The Laurel Zoo. One of the few places in the grand city where one could find literal lions and tigers and bears, each one stuck in a neat little compartment for the general populace and their drooling tourist compatriots to gawk at for hours on end. A rather pitiful existence, when one thought about it, but the animals didn't really mind. They had food, and shelter, and generally as much space as they needed.
Still, there was a reason the walls and thick glass were in place, a reason why the eager little children could not get close and touch the massive beasts. Each and every one of the creatures here, mighty or small, had their instincts, urges and drives that could make them quite devastating without restraint. One could only imagine what would happen if the monstrous children of the wilds were to be unleashed...
---
The sun was out, the work week was over, and the public had come out in force to take selfies next to every animal they could find. The zookeepers, diligent as they were, had grown sweaty and overworked over the course of the morning- and now, as noon rolled around, they would be tired. Tired people missed things. Tired people were far less likely to notice the small cats sneaking past the throngs, and into the staff-only areas, moving quietly and keeping to the shadows. Even the most common of pet kittens could be practically invisible while on the hunt, and these were no ordinary felines. With care and coordination, they worked as a team, whispering instructions to each other as they went.
"Got the keys?"
"One set! We'll have the others soon enough. Shall we free our brothers?"
"No! Not yet. Big Martin wants the others broken out first, so the humans don't suspect. Take them to the big white thing first. When they panic, we'll seize the other keys- and then none of those hairless imbeciles will be able to stop us!"
With a swift nod, one of the cats scooped up the ring of keys with their mouth, and trotted off towards the polar bear's enclosure.
The massive mammal was lazing about in the heat, lying in the shade near the large pool installed for it to swim in. A few passers-by took a moment or two to glance its way, but few showed great interest in an animal so immobile. The cats waited for a moment where nobody was paying much attention- which came quickly -then made a beeline for the staff area, climbing up on top of each other to reach the lock.
The gate swung open with a metallic squeak, and the great white bear opened one eye, raising its snout a little. This wasn't its feeding time, which meant something was going on. Its other eye opened, and it rose to its feet, as it perceived not the usual zookeeper but a small animal, prancing around and yelling at it. "Come and get me, sucker! You're a hairy tailless slowpoke, and your mother had the face of an Alsatian!
The bear did not understand a word the cat was saying, but it was annoyed by the noise, and enticed by the prospect of a tasty snack. Huffing and puffing, it rose from its sedentary position, and lumbered over with surprising speed, following its prey as the kitty fled through the gate.
Few people had been paying attention to the bear before, but they certainly noticed it now! Screams rang out as the gigantic predator came bounding out into the open, causing a wave of people to flee before it. The noise confused the beast causing it to turn its head to and fro, until it heard the cat yelling at it again, and charged off in pursuit!
With one creature now causing panic, it would be far easier for the multitude of other cats creeping about to reach their objectives- for this was only the beginning! Unless somebody acted fast, many other animals would soon be lured out to wreak havoc. And this was but a screen for the felines' true goal: their brothers, the mighty lions and tigers and cougars! The small cats alone were already a threat, but if they could add some truly powerful hunters to their ranks, nothing in the city would be able to stop them!
---
SCHEME: Release all the large animals at the zoo, and escape with the big cats! Soon, I will be invincible!

The day at the zoo had started like any other for Siren. Sneak past the gate and get in for free, check. Pick up a drink and some popcorn, check. Explore the aquarium and avoid the monkeys, check. She was covertly walking by the penguins in the Arctic area when she heard the first screams of panic, followed by a cat brushing by her legs. She whipped around to see a large polar bear lumbering around outside of it's cage. "Aw crap." She whispered.
The polar bear was distracted from the cat by the sound of a little girl crying. The creature cornered her, sniffing once before roaring in her face. The girl curled tightly into herself, sniffling and shaking in fear. Keeping her invisibility, Siren tossed a stone at the polar bear to gain its' attention. Turning angrily the bear took it's attention off the kid just long enough for Siren to sneak over and grab the girl. Once they were far enough away, Siren reappeared and put her down. "Find your parents. Quickly." She ordered. The girl nodded and ran off. With a sigh Siren shook her head. This trip would be anything but normal.

This month was getting weirder by the day. Emerald City was no stranger to...well, strange occurrences, but this was like something straight out of a sensationalist newspaper; 'Disaster at Zoo! Deadly Animals set loose!'. But apparently it was actually happening. Someone, or something (you never knew with this city), had managed to get unlock the holding pen of the polar bear and set it loose on a rampage. Titan wasn't even supposed to be doing anything today. He decided to hang around the zoo in his leisure time to cool down a bit, then this suddenly happened. Thankfully, the mass panic allowed him to quickly change into his costume without being seen, and he went off towards where this rampaging polar bear was.
Finding it was fairly easy; all you had to do was look for what the people were running from. Because he was in his 'default' size of 10 feet, most people steered clear of him even in their panicked state, saving him the trouble of having to push them out of the way. When Titan spotted the polar bear, his heart skipped a beat when he saw it approach a young girl. Rushing towards the bear in the hopes of stopping it, the girl was suddenly pulled away by some sort of invisible force. That invisible force revealed itself to be...oh. Great. It was that lady from the docks. This day was getting better by the minute.

