“Good, good.”
With that out of the way, most of her worries about not having a plan went away immediately. For some reason Sharon knew the younger girl would be more reliable anyway. Even when the topic interested her, she wasn't about to take responsibility for organizing their little adventure. That involved caring about things she never liked thinking about.
Londyn might be interested in all this, but it was too early to tell if she matched Sharon's level of devotion. If it was up to her, she would spend an entire day searching for this guy. What else was there to do around here? Not like she had anything more important to take care of. Just the occasional bit of volunteer work, but even those moments were slowing down lately.
“It don't take that long to get down there, so whenever's fine with you, I'm down.”

At least that was out of the way. Nodding, Londyn gives Sharon her email, the one she keeps filters on in case of weirdos or junk adds. There was no telling if this would pay off, but if it did, she'd be on her way with the other girl none the wiser. She'd figure out her schedule for this once it started to pan out and didn't prove to be a wild goose chase.
"In that case, why not go now?" She was already out and about, anyway.

That was faster than expected. Sharon already committed to leaving at a moment's notice, and had no intention of going against that idea. This wasn't like the no lying thing from earlier. She raised her hands in defeat—or tried to, before remembering what happened a few minutes earlier when she let go of her bicycle. Instead she decided to settle for a simple shrug. “Hey, whatever you say boss.”
One one hand, it would be nice to pick up a few more items from home, just in case of emergencies. Sharon had left in a hurry and didn't bother to take the usual equipment. She needed room for all those potatoes she never bought. Then again, explaining the whole situation to Londyn involved mentioning too many unnecessary details and wasting potential scouting time. It's not like they would be out exploring all night. Plus, the most important item worth bringing was something she always carried with her.
It would all work out in the end. One of them could just talk their way out of any problems. With a nod of her head, she continued. “If your ready now, we'll start now.”

Londyn rolls her eyes at the response, but doesn't complain otherwise. At least she'd be doing something other than sitting around. She shifts her weight to the other foot, away from Sharon as she lets go of her handlebars again in case she topples over.
"Sure. I've got time." She has her phone on her, but not much else. She wouldn't even know what to bring, but the fact that they were actually starting something lifted her spirits far more than Londyn thought could.

Sharon closed her eyes in concentration, imagining a map of the surrounding area. What would be the fastest way for them to get across town? Walking sounded like a lot of effort, and might over an hour. Riding her bike all the way could work out, but was a lot less safe. Neither of the girls were overly large, but there might not be enough room for the both of them to sit comfortably. So far nothing beat standard public transportation, so apparently that was what they were going with.
“The bus.” She looked around for a second before pointing in the direction behind her. “Down there's a route that'll end up near the docks.”

Londyn is willing to let Sharon lead and think her way through their options, unwilling and uncomfortable with revealing just how new she was to the area. It would probably sound dumb to the other girl, anyway, and there was no way she was going to accept being mocked or told to go home for being useless.
Then she mentioned the bus. Londyn forced herself still to keep her nose from wrinkling at the notion of public transportation. Sure, there were some transits that were okay, but who knew what was going to be on the bus, or how filthy it was. But she didn't want to go back, and she didn't have any alternatives, either, she it was either quit or deal with it. Just as long as no one asked her to like it, Londyn would be alright. She hoped.
"How long until it comes out here?" She waits for Sharon to turn around so they can walk to the stop together.

“Good question.” Sharon only chose the route that she did because it was the closest to their current location, and didn't think about the time. They only needed to walk for two or three blocks. Of course, that wouldn't matter if the bus was currently at the stop, and the next one arrived fifteen minutes from now. By then they could have gone with a different option and already be halfway to the dock. She pulled out her phone and glanced at the current time. That exact bus showed up every twenty minutes around this time of day. They could make the next one.
“Eh, not that long. By the time we're there it'll be like, a minute or two of waiting.” Sharon turned to start walking in the right direction. Seeing how they still had plenty of time, she kept a very casual pace. The bus had to take the same street they were using. There would probably be some traffic along the way. If it came down to it, she could always rush ahead at the last minute.

"i tend to have those." She sounds somewhere between smug and amused as she walks alongside Sharon, letting the other girl take the side closer to the road since she has the bike. It's less squishy than she is, after all. Her walk is very clean and precise, as though she's always aware of where her body is in relation to the rest of the city and its hustle and bustle.
"Well that's not bad at all, then." A couple of minutes was acceptable. "Where are we looking to get off at, anyway?" The docks was pretty general.

Sharon had a couple ideas about where to continue searching. There wasn't a whole lot of information to work with, since most people either didn't care or were not capable of following him around. At best she heard rumors about places that Gilgamesh already visited, which did little to help determine where he was currently.
Still, they might as well check things out. Maybe there was some sort of pattern to his activities? If they found out he had a favorite spot, they could just wait out over there “There's this one pier over by some old factories. Apparently some fight happened over there or something. Seemed like a good place to try asking around. If not, well, at least the food's pretty good.”
She didn't expect to learn much from this trip, but who knows what would happen? Technically, she never planned on finding anyone willing to help out. The world was full of surprises; maybe they would get lucky after all. Sharon absently scratched an itch on the back of her neck. ” 'Course, that was before I had a partner in all this. If you got an idea we can always go with that. ”

Londyn grows quiet at the suggestion of the pier. The sound of breaking bones and grunts of pain fills her mind, halting on the sidewalk as she remembers a body flying past her and hitting the water Another disappearing into the shadows with a kick. Flashes of metal. Two others that had attacked her father, faces without names. She couldn't even remember what happened to them, everything passing in a blur. Her hands rise up to hold her upper arms as Sharon's voice breaks through, a distant buzz that finally cracks the haze.
Regardless of how long it took for the other girl to notice, if at all, her steps came twice as quickly to catch up.
"The dock sounds like a good place to start." She nods, the polite smile returning but not touching her eyes. "If that's the most recent place, then we may as well start fresh."

