Anonymous tilted his head on the side, looking at Geata with a rather surprise looks:
“Oh come now, if I were after the Keeper’s archive, I can just ask little Misty directly since she’s still own me three favors. I simply want to see the further relationship between the two of you, seeing how poor Misty trusted you more than her own people.”
He took a sip of soda again before looking up toward the shade above him. The air in this park truly is quite relaxing: reclusive and peaceful enough for him to spend some time thinking about stuff. He didn’t even pay much attention to the chess board anymore; he only paid attention when Geata decided to cheat the game or make an illegal move. Taking another long sip of soda, he looked back at Geata:
“Well, it was quite a lovely night; it was stormy, and my home was quite far away, so I thought I can take shelter from the storm and collect my thought a little. When I detected you and Goo-lady’s brain pattern, I figured I can have something to entertain myself by messing with Goo-lady while waiting for the storm to pass.”
He then looked down on the chess board and picked up one of the pawn piece that he hasn’t moved yet:
“Speaking of which, I know you and little Misty are quite close, being “business partner” and all. But a thought has been going through my head for quite some times now” He made an air-quote before placing the pawn back on the board, looking at Geata with a wicked smile:
“Have you, by any chance, fallen in love with her?”

Geata rolled his eyes at the answer given. He doubted that was the full truth, but he had no means of proving that. For now, he'd just have accept the answer given, even if he suspected that there was more to it.
He didn't waste any time providing an answer of his own. There wasn't any point in hesitating, trying to think over his response. He knew full well what he was going to say, and acting otherwise would've been ridiculous. He looked Anonymous in the eye, his face a blank slate.
"Dunno."
There was no falsity behind his answer, if Anon pressed to look. Geata eyed the board for a moment, looking over the pieces as he tried to figure out how to word the second part of his answer correctly. "Truth be told," he said slowly, "it'd take a man more in tune with his emotions than I to even recognize if he loved someone. I haven't the slightest idea what love would feel like, and considering ideas like love at first sight - which I feel is probably a load of crap, but what do I know - I'd say it's possible that I have and just haven't realized it. It's also possible that I haven't, but I don't know, so who cares?"
He picked up a knight and moved it forward as an idea struck him. "How about you, Anonymous? You ever been in love? Maybe you can shed some light on this predicament of mine."

Anonymous can’t help but laugh at Geata’s response and question; if he’s this oblivious about his own feeling, then he doubt he can give the guy any insight on it. Asking him about love is like asking a vegetable patient to walk down the hall.
“Love is but a result of a chain of chemical reaction going through your body,” Anonymous said to him, “people always tend to romanticize such emotion with these cliché actions and requisites that it’s unbearably boring to watch.”
He took another sip of his soda until it was completely empty; crushing the can in his hand, Anonymous threw it into the recycle garbage from where he sat. Looking at the chess board, he pulled out his silver coin and began to roll it through his finger. If Geata would actually observe the coin that he’s rolling, he would notice one of its sides have darkened brown stain covering it.
“Can’t said that I have, Skeletor,” he replied, “but let’s be honest, do you actually believe I’ve ever been in this little thing that you call love before?”
He used his other hand to pick up another pawn piece:
“That wasn’t the question, by the way, so you can decide if you want to answer it or not. As for my actual question: considering how you hang out with little Misty and helping her in whatever thing she has in mind, I can make an educated guess that you might have found the Keeper to be your potential faction to join. Could you tell me the reason why you’ve decided to join the Keeper? And don’t try to be vague like how you’re after their resources since I’ve heard that story before. I am quite curious as to what drive you to go down that path instead of the other.”

Geata snickered at Anon's thoughts on love. Typical, given how he acted any other time, but Geata found he had been hoping that he had happened to strike upon a bit of true human emotion beneath the cold facade that Anonymous put forth. But if the faceless telepath thought that the chemical aspect of love was the only thing worth noting, he was even more of an emotional cripple than Geata.
"The chemical reaction is all well and good, and you're not wrong, but I think you're missing the bigger picture. What's important isn't the actual process, but what causes it, if you catch my meaning. It's less the feeling that makes people act the way they do, but what makes them feel the emotion. If seeing a specific person's face is the only thing that can make you feel one particular, wonderful emotion, then that person deserves to be made to feel as special as they are. Not that you'll probably understand that."
He paused and considered Anon's actual question before shrugging absentmindedly. "That's the only answer I can really give, honestly. You might be expecting me to say that it's a move to spend more time with Azoth or something else, but that really doesn't factor in. I just want access to the resources, as I can do more with those in a month than my cumulative efforts of a lifetime in the Bulwarks. Besides, there's nothing stopping me from doing as I think best if I become a Keeper. Same could be said of the Pandas, honestly, but the fact remains the same that I can make better use of the Keepers than the Pandas."
There was also the fact that he could help more people by spreading Keeper info to the right hands, but Geata doubted Anon needed him to vocalize that. It was simply the logical choice, but not one he was quite committed to yet. There were still certain factors keeping him from it, but that wasn't what Anonymous asked, and it wasn't anything that would be important to him.
Geata moved the knight forward again as he eyed the strange coin. "So, Harvey Dent, what's the story behind the coin? Most people wouldn't keep something like that unless there was some sort of sentimental value."