Though it didn't happen too often, when a super decided to pop in the area it was usually pretty easy to tell. People always caused a ruckus and scattered from the scene, creating the perfect way to trace the chaos back to the source if you were looking for it. Being a reporter very dedicated to his job, Muckraker kept his head down and walked against the crowds. It was easy enough to find where he was going, with open ears and careful calculation.
It sounded like the zoo was in quite a mess, and this much damage in such short time could only mean one thing. A super was causing a mess, just like they always were. Everywhere you looked in this city, supers causing one mess or another no matter what side they were on. At the very least, he wanted to be nearby and get a proper view of everything that was happening. The readers of Behind the Screen deserved timely and informative updates whenever he could manage, for the sake of their own safety. Running as fast as he could, no one paid mind to one more figure in the panic around the front gate. It was easy enough to slip inside and make his way towards the center of it all.
A polar bear, a large white lump of matted fur, was stalking around one of the main walkways. People everywhere were screaming, it's teeth were bared, and it looked... scared. Muckraker could see the look in its eyes, how it flinched away from everyone nearby, how the first reaction to nearly everything was to lash out. It had been kept in captivity for all its life, yelled at through the glass and living in a space far too small for something of its size. No wonder it had grown lethargic in its days here, and the first instinct to the screams had been to attack. This wasn't a super attacking just because it could, but someone taking advantage of what was given to them to fight for something that they cared for.
Bit of a familiar scenario, he thought bitterly at his mask snagged a handful of pictures. Cats were running around the area to all the different cages, and he while he did make sure to keep grabbing shots he didn't really feel the need to put a stop to it.
As long as they weren't actively hurting people, what was the harm in a little revolution?

It was supposed to be a nice day to relax, just one fucking day! So of course the day rebelled against Lobisomem's wishes.
They were cornered by the freedom polar bear, eyes flickering red as it drew closer, sniffing curiously as their feral scent wafted to its nose. Something that could be described as fear burned in its eyes before it snarled and swung a paw at them.
It never made it.
Lobisomem burst forth from their normal human casing and swatted it aside, mouth curled downward as it slammed against the ground and made no attempt to get up. Luckily, no civilians had seen their identity, instead running screaming from a beast that looked as if it belonged in a cage came to be. Sympathy was in their eyes as they realized they had just hurt an animal that had no idea what this place was.
Who the hell did this!?
They nudged the bear, which tried to shuffle away, confirming it was alive, good. But it was the scent that clung to its that was odd, furry, not an creature at the zoo...
Cats?
They jerked up and padded forward, eyes narrowed as they searched for the perpetrators, they needed a little punishment!

Although many of the cats were busy sneaking around and searching for keys, some were quietly watching events unfold- and were quick to note the presence of certain strange individuals trying to contain the threat of the rampaging polar bear. They'd anticipated at least one, but it seemed there were three supers to deal with. What's more, one of them was a former ally, someone they had expected to join their side.
"Big Martin, we have Bulwarks on the scene. Also, the dog master is here, but has turned traitor!"
Unfortunate. But they cannot stop our plans. We will show them no mercy! Quick, open the gates, let loose everything you can!
It was likely that the polar bear would soon be brought under control. However, the cats were one step ahead of their valiant opponents! Mere moments after the great white beast was engaged, a series of howls rang out, as a small pack of wolves came charging forth from their pen, only to come face-to-face with a snorting buffalo that had also been set free.
Experienced supers, especially if they worked with the zookeepers, would no doubt be able to quickly reign in these confused and frightened creatures. But! No matter how quick they were, the cats could be quicker! Unless someone put a stop to the nefarious felines, the day would belong to Big Martin!
The chase is on...

Well, this was a problem. Lobisomem stumbled back as a herd rumbled past, bellowing in a panicked manner.
The wolves were next.
They circled round, gazing upward at this strange beast that seemed very familiar...Suddenly, they seemed to decide it wasn't worth it and trotted off, prompting a sigh of relief from Lobisomem.
They continued onward, hoisting humans out of the way of fangs, claws, and hoofs. This had to stop, someone was going to die.

Siren needed to get this bear handled before she even began focusing on who or what let it out. There were almost too many people for there not to be causalities. She had sworn she saw.... There! Her ginormous friend from the docks! He would be perfect to assist her. "Hey bog boy! I need your strength!" She told him.
"We need to corner this critter! If you can find a way to herd it to the exhibit, I can disorient it enough to make it easier." She told him. Her eyes never left the bear until she saw some one rip off their skin?! God this town got weirder by the day. Seeing the skinless-dog-thing take out the bear she back tracked. "Ok new idea, we follow him and try to keep the rest of the predator's under control." Siren said, chasing after the strange super.

