It was rare for Aurora to actually go into the new Pandaemonium base outside of her office. She'd checked up on the area once since acquiring the base, not because she was avoiding everyone or wanted to be seen as above or too good for them somehow, but because she simply didn't have the time to actually enjoy her creations lately. Landing on the ground instead of going straight for the large window in her office got a few looks, but she didn't mind them at all. This didn't happen often, people should enjoy it as long as they didn't bother her too much. Her aurora gracefully floated down behind her, looking like a large colorful cape. Her reason for coming today wasn't to check up on everyone or even to make sure everything was going smoothly inside; no she just wanted to get some food without having to deal with the hassle of going elsewhere to get it. She couldn't remember the last time she ate, which was probably a bad sign, but her body was starting to complain enough that avoiding taking the time to it would just be distracted. Plus, she was out of snacks.
There was some chatter outside that left her confused. People wondering what she was going to think of something, or wondering how she could possibly be that vain were the hotter topics. Aurora raised an eyebrow as she made her way into the entrance. She had no idea what they were talking about. Did something happen since the last time she was here? The comment about vanity was especially confusing because she hadn't done anything new or unusual lately. Sure she made a spectacle everywhere she went, but shouldn't everyone be used to that by now? She ignored it for now and walked inside.
That was when her questions were answered. Inside, she heard the sound of running water before she even got through the doors. She did not authorize putting a fountain in here or commission anything of the sort, so her mood was already a little sour before she even looked at it. Once inside the base proper, she looked up at the new fountain with a glare, only for that gaze to slowly transform once she got a good look at it. Her jaw dropped and her cheeks started turning a bright red. The fountain itself was well-crafted with nice water spouts and a golden rim, but that wasn't what caught her attention. In the center of the fountain was a golden statue in her likeness, complete with gems, and even posing dramatically with her coat billowing the way she liked it. Her mind went blank, to the point that for a moment all she could do was stand in place and stare. Aurora had no idea to react to something like this or even how to feel about it. The entire thing was just embarrassing.
"Wh-What the fuck?"

Geata honestly didn't know why they had gotten the idea to make a golden statue of Aurora with the jewelry they had stolen after the failed robbery. He had even less of an idea of why he went to Azoth to help. And the thing he understood least was why she had agreed to do so. Still, it had all happened and, as such, he and Blue Jay were now responsible for the creation of a golden statue of Aurora. They were also, even more recently, responsible for the creation of its accompanying fountain.
He didn't know the technical details on how the fountain was made, in regards to the waterworks. He had tuned out anything said by Limen on that subject, but he was aware of how it was shaped. After all, he'd done that. Jay, by virtue of super strength, pushed the fountain into place while Geata used an insane amount of incredibly small portals to carve away the excess material. Currently, it was all lying on top of the Geataland roof, to be properly disposed of later. For now, though, he was simply looking over his handiwork to make sure that he hadn't missed anything. So far, he hadn't found any flaws and was pleased with his work. And then Aurora came in.
Her reaction was a bit less explosive than Geata expected. He'd thought for sure she'd be yelling about what a waste of resources the project was or putting them down for coming up with such a stupid idea in the first place within three seconds. That had not happened, and that encouraged Geata. He supposed it may be possible that they might've actually done something positive. The odds were slim, he knew, but one could hope.
"Ta-da," Geata said happily with a flourish towards the fountain, with the statue in its proper place. "You just missed Limen, but she pitched in and helped make this. As for what this is, well. Simply put, and I think I speak for most everyone involved when I say this, this is a symbol of our appreciation for you, what you've done, and what you intend to do. Admittedly, I think Blue Jay over there actually put in more effort, but it was a group effort," he chuckled. "Anyway, what do you think? Fitting for the leader of Pandaemonium, no?"

Blue Jay was returning from a soda run. Almost a dozen cans of the first almost dozen sodas available in the kitchen’s fridge were balanced in his arms, and he walked with a step to match the sugar content presently in his possession. He entered the proper at about the same time as Aurora.