Anonymous looked to the side as Geata gave the deeper explanation; he looked as though he’s not paying attention to his word, but in truth he is listening to his every words. And here he said he isn’t in tune with his emotion when he can clearly explain what he believed love is like an expert. Looking at the sunlight shine through the red and yellow leaves in the distance, Anonymous once again found himself wandering through the field of melancholy, completely unaware of his surroundings.
“How long has it been, I wonder?” He said to himself; the moment went for about a minute before his thought return back to the conversation and the chess game. He stopped rolling the coin across his hand and put it away while looking straight at the chess board.
“Well what do you know? I’m surprise that we actually shared something in common, Skeletor.”
He leaned back to his chair when Geata asked his question; of course he would feel curious about the coin when he played with it. Though the nickname he used is rather a weak attempt of calling him name. He let out a smile and looked quite calm about it:
“I believe I've had it for quite a long time now. Don’t really remember who it is from though,” he tried to remember in his head, “one of my early works? A gift? Something I managed to swipe from the crime-scene? I’m afraid my memory isn’t perfect either, but that’s a little thing about memories: sometime you remember it one way, and sometime it’s another. But hey, if I have to have a past, it’s more fun if they were multiple choices.”
It was a lie, if Geata can somehow read his mind; he remembered the whole situation all too well that he actually wish he can just forget. However, there’s no point of sharing such information to him, or at least sharing the truth about it. It was quite foolish of Geata to agree on the term that Anonymous lay out without paying any attention to his word choice. Anonymous is a master of poker-face: unless Geata can actually read through his thought, he can never detect his statement to be a lie at all.
“Now then,” he picked up one of the bishop and move it out into the board in a position that he can take Geata’s knight on his next turn, “considering how you manage to explain love from before, have there been someone in your life that gave you such wonderful emotion? If it not poor little Azoth, I am quite curious about the type of person that manage to catch your fancy.”

Geata had heard plenty of lies in his lifetime. Everything from "no I didn't take the last soda" to stuff like "I promise," "see you soon," and "I love you." Pretty depressing when he actually thought about it, but that wasn't anything he concerned himself with most of the time and something he could easily dismiss as long as there was something else to focus on. However, he had been raised on deceit, fed on falsehoods from the day he was born, and shaped by the many lies told by and to him throughout his lifetime. He felt a certain distrust towards anything he couldn't absolutely prove to be right, no matter what it was. And yet he had nothing telling him that Anonymous was lying besides circumstantial evidence and a gut feeling. Damn faceless, featureless bastard and his lack of tells. Still, Anon had said no lying (although there wasn't anything that ensured he would keep his word), so Geata decided to take the answer given at face value.
Geata raised a brow at the question asked. "Clearly I haven't," he said matter-of-factly, "if I couldn't tell you if I've fallen for Azoth or not. Simply put, I have a lot of secondhand experience with love, but I've never had the pleasure of truly knowing if I've experienced it myself." He hadn't really spent enough time anywhere to find somebody to really be interested in romantically, let alone actually try to pursue a romance with said hypothetical person. But Geata's mind drifted away from that topic quickly, not thinking in greater detail on the answer. Instead, he was simply mildly annoyed by the question and greatly confused about why he was doing all of this in first place.
He sighed absentmindedly as he moved his other knight forward from its starting position. "Tell me, Anonymous. Why haven't you joined the Keepers yourself? You'd have access to the archive, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot given to them in return. Not to mention other benefits. Seems like a pretty good deal, as far as you'd be concerned."

