“Seaside goes dark…Officials confirmed quarantine is in effect…speculation of superpowers are involve…”
That’s what the news story said about the situation, but something about this sound very fishy. If Anonymous can still believe, the news people must be hiding something importance that they’re not letting the public know about it. And when something is kept secret, it only peak his curiosity even more than before. Not to mention that there’re many different reason as to why a black-out happen, so the way the news jump in the superpower-bandwagon just sound like some sort of ploy to soil the supers’ names. It could’ve just been his conspiracy-sense going crazy, or there’s a hidden story behind this. Either way, he couldn’t simply leave it alone.
He had already sneaked inside some of the news stations in order to look into this situation, but it seems that none of them even knew what happen. They didn’t burn all the documents that have information about Seaside, right? Even the confidential area doesn’t have any files about the story at all. So either they simply just made the whole thing up, which is just bad journalism, or even they was kept in the dark about this as well. The plot is almost thickening…
“If the news people don’t have the information, then perhaps the government does.”
Usually it’s a stupid idea to break into the city hall, what with the amount of security guards, video cameras, and facial recognition feature that could tell a potential terrorist from miles away. However, if any information of Seaside is kept hidden somewhere, then perhaps the city’s confidential archive might shed some light on the situation. Anonymous had never sneaked into the city hall before, but there’s always the first time for everything.
After weeks of looking at the public blue-print of the building, observed the guards’ patrolling pattern, and what employees allowed to enter the building, he came up with a simple plan. What he need is a proper disguise and a functional ID to get passes the guards up front. It’s a good thing that a certain janitor was so kindly let him “borrow” one of his idea and feeling rather “sick” that day.
“Don’t you worry about a thing,” he said to the sleeping janitor in his van, writhing like he’s having a nightmare, “I’ll give this back before you know it.”
Thanks to the disguise, Anonymous managed to get inside the city hall without raising any alarm. Once he found a proper blind-spot to ditch the disguise, he can begin searching for the archive, pretend to be one of the workers there. --
SCHEME: obtain files about the Seaside incident and get out without getting caught. Simple enough, right?

Anonymous wasn't the only one interested in recovering more information on the incident. There was much more going on and Khan wanted to know as well. Knowledge was power and Khan enjoyed being powerful. He had intended to gain the information himself, but it someone was one step ahead of him. A natural competiveness makes Khan want to turn it into a race, but why fight someone willing to do all the work? Khan stands atop a rooftop across the street, looking for the best angle as Anonymous goes inside.

In some ways, Azoth hated the newspaper. Most of the time it was dull and consisted of the ramblings of people in glass offices on whatever topic they deemed most important. Only every once in awhile did it contain a story of the slightest bit of interest to her, and even then it was a twisted wish. Journalists never knew enough or went as in depth on such topics so as to satisfy Azoth, and so she was always left to do her own research. This had happened with a story on Seaside, telling of quarantine. Besides obviously screaming of a relation to supers, this raised all sorts of questions in Azoth's mind, none of which were or would be answered by the lack luster knowledge of the press. So she was out again, searching for answers. Last time that meant scouring the internet for any signs of a quack doctor, robbing a lecture hall, and trading information with a Pandaemonium of all people. This time, it apparently meant breaking into town hall.
Great minds must think alike, as by chance Azoth had come to the same place, on the same night, at the same time as the unaligned super. All for Seaside, the mysterious and apparently suddenly very popular neighbor to Emerald City. Unlike him, however, she didn’t need maps or an ID - all she needed was a back door.
The once locked door opened without resistance. Security cameras were already down in this area, their power wires mysteriously cut. Azoth strode into the empty hallway unopposed. A security electrical box, one of the electrical hubs the security system was connected to, was now gone. Official map of the place now in her mind, gleaned from the locations of all of the security cameras, Azoth departed for the archives. As she went, lights above her went out and security cameras broke. She didn’t even bother with fog - she’d be arriving soon, and these government workers posed no threat to her. This would be simple.

