Purity had already transformed while the press outside was assembling. But with the recent rise in criminal activity from mundane sources as well as Super the people of this city needed to know that they were safe. Not only safe, but that The Bulwark would be dedicating itself to ensuring that combating these criminals and terrorists wouldn't endanger their lives and livelihoods. He was sure that he spoke for everyone when he said that collateral damage was not an option. And bringing that down to zero was the biggest priority. That is why a press conference had been called. The message needed to be spread far and wide, for everyone to see. For those with evil in their hearts to know that they will not be allowed to run amok. And for the people to see that they were not the enemy. That the vast majority of Supers had good in their hearts and like any normal person. All that they really wanted was to live in peace. Of course they couldn't do this alone, nor should they. The Emerald City PD needed to get it's kudos as well for the fantastic job that they did keeping people safe day in and day out. That is what Purity spoke about to the crowd of bystanders and press. Reaffirming their mission, their intentions to aid the ECPD at every opportunity, and a call for unity in the Super and Mundane community. "And that is why, I pledge to you that The Bulwark will be redoubling it's efforts to protect this beautiful gem of a city, not only from those that would cause it intentional harm. But also from our own strength. We recognize that as an organization we have not always succeeded in that endeavor. However I know that with the support of everyone in this fine city that will change starting today. Together united we can all stand up and be heroes." The smile he gave the cameras sparkled and glistened as his aura absolutely glowed with pure radiance. He meant it, he would not allow evil to destroy anymore lives. He would do everything in his power to create the glistening paradise that he saw in his dreams every night. A world were everyone lived in peace, without conflict. Complete harmony and unity, and he would see it achieved no matter the cost... Objective: Ensure that the press conference is a success and their message of peace is put out for the masses!

Peace, having transformed with the others, stood next to her friend with hands behind her back and a grin on her face. She rocked her weight forward and then back on her heels in a rhythm, seeming completely unaffected by her knee-tall high heeled boots. Her smile only grew wider in enthusiasm as she listened to Purity's prepared speech, agreeing wholeheartedly with every word. When she could see that he was done, a step was taken forward so that she could address the crowd as well. "Above all else, taking the mantle of a protector means one thing. We're here to protect all of you, from whatever dangers may be lurking around the corner." The palm of one hand pressed firmly over where her heart was, as if making a vow to them right then and there. "That includes the dangers that may be brought about by accident, when someone is not quite as careful as they should be. The three of us, standing tall as Emerald's Virtues, have sworn to use our gifts and keep this city safe from any harm. It is your basic right to live happy and healthy lives, safe with the knowledge that we'll be there in times of need." Her eyes flashed from face to face, taking in the sight of everyone who had decided to attend the conference. Every single one of these people had their own lives, with their own families and friends waiting. They had dinner to make, kids to raise, or maybe a good book that they hadn't gotten around to reading just yet. They all needed something that they could look up to. "That's why those of us at the Bulwark need to keep the everyday citizen in mind above all else. You need to know that we can be depended on." Supporting: This conference can help inspire the people, and lead us to a Peaceful city.

Passion stepped forward after Peace's bit, by some miracle not tripping in the slightly tall high heels, already having like the rest of his compatriots. He stood tall a proud, both hands on a broad sword planted gently in front of him.
"We are and have virtues that we shall stand for, through thick and thin, life and death, we will always keep these virtues and the people within the front of our minds."
With a spin of his shining blade before swinging it into the air as a blinding salute before he went to stand amongst the rest of his team. He was happy to have just given his part and be able to be beside them. This was what they stood for, and they'd do everything in their power to keep it safe.
Supporting: It can spark the Passion of the People and lead to great things.

Today wasn't going too well. Earlier, one of the Keepers wouldn't shut up about some plan of theirs, and how they needed a distraction to prevent anyone from noticing. Arcanum hoped they had forgotten about the favor she owed them, and wanted a recommendation for who they might ask, but no. They remembered and just wanted to waste her time with information she didn't need to know.
She headed toward downtown because apparently everyone else liked to terrorize that area. If she went there to cause trouble, maybe someone else would join and help. Arcanum noticed a couple Bulwark members were giving a speech downtown, and even sat around to listen to part of it. She had arrived still needed to wait a few minutes before starting the distraction.
From what they said, it was hard to really agree or disagree since they really kept talking about themselves and what they wanted to do. Not that it mattered. Arcanum got bored and looked around the area, realizing just how much the press had shown up to cover this thing. She had an idea. Messing with the trio's little rally would fulfill her obligation to make a scene, and she didn't even have to put too much effort into it. She only needed to start a fight, and it didn't matter if she won or not.
Arcanum divided herself up into pieces and slithered across the floor. Most fragments spread themselves secretly among the crowd, while three main section headed towards the stage. Once everything was in place, the show began. A bitter, cackling laugh echoed throughout the area. Instead of using a microphone like most normal people, each separate part of Arcanum made sure everyone present could hear her message. Perhaps all the time she spent with a certain theatrical magician was starting to wear off on her. Either way, it was time for the main event.
A column of “slime” rose up in front of the blonde Bulwark. It shifted and reformed until it appeared to look a lot like the hero himself. . . if the actual one wasn't standing right there. He didn't have a lot of time to analyze what the real one actually looked like, so a lot of the detail were wrong. Instead he leaned into the whole evil routine and wore an all black outfit that kind of looked the same from a distance. The words it spoke were echoed by chorus hanging out in the crowd. “Pleasure and ecstasy have already corrupted this city.”
A second pillar arose by its partner. This one changed and transformed until it appeared to match the pink-haired if she decided to join the dark side. The original costume seemed like it would be too complicated to match, so instead the doppelganger chose a simple red dress with the occasional bits of black lace thrown in to look fancy. She just shook her head in disagreement with the earlier speech. “Not even your Pride can save them now.”
Lastly, a third tower made its presence know, copying the last of magical crew. Wearing a dark purple suit, most of his efforts had gone towards making sure the sword looked as close to the real thing as possible. He planted it into the ground and pointed at his goody-goody counterpart. “Only Pain awaits those who believe in justice.”
The evil trio turned to face the audience, arms spread wide. In perfect unison they issued their challenge. “Emerald City's Vices are here to teach these fools a lesson.”
Opposing: Time to crash a press conference.

