It's pretty peaceful up here, a certain super thought to himself as he lay atop the roof of a skyscraper, staring up at the night sky. As long as I don't look down, I could get used to this. With a content sigh, Geata started to think about his future as a super. Odds were, he'd eventually be convinced to join one of the various factions. He wasn't entirely opposed to the idea, just not right then. Not only did he not really know anyone in any of the factions, what he knew about their various reputations made him wary. The Keepers were as shady as a group could be, and he didn't know if he could throw in with the whole super villain thing completely. The Bulwarks seemed to be considerably better, but they were said to cause more damage than they helped with. Geata didn't exactly like the idea of being in a group of "heroes" with no self control and being under constant watch by a world just waiting for him to slip up. And speaking of no self control, there was Pandaemonium. At least no self control is a tagline for them, but Geata was in no way wanting to associate himself with their leader. He hadn't actually met Mosh Man, but what he had heard was more than enough to decide that the Panda's weren't the place for him. Besides, a group of chaotic, lawless ruffians wasn't very appealing to his sensibilities.
Geata was about to muse on the pros and cons of being an unaligned super when he heard police sirens in the streets below him. "Wonder what's going on," he said quietly to himself as he stretched out and stood up. "Maybe it would be fun to get a closer look." With that said, he opened a portal underneath himself and started his own high speed pursuit, shooting from portal to portal.

The police cars arrived at the scene rather quick, much quicker than their usual speed. Guess when supers making a mess in the downtown area, these law-abiding officers that was recruited from other city must react quickly to make the situation under control. Even so, they only arrived at the scene only minutes after Anonymous finished his work and got away. Once the polices arrived, they will see a man lying in a fetal position, crying to himself while repeating the phrase “I’m sorry” over and over with a gun next to him.
It all started with him getting his usual coffee morning when this guy burst in the place with a gun, trying to commit a day-light robbery. Seeing how the guy holding the gun, Anonymous can already tell this is his first time holding a gun. As everyone kneel down as he command, Anonymous subtly gain control of his mind, causing him to hallucinated and got overwhelm with fear and depression. Overwhelming with such emotion, the guy started shooting all over the place, somehow managed to miss all the innocent people in the place, until he ran out of bullets.
Once he finally neutralize the armed man by making him have a huge mental break-down, Anonymous quietly leave the scene as the manager of the place called the police. Now he simply stayed up the roof in his usual form, watching the whole situation turned out before him. The police are obviously confused as they asked the witnesses around the scene, and all they could say is that the guy gone insane and shooting at nothing in particular.
Anonymous sighed, “There’s gotta be something more entertaining than watching this boring news story.”

Geata dropped down onto the roof of a nearby building, feeling exhilarated from his high speed escapade. He was boundlessly curious about what was going on that required police attention, and he couldn't help but feel lucky that he was capable of being able to find out. It might have been the first time he was completely glad about having his powers, he realized with a grin. He started watching the scene below intently, taking in details. When it didn't seem like another super was involved, Geata felt a mix of relief and disappoinment. He sat back, eyes closed, and sighed, unable to make up his mind as to whether or not it was actually a good thing.
When he opened his eyes, he noticed an extremely nondescript figure standing on the roof on the opposite side of the scene. Instantly on edge, Geata dropped through a portal, dropping onto the same roof as the mysterious figure while still maintaining some distance. "Yo," he said casually. "Out of curiosity, were you involved in that down below us? Or are you here out of curiosity, like me?"

He turned over to where he suddenly heard a voice talking to him, and notice the guy that just pop right out of a portal behind him. He didn’t recognized this one, but he feel like he might have seen him from somewhere before. Still, Anonymous turned and gaze at this guy to ensure he have a clear visual of him; he couldn't be too careful, especially around a super.
“Well that’s depend on who asking.” He replied to the guy, “Are you here hoping for a fight between supers?”
His inner thought seems to be conflicted between disappointment and relief, probably from when he realized what happen down there. Anonymous simply shrugged:
“Well you’re not going to find such thing here; it was simply an armed man hoping to rob the store when he suddenly gone around the bend and start shooting at random. Hope you’re not disappointed?”

