"Awww, come on, sweetheart! My boyfriend's going to be here in, like, 5 minutes. Just let me in to wait for him, please?" This time the bouncer literally turned Lucy around and pushed her, due to the fact she was kinda blocking the line. She frowned and turned to leave, taking out her phone.
*OMG, Daniel, they're having some stupid couples night at our club and only couples can get in! What the hell!? Wait, can you, like, pretend to be my boyfriend or something, we can just say we're not twins!* *I haven't been in our club in forever so I would say yes, but I'm supposed to be painting so I really can't, stupidly enough.* *Well, what am I going to do?* *Easy, just ask a stranger, you're pretty enough!* *God you're smart! I'll do that, see you, sweetie!*
She put her phone back in her purse, looking around. She's going to need to pick a cute person, she's not going in unless they fit her standards! Ugh, the line's getting longer, she's never getting in unless she acts now! She latched onto the arm of a passerby, putting on her best smile. "Hi there! Can I ask a little favor? Seriously, it's a super little favor. Can you pretend we're, like, a couple 'cause that club's only letting couples! Pretty please?"

The night was young, the moon hanging in the air like a pearl, glittering with possibility. The buzzing of life was all around him, people chattering excitedly about all of the little unimportant things in life. Every single one of them insignificant ants. All of them one of a kind pieces of art. Irreplaceable and perfect. Without any of them the world would be so different, so bleak, so beautiful.
On a night such as this he sauntered through the streets of downtown, his Burger King paper crown slightly askew on his head. Between that and the way that he walked with one arm out and hooked, like he was walking with an invisible companion he had drawn more than one set of eyes. But it mattered not, one could not let fear of other's outlook on you dictate how you lived your life. Robbing yourself of opportunity and chances was to wasteful to consider.
And so it was no surprise to Cheshire when a young woman latched on to his arm at random. Her arm slipping perfectly inside of his hooked arm. Her best smile was returned with a glimmering one of his own.
"Favors are what I deal in my dear. And if you are willing to take a chance with me I'll help you here."

"Ooh, you're, like, a bit mysterious, right? Except for that crown but I can so fix that, 'k?" Lucy took the crown from his head, thank God for her heels or she might not be able to reach his fake crown, and placed it on her own head.
She pulled the stranger into the line with her, waving as the bouncer spotted her again. "Hello again sweetheart! See? Here's my boyfriend, that I just said was coming! Next time, maybe you can, like, not be asshole to me next time, ok?" She entered the club before the bouncer could ask or just say anything to her or the stranger. She didn't let go of the stranger as she walked over to the tables, looking towards the dance floor very intensely.
"Ugh, they're playing a slow song, I want, like, a hip hop song, you know something to dance to! Actually dance to. Oh, by the way, I'm Lucy, just in case someone asks, 'cause what boyfriend doesn't know his girlfriend's name?"

He giggled when she placed his crown atop her own head. Seeing herself as a ruler, though he could see that she had no future ruling alone. This was a queen that couldn't rule without the help of that closest to her. Bound by ties of blood and loyalty. Bonds that couldn't be seen but so tangible that they could be felt. Hardly hidden to those that knew to look, but nearly impossible to sever without the touch of death.
Despite no longer having his crown he'd tip an invisible hat to the bouncer as they passed. The bouncer was unlucky enough to catch a brief moment of eye contact with his silver eye. The orb of moonlight and shadows swirled with possibility, the flash of a young death searing into his mind. A warning should he not watch his cholesterol that he may meet his end on the ivory throne. A ruler of his own castle no more.
"Cheshire my dear, and do not fret for your fast song draws near, though I enjoy a song that's a bit slow." He'd say, sliding his hands onto her hips and moving his body with the rhythm of the slow song that was currently playing. "It allows you to sense and move with your partner's flow."