Normally Giza would stay clear of the Downtown area around this time, after what the Pandamonium did to the place in their little game of capture the flag. But when he heard about the trio of Bulwark decided to have a press-conference, he just couldn’t resist the urge to see what these idiots decided to do. This time, he didn’t really let any of the Pandaemonium know about this, he want to observe the situation by himself without making such a scene unnecessary.
As he was observing the situation from the roof of the building nearby, the trio’s speech almost make him gag. These people must have watch way too many old superheroes cartoon when they were young; otherwise no one could ever say such a cliché speech like that with a straight face. He was about to leave the boring conference when something happens in the crowd: three pillars of silver goo started to appear, and soon enough each of the goo turned into the Bulwark’s evil doppelganger and challenged them. He though it was rather strange to find a Keeper decided to crash the conference, especially Lady Silver Goo herself. Judging from the scene, Giza feels like he was watching an old 70’s cartoon show happen before him.
Looking around the crowd, he can’t really see anyone else that resembled other Keeper agents as back-up for Goo lady. He decided to stick around to see how the situation might happen. Who know, if he aid this little fiasco that Goo Lady decided to start, maybe the Pandaemonium can earn some interesting favor from their secretive neighbor. -- OPPOSING: because who doesn’t love to cause chaos in a boring press-conference.

When Stunt Double saw that the police were all congregating downtown, he swapped himself with one of them to see just what sort of supervillainy they were responding to this time.
He didn't expect the culprits to be the Virtues. Even as eccentric as they were, Stunt Double still wouldn't consider them villains, but it seemed that the police didn't care about the distinction.
"-and if any of them even look like they might be attacking the crowd, shoot to kill. We can't take any chances, not when they've gathered a crowd this big." Stunt Double had swapped himself onto a third-story balcony near where the heroes were giving their speech. The officer in charge was instructing a sniper who had positioned himself with a clear line of fire to the stage.
Stunt Double was conflicted on several levels. On one hand, he wasn't the Virtues' biggest fan. They might not even need his help, considering that they probably had half a dozen ways between them of dealing with getting shot at. There wasn't even any guarantee that the police would end up taking the shot - even if the Virtues were technically wanted criminals for their vigilante work, the police were only obligated to go after superheroes when those superheroes made obvious targets of themselves.
On the other hand, there was still a police sniper aiming a high-powered rifle at one of Stunt Double's allies, and that just wouldn't do.
Still wearing the appearance of the policeman he had swapped with, Stunt Double abruptly charged the sniper and tackled him off the roof, falling together with him toward the crowd below.

He hadn't expected to come face to face with a doppelganger of his on this stage. Surprise flashed across his features for a brief moment before he closed his eyes. Letting out a slow and deep exhale as the impostors began their own introductory speech. The idea to strike them while they introduced themselves never even crossed his mind. Whether out of purity of heart of naivety was debatable however. Instead he took it as a peaceful moment to steel his heart against what was to come. Part of him had feared some nefarious characters would attempt to crash this showing of public trust and faith. But he had hoped that even the villains of the city could have their hearts touched by an offer of peace and collaboration. That their minds could be expanded to see what they could accomplish working side by side. Super and Mundane. Brother and Sister. Friend and Foe. Surely the world was big enough for all of their dreams to be peacefully realized.
He'd shake his head at the impostor's words. "You are wrong. Emerald City is a city of peace. Her people hard working and just. We will not allow you to taint our city or our hearts. Please, look into your heart. You know I am right, that there is no need for anyone here to be enemies. We can do so much more together, a people united as one. Our hearts beating together!"

