Keeping out of the slums and high-bred areas was Valkyrie's best option at this point. For all she had done what she needed to do, for all that she had been better tonight, she had no intention of dying the same night she'd made a kill. She knew what awaited her if she stuck around and so, as always, she was on the move. On the move through Emerald City, a blur of red and blonde in the night as lights became prominent along with the nightlife. these sorts of people, she knew. They lived it up, didn't notice one more body among them, and made for excellent cover as needed.
Besides, she could use a chance to blow off some adrenaline.
She made her way through the crowed with ease and a look of distaste, adopting the air of one better than those around her. They would be the ones to wheedle and beg for a spot into a place others deemed worthwhile, of prominent standing. They were the fools. Either you made it, or you didn't. How didn't matter as long as you did. The same attitude left a breath of space in her wake, no one getting too close as she pushed through the line and continued on into the night. They didn't even notice her. Stupid, assuming wastes of space.
What other people would be out tonight, living their lives, knowing nothing else of what happened elsewhere in the city? And what, if anything, would they bring with them that would make any of them worth her interest?

Once again, unsurprisingly, Geata was bored. He supposed he could have went to one of his fellow supers for something entertaining to do, but that was exhausting and even low key happenings were draining. It was this dilemma that left Geata wandering through downtown, hoping against hope for both something and nothing.
He was emerging from a side street when he noticed a blonde woman in red passing through a swarm of people. While that alone wouldn't be all that interesting, her body language caught his attention. She acted like somebody from Malachite Isle traversing the land of the common plebian. As obviously out of place as she was, he decided following her for a bit would keep him occupied for a little while, at least.

The attitude drew the attention of others as she went, though it wasn't until she slowed that the looks she was given were readable. Some where curiosity, others a mask of scorn, while others still didn't care so long as she wasn't going to steal their spot in line. Either she was used to these sorts of reactions, or skilled at ignoring them. Her movements are fluid and precise as she comes across a fellow several inches taller and certainly more weight on her, all muscle. The edge of her lip curls in a sneer as he approaches, not bothering to step out of the way so he can make his way around her. He'd learn to move.
He seemed to realize his mistake as she continued to draw near, the look on his face shifting from one of intent to confusion as the laws of society ceased to exist as he knew them. Despite the difference in size, he flinched when they collided, earning a dark look from the lithe blonde that could pierce through a dragon.
"The fuck? Watch it." Though he stepped aside, Valkyrie was not in the mood for anyone's attitude, especially from some snot-nosed punk who thought he was all that. Without pause, she reached a hand out and slammed a palm flat against his stomach, sending him flying with a blurred motion. The man fell against the wall in the alleyway, the sound of a crack puncturing the air as he went limp and crumpled to the ground.

Geata watched with amazement as the woman sent a man flying with a single hit, showcasing a feat of super human strength. The instant the man guy a wall, the ground beneath the woman would seemingly vanish, causing her to drop and land on a nearby rooftop, away from prying eyes. Geata himself would follow in much the same way, landing a few yards away from her.
He waited for her reaction. Normally, he would've said something, introduced himself even. The woman's precious actions made it pretty clear that she wasn't in a talkative mood, hence the distance between the two. He didn't know what to expect from her, and it wouldn't do to have to worry about being struck down before his curiosity abated.
Needless to say, his boredom was long forgotten.

It was well that he kept the distance that he had, for the moment he was on the roof, Geata would find several knifes flying at him at several angles, the woman already on the move towards him at a different entirely as she swiftly moved and rushed him from behind. She was faster than she was strong, and had no issue putting that to practice as she tested to see how well the hooded figure could move and keep up their little trick.
It also would help make her night even better if she could just knock him off the roof.
"You have exactly three seconds to tell me what the fuck you want."

Geata blinked in surprise as several portals opened up in between him and the various knives, sending them flying at Valkyrie from different angles. He grinned under his mask as she came at him with an astounding speed. He opened a portal directly in front of himself and stepped through, going from one side if the roof to the other, closing it immediately behind him.
"For you to shut up if you're going to be rude," he joked. Killer intent seemed to radiating off the woman, but it wasn't the first time he had experienced that, and this time he wasn't waking up. He was prepared to go a few rounds, and was more than happy to. She was fast, easily faster than he was without his portals, but that made for better practice for the future. If anyone would be able to keep up with his portals, he needed to be prepared, and there was no better way to learn than sink or swim in certain situations.

