was spotted and whoever their leader was had sent a squadron of cats after him. Calico sighed and placed the binoculars on the edge of the rooftop, he couldn't hope to take that with him if he was going to make a quick escape. Calico darted towards the left most of the building. His footsteps were silent and would fall deaf on most ears as he ran to the edge of the building and somersaulted over to the closest building, it was smaller than the one he was sitting on so jumping on to it was not that difficult. The cat themed thief landed on his feet quietly and continued to zip across the building and made sure to stay within the shadows. He wasn't sure if that would help being that cats could see well in the dark. Incase that didn't work he decided to jump across another building and would continue down the block until he reached the intersection where the buildings across the street were close to the ones on his side. Calico was still a way up and the people would not notice him jumping across to the other side of the street. Calico checked for a moment to see if the cats followed him, if they did he would continue to try and lose them. If not he would make his way up the street and back to the jewelry store. He was going to get his and he wasn't going let an army of cats stop him from....helping them? it was strange occurrence indeed. He couldn't wait to see who the leader was. Tag: Big Martin

Cats were known for their excellent vision and hearing, and Big Martin's recon squad were the best among all his legions. Calico Cat was stealthy as could be, all but impossible for any human to track, but these were no mere humans! Leaping rapidly across the rooftops, they gave chase. Swift and silent, graceful and acrobatic, both the Cat and the cats danced across the skyline, an unseen hunt through the night. However, while the super's stealth had not proven enough to elude his feline pursuers, he had another advantage: size. The cats had incredible agility, and could navigate the tricky environment in the dark with ease, but Calico had that same agility, and also possessed longer limbs and greater strength. Though they made a brave attempt of it, Big Martin's minions simply could not keep up with him, and eventually came to a stop, panting heavily. "We found a person, Big Martin, and we chased him... but he was too fast! Can't see him now." That so? Must have been a very interesting person, then. Shame he got away, but with any luck we'll have scared him off. Recon squad, back to positions. Advance squad, begin the heist! As the trackers climbed down off the rooftops and returned to lookout duty, the felines who had cunningly infiltrated the jewelry store sprung into action. These were small cats, able to squeeze into tight spaces, and they'd managed to get inside the ventilation system and find a loose grate. Now, they shoved their way out, bursting forth into the store itself and jumping on the guards. These were trained security men, ready to deal with thieves at a moment's notice- but nothing could have prepared them for this! Two reached for guns, one reached for an alarm, but the cats were faster, leaping onto their heads and hands and arms and latching on. The advance squad was only a fraction of Big Martin's force, but there were still dozens of them, and within moments the guards had been overpowered and pinned to the floor, struggling beneath the weight of the furry swarms attacking them. "Got the humans inside, Big Martin!" On my way, one minute out. It's showtime!
Outside the store, the cat swarm was closing in, gathering outside the windows, but still leaving a path between their ranks, clearing the way for something to run straight at the storefront. Moments later, it became clear that that something was. From down a nearby road, the reserve force came charging- and this squadron was not merely another army of housecats. Lions and tigers and leopards were racing towards the store, moving at an incredible pace and overwhelming anything before them. At their head, riding on a massive lion, was a man practically covered in cats- on his head, on his shoulders, on his back, on his arms, claws hooked into him and hanging on all over, so many that it was difficult to tell who was underneath. To anyone who'd been following recent events in the city, however, the answer was evident: Big Martin was here. Geronimoooooooooo!
The huge cats were closing in, and it would only be seconds before they crashed into the storefront. The building had been reinforced, and the glass was bulletproof- but there was little that could stand up to several hundred pounds of tiger tearing into it at full speed.

The rooftops remains ever so silent, for five minutes Calico waited until he was sure the cats were no longer pursuing him. After five minutes he stepped out from showdown and made his way back up the block to the Jewelry store. On his way there, the cat thief noticed the cat swarm down below were making room for something. From blocks down Calico could hear movement, it was heading this to the store. It must be the leader that have been controlling these cats. Calico jumped to the rooftop of the jewelry store and peeped from the edge to get a glimpse of a man covered in cats. Unfortunately for Calico his civilian counterpart had not been keeping up to date with the news and had no idea who the man was. But Calico had no time to ponder the probabilities of the man's identity. This guy was creeping up on Cal's territory, robberies was his thing. He cased out this place, and this guy just comes in with a literal army of cats to steal whatever he wanted he supposed. Calico moved away from the edge and went to the opened vent that was located on top of the building, the cats must've used it to get inside as well. Calico had the blueprints checked out from the archives located in the library. He knew the went had two exits, one that would lead to the main lobby where the security guards sat and the second one lead to the front of the safe. However a giant fan was the only thing standing in between Calico and the jewels. But with the cats swarming the place, the power has to be off or else the police would be alerted to the crime. Calico slid into the vent and began to make his way to the safe, as he passed the first exit he saw all the cats that were swarmed on the guards. Both cats and guards would not be able to stop him. He continued on to the second exit and noticed the fan was off. The thief quickly slipped past the large blades and landed lightly before the safe. It didn't look like the cats got back here yet. Looks like they were awaiting their commander who was on his way. Calico theoretically had time to break the safe open and take what he could. With that thought casted aside he quickly went over to the safe, attempting to break into it. A bigger company meant a more expensive safe, it was really state of the art, but Calico was better. He would have this opened in no time if no distractions were present. But with the cats here he had to focus both on the safe and the vent and entrance to the back room where the safe was being held. He didn't like being caught off guard and captured. Tag: Big Martin