The fuck about summed it up. How this had happened, why this had happened, and how Geata’d managed to pull it off was still a mystery to him, but some things were better left unsolved and this seemed a bad gift horse to look in the mouth. One way or another it had, and getting caught up in it all had been well worth the effort, falling down a sixty-foot hole (which was entirely Geata’s fault and he would not be convinced otherwise), and pushing large heavy objects around. Aurora needed a statue and they had provided.
Geata played the part of the show’s host well, leaving Blue Jay an opportunity to pass out drinks. They’d managed to recruit a whole seven Pandaemonium unpowereds to help clean up the room - sweep and polish the floors (a job that would need to be somewhat redone in a moment, but oh well), clean the other decor, generally pick up - for the grand reveal. He tossed each one of them a soda as he crossed the room to Geata.
“Says the guy who figured out how to get the statue made and carved the fountain.” Blue Jay chuckled, holding out a sprite to Geata. Not for drinking, of course.
Blue Jay trotted towards Aurora. Judging by the color of her face and the lack of any innocent bystanders yet sacrificed to a punch, this was a good response.
“Your timing is impeccable. You can just in time for the toast!” He extended to her a cherry coke, pre-shook for proper soda toasting effect. If she didn’t take it of her own volition, he would be kind and place it in her hands for her.
He took several steps backwards, giving the singular remaining coke in his hands a couple of hard shakes, and eagerly awaited her response to Geata’s question.

Aurora didn't grab the can, or even push Blue Jay out of the way when he forced it into her hand. It still fell to the floor because she didn't wrap her hands around it. Even though people were trying to talk to her, all she could do was stand there in stunned silence. As they talked, she looked around the room. Between their words and all the eyes on her, her cheeks became a little redder. She had no idea how to feel about this. It was weird, awkward, and yet she couldn't be upset with them for it. It was rare for her to get anything more than a thank you, and even that didn't happen all that frequently. Even then, those thank yous always felt more like social obligation to her than genuine thanks, part of the reason she hated those social obligations so much; it made it so she couldn't tell the difference between genuine appreciation and going through the motions. There was no denying what this was though. This wasn't easy to do, and it was so absurd. Absurd enough that for the first time in a long time, she found herself unable to make eye contact with anyone.
"Why? Just--Not why but..." She rubbed her forehead and took a deep breath as she focused to compose her words. "I am not that kind of leader! It's--this isn't supposed to be about me, it's about all of us. Building some kind of monument is...weird. Is that solid gold? Is that really the best thing you could think of to do with that much gold?"
That much gold would be a drop in the bucket compared to the funds she had, but having something like that in the lobby would continue to be awkward. It made her think of the leaders of the past that would get their subjects to build these absurd things for nothing more than to feed their ego. This was done on their own volition, and it seemed unlikely that anyone was seriously hurt or killed making it, sure, but she still couldn't shake that feeling. And yet, on some level she liked it. She couldn't make sense of the contradictory emotions, but even what little she could make sense of left her feeling more happy and a little embarrassed than anything else. Her face continued to get redder the more she thought about it, and after a moment's pause she sighed.
"It can stay." Aurora paused again, trying to come up with the words to actually express what she was feeling. Nothing came that was strong enough, so she had to settle. "Thank you."
She didn't bother to pick up the soda. Aurora had no idea what they were doing with them, and she didn't want to drink it herself, so there was no point in doing so. Instead, she headed to the cafeteria with her head up high, though she was walking noticeably faster than usual.

Geata took the offered soda, his movements slow and confused. He didn't understand why he had been offered a soda, all things considered. It wasn't like he was able to drink it, and what other purposes could soda serve? He simply held onto it, very confused and somewhat concerned about what was going on. When Aurora let hers fall to the floor, though, he dropped that soda through a portal and caught it. He wasn't sure why he had a soda, but he had one for some reason so it probably served some purpose. Keeping a second one on hand would probably be beneficial and, if not, he couldn't simply let Aurora trash up her own building after getting a statue. That would be rude.