Geata was taken aback when the figure turned to face him. He supposed seeing a faceless person wasn't too unusual given his life as a superpowered being, but it was still unexpected. He laughed a little when the figure asked if he was looking for a fight. "No, not quite," he said as he started pacing back and forth. "While you couldn't exactly say I'm a pacifist, I'm not exactly keen on fighting unless I have a really good reason. I was hoping some other super was involved, though." He paused for a moment to consider what he should say next. "Put simply, I'm new to the whole super community thing. If I were to meet other supers, the more connections I have. The more connections I have, the more allies I can rely on and the more I the loop I'd be. That being said, I'm not wanting to pick a team just yet." He smirked a little, though his mask would hide that. "None of the big players really appeal, you know?"
Even though he was making conversation, Geata couldn't help but be unnerved by the other guy. Maybe it was the whole faceless thing, maybe it was something more, he didn't really know. All he knew was that the figure put him on edge. On top of that, he didn't know if he believed the person's claim of innocence of involvement. It just struck him as a little too convenient, maybe. Still, if the other guy wasn't looking to fight, Geata had no problems with obliging him. And, even though he was exceptionally curious about the faceless person, he also thought it would be a good idea to hold off on an interrogation for now. He didn't want to antagonize anyone, after all.

Sensing the super feel a bit uneasy and slightly suspicious at him, Anonymous gave him a shrug before responding:
“I understand what you mean: the other factions of supers are quite strange indeed. I have a chance of brushing over some of those factions member. Not a Bulwark though, but as far as I can tell, they are a bunch of naive supers who jump into stuff that they clearly doesn’t understand.”
He then turned toward the crime scene below them:
“Take this incident, for example. I bet if that guy become more of a threat to innocent people, a Bulwark will show up and possibly trash the whole store while trying to stop that guy, putting more innocent people in danger. A Pandaemonium would cause more chaos to the police, while a Keeper will probably help if they get something out of it in return.”
He then turned back to the guy and formed a smile on his face.
“If you asked me, factions are overrated anyway.”

Geata grinned as the figure agreed, even though it was absolutely terrifying when the figure smiled. "You really aren't wrong," he laughed. "I'm new and even I know full well what their reps are. Still, one day, who knows? Maybe it'd be in my best interests to play for a team. It'd certainly make it easier to protect people, should I come to care enough about anyone that I'd want to protect."
He stretched a little before continuing. "And what about you, guy? Anybody you have that you find to be worth protecting?" Geata might have had his doubts about it, but he didn't think it would be entirely impossible. "If not, though, I wonder what does motivate you?" He still couldn't shake the feeling that the faceless figure was a little off, but he wasn't going to be too obvious about it.
"Oh, and by the way," he said calmly. "I dunno how much it matters, but I'm Geata. Nice to meet you."

Anonymous let out a light chuckle at Geata’s reason of wanting to join a faction:
“Really? I don’t see how being on a team would help you protect your love-ones. If anything, it will make thing harder to protect people since you have someone else that you need to look after in your team.”
He looked over to the police; they’re about to pack up and leave once they finish talking with all the witnesses. They already put the crying man in handcuff and have him standing next to one of the police car. He didn’t pay much attention to Geata’s question toward him about his motivation; he simply thinking of a way to make the situation down there more interesting.
Starting at the police officer who’s keeping an eye on the guy, Anonymous has an interesting idea:
With a simple glance, that police officer is now under his mental influence. In his point of view, the handcuff man is no longer in confinement, but rather aiming his gun at his face. Seeing this, the police officer immediately pulled out his weapon and pointed it at the crying man:
“Drop your weapon!” he shouted to the guy, who looked at the police officer with confusion. The other officer also looked at him in confusion:
“Sean,” one of the officers said to him, “what do you think you’re doing? Lower your weapon.”
“The man is not in custody and is now armed; help me apprehend the suspect.”
Some of the civilians around the scene started to panic and quickly back away from the officer that seems to be losing his mind. The other officers also carefully surround the armed officer, trying their best to not have him fire his gun. Up on the roof, Anonymous said to Geata without leaving his gaze away from the officer:
“Oh dear, seems like the situation is getting hectic down there.”

Geata debated the figure's words. He probably wasn't wrong, but something about it didn't sit right with the young man. Still, it was something to consider when he thought about his future plans. Suddenly, a commotion started in the scene below them. Rushing to where he could get a good view of the situation, Geata nodded in agreement with what the figure said. "Hectic indeed," he mumbled as he debated on who would be a better option to grab.
Deciding it would be easier to just grab the both of them, Geata materialized a portal under the attempted robber first, dropping him on the rooftop from a fairly considerable height, just enough to incapacitate him. Upon that man's landing, Geata did the same with the obviously confused officer while giving the criminal a swift kick to face in order to make sure he was good and out. He then did the same thing to the officer, not giving him a chance to try and figure out what was going on. This all happened within the span of two seconds.
"You might be right," he said after a moment, "and maybe having allies will only make things worse for me. But if those allies are the ones that I care about, then I'd be stupid to not be as close to them as I could be. Until then, though, I'm probably better off handling things on my own. Put simply, another super being here and trying to help would've just made it harder on me to do what I needed to do. I'm sure you understand."
He then dropped the two unfortunate people back to their original places in the scene below them. He debated whether or not he should say anything, but he decided against it. Probably better if he stayed out of it as much as possible, honestly.