Arcanum casually scratched the back of his neck as he continued walking the rounds through city hall. Of all the various shapes and transformations preformed on a regular basis, something about being a dude always felt a little uncomfortable. Girls were much nicer, but finding one to impersonate for this infiltration job required waiting too long. He didn't have loads of time to sit around wait for the most convenient option to magically work out like that.
That blackout couldn't last forever, and finding out why communication to Seaside had been cut off. Although revealing the information might pay off with the organization, but Arcanum wasn't interested in any favors tonight. This was one of the rare personal situations he couldn't really ask for help with.
Way back in the day, before getting involved in any superpower nonsense, he used to live there. Seaside was the closest Arcanum had to a home town. Hell, his parents probably still lived there. He didn't know. He hadn't called in a while, and the media blackout wasn't making this any easier. What were they going to do about Father's Day? This government bullshit was getting in the way of family fun, and that's not okay.
The best people to ask were probably stuck in the middle of. . . whatever situation, but he wasn't asking for much. Honestly, if Arcanum found out the damn city still existed, he'd be satisfied for the evening. That required getting as far into the building as possible, which meant pretending to be this Steven Rodriguez, idiot security. The real man was enjoying his night off by taking a nap in the building next door. Right now, Arcanum needed to borrow his uniform for the hour. He had a better reason to be in here.
OPPOSE: I want that information. Mostly out of hatred towards Anonymous, but who knows?

'This window?' 'No.' ''K! This one?' 'Nope!' 'Ugh...! What about this one!?' 'Oh, this one's the one!' 'Oh my God! Finally!'
The fused form of Double Dealer peeked inside the chosen window, they were pretty sure this one was the security room 'cause of all the TVs in the room that showed only a bunch of boring places and boring people. What else could it be? Double Dealer pulled their face away from the window and unceremoniously punched at the glass shattering it, and, to their delight, setting off an alarm. You know, it was like a time limit to turn it off and take away suspicion!
'Ooh! I got it! You go get the guy and I'll turn that alarm off! This is so exciting!' I know! Just make sure we get the info, they're probably not letting us into some, you know, super secret info until we get super secret info, which is just unfair!'
Double Dealer split into the pair, the man rushing the security worker, covering his mouth so he can't call for help, the woman slamming a few buttons, nobody in the pair knew anything about this stuff so she was just guessing, until the alarm fell silent and she turned, doing a small victory dance.
'Ha! I did it! So, now I just look at the TVs and we'll memorize it, right? And... almost done...! Hey! A bunch of cameras just went out!' 'Wait, wait! Didn't we hear a bunch of other supers want this info first?' 'So! Un! Fair! We never get to bring info back!' So we'll just bring it back before anybody else! Hey, can you ask this guy to shut it this time? I'll check the outside.'
While the man opened the door, looking for any guards, the woman smiled sweetly up at the terrified security man, "Thanks for letting us in, really! I just have to tell you something 'k? Keep anyone except us out of this room, don't tell anybody what just happened, just say the alarm was, like, a false alarm and nothing bad will happen to you! See you later sweetheart!" She waved then followed her partner outside to the hallway, ready to follow the incomplete map in their heads.
'Alright, done! Let's look for those files!
Oppose: It's OUR turn to bring info! Nobody else's!

There were certain advantages to having a power that could go through walls, or anything for that matter. Occasionally while walking through town, Unhallow would come across something interesting that would be completely invisible to most people unless they already knew where to look. In this case, they came across a man made tunnel about a foot underground. It was actually pretty well reinforced, enough so that they were actually comfortable finding the entrance and heading into it. It started on the outskirts of the city, given where they found it, the tunnel would have to be quite long and likely took a long time to dig out. Curious, Unhallow entered the tunnel to see where it went, hoping that the people that made it would be gone for awhile. Fortunately, even if Unhallow came across them, Unhallow would undoubtedly see them first. There were no signs of cameras or other traps that would allow the creators of the tunnel to see at the range Unhallow could see. Even as they approached the end, there were still no signs of the creators. Things were going smoothly.
The tunnel lead to city hall. Unhallow wasn't sure if they wanted to know exactly what these people had planned, but they were glad they found this tunnel before anything happened. The Keepers might have some interest in this path. They would have to inform people about it later. Unfortunately, the area under city hall was much newer than the rest of it, and thus wasn't nearly as reinforced as the parts further back. Unhallow realized this too late; so late in fact that the thought didn't even occur to them until the ceiling collapsed. Or rather, the floor in city hall collapsed into the tunnel, not more than two feet away from Arcanum. At least, Unhallow was pretty sure that was Arcanum given what his body was made out of. Unhallow also had no idea what Arcanum was doing here, or why she was using a man's body right now, but if she was in disguise it was probably something both important and something that had to be done subtly. Unhallow just hoped that making to floor collapse didn't blow Arcanum's cover.