With a thunderous crash, Big Martin and the lions and tigers he'd brought with him tore their way through the whole storefront, smashing through reinforced glass, metal blinds, and even parts of the wall. Most of the security guards fainted at the sight, as the massive predators prowled into the fancy shop, forming a defensive perimeter around their leader, who now strode forth confidently, hands on hips.
"You found the keys yet?"
A small cat ran up to him, two sets of keys jangling in its mouth. It dropped them at his feet. "Got them, Big Martin!"
The man smiled beneath all the cats climbing over him, and reached down to scratch the messenger behind the ear. "Well done. Join the others outside." He looked back at the big cats, and pointed at a tiger. "Bale, you come with me. Let's go crack that safe open."
Alarms were ringing, and lights flashing red as Big Martin and his powerful minion walked calmly to the back of the store, unlocking doors as they went. The police would be on their way, but now- but his armies of smaller cats would be swarming the area around the store by now, making it impossible for the officers to get close until it was too late. Meanwhile, he had the keys. These wouldn't open the safe- that would be protected by a more complex lock, no doubt -but they made getting there very easy, as he could simply unlock any doors in his path. As for the safe itself, he had a plan for cracking that.
He reached a large pair of doors, which according to his scouts was the last one before the safe. The tiger waited close behind him as he fumbled with the keys. "Should be just in here..."
Before he could open it, however, one of the cats on his head spoke up, whispering in his ear. "Wait. I smell something, from inside. Is it one of ours?"
Big Martin frowned. "No, there's shouldn't be anyone at the safe yet. Which means we have company." He glanced at the tiger beside him. "Be ready for a fight. Might be a guard in there or something." He slid a key into the lock, turned it, and slowly opened the door.

While Big Martin was busy storming the place, maybe looking cool or however he looked Calico managed to unlock the safe. He has seen one similar to it and remembered how the lock combination worked on that one. Amazingly it worked! Must have been the same company that made the safe. Calico headed inside and grabbed paws full of diamonds and other jewels like sapphires, rubies, and whatever looked expensive really. He could make a lot of money with this and that money could go to the animal hospital he knows or even the wild life preservation for predator cats. Bengal tigers that were still somewhat in danger could use a huge hand. Calico was just exiting the safe with a bag full of jewels when he heard the door unlock and the man covered in cats, Big Matin was inside and there was a tiger right behind him. "Oops, speak of the devil." Calico murmured as he used a foot to close the safe shut, if that guy wanted jewels he'd get it himself. "Nyah, Well...this is a rather interesting turn of events isn't it?" You know like Nya. Calico turned his head to the side as a cat would and looked at the other cats that were covering Big Martin. A few he recognized as house pets of a few clients that went to Emerald City Pet haven Animal hospital. The thief wondered if he was manipulating the cats or the he gave off a weird cat vibe that made the cats loyal to him. It was something he'd have to ask later, clearly they were no going to let him walk out with the bag of jewels. So he was going to have to fight his way out. Tag: Big Martin

In a city so filled with supers, one could expect to run into anything. Nevertheless, Big Martin was quite surprised to find a young man dressed like a cat raiding the jewel safe he'd been after. Was this some kind of fan? No... this person didn't look like they were going to just hand over their prize. It was some other super, one he hadn't heard of before, likely taking advantage of the chaos Martin caused to rob this place himself.
Taking a slow step forwards, Big Martin reached through the cats that were climbing all over him and scratched his head. "You could say that. Nice costume, by the way."
The question remained, however: what was he going to do with this guy? He had no idea what his powers might be, though they probably involved speed stealth, seeing as he'd managed to reach the safe so quickly. With a tiger on his side, Big Martin could probably take him. However, police sirens were already sounding in the distance. If Martin was going to get away, he'd need to do so fast, and a fight with another super could take too long, especially against someone as slippery as this guy.
The tiger next to him began to move, but he held out one hand, stopping it. He might be a criminal, but he wasn't a vicious one. Better to try and talk first, rather than immediately jumping to a brute force solution.
He folded his arms. "Sorry to barge in on you like this, I thought I'd be the only one robbing this place tonight... Still, this is just a coincidence, so I can't exactly blame you for it." Slowly, he extended a hand. "So, instead of resorting to violence, how about we make a deal? You give me half the jewels you've got there, I let you keep the other half, and we help each other escape safely. Honor among thieves- and I'd say there're plenty of diamonds to go around."