Anonymous observed how Geata just teleport himself down to where the crime happen, knock both the crazy policeman and the guy in handcuff unconscious before taking them up here. He turned to the guy with a look of intrigue:
“That was fast, what you did there,” he said; there was a slight tone of disappointment that he didn’t get a chance to see how the event goes, “maybe you should consider joining the Bulwark. I’m sure they will find a spot for you to fill in, what with your heroic initiative without a moment of hesitation.”
He then walked across the edge of the roof, looking down the scene when the other police officer looked at each other confusingly. He slightly chuckled seeing how those silly cops and civilians all confuse and such.
“Do tell me,” he turned toward Geata, “did you activate your power like opening a wormhole to travel through between two points? And if so, do you have to see where you’re going or you just have to think about it?”

Geata couldn't help but grin at the figures words, even if he could tell that something was up with him. He almost sounded kind of upset that the situation was handled. "Oh, sure, they'd love to have me," he winked. "Only problem is that I don't destroy everything around me to do something simple like that. I just wouldn't fit in." He gave a joking shrug before listening to what else the figures had to say.
"Sir? I'm gonna call sir, but if I'm wrong feel free to correct me. Anyway, I don't even know what to call you, so telling you my deepest darkest secret like that is probably not on the menu for tonight." Geata grinned some more, obviously feeling confident and happy about the work he had just done. "Suffice it to say that it's a little of both. You want more, you'll have to piece it together yourself."

Anonymous simply gave an unnerving smile when Geata feel slightly suspicious of him and let him a little hint.
“Well, afraid I would like to keep my identity anonymous if possible,” he replied, “You can call me whatever you want.”
He then skipped across the edge of the building as the police officer below started to clear off the crowd before leaving the scene. He looked at Geata while skipping like a little girl running through a meadow:
“Oh good, I love a challenge, or even a puzzle to solve. Don't you find it fascinating as well? The idea that something is unknown to you, a riddle that tickle the back of your brain, they have such an allure to their nature. If I have to guess, I assume your ability is similar to how that one popular video game that made so many silly memes on the Internet as of late. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about, right?”

"You mean the one with the Vikings and the dragons and all the mods, obviously," Geata joked. The faceless super's actions were... strange and unnerving, but not anything that would come across as aggressive. They were obviously meant as an attempt at fun. It was only fair that the masked super respond in kind, even if his version of fun was less horror-movie-esque.
Turning and taking a look at the sky, Geata realized just how late it was getting. He still had stuff to do, sights to see, places to go. He turned back to the other super and raised his hand apologetically. "Hey, listen, I'm sorry about this, but I've gotta go. I'll, uh, keep in touch, probably." With that said, he quickly turned and walked through a newly opened portal, vanishing from the scene. It had been a short meeting, but one that left Geata wondering just how other supers would be once he actually met them.

Well, that was a short meeting; Anonymous was slightly disappointed that he didn't get to see more of Geata's power showing off. He even tried to play sarcasm and joke around with his response. Well, he's sure he'll meet the guy eventually; all supers around here always congregrate around where crime happen, and Geata sure gave off that "heroic" vibe from him.
Speaking of which, Anonymous turned his attention back to the situation below. THe gun man is already apprehended, and the other police officer that he messed with earlier finally snap himself back to normal. He explained the whole situation to his teammates, but they all looked at each other confuse since the man was clearly isn't armed. Anonymous simply shrugged and decided to leave the situation for the police to deal with.
Beside, the whole thing started to become boring when there's no audience watching the show, or some heroic moron decided to put their nose where they don't belong. Anonymous make his way back into the crowd with his disguise; even if it's late, there's still more people out there who deserve some punishment for their crime. The night is still young, and this night is perfect backdrop for his nightmarish masterpiece. He whistled an eerie tune as he walked down the stair from the roof; the noise echoing throughout the alleyway below as Anonymous vanished into the shadow once again.