"Oh my God, seriously!? You're called Cheshire and I'm pretty sure you're, like, rhyming! I mean are you trying to mess with me?" The next thing he said was still kinda confusing but he probably meant that the next song was going to next, right?
Admittedly, Lucy froze as it turned out Cheshire actually wanted to dance to the slow song. Not only was slow song dances pretty boring, she never really practiced dances like this, out of any dance. Still, she did what she knew you were supposed to do, you know, put your arms around the guy's neck and try to match this, really, really boring rhythm.
"Ok, so I know sensing your partner's "flow" is supposed to be cool, especially if you're an actual couple, but is this fast song showing up soon, 'cause I dance way better with a better song than this, like, you wouldn't believe! Well you should believe but you know what I mean!"

"I find that there is little wrong with a rhyme from time to time. Though I must admit woefully that few see the world for it's poetry."
He let her slide her arms around his neck as they moved to the music. A small mirthful sound escaped from his throat at her single minded focus devoted to the speed of the song. So impatient for what was sure to come that they couldn't appreciate the now. Sure, she was going through the motions. But one didn't savor life by going through the motions.
It was simple matter to bleed possibility into the club. Music choices were fickle and small things. It wasn't hard to twist possibility to ensure that the next song would also be slow. Prolonging this moment until he was finished. All while moving to the music enjoying the feeling of soft flesh under fabric. The scent of of mingling with the perspiration, cologne, and perfume of the crowd. The scent of the nightlife.
"I'm sure you move like a dream, but I'm curious about the strength of your desire if you know what I mean. Chance is not in your favor tonight, however should you wish to play a game I can make it right."

"Wait, are you talking about me? Like, I see poetry in basically any music. Just, some is just pretty boring, not fun, you know?" Lucy tried answering as well as she could, seriously, she never talked to guys that talk all weird like this, it's real confusing!
God, this song is dragging on! Oh well, she guessed she could get through this, she was on the dance floor she really likes, she was kinda dancing, and maybe the guy she was with was sorta good-looking.
The next thing Cheshire said was probably the hardest to understand, well the first part was easy, she probably danced real good, which she did, obviously. It's just good he knew that too! The next part took her a few seconds to get but she's pretty sure she eventually got. "So... you mean I'm going to get bad luck or something? God, you mean my song, that's just unfair! Wait a sec, you said you can fix it if I do some game, right? Ooh, I love games, they're all fun!"

"Music can indeed be a dream, but that is not all that I mean."
He'd wink at her, unbothered by the music that set up their little back drop. It was all background noise to him anyways. A mishmash of songs that were all playing, or rather could have been playing had this slow song not be the one he'd selected. Or chance, it made little difference which really.
"Correct, the rules are simple you see. Just answer these questions three honestly. Win the game and win a prize. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise?"

Lucy was quite a bit disappointed by Cheshire's description of the game, "Isn't this basically "Truth and Dare" without the dare?" Guess she'll just have to go with it, maybe it'll be more fun than expected, a bunch of stuff is like that after all!
The prize seemed pretty obvious to her, her fast songs, and yes, that'll be real nice. "'K, I'm ready for the questions, besides they can't be that hard, right?" Sure, she lied sometimes but she could answer honestly, you know?

The smile upon his face took on a bit of a predatory glint as they continued to move with the music, and she agreed to play his little game. A simple way to pass the time and ensure that his night was sublime. Even small things like this needed to be paid for, or at least he preferred for them to be paid for. Nothing of value was free. And sometimes lessons must be charged for just so they mean something.
He'd hold up a single finger to signal that this was the first of his three questions, one that was sure to be the easiest one of the night. And it would be the question that would set the mood for the rest of the evening. To determine which path she'd go down. That of honesty or deceit. Whether he'd be egregious or eleemosynary.
"About you many identities swirl, so give honesty a whirl. Which is the real you? Give me the name that reflects the truth of what you do. No need to worry about who may be near, you may whisper your secret into my ear."
His eyes swirled with color, the gray and red of his eyes seemed to contain a storm that was brewing as he leaned in, shifting his head so that her lips were almost pressed against his ear. She wouldn't need to speak loudly for him to hear her answer.