Calico grinned, nodding in approval of the compliment, he worked really hard fixing up the suit after he found it at his home. Only someone in covered with cats with a Tiger behind him could appreciate something like this. Speaking of Tigers the one that was standing behind Big Marin was gearing up to attack Calico. No problem he was ready to fight to. As he was getting into position Big Martin raised a hand, which stopped both the Tiger and Calico stopped. Martin turn to Calico and explained he wasn't expecting anyone else to rob the place and that this was a horrible inconvenience for both of them. It would be best if they just split the diamonds, honor among thieves and all that jazz. Calico tilted his head and thought about it for a moment, he could hear the police outside they were getting ready to start something far worse then both could handle. Well the horde of cats would over power them but things could get messy. Calico didn't come here for a fight, just to sneak in grab a few gems and scamper out as fast as he could. The guy, Big Martin sounded very sincere. He truly wasn't expecting Calico. Vice versa on Cal's end, and he didn't want to fight. Neither did Cal. At last he looked down to the other's hand. Calico chuckled, his canines were far sharper then a normal human's and he slipped his hand into the others and shook it. "Alright mew got yourself a deal. But there's no time to purrceed and split these diamonds. Meet me at the top of the Purrity Paws Pet Supply Corporate building. The furst building at the center of this district." Calico walked over to where the vent was and crouched down, prepared to jump up back into the vent. "Mew can trust me. A Purromise is a Purromise." Calico jumped up with quite the finesse and climbed back inside the vent to head back to rooftop, he was going to head for the building first. After all a promise is a promise. Tag: Big Martin

The guy in the cat suit shook Big Martin's hand, agreeing to his proposal with a barrage of cat-related puns. Apparently, Martin was no longer the only super in Emerald City with a thing for the adorable creatures. If anything, this young man seemed even more enthused than he was about the whole feline theme, dropping references to them in every other word. It made Martin glad they didn't have to fight, for they seemed to have similar tastes when it came to both animals and robbing places. He nodded. "Oh, I trust you. Enough to believe you're going where you say, at least. I'll see you there- don't be late." This was half a lie: Big Martin didn't exactly trust this thief, but he trusted his scouts, the cats who would be watching outside. They'd make sure this temporary partner in crime took the goods to where he said he was going, and would alert Big Martin if they saw him trying to run off with them himself. Hopefully, however, he'd know better than to cross Martin and his armies. The tiger and its master stood and watched as Calico Cat clambered back up into the ventilation system, before turning and leaving the room. They needed to hurry, the police would be closing in and the furry legions could only hold them back for so long. Plus, if they weren't quick about getting away, a Bulwark might show up, and they were always a pain to deal with. Wasting no time, they raced towards the lobby, where the other big cats were crouched low, taking cover while the yowling armies outside clashed with slowly advancing police forces. Big Martin bit his lip, considering the situation. He'd no doubt that his cats could get away- if they scattered, there was no way the police could chase all of them -but he himself could be in trouble here: if the police spotted him riding away, they'd send all their cars after him, block off streets and cut him off. He needed a distraction... His eyes glanced around the room, before alighting on the security guards who'd been pinned down by his cats earlier. All right, boys and girls, keep these guys restrained. We're going to be using decoys.
The guards had stopped struggling by now, knowing that any attempt to run or attack would result in them getting tackled by a lion or something, but they were still covered in cats, to help make sure they stayed still. Now, Big Martin grabbed one and pulled him to his feet. "You. Get on the tiger. Now." The man looked back at him frightened and confused, as Martin shoved him onto a tiger's back. "Stay there." He proceeded to do the same with two more, before hopping onto a lion himself. Looks like we're ready- let's go!The lions and tigers with guards on them and the one carrying Big Martin burst into motion all at once, bounding out the front of the store and heading in four different directions. The guards had been wearing uniforms, but now they were covered in cats, impossible to tell apart from the real Big Martin in the dark. Tires screeched and engines roared as police cars accelerated, trying to give chase, but they couldn't pursue all four at once, especially not with smaller cats jumping on the windshields to distract them. The mess would allow Big Martin to make a clean escape- and hopefully create enough of a distraction for Calico Cat to get away as well. The lion carrying Martin would head to the designated location, dropping off its master and the base of the building before vanishing into the night, while the man covered in cats began to slowly clamber his way up a fire escape to the roof.