"Good. Then I can break a few of your bones for being rude, too," she snapped, pivoting on her heel once again as his portaling happened and he spoke. Typical. Of course he would flee before taunting her. She could probably break him quite easily. She watched him for a moment, wondering if he had anything else worth noting other than being an obnoxious prick.
"So is it your usual MO to kidnap young women, or am I just lucky?"

"Gotta say, you're the first," Geata responded. She had stopped for a second, probably waiting for him to make his move. Too bad he wouldn't. His powers excelled at making other attacks null and void, he wasn't about to waste his time and possible advantage to press his luck. Besides, his new training regimen was making him stronger, but nowhere near as strong as she had already shown herself to be.
He didn't move a muscle, waiting for her next attack. If he had to guess, she would try a new verse of the same song, fling some projectiles and come after him from a different direction. Still, he was aware that he probably didn't know the woman's every trick. It wouldn't do any good to get cocky and get himself killed.

"Wonderful," she muttered at his banter. A smart guy who thought he was witty and stupid. She waits for him to make his move, but he doesn't do anything other than talk to her. What was with people in this city and the talking? She enjoyed a chat, sure, but a fight - or whatever this was - required more than words. Then again, there really wasn't much stopping her from just jumping the roof.
"Congratulations, you suck at it. Don't quite your day job."

Geata sighed when he realized what was going on. It didn't seem either one was going to be making the first move. It wasn't ideal, but he dashed forward and entered a portal that appeared suddenly. He emerged at an angle above and behind her, diving towards her feet first.
He needed to learn how to go on the offensive with his abilities anyway.

The rhythm of battle had begun, one Valkyrie knew and understood. Unlike the sparrow, this one didn't wait forever or use words until one she took the first move. No, this one acted with intent, reckless but recognizable. Good. She could work with that. She tracked his movements as he hopped through another portal, unable to detect where it was until it happened. But she was learning the signs, and that would be worthwhile.
As such, he was able to get a hit in, his feet slamming into her shoulders as she turned. Valkyrie took the hit, latching on to him and taking her with him as she stumbled back and using momentum to throw him on the ground. Still holding on, she slammed a fist into his face, waiting to see what he'd do. Even if it failed, she would still have a hold on him. Let him try to run.

Geata was surprised when he actually landed his hit. He even started to grin a little when he realized what was going on. Next thing he knew he was down on the ground with a fist approaching his face at threatening speeds. A portal opened in between the fist and his face, which, if the punch were to be followed through with, would cause the woman in red to punch herself square in the face. Immediately after, the ground beneath them would open up, leading a few hundred feet in the air.

Much as she thought, the portals came into play again, evoking a sneer of distaste from Valkyrie as her hand stopped just before entering the portal. She had no interest in learning what he would do to her; for all she knew, he'd cut off her hand by closing the portal around it. Instead, she would slam her knee into his groin, but if the portal opened up before that could happen, she was fine with that, too. After all, she had yet to let go of her opponent. That much, st least, she had figured out. Using direct force wouldn't work with this one unless he was unaware.
When the ground opened up beneath them, leaving them mid-air, her eyes went wide and her grip tightened on the one thing that was solid between her and the ground - which was, of course, the masked man. She offered him a cocky smile.
"Thanks for breaking my fall. You skills are quite useful, after all."

Geata grinned as the woman kept herself from following through with the punch and tried to instead go for a different attack. It was still a bit shocking exactly what she tried to do, but all is fair, he supposed. If she knew enough to keep from going through with the punch, she probably wasn't expecting that to work either, though.
Seeing her eyes go wide was a good sign, so far as he was concerned. "This is actually pretty fun," he said as they plummeted. He winked before starting to contort his body, catching the rushing wind at certain angles in order to try and maneuver to where he would land on her. Whatever happened, though, he wasn't about to let his fun end just yet.

As much as she would prefer actual combat - a fact that continued to contort her expression into one of frustration and annoyance - Valkyrie was aware that her normal tactics weren't going to work. Go figure that another super would be more interested in running away than finishing what they started. Ugh.
However, she was not without her wits, and for a moment, Geata would seem to be able to control the angle of their descent. Right up until the smug look returned and Valkyrie pulled him closer, shifting her body to the same angle to roll both of them in the air so that he was beneath her again. If he didn't have a portal ready, he would also feel the sharp sting of metal press against his abdomen through the fabric of his clothes.
"You're not very good at this." She figured she would need him alive, probably conscious, to ensure that they didn't end up being pancakes on the pavement. She would push tho the very end to call his bluff, however, especially since there would soon be people around to notice two humans falling from the sky if they looked up.