Lucy smiled, see, this question was an easy one! "Easy, the true me is me. I don't do anything if it isn't me, I'm the dancer 'cause I'm a dancer, but I love the piano too, even if I have to be all proper and stuff! The next thing she wanted to say she debated a bit if she should even tell Cheshire but it wasn't that bad in her opinion so who cares?
"Oh, and there's one last part of me, I guess! Wait, it's more like my brother and me, you know? A bunch of people don't like us when we're like that but I don't see what's so bad about it really! It's always just the most fun ever 'cause I can do anything with him, it's like we're on a stage! All this stuff is me and I'm not going to get rid of any of it. Now how was that for truthful!? It was, like, deep or something!" Sure, it was kinda vague but she's not telling everything, even if this "Truth" game is sorta fun!

"Hmmm."
He'd accept the answer for now. Not a full one, but more than she had been likely to give out. More than most people would have. She would pass so far. He'd continue to move with her and the music, shifting his face once more to remove his ear from her mouth. Rather he slid closer so that his nose was nearly touching hers, his eyes still moving and swirling as he examined the possibilities.
"Everyone has a quest, what desire fits you best?"

Desire basically meant what you want, right? Well, Lucy wanted a bunch of stuff, who doesn't? But if she was supposed to choose one... "I'd like to have a lot of fun! You know what I mean, stuff that make things way less boring! Exciting stuff that gets kinda dangerous but that's, like, the whole point of it. You have to agree even just a little, fun's great!" After all, everything you do is usually fun, if you were bored why would you even do something?
"This "Truth" game is really easy, you know that? Is the last question going to be harder, 'cause I'm doing awesome in this game!"

"One who'd wish for an ancient curse placed upon ones enemies. But one that is boredom's remedy. 'May you live in interesting times' is what they say. You may take that as you may."
He'd say as he slowly stroked her cheek with the back of his left hand. His eyes looking past her toward the entrance that they had come from as they continued to dance. The current song that they were dancing to reaching it's ending point. She believed that the truth game was easy? Well, it was only as easy as you made it, but to him it was always a winner.
"The final question you much face is one which has an impact that is smaller. But I am dying to know your favorite color."
With each passing word Cheshire's face loomed closer and close to Lucy's, the final breath of his sentence dancing across their nearly touching lips as the song switched to one that was much faster. It's beat naturally inclined to dancing. The first few beats of the song were accompanied by the shattering of glass as windows of the club were shot out by canisters that mingled with the light fog around their ankles. Screams rose as the song really fired into gear, the pounding of the feet of the SWAT team almost matching the drum track of their little song.

"I'm going to take whatever you just said as a good thing, alright?" Lucy tried to answer while also trying to figure out what was with this guy. She really felt like he was flirting with her, but she never really talked to people long enough for them to do anything like that. Besides he wasn't even looking at her, seriously, what was he looking at!? She turned her head, but only saw the doors, nobody was even walking in!
Before she could ask about the fact he was looking at pretty much nothing, he asked what was literally the most boring question ever. "Really? That's the last thing you want to ask me!? Fine, my favorite color is-" Before she could finish, not only did her song start playing, the windows broke with some weird canisters getting thrown in. Lucy yelled and pulled Cheshire to the side away from the canisters with her, but she couldn't help but smile. This is exciting, she just got to make sure she isn't knocked out or something! Too bad she couldn't dance right now, she'll just do that after this bust or whatever ended.
She laughed as some SWAT guys ran in, she was right this was a bust! "Oh god, this is like a movie, you know, busting the criminal in a club! Let's go watch, you basically never see stuff like this unless you're really lucky! Oh, by the way my favorite color's red, just to say it!"
