It explodes, wrapping around Khan! Or at least, upon first appearance. The web substance wraps around him about an inch away from his body, hovering just over his skin.
With a gesture of both hands, he shoots the web substance back at Canary, looking to catch her as if it was a net.

Canary tries to take the advantage as she sees it, not realizing her mistake until too late. Her webbing comes flying back at her as she scrambles for the exist, ensnaring her with a success that she would envy if she weren't the target.
The net successfully catches the bright little bird! She grunts, focus divided between breaking free and watching the other shoplifter. Being tossed like a rag doll was bad enough: she didn't want to find out what flying lessons with clipped wings would be like.

Khan curls his index finger in as if gesturing her to come his way--which she does. The ensnared Canary would slide along the floor, stopping in front of Khan who would place his right boot atop her as he looked down at her. He doesn't say anything. He just...stares.

The iconic gestures brings her closer, but not at an alarming rate so much as a humiliating one as she's dragged along. She stares back at him as the weight of his boot presses down upon her, meeting his gaze with silent defiance.

No denying that one. She watches him warily, wondering exactly what it is that's supposed to happen at this point. Canary has already stopped her attempts to break free of the net. She made it, after all. She knew how she stood against it, and had no intention of showing off further failures.
"That would be what the improvements are for."

He snickers before stepping off her.
"I appreciate your offer to stay for the clean up. I'm sure the police will have questions." He starts to walk away.

"Hmph." For once, Canary deigns not to respond, instead focusing on getting out of her traitorous net and making a mental note about adjustments to her super suit.
Right up until the cops are mentioned. There's a slight pause before she sets at it with renewed vigor.
"Dick," she mutters, not caring if he hears her or not. Certain now she would need to work on a few things when she got home unscathed - and believing there would be no other option, no matter how narrow her escape - Canary removes part of the net. Not near enough for her liking, the sticky material saw to that, but it's a start.
"I'm sure they'll love[ hearing about you." She rolls over towards one of the metal display racks anchored on the shelf she'd been hiding behind, using it to try and peel more of the material off.

Khan lets her squirm to do as she wishes, seemingly on his way out. At the comment about talking to the police however he pauses. He turns and stares at her for a long moment before walking back towards her. He takes a knee right in front of her, face hovering inches away from hers. He doesn't say anything.
...he just keeps staring.

The fact remains that Canary is more interested in freeing herself than dealing with whatever results her insult may have brought. In truth, she'd thought he had left already, or would shortly after, that he would leave her to squirm and figure a way out on her own. Her current one seemed to be working, albeit at a much slower pace.
And then he's there again, eye level and staring. For a moment, she stops, staring back at him, gaze still wary. Is he taunting her, or planning to do something else? Would it be to mock her further, or make escape more difficult?
Then she looks away, more intent on freeing herself than humoring him and whatever thoughts are stirring behind those eyes. Yay progress!
"What?" Okay, she might just be a bit curious about why he's staring at her. That's not normal. Not for a getaway, anyway.

"...good." He nods, cupping her chin in his hand as he leans in, bringing their faces closer together.
"Let them know. Tell them Khan is coming for them."
Still cupping her chin in one hand, he'd bring his metal fist across her jaw, looking to knock her out.

As may have been noticed before, Kanary is not the strongest, nor the most durable. Considering her crash landing from earlier, her position was uncomfortable to begin with before the guy decided to touch her. That in itself was alarming, every alert in her mind screaming at her to get out of Dodge while she could. She'd already been introduced to what he could do at a distance, but up close? She wasn't really feeling round two.
Her progress continued, even as he held her chin in place and forced her to focus on him. There wasn't much she could do, but at least her arms could move, and that was all she needed. As he brings his hand into a fist and announces his alias, Canary's arm jerks towards him, unleashing a burst of pepper spray (maneuver alteration 1) at his eyes!
The blow lands, knocking into her arm, which alters the blow from knowing her out, but she definitely feels it.

He wasn't ready for Canary's escape to be so quick as the pepper spray goes off. He turns his head on instinct but it's unnecessary as it bounces off his face and back outwards. Problem was, it wasn't a solid and the pepper spray mists between the two of them.
Khan grunts under his mask as he blinks several times and moves away, wiping at them with the back of his hand. Canary would be spared this, but would suffer the opposite problem Khan was. Canary's goggles protected her eyes, but she would find it hard to breathe in the mist. Khan's mask protected him from this, but his eyes were hazy.
He stumbles away, putting his hand on the counter to stabilize himself.

Foolish, but a risk worth taking? The mist drifts between them, and though Canary tries not to inhale the stuff, it doesn't exactly work when getting hit. Even holding her breath lasts so long before said blow knocks her jaw, leaving her mouth open for a dreadful moment.
The acrid mist burns down her throat like it's on fire, causing her to gag as Khan turns away. Breathing was definitely difficult, and frustrating as the pathway to freedom remained so close.
She rolls onto her side as the coughing continues, her breath in agitated gasps as the net tears apart, leaving her free of one of her confinements, only to be a victim of another. But she's closest to the exist leading outside, and with it comes a breath of air with a small breeze.
Sweet, sweet fresh air. Forcing herself to remain calm, Canary pulls off the rest of the net and tries to muffle the sound of her coughing as she gets to her hands and knees, determined to make it outside while Khan's back was turned.
She does miss breathing. It's putting a damper on that speed she'd normally have.

Khan is pissed.
Not exactly from the attack, it was expected as he was attacking her after all. He was pissed that he allowed something so small, so insignificant to hinder him. His anger was with himself, though that's not where he intended to take it out.
Vision still obscured, Khan couldn't see that well, but he could hear. He listens for Canary, but her muffled coughing doesn't provide much information. He shakes his head an refocuses, instead trying to remember where the two exits were.
He picks the nearest one and waves both hands towards him, trying to pull everything in that direction back towards the middle of the room. There wasn't much finesses in this motion. Whereas before Canary may have felt herself compelled to a direction, this time it would feel like a strong wind as it wasn't focused on any specific object.