"You make it sound like those were difficult," he said sheepishly in response to Blue Jay, still eyeing the Sprite can like it would offer an epiphany on what it was for. "You were the one pushing the stuff around so I could shape the fountain, my effort put in was equivalent to reading a page or two of a good book." All Geata really had to do was bat his eyelashes at Azoth (metaphorically speaking, of course) and concentrate while other people actually did work. He didn't deserve as much credit as Jay made it sound.
Aurora's question elicited a nervous chuckle from Geata. "Um, actually yes, it was," he said, starting to feel Aurora's embarrassment secondhand. "We were dumb and stole it so it couldn't be stolen, realized the issues with that plan later, and needed to do something with it. We tossed around a few ideas, Blue Jay jokingly suggested this, and now, well, here we are. Seemed like a good idea." Granted, it had been his idea to take the jewelry so that it couldn't be taken after his speedy escape, but the whole reason he had left the scene early was because Jay had decided to play dead, the asshole. He could afford to be dragged down with him after that.
He breathed a sigh of relief when Aurora seemed to actually like the fountain. Geata hadn't done too much, but it was still a lot of work that would've went to waste had she disliked the idea. He had no doubts that there would be a mixed reaction amongst the Pandas about it being there, but one thing could definitely be said for Aurora's leadership: she was certainly leaving more permanent marks upon the gang than most of the previous leaders could probably claim. Between it being far more organized than it had been and the fact that they now actually had a base, it was going to be hard to forget her influences on the faction.
"No, Aurora, thank you," he said. "This is a symbol of our appreciation for you. There's no reason to thank us for thanking you." Then he saw what Blue Jay was doing, as well as the random Pandas following his example, and the reasons for the sodas damned on Geata. He took a step back, away from everyone closest to him, and shook his head a little at Jay. He knew exactly where that was going and it was a bad idea. Especially since he couldn't think of the last time he had seen Aurora in a good mood like she was currently in. Or if he'd ever seen her in a good mood. He really hoped Jay didn't do something to screw up such a rare occurrence.

Even Blue Jay could tell this was starting to get sappy. The only thing that would’ve made it moreso was a group hug with everyone here and Aurora at the center. He’d’ve been plenty happy to settle for that, but based on past events, it seemed very, very unlikely to get farther than the first person’s attempt at embrace. Probably then with that person’s trip to the dentist. It felt weird, though, to just leave the exchange at that and have Aurora just walk off. This was a celebration of Aurora and a monument to her, after all.
Blue Jay had originally intended to have everyone spray the sodas upwards or something (the amount of thought he’d put into this began and ended at ‘soda toast’), but when one of the unpowereds opened his can on the guy next to him, an idea dawned on Blue Jay. He trotted to catch up with Aurora, slowing to remain in stride alongside her when he caught up.
“There’s another reason too. You’re always off doing stuff, and when you’re here, you’re doing work. We don’t see a lot of you just doing recreational stuff. We thought this statue could be stand-in you for when we get lonely.” Blue Jay said with enough of an overly serious tone to make sure it was understood he was being sarcastic. “But, we do really want to spend more time with you that isn’t work. So,”
He angled the can towards Aurora and popped the lid. Pressure released, and a colorful spray of just about everything that was wrong with the country shot out at Aurora’s side in a bright, carbonated wave.
“Tag!” Blue Jay yelled pleasantly. And then he turned, stuffed the now mostly empty can in his pocket, and booked it down the nearest hallway. It wasn’t a hug, but play and teasing were the next best ways to show affection.
Several of the mooks, wet and dry alike, gave Aurora a weary look, and soon, too, began to scatter. It was the time to run, hide, and lock the doors behind you for all it would do, for Aurora was ‘it’.

Geata's explanation was enough to get her to stop for a moment and raise an eyebrow at him. She heard about the robbery, but didn't realize the actual story behind it was this stupid. That gold probably weighed as much as she did, and they really couldn't think of a better thing to do with it than this? Seriously?
"What?" Aurora shook her head, this entire day was proving to be weird. "You know, you can explain later. I need to get some food."