Anonymous let out a chuckle from Geata’s question and his silliness in his thought. The fact that he doesn’t believe in the idea that he is in love with Azoth is even more hysterical than he thought. He might not be an expert in the field, and obviously Geata isn’t lying about the fact that he is in love with her, that doesn’t change the fact that there’re something between them. Even if he isn’t acknowledged it, the relationship between the two of them is slightly more than just business partner.
“Well you’re still young, so I’m sure you will figure things out eventually; unless you got yourself in a life-or-death situation in the dragon fight that, if your information is correct, is approaching. Try not to do something stupid that might get you kill,” he picked up the bishop from earlier and roll it around his finger, “I have a feeling little Misty will be devastated if something happen to you.”
Looking at the board to notice the position of his chess pieces, Anonymous took a little thinking for his answer:
“Honestly, if I were to join the Keeper, then where’s the fun in obtaining such information? It’ll be so boring if everything can be solved that easy. Besides, I don’t really like the idea of joining a cult; don’t get me wrong, Skeletor, if you want to commit your full loyalty, probably your life, to the people who will care more about controlling their underling, then you can chug all those Kool-Aid to your heart’s content.”
Anonymous then move the bishop in his hand and captured one of the knight without much of a strategy behind it. Taking his knight piece, Anonymous place it right on his side of the board, lying down on the side:
“You know, the black knight appeared in numerous times in Arthurian stories, usually as an opponent that the other knights have to fight in their quest for the Holy Grail. However, the modern-day interpretation has changed its symbolism into a secret protector working in the shadow, who will sometime being used as a scapegoat when the very people he want to protect turned against him.
Do tell, in your complete honest opinion, what do you really feel about me? Do explain the reason your reasoning too; I am quite curious about your harsh out-burst when we met in the mansion that day.”

Geata couldn't shake the realization that Anonymous could lie about any of his answers without so much as giving a single tell. It made the entire game moot. If he asked Anon a question he didn't want to answer, he wasn't guaranteed an honest answer. However, Anon could ask whatever he wanted and he was able to get the truth whether it was given or not. Geata was the first to point out that he was an idiot, but he could recognize a stacked game when he saw one, and he had no desire to play when the offered price didn't necessarily exist.
Still, he had agreed, and even if it was under potentially false pretenses, he felt obligated to at least respond to what was already said. First, the comments on his loyalties to the Keepers. "Honestly, I couldn't care less about swearing loyalty and all that jazz. It's a means to an end, nothing more. For some reason, I feel like you can understand, Anon."
Then the actual question. Geata couldn't help but sigh at the symbolism. "I hope you aren't trying to say that you're a misunderstood hero. In all honesty, you're an asshole. Easily one of the worst people I've met to have received powers, if not the absolute worst. You have no regard for human life, and you have no qualms torturing others for your amusement. Even the actual self proclaimed villains have more humanity than you. It's that simple, Anonymous, and that's exactly why I have no issues doing this."
He flipped the faceless super off before dropping through a portal. He'd emerge above a nearby rooftop, but he'd quickly keep moving. As far as he was concerned, he forfeited.

Anonymous sighed; not only does Geata decided to leave the game hanging, he also being quite rude when he does nothing wrong to the guy. If he wanted to concede defeat, all he has to do is said so in the beginning; why else would he agree on playing only to leave mid way?
“Talk about a wasted afternoon; just when the game has finally started to heat up too.” he said to himself.
He gazed at the empty chair, observing the unfinished chess game before give it a shrug:
“Oh well, guess that mean he’s forfeit the match. Man, that’s so boring; I was expecting a much tougher game than that. I hate it when people keep leaving the game hanging like this, so rude.”
Anonymous then slowly start putting the game away in the briefcase. As he picked up the black knight on the side, he looked at it with intensity. Geata’s response to the question sure fill with profanity, even assuming Anonymous was calling himself to be a misunderstood hero. What a joke: he has never view himself as a hero, or even called himself misunderstood. What a moron.
And yet, he simply looked at the black knight, contemplating about Geata’s response. Something about it just felt…wrong, seemingly as though his word are as sharp as a dagger piercing through his flesh. Just as he contemplating about it, a voice echoed in his mind; a voice that sound almost like it was choking for breath:
“I-I’m glad you’re okay.”
Upon hearing the voice, Anonymous put down the black knight and slum on his chair. He pulled out his silver coin and rolled it across his finger. People’s voices started to echo through his mind, and none of them are good thing. Azoth, Unhallow and Geata’s comments just start flying around his head, calling him a heartless monster, an asshole, and all type of profanity names. Those voices continued to echo until he stop rolling his coin, and hear that familiar voice appear once again:
“Today was a great day; promise me we will do this again soon, okay?”
He started at the coin in his hand, only to see the blood-soak side staring right back at him. He clenched the coin in his palm as he looked down on the ground, hiding his eyes below his fedora. The image appeared once again, and Anonymous can’t help but grind his teeth in frustration and anger. The images of people screaming in pain, covered in blood, and the shriek of horror began to echo through his head.
“SHUT UP!!!!!!” He screamed out, pushing all the voices away until there’s nothing left but the silence of the park. He gazed up once again at the chessboard, looking stern at it before putting everything away.
Once everything is cleaned up, Anonymous stood from his seat and take his exit. He stop to look back over his shoulder in the direction where he felt Geata’s thought before it disappeared from his view:
“You’re right about one thing, Skeletor: how can I have any humanity when I’m not even human?”
