Siren smiled despite her wince as he set her down. He was being gentle as always and it flustered her to no end. Not that she didn't enjoy it but it wasn't something she was used to. She waved off his apology and smiled brightly.
"Don't worry about it. All the healers were busy with the others so I thought I'd let nature take it's course with my injuries. Not like I haven't been burned before."
The hooded woman chuckled darkly at her own joke. It wasn't in the best taste but it was the best way to handle things at times. She perked up when she heard that he had something starting up with Blue Jay. Something about dragons.
"If it will attempt stop another tragedy like that from happening I'm in. It will be forever until the city heals."
Siren looked around. Even here in the serenity of the park you could see what was left of the attack. Roads being repaved, construction workers rebuilding the torn skyline. It would be months before the city returned to normal. According to the news, they were still finding bodies in the rubble.

Unlike her refusal to join the Bulwarks, Titan had no idea where she would go with this. At least with the Bulwark question, he knew there was a pretty big chance of her saying no, despite his hopes. But the outcome of this was completely unknown. It could go either way. Eventually, she finally said that she was in. Titan couldn't help but smile at that. He may not have gotten her into Bulwark, but now he and Blue Jay had her on their team now. Unlike the two of them, as well as some of the other supers that they were considering to invite, Siren knew how to be subtle. Given how their main goal was to find ways to defeat the dragons, that would be a useful asset. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to have her around. With the deal settled, Titan extended a hand, "I'll give you call when we've organized it properly"

Siren took Titan's offered hand and gave it a firm shake. Joining this team actually seemed to be the right decision for once. It meant stopping another attack with the added bonus of more time with Blue Jay and Titan. Wasn't that hard of a decision to make.
"I'll be waiting then."
A small smile as dancing on her lips. Her blush had faded but was still a faint tinge on her cheeks. Ok, she couldn't deny it anymore. She felt some sort of attraction to Titan. But the relief of accepting that fact was blocked by a deep resignation. There was no way he was interested in her. She was just a friend. She would accept that. Would she accept it without a fight? Not a chance. She liked being in his arms too much for that.
"Any thing else you need to tell me Titan? Or should I give you your kiss and be on my way?" |

So with Siren's membership in their impromptu team confirmed, it appeared that business was concluded for the day. Now there were a few others that they had to recruit. Blue Jay had earlier recommended that dragon-wolf super as a member, who Titan vaguely remembered from that incident at the zoo. Lobi...something, it was. Another option was that portal using kid that Titan briefly encountered during that dragon attack. Going by his creative and effective use of his powers against the dragon, he would be a valuable ally in any kind of situation. Blue Jay had even suggested a possible Keeper, but Titan needed to see if they were trustworthy enough, given how Keepers often were. Titan also had a certain Pandaemonium member in mind, but he wasn't sure if he was up for it.
And then she said it. It snapped him out of that muse instantly. Starring dumbly at her, Titan could only yammer out one word
"K-kiss?"

Siren giggled softly at Titan's reaction to the word kiss. It was so sweet to see him stammer like that. It made her happy to have some sort of effect on him.
"Of course. I always give you one on your cheek to say goodbye. Don't you remember?"
She paused, stepping closer to him. The wicked smile returned to her face. She was going to enjoy this. She looked up at her companion. Her heart was beating wildly once again. However, unlike earlier, she was not showing the nervousness on the outside. She had always found flirting easier than normal interactions.
"Of course I could always kiss somewhere else. Like your lips perhaps?"
She wasn't planning on kissing him anywhere but the cheek. However he didn't need to know that. |

It seemed that he never learned. Every time she made some sort of flirtatious comment, he would stammer and yammer like some flustered buffoon. Which he was, but that was beside the point. Even Siren had pointed out that it was a strange tradition for her to give him a peck on the cheek, as if she had an obligation to do so. Yet every time she did it, he never got used to it. The thing was, this time it was worse. Those previous kisses came out of nowhere, so he got hit with them without expecting anything. This time, he had to anticipate it, watching as she slowly sauntered up to him while he stood there, almost paralyzed. He didn't say a thing, even when suggesting a kiss on the lips. Finally, he found the ability to speak once again, "Lips? Isn't...isn't that too...fast?"

Minnie chuckled breathlessly at his response. If only it wasn't just his general nervous disposition around other people that made him so flustered around her. Then she'd go through with the threat.
"We can go as slow as you like. Though slower kisses tend to last longer..."
Siren leaned in close to his lips. Mentally she took a deep breath to steel herself before brushing her lips against the familiar cloth that covered his cheek. She was a tease and a flirt but she was not cruel enough to kiss the guy's lips if he didn't want her to. She stepped back and flashed him a brilliant smile.
"Don't worry. I'm not the type to steal kisses from unwilling victims. I may have my naughty tendencies but I'm not that bad."
Turning on her heel, she made the move to leave... |