She continued to make her way to the cafeteria with a small smile on her face, even if she was still walking faster than usual. It was nice to actually be appreciated for once because it never actually felt like people cared. She was even willing to let Geata's comment about the statue originally being a joke slide as poor word choice on his end. Aurora didn't notice it at first due to the statue in the middle of the room, but the place was also cleaner than it had been since she waxed the floors and repainted the walls when she first took over this building. It was a nice feeling, it meant she wasn't going to have to do it later. It was enough to cancel out how cranky she was from not eating for so long. Then Blue Jay felt the need to open his mouth and her expression flattened.
"I wouldn't have to work as much if--"
Her rant was interrupted by soda spraying into her side, and some of it splashing into her face and mouth. His words enough were enough to make her want to punch him, but getting wet and choking on a bit of surprise splash made her want to do worse than that. Aurora stopped moving, balled her hands into fists, and started grinding her teeth so hard they could have cracked. This really was all just a joke wasn't it? These idiots all thought they were so hilarious when they weren't anything like that. By the time she opened her eyes again, most of the bystanders, including Blue Jay, were already fleeing, so she had to settle for the closest target. She moved to push Geata into the fountain with enough force that with any luck he'd hit his head on the base of the statue too. Successful or not, she'd still make her way to the cafeteria. She was far too hungry to chase these morons down.
All she wanted when she entered the base today was a bowl of cereal.

Geata, for one, understood food being a high priority and also understood needing some time to process something so unexpected as suddenly having a statue. The lack of calling them idiots for stealing to prevent a theft cemented the situation as "too good to mess with." That was why, as Blue Jay got closer to Aurora, Geata could only stand there like a deer in headlights, hoping that he wouldn't do anything to mess with it and trying to convince himself that he wasn't quite dumb enough to try anything. His hopes were quickly dashed as he watched with horror as Aurora got sprayed with soda. Unlike everyone else, he didn't try to leave. Somebody had to stay and make an attempt at damage control, and clearly he couldn't rely on any of the nearby idiots, Jay currently included.
As Aurora approached, he mentally prepared for the inevitable punch. He was instead taken by surprise with a push towards the fountain. He went flying through a quickly opened portal and went skidding across the floor towards the cafeteria doorway. When he came to a stop, he simply sat there for a few moments, trying to figure out how to best handle the situation thrust upon him. The only idea that came to mind was to prevent Aurora from getting sprayed in the first place, but last he checked he didn't have time control powers. He'd have to settle with accepting things and punching Blue Jay later once he didn't have Evron in-hand. That didn't make him happy with how things went, though.
"Fucking hell," he said as he finally started to climb to his feet before looking at Aurora. "What the fuck, man? I get how annoying that is - trust me, I myself am seething over it - but that's no reason to take your anger out on me or the crap that we made as thanks to you." On the other side of him, multiple small portals opened up, leading to the various rooms in the direction that Jay had run. "Dammit, Jay," he muttered irritably through the portals. "Get back here and apologize because, surprise surprise, Aurora's pissed. And I'm the one suffering your consequences, you ass."
He turned back to Aurora and sighed. "I'm really sorry. I'll clean up this mess real quick, no worries. Is there anything I can get for you, or do for you, et cetera? He means well, as I'm sure you know, he's just a bit... you throw him off, Aurora. He's not used to wanting to be friends with someone who doesn't want to be friends in return, and he's trying to encourage you to be more friendly, put bluntly. He tries a lot harder with you than I've seen or heard of with anyone else."
With that said, Geata turned and looked at the various spots with soda. Portals opened along the floor, underneath the puddles and droplets. He couldn't actually clean it like that, as there was still residue and a little liquid from where the portals had actually opened, but it saved time trying to sop it all up. And, admittedly, he was just pleased that he was able to be so precise worth his power. Next thing he needed to do, though, was try and figure out where the various Pandas had put the mops. Geata had missed the day where Aurora designated where the broom closet would be.