As they got closer to the docks they'd find that the city became less and less safe. There were more leering eyes, burly looking men, and police sirens seemed to fill the background noise far more often. Once they reached the dock they'd find that some kind of scene was already underway. A group of burly men seemed to have surrounded Alex who's back was pressed against a wall.
"Just give us your wallet and you can run home to Mommy and Daddy."
The head thug said as he brandished a knife at Alex. Alex to his credit looked like he was staying calm, but if one looked closely they could see his eyes darting around to the various thugs quickly. Rapidly shifting between their weapons and them.
"Can't you guys just like, forget I was here? Look, I was just trying to take a shortcut to get home. I don't even have much money."
A second thug chimed in. "Then consider this your toll."

It really didn't take long to reach the place she mentioned. Sharon intended on following the water south for a bit. There was this fisherman she knew that was probably still hanging out by his store. He should be familiar with any recent Gilgamesh sightings around here. Plus, she could always buy some food for later.
Things are going fine until Sharon started walking past a certain alleyway. The sound of a couple men talking prompted her to quickly back up out of sight. Peeking around the corner, it seemed like she didn't have anything to worry about. They already found a better target to rob.
That would have been the end of it, but the idiot tried to beg for them to leave without taking anything. Sharon rolled her eyes. This guy didn't know how things worked down here. She considered leaving him to learn his lesson the hard way, but the idea of leaving the guy alone bothered her. If she hadn't already come up with a solution she could walk away with a clear conscience. Now, it was too late. Acting the way he did always led to people getting hurt. She couldn't let that happen.
Sharon set her bike against the wall and turned to face Londyn. The other girl didn't need to get dragged into this mess. “Hold on, give me a minute.”
With that, Sharon entered the alley. She let out a sigh, although the others might not have heard her. They were still a little far away, but talking loudly was one of her few specialties, right next to butting into other people's business. “Aw come on, Chris. We were meeting 'cross the street for a reason, man.”
One of the attempted muggers began to approach her, waving his arm around. “Hey hey, you stay out of this.”
Sharon did her best to look unfazed by anything that was happening. She still had a back up plan waiting in her pocket. They would have to get closer for it to matter, and she hoped that it didn't need to be used at all. “What's wrong, y'all don't want free money?” She held out her bag for a moment before throwing it at the guy's feet.

Londyn's discomfort grew as they neared the slums and docks, areas she typically stayed away from if she ould help it. Still, despite growing quiet, she couldn't find it in herself to turn back, especially since Sharon seemed so comfortable. But what would two girls do against the trouble that such places were known for?
Apparently, greet them like they had known said trouble for a long time. Londyn's ears perk at the sound of voices down on of the alleys, someone asking to be left alone instead of handing over the money they probably had. She stops with a frown, glancing at Sharon warily as the other girl tells her to hold on. What did she think she could possibly do?
Still, she listened, even held back for now. She'd probably just make things worse.
Her patience wouldn't last long, however. Not so soon, and not here.

Acting the way he did was how people ended up hurt. And that was the entire point. This was their chance to walk away, a show of mercy as it were. Appealing to the nobility within them. Though if they were nothing but brigands then he would defend himself. Until they were interrupted by some woman. Silently Alex cursed himself. What kind of idiot walked into a situation like this. She should have kept walking and pretended she didn't see shit. Like a normal person. And worse than getting involved she was tying herself to him so that they would probably really come after her instead of trying to just scare her off.
Fucking idiot.
"Sweety, go back to the car. We are just having a friendly chat. Don't worry about it."
He'd try to shoo her away with a hand gesture and wide eyes silently telling her to back the fuck off before she got her head bashed in or worse. He'd prefer to not have to beat the living fuck out of these guys with a bystander around, and he was going to be really pissed off if she made him. Pissed off enough to let them land a few blows on her first. Just to teach her a lesson.
One of the thugs went to the bag, not going to turn down free money while the lead thug brandished his weapon at Alex with a sick smile. "Pretty little bird you have there. How about you be a real pal and share her with us."

Sharon felt her hand involuntarily tighten into a fist. What is this guy doing? The odds of him walking away with anything remotely valuable were slime to none. It was the price he paid for wandering into this gang's territory by himself. She hadn't even noticed the knife earlier, but it only served to strengthen her argument.
There were two options: either she could leave, or double down on trying to help. Without even a second thought Sharon knew which path to take. “Honey, I can't do that. You've got the keys, remember?”
She started shaking at the mention of these guys 'sharing', but did her best to conceal it. Meaning, it was completely obvious to everyone within a five mile radius. Hiding any emotions was never her strong suit. Still, if this meant everyone would go somewhere else—far away from the public—Sharon still had a chance. In fact, it might be better if they did. She'd be able to fully enjoy herself for a moment before leaving.
So she smiled at the nice man with the pretty knife, hoping he would make her day. The idea popped into her mind to call herself "Sharin' Sharon", but that joke didn't seem very appropriate. She'd try to remember that for later. “I'm game. Any friend of Chris is a friend of mine ”