Thing seems to goes smoothly: Anonymous was in, and no one paid much attention to a janitor wandering around in the hallway with cleaning tools. Occasionally he would have to stop and make some small idle chit-chat with the other employee, but other than that, nothing that he can’t handle. All he need to do is to make his way to the room where they kept the more sensitive files, and the truth behind the Seaside situation would finally reveal to him.
As he made his way down one of the hallway, the alarm system suddenly activated. Looking around, he didn’t see any security guards headed his direction so he know he isn’t the one triggered it. After a short moment, the alarm was off; wondering what cause the alarm to go off like that, he asked one of the security guard who just radio his friend:
“E-Excuse me, what happen just now? Is everything okay?”
“It’s alright,” he replied, loud enough for everyone nearby to hear, “False alarm, everything is fine. You can go back to your business.”
Anonymous simply shrugged the notion off his mind; he didn’t want to raise any further suspicion anyway, so he continued his way down. It was just about when he getting close to the room that he felt a slight migraine, a feeling that all too familiar to him by now from a certain Keeper.
“Great,” he thought, “leave it to the Keeper to also want the information too.”
And it seems that they decided to go about this not as subtly as he thought, especially when a huge hole in the room opened up right in the middle.
“Well, so much for the false alarm.”

Arcanum had been walking along minding his own business when part of the ground suddenly broke away. The surprise barely registered in his mind, as he had a feeling he knew what just happened. Still, he needed to confirm it before responding inappropriately. A part of his shoe seemed to split off from the rest, while the leftover foot merged to look as though nothing had happened. The smaller section slipped through the hole and attached itself to the ceiling of the tunnel. It eventually grew an eyeball and dropped down a few inches to examine the entire area.
As expected, there was Unhallow, standing around like they always do. Why they were in a tunnel beneath city hall was a question that could wait until later. For now, Arcanum transformed the eye into a hand, and waved at their partner before sliding back through the hole. He began to think of ways the kid might help out with the mission, but decided against dragging them into this. They had enough things to worry about. Let them have fun underground.
Now he'd need to make sure no one found the other Keeper waiting there. If someone was going to get shot at tonight, it should probably be him. Of course, as soon as he thought that a janitor walked right into the hallway.
Letting this guy walk closer to Unhallow would make it easier to notice they were down there. Arcanum needed to convince everyone that the real threat had already entered the building. He turned to prevent the man from moving farther into the room. "Sir, you need to get out of here, we're in the middle of an emergency."

For the second time in a row, Azoth had been going somewhere to get information, expecting to be the only super there, only to hear a crash and feel a shake from somewhere else in the building. This was after the alarm had gone off - which she was fairly sure was not her doing - meaning she could say with good certainty that she was indeed not the only one to pay this place a visit. She couldn’t be sure what other supers wanted with town hall; perhaps they were looking for the same thing she was, or perhaps this was just pandaemoniums making a mess of things again for no discernible reason beyond “just because”. Regardless, it meant she had to hurry. Azoth quickened her pace.
With the map, Azoth plotted the most direct course to the archives. She made her way up to the second floor and down the nice stone floor. The time meant the wide hallways were populated mostly only with old black and white pictures of the city. The only two people to oppose her, a pair of security guards, were made useless as their guns vanished and ice appeared under their feet. Azoth simply walked past the two “highly trained protectors” sprawled out on their backs.
The doors to the main archives were large and arching. Through them was a fairly large room lined with tall bookcases that stretched to the ceiling and filing cabinets neatly alphabetized. There were a couple of tables and lights for the employees or occasional college student to attempt to make themselves comfortable at while they dug into the dusty volumes of old records.
It was not this room that she was looking for. Here she would only find tax ledgers and the history of bills passed through their joke of a local government. Instead, she was after a small metal door in the far corner, locked tightly and only opened to those with high clearance. It was clear this room was important; there was a high density of cameras placed inside, positioned so not a single person could come or leave without their face being caught by at least one. It was an effective system - if the cameras were working. Before Azoth entered the room, all of the cameras within went simultaneously dark.
All three locking mechanisms were broken were they connected with the doorframe. Another alarm began to ring as Azoth pulled open the door, but she paid it no mind. With any luck, the other supers would be far more interesting to security and each other than a single Keeper in the book bank was.