Doors had been unnecessary for a long while, and so Blue Jay didn’t bother using the one belonging to Fourth Room on the Right. Once safely teleported inside, he stopped to breath and take in his surroundings. More specifically, he keened his ear to listen to the clacking footsteps that heralded Aurora’s presence. Oddly, he heard no such thing. He was fairly surprised to find Aurora was not chasing after him like a mad swarm of bees. And kinda disappointed, actually. Had she found another target instead, or wandered (angrily) off to do her own thing?
The answer was number one, so suggested Geata’s impression of Aurora through a portal that appeared not long after. Blue Jay’s face flattened. But, he did indeed ‘get back there’. Geata’s punch through space extended what was technically within seven feet of him by quite a bit, and so by means of using it, Blue Jay appeared about a foot away from Geata, wearing a peeved expression he wasn’t going to bother hiding from his friends.
“Why would I apologize? We just built her a fucking statue. I think I have full right to tease Aurora a little. So no, I'm not going to apologize.” He huffed, crossing his arms.
He did raise an eyebrow at Geata, though. “So how come when you do stuff like drop me down holes or put saran wrap across my doorway you laugh at my misfortune and pain, but when Aurora gets sprayed with a little soda suddenly you’re kissing up and saying you’re so sorry? I’m seeing a pretty clear bias here, man.” He was teasing, mostly.

Aurora wasn't the least bit surprised that Geata used his portals to avoid getting wet, but at this point she'd blown off enough steam that she didn't immediately get the urge to punch something again. He skidded to a stop not too far in front of her, and in her path to the cafeteria. She loomed over him, at least until he got up. As easy as it would have been to go around him, she didn't feel like it, so she continued on the same path even though it would take her right through him. She reached out to push him out of the way, not caring if he moved or not before then; she'd complete the motion regardless.
"Move."
She shoved the door to the cafeteria open with far more force than was necessary and made her way inside. Her good mood was completely soured by this point, and Geata talking back to her was not helping. Feeling generous, she decided to ignore his comments, since half of them were directed towards Blue Jay anyway, and focus on his desire to make up for all of this. She paused at the door, catching it as it swung back towards her in order to keep it open and prevent it from hitting her in the face because of how hard she opened it in the first place.
"Soda has a ridiculous amount of sugar among other things in it. Just getting rid of the liquid isn't going to get the floor clean. If it's not cleaned properly, it'll get sticky. I'm also going to need to get my laundry done," Aurora poked the wet spot in the sleeve of her coat. "It's absolutely disgusting. And if we're going to make this room look nice we might as well go all the way and get around to decorating it properly and cleaning up some of the water damage, the damage trim on some of the walls, and cleaning out the windows and light fixtures."
That should be enough to get him started at least. She was getting ready to move into the cafeteria proper when Blue Jay appeared again. Her glare deepened as she looked in his direction. If he kept hiding she would have been more content at this point, she had no desire to be in his presence.
"Somehow I'm not surprised that you see my happiness as something you need to spoil."
With that, she turned back around and went into the cafeteria, slamming the door shut behind her.

Geata moved out of Aurora's way, not giving it much thought, but stopped trying to remember the last direction he saw the mops go and turned to look at her when she continued speaking. "Yes, mother," he sighed, shaking his head before muttering to himself. "Next you'll be telling me how you can't clean something without hot, soapy water. What is it with you people and acting like I've never cleaned anything before?" He swiftly realized he was in a particularly bad mood all of sudden and that he should probably shut his trap before he made things even worse. Even if he really wanted to comment on the sudden workload dropped on him because of other people's actions. Yeah, give him the task of cleaning up the entirety of the room (and eventually the building, he knew how this shit worked), it wasn't like he had his own things to do. He had been planning on leaving already.
He was busy biting his tongue when Jay spoke up. He simply stared at the offending super. He was by no means intending on denying that there was a bias. He was biased towards the wronged party, obviously. When Blue Jay played dead, Geata had rushed and made a stupid decision in order to get him back to the boarding house quickly to make sure that everything was fine. And, unsurprisingly, he really wasn't in the mood to get into that. Not with the current situation unfolding around him.