Titan only let out a barely audible grunt when his 'friend' from the docks called him out. Looks like they were going to be working together again, though this time they thankfully didn't start off as adversaries. While they were supposed to initially deal with the loose polar bear, the rest of the animals were suddenly set loose simultaneously. The timing was incredibly suspicious, as if someone did that in response to the appearance of the supers. The fact that they were released at the same time meant either on of two things; either this was the work of a well organized group or a super with the ability to affect multiple things simultaneously was responsible. Either option was strange in of itself, but Titan wasn't thinking of it being both. The woman rushed off towards some strange wolf-dragon thing that managed to take care of the polar bear for them, proposing that they take care of the rest.
Giving an exasperated sigh, Titan followed the woman, but not before dumping it back into its enclosure. As they followed the strange wolf-dragon man, they came across a pack of wolves and a very aggressive buffalo. Taking care of the buffalo first was probably priority, given that they were an endangered species. This was going to be quite the weekend, wasn't it?

A dim light flashed inside of Muckraker's mask, making sure to get a good view of the wolves pouring out into the zoo grounds. And then another, capturing a photo of one of the supers actively attacking the animals. Good, these would make perfect additions to the article he'd be writing later. But how in the world could he help out?
One thing was for certain, between the hulking giant of a man and the lumbering wolf creature he was certain to stay on the outskirts of this battle. There was even a super he hadn't really seen before, probably relatively new to the area with how little he knew of her. It was always good to have a new person to study the actions of, and get that info to the public. Hopefully she'd be more of a close range fighter as well, though he knew not to count on a miracle like that.
Weaving his way expertly through the crowd, Muckraker held up his hand palm outward and listened to the growing hum. The circle on his palm grew even brighter for a moment, the lock on the snakepit melting away into a goopy metallic mud. In for a penny in for a pound. Might as well help out the cause while he was here.

This was good. It seemed like with a the chaos of the animals combined with his normal looking clothes, Muckraker still hadn't drawn any real attention to himself. Now that it had entirely cleared out staying in the cage would probably do more harm than good, causing him to stand out unnecessarily, so he slid out again to camouflage himself among the chaos. Honestly, this was more fun than he'd had in a long while. It helped that he was getting plenty of good pictures, which would be perfect to study a bit later on.
Now what would cause a little bit of an extra commotion? A thought popped into his head, spreading a wicked grin across his face. Keeping his head down as if to hide his mask, the reporter sprinted for the bird area.
"Now this might be a bit Hawkward," he told the nearest cat, unsure if they were honestly sentient but finding the pun a bit too hard to resist. "But you kitties should play nice." A few well placed metal beams turned to mud, and birds were flocking out into the air above their heads.

The cat looked back at Muckraker with something resembling a frown, its eyes flicking back and forth between him and the birds. Finally, it sighed. "Okay, okay, we won't eat them. We've got more important things to do today... and in light of your assistance, Big Martin has deigned to grant you a small favor. Thanks for the help, mud-boy!" It rubbed against his legs, before bounding off to continue its sneaky business.
Meanwhile, although the heroes were containing the worst of it, the hidden Big Martin was satisfied with the chaos so far! A silent order swept out, causing several furry squadrons to perk up and change direction. The time has come to unleash our brothers. Move to the lion and tiger cages, and recruit them for our armies! We will deal with our enemies soon, but our objective comes first!
The Bulwark and his unaligned comrades would find things around them calming down a little, with no further animals being immediately unleashed. But was this an early sign of victory? Or merely the calm before the situation grew even more dire?

As they reached impact, Titan realized he underestimated the sheer force of the buffalo far too late. While he managed to grab onto its horns just in time to prevent a violent goring, he felt the full weight of the buffalo on his chest, pushing most of the air out of his legs. Still gripping the buffalo's horns, Titan was sent sliding backwards until he managed to grind to a halt. With the buffalo's charge now stopped, Titan gathered his resolve and lifted the animal into the air as he had planned. The buffalo struggled as the giant walked towards its pen and threw the animal into it, before barricading the doors to make sure it wouldn't be able to escape yet again. That was one more runaway zoo animal down, but the culprits behind this breakout were still lurking in the shadows. If this merry trio of misfits didn't find them, they could release all of the others to their heart's content.
Looking around, Titan observed what his unlikely companions were doing. The strange dragon-wolf creature seemed to be just sitting where it was, intently looking for...something. Meanwhile, the lady from the docks was using her scream in an attempt to take care of the wolves, but it didn't seem to have much of an effect. Titan shot her a glance; he knew she was holding back, he'd seen what she could really do. Of course, the wolves weren't the only problem now, as somebody released the birds from their own enclosure, where they wreaked even more havoc on the population. Titan would have to get to work containing these problems before he could get to the bottom of this...