It was getting crowded in here fast. Khan didn't mind sharing information on occasion, but this was quickly going to become a rat race. He could still steal the cheese if someone got to it first, but he's at least needed to know who would get it. He heads inside, looking to clear some rats along the way.

Unhallow waved back at the piece of Arcanum, though they were facing the wrong direction for doing it. It wasn't clear whether or not Arcanum wanted their help, but based on the casual nature of the wave it probably wasn't urgent at the very least. What was urgent was just how structurally unsound this building was in a few places. Unhallow knew they really shouldn't be this close.
"Just come find me if you need something," Unhallow whispered to the eye.
Unhallow couldn't remember whether or not Arcanum would be able to hear that, but it was worth a shot right? They wanted to stay quiet enough that the people outside of the tunnel wouldn't be able to hear them, so there wasn't any real way to talk to the main body right now. Unhallow slowly made their way back through the tunnel they came here from. It would be a little while before city hall was out of their visual range though, and even a slight whisper would be visible to them. If Arcanum needed something Unhallow would be able to know.

'Nope, nope, those are the bathrooms! Time to turn around!' Would it be bad to say I think I might have to-' 'Info. Think about the super secret info, not the bathrooms.'
Double Dealer have just found out why an incomplete map was so bad, taking several wrong turns in just a few minutes and growing increasingly more confused on whether or not the map they even had in their heads was even correct. Probably wasn't after one "hallway" turned out to be a dead end room, but they could just figure it out, right? At some point they encountered some stairs that actually matched the map.
'Oh my God! These are, like, the archive stairs or something, there's just like a thousand files up there!' Man are we lucky! You go up and I'll just threaten anyone who comes by.' 'Now aren't you the best!'
The woman practically skipped up the stairs, after all, they have literally had no opposing forces against them, despite the weird camera shut off earlier. Unfortunately for her, that good feeling instantly vanished as soon as she saw the blockade of bookshelves. "What the hell!?" She couldn't help but scream out loud, out all the things that could go wrong, why did it show up when they were so,so close!? She pounded her fists uselessly on the wood, stomping down to her partner below afterwards.
'What's wrong!? You didn't even tell me anything while you were up there!' I'm sorry! It's just some guy just blocked the archive room, I mean seriously!?' 'Do you think we can fuse to move whatever's there our will it take way to long?' 'Definitely too long! We'll be standing there for, like, 10 minutes! That's basically forever!'
Several cracking sounds along the ground shook the duo slightly out of their quickly building anger. Not entirely though as their anger took a new turn. If the guy doing those sounds was responsible for the blockade, they seriously were going to kill him! They followed the sound to a scene they honestly had no idea what was going on. The ground had some hole in it, maybe some super was in here? Then there was some normal people arguing over who knows what, normal people were weird so it wasn't like Double Dealer was going to pay attention anyway. The pair both shrugged and smiled, they could probably blow of some steam with these normal people, it's not like they could fight back!

“Well, that was rather rude.”
Anonymous thought as the security man shoved him out the door and close it behind him. But that wasn’t the reason he felt a little annoyed; the security man was not who he seems to be. When Anonymous got some of his surface-thought, he realized that was the silver-goop lady that was rudely interrupted his masterpiece way back then. He didn’t expected that she can turn herself into a man, though, so this is something new. Twisting the doorknob, he can tell it was locked from the other-side, or rather jammed.
He shrugged; they’re not the reason he’s here anyway. Obviously she’s here for the same information that he was after as well, but she was kind enough to lock the door that would lead her to the archive, so that’s a plus. He was about to leave to the archive when two separate thought came to his head, two distinguish voice that arguing with each other.
He turned toward the direction where the voices coming from when he saw a person standing in the hallway, blocking his path. It was rather clear that this person was a super, considering they have two voices talking to each other as if they are two different entities. And from the way that person smile, Anonymous can already tell they’re up to something.
That, and the fact that the archive room was somehow block by bookcases. He didn’t expect so many Keepers would be present in this area. Then again, this is city hall; it’s like a Keeper’s magnet if their goal is gathering intelligent and political favor. For now, he need to get pass this clown before he can make his way to the archive; he’s already wasted valuable time as it is, which is now a lot shorter when these Keepers decided to make a mess of city hall.