Geata was almost tempted to simply blow off the tasks given to him, especially after Aurora slammed the door behind her and gave him a perfect opportunity, but a somewhat reasonable part of his mind convinced him not to. If he left things the way they were, he probably couldn't trust the two children not to burn the house down while he was gone. Between Aurora's temper tantrum and Jay antagonizing her, it was like he was dealing with a couple of five year olds. How they had even managed to survive each other's company so far was beyond him, honestly.
"Remind me, why do we bother trying to be friends with her again?" Geata muttered, mostly to Blue Jay but partially to nobody at all. "It's pretty clear that she doesn't want to bother with it, and all we keep doing is make things worse. Hell, that was the first time I've ever seen her smile and it was ruined within a minute. I like her, don't get me wrong, and want to be friends with her, but it might be best if we just leave things be, man. I'm sure she'd probably appreciate that more than our attempts at being nice. I have experience with people like her; it honestly might not be worth the effort we're putting in." In truth, Geata hated to hear himself say that, but he felt it needed said by somebody, and probably sooner rather than later. He was having difficulty deciding if he actually believed his words, though, and it wasn't long before he turned his attention elsewhere to distract himself from the subject.
"Oh, and hey, where's the broom closet at again? Figure I might as well go ahead and clean this mess up before I head out."

Blue Jay stared at Aurora like she had just plunged a knife into his chest. He’d thought himself immune to Aurora’s insults and mean words; those tactics wouldn’t work a second time, or the two-hundred fortieth something time, he had thought with actually a small amount of pride. Normally they didn’t, but unlike Aurora, for whom ‘angry and vexed’ seemed to be her neutral, Blue Jay felt Geata’s irritation and was doing the useful thing of using it to amplify his own feelings, and there was something about Aurora’s blatantly untrue insinuation of character of which he hadn’t the slightest idea how she had reached, and… as much as he wanted to deny it, he did feel kind of guilty. Blue Jay motionlessly and wordlessly watched Aurora leave, still reeling from what felt almost like a betrayal. The door slamming snapped him back.
Blue Jay continued to shoot a stunned expression at the door as he clenched and unclenched his fists as though he was trying to decide which form he liked best. Tearing his eyes angrily away, he muttered a couple of swears under his breath, decided on ‘clenched, tightly’, and began pacing. He was only wearing tennis shoes, but he made sure each step made a thump loud enough to echo a little off the walls. Though, his feet seemed like couldn’t quite decide if they wanted to walk in a circle or back and forth, and he soon was going nowhere quickly.
“Because I still care about her.” Blue Jay spat. “Because she actually cares about all of us supers deep down and I fucking respect her for it, and because unlike half the ‘heroes’ in the city she actually bothers to put an ounce of fucking thought behind what she’s fighting for, and because she still fucking saved my ass even though we were enemies, twice, and because I can trust her, and can rely on her and it means a fucking lot to me.”
Blue Jay stopped abruptly and turned to Geata. “I’m not cleaning it up.” He said indisputably. “Neither are you. It’s one damn thing to ask us to clean up the mess, but then to think she can act like that and then tell us to fix up the whole room, and then to-” He cut off with a sharp breath and aimlessly shook his balled fist.
After a moment, he began pacing again. “I don’t want to try to ‘patch things up’ or whatever by cleaning or doing the light fixtures.” He huffed, crossing his arms and staring down at the terribly offensive dirty floor. His shoes stuck just enough to the ground to irritate him a little further. “And you know what? It’s fine if she hates me. For this and all of the other piles of shit she’s got organized and categorized against me. I can’t really expect anything else, so I don’t really care. I don’t have to try to be this perfect, flawless friend while she pushes me around. I still have the right to draw lines. I can get angry when she says stupid, untrue, mean things like that. I have every damn right to punch back and damn it I’m going to by not cleaning the fucking room.”
Blue Jay slowed to a stop and sighed, and his voice finally lowered to a more inside-approved volume. He wasn’t particularly good at shouting - certainly not for any kind of extended period of time - and it honestly wore him out. He absently unballed his hands and rubbed his still tense fingers and palms, and tiredly continued.