Giza felt kinda bad for doing this; it’s like ruining someone’s zoo exhibit. These Bulwarks truly have their head stuck way up their ass if they think Emerald City is a peaceful place for everyone. Can’t they feel that their present here had already put people on edge? Heck, even the police are here to “deal” with the situation because they simply don’t trust people with super power. He wanted to leave these idiots alone for their prep-rally and see how these guys get a wake-up call when the police decided that enough is enough. But he remembered something that Miss Aurora said to him, and he sighed.
He got himself out of hiding and spread both his arms to the side, letting out an explosion of pigeons swarming the whole place:
“Ladies and gentlemen,” he shout at the top of his voice, “it is such a wonderful thing to see you all gathered here. To alleviate you from the boring speech that these so-called “heroes” are tormenting you with, I shall liberate your boredom with my one-day only performance.”
The swarm of pigeon soon start to swan-dive toward the crowd before each of them explode in a thick plume of smoke, making everyone there ran away in a state of panic. With this, the people in the crowd won’t be in the cross-fire if thing turn sour.
“Now,” he pointed to the Emerald City’s Virtue, “I thanks you for volunteering as tribute.”

Pain tried to hold it in while the man gave his speech, but couldn't help himself once it was over. He doubled over in laughter, unable to take this guy seriously. His words contained such optimism the likes of which Arcanum had never seen. Even as a child she knew the world didn't work out that way. Joining the Keepers only helped to confirm her beliefs. To see someone who should know better talk so innocently, she felt a growing desire to destroy these idiots. She took his declaration of being unable to corrupt them as a personal challenge. It wouldn't be the first time.
Pride broke out into a devilish grin, before taking the opportunity to explain on her partner's behalf. “Bad choice of words there, friend. We don't exactly have hearts to begin with.”
“ 'Sides, there ain't any peace in this town.” She gestured toward her heroic counterpart. “Present company excluded.”
Any further comments needed to wait as a certain someone made their presence known. Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Arcanum liked to think that her earlier thoughts of the magician had actually conjured the real thing. He must really hate this part of town if he was already waiting around to attack something. The guy should really expand his range of activity. . . or was he just scared after the one time he tried to branch out ended up failing spectacularly? Either way, he knew how to create a distraction, so Arcanum didn't feel like complaining.
His doves drove off most of the audience, and escalated the current state of affairs in a way she didn't appreciate. For a performer, he really seemed to like driving people away from his act. Maybe it was ironic or something. This time Pleasure spoke up about present situation. “See? Your very existence draws chaos and Pandaemonium into these people's lives.”

Stunt Double and the police sniper landed in the midst of the crowd, landing hard enough to knock the wind out of them. Stunt Double, still wearing the appearance of a police officer, immediately scrambled to his feet, trying to get his bearings.
In the time it had taken them to fall, supervillains had shown up, complicating what was already a dicey situation. And it seemed likely that the police would set up another sniper if they hadn't already. This needed to be ended, immediately.
Stunt Double charged through the crowd, pushing through toward the stage as the panicked civilians tried to flee. Finding himself unable to advance fast enough, he used his power to swap with the people ahead of him, which only added to the chaos and confusion and people began screaming about superpowers being used on them.
It was only making the situation even more irrecoverably chaotic, but that wasn't Stunt Double's main concern. His allies needed to be rescued!

Passion stepped in front of Peace as the doppelganger pointed at her, before raising his blade. He would not allow his team's imaged be sullied by this cheap act.
"I will not allow you to defile my allies words with your petty lies. We stand for the good of the people and all that is right, the fact that others attack on us sight will not deter us but instead strengthen our resolves to show you the light."
The chaos created around made him glance around, it appeared neither the kinetic user or the ninja was in the crowd but instead taking all of the attention was an infamous magician. Perhaps there was a chance of at least changing someone if he did not immediately attack civilians. They could still do good.

As Stunt Double did his best to drag Peace away from the fight, he scanned the rooftops frantically for any sign of other snipers. It looked like the coast was clear, which only left the present supervillains to worry about.
The Emerald City Vices were the ones that caught his attention first, of course. The way that they seemed to match up with the Virtues... they were doppelgangers, then? Well, Stunt Double knew a thing or two about doppelganging, and as far as he was concerned these guys looked to be second-rate at best. Not to mention that his initial concerns about whether they wielded vice grips in combat to crush his allies seemed to be unfounded. Not a priority threat.
The magic dude from the attempted prison break was there as well. Stunt Double was glad to see that he had survived what the Keepers had tried to do to him. Still, the poor guy hardly seemed like the robust type, which meant that the Virtues were probably going to beat him within an inch of his life anyway. Stunt Double resolved to go easy on him.
A reflected glint of light from one of the windows flashed Stunt Double in the eyes.
"Waah! Watch out!"

A policeman sudden charge at one of the trio and then change himself into that person could only mean one thing; Giza remembered the bastard far too well from what he did to him. Giza’s not really sure why the guy tackle his own teammate, but right now it seems like this is more than a normal press conference.
Without much clue on the situation, Giza might as well continue his charade of being the bad guy in this situation. However if the police around here assume that these Bulwarks are causing trouble around, he doesn’t feel like throwing them under the bus like that. Looking around the scene, he isn’t sure what that Switcharoo guy was so panicking about as he rush toward his teammate.
But if this involved the police, Giza can only guess what they would do in this type of situation. He’s watched way too many cop shows to predict their method of handling the situation in downtown, and it isn’t pretty; especially if it involving supers.