“If things I do piss her off, then great, I’m going to piss her off. I’m not going to change myself to try to meet her ideal of a person. I don’t owe it to her to put on some act around her, and trying to build a friendship off of that is fake. There’s not any point to it, so I’m not going to do it.” He looked at Geata like he had discovered and was going to share something very important. “She needs to suck up and stop being so selfish. I put up with all of her shit, so she should put up with some of mine.”
The anger in his voice slowly diminished as he went on, so by the time he was done he was back to his usual tone. He was still plenty upset, but the people in the neighbouring rooms didn’t need to be altered to the fact. He crossed his arms casually and turned to more fully face Geata.
“And it bothers me to see her push you around, too. I’m not cool with that, and I’m not going to let you fall into it. You’re my friend too, you know? So that’s why I’m not going to tell you were the broom closet is.” The hall to the north, the second door on the left, as it were. He cleaned up enough around the base that he knew where all the cleaning supplies lived, but this was now knowledge he was going to keep tightly to himself and there was nothing Geata could do about it.
Blue Jay sighed. “You want to go get some ice cream? There’s a new place that opened up at the edge of the docks earlier this week.” To apparently quite good business, which he was beginning to suspect was in correlation with the decrease of ice cream in the Pandaemonium freezer. “I’ll pay,” he offered.

Geata wasn't the sort the interrupt a truly deserved angry rant, whether it was directed at him or not. He simply stood there, listening silently and letting Blue Jay vent his frustrations. He wasn't hearing most of what was being said for the first time, but there was enough new material that he stayed focused. Considering how he still needed to find a mop, he probably had better things to do with his time. However, he owed it to Jay to be there for ranting purposes, and he found that hearing the other super express his feelings was somewhat therapeutic. Maybe it was the confirmation that he wasn't the only one fed up with Aurora's crap? Geata didn't really know, but either way he started to chuckle when he was being offered ice cream.
"You know," he said, trying and failing to not laugh at the suggestion, "I'd absolutely love to take you up on that, but I'm afraid I'm presently unable to, considering my 'condition'. Thank you, I do appreciate the offer, but, even if I could, I'd have to refuse. First, I'm getting this floor cleaned one way or another. Don't misunderstand, though; this isn't because she wants me to. If somebody doesn't do it, she'll have to. She's got enough on her plate as it is. More than that, though, if I let it sit it's just going to bother me all day and that can be easily avoided."
"Second," he said as he turned away from Jay and started to pace away, "I sadly have some important stuff to do today. I already should've gotten started on some of it, but I'm late. Now, however, I've struck upon an idea and that takes precedence." A foot in front of him, a wall of foot-wide portals opened, each showing a view of a different room. "Alright, listen up, maggots," he spoke, his tone quickly turning dark without apparent reason. "There's a mess in the foyer that needs cleaned. I suggest that changes before I go to leave, unless you'd all like to be reminded of what happens when I'm upset." The sounds of movement came through the portals as they closed, and Geata turned back to Jay.
"Quite a few people didn't like that a Keeper was strutting around the joint," he explained, his tone back to normal just as quickly as it had changed. "You'd be amazed at how universal a fear of heights seems to be among those who think they've angered a super that's decided to get creative. Now then, while that's getting cleaned, I'm afraid I'm keeping you detained for a bit, old sport. I'll explain momentarily, and I'm counting on you to play along, understood?" Whether he was understood or not, a portal opened underneath each of the two.
The destination wasn't all too far from the starting point of the journey. They fell into the cafeteria, and their arrival was immediately followed by the walls, doors, windows, and ceiling being hidden away by portals. He hadn't seen or heard of Aurora tunneling underneath the city to get around, so he was content to cover all the other potential exits for now. He turned until he saw where the grumpy leader was eating her apparently flavorless cereal (Geata actually felt somewhat offended by that, all things considered) and pointed at a seat across from her. "Sit," he commanded Blue Jay.
"Aurora Disicio, Blue Jay, you're both going to stay in this room until I decide otherwise. I refuse to decide otherwise until the two of you sit down and have a civilized conversation and I'm content that there's a higher level of understanding between the two of you. This can take however long you want it to. I'm sick of hearing whining about being mistreated. Also, to go ahead and get this out of the way, I don't care what you've got to say against this. It's going to happen. I'm currently the one holding all the cards. Anyone makes a threatening move towards me, I'll make my exit and leave the portals here up until I fall asleep later tonight. Nightfall is quite a ways off, so I'd suggest you get started."

“Ah, right.” Blue Jay chuckled awkwardly. How Geata was managing without eating, he had no idea, and Blue Jay couldn’t say he wasn’t concerned for his friend. After all, Aurora wasn’t eating very often either, and he was fairly certain it was contributing negatively to her health and mood, considering actually eating food generally contributed positively to one’s health and mood.
Geata’s sudden change in tone, to dark and ominous threats, he was pressed to believe, confirmed something was off and now Blue Jay was seriously worried. Neither of his friends were eating enough food and it was screwing with their heads.
Geata’s next action only went to support this case. Ominous words were then directed at him, to which he was about to raise question and concern when the floor was no more, and suddenly they were in the cafeteria. Blue Jay was experiencing a high enough level of confusion, aided by a moderate level of fatigue from yelling and a slight lack of balance - he had to catch himself upon being portaled - that when Geata told him to sit, he honestly didn’t know how else to react but to stiffly walk over and sit.
The portal sargent’s explanation was enough to catch him up to speed, and he began to understand what exactly Geata had meant when he asked him to play along. The slight flaw in Geata’s plan of keeping them both here was that, portals or not, trying to keep a teleporter in one place was like trying to keep a dog from lunging for the bacon that fell on the floor. It would not happen, and telling them not to was only going to make them do it faster.
But, besides that he owed Geata for trying to buy him ice cream, and Geata was probably going to incur some wrath with this maneuver and Blue Jay owed it to his friend to help him out however he could, Blue Jay did want to try to talk it out with Aurora. Even though part of him also really did not want to try to talk it out with Aurora, but that was the part of him who liked to stew with a coke. It was going to lose today’s battle.
It didn’t stop him from slouching forward at the table, though, arms crossed on its surface and his head placed atop.
“Why do you think I’m just trying to cause you pain?” He mumbled. “After everything, why do you think I’d have any reason to do that?”

Aurora hadn't been watching her nutrition very closely anymore. Meals were much more about what could be made quickly and eaten quickly rather than what would actually be good for her. She was starting to feel it in her movements, so recently she took some time to look up some quick to make foods that would actually be at least relatively good for her. The bland health cereal was one of those things, and because it wasn't completely covered in sugar, no one besides her ever seemed to eat it. It tasted like cardboard, but it was a good source of fiber and carbs, and even had some nuts for protein. Add in some milk and a glass of orange juice and her body would at least not be completely starved for something if she failed to eat later. There were a couple of other things she rotated in to cover the cereal's holes. It only took her a few seconds to get everything ready, she had a system.
She took a seat at the closest table, and started eating immediately. Her chewing looked more like grinding her teeth than actual chewing, but it was getting the food into her belly so it hardly mattered. After what happened outside, the room was fairly quiet and no one was approaching her. Good, she wasn't in the mood to deal with more inane bullshit right now. It was nice to be able to sit and eat in peace for once, rather than people thinking it was time to go ask her about whatever the hell was on their minds.
Of course, it couldn't last. It never did. Aurora's eyes narrowed when Geata and Blue Jay entered the room, and narrowed further when Geata explained his actions. She glanced around the room, not the least bit intimidated by what he was saying, but given her chewing suddenly got a little bit harder and more pronounced it succeeded in worsening her mood further. If he had just asked she might have been willing the humor him. Maybe. If only because she was going to be stuck sitting here until her food was done anyway, if only because she didn't want to try to carry around a bowl full of milk with her while she was jumping around. She wasn't going to let herself be threatened into compliance though, especially when he was doing such a bad job of it. This wouldn't hold her.
"I refuse," she said flatly. "Besides, I don't think you're in any condition to be threatening me given your current condition." She paused for a moment. "And don't threaten my people either."
