This man was very stubborn, butting looking back on it, most men were most of the time. Whenever one met a man that was not stubborn , he was a soft man that carried more for books than for a good fight. And clearly Kaz was the kind of man that favored the fight.
“ I know a place that's close to here. A friend of mine owes me a favor.” Misty crossed her arms. “They could keep you riding low until the police get over the phone call. They have a network of entrances and exits. Go in and out as much as you please and never use the same entrance twice. And this friend of mines a good house keep. He don’t care what you do as long as he gets paid and you don’t shot the place to hell. The first week or so would be on me.”

This conversation really wasn't going anywhere, was it? Just vague, cryptic sentences that only told the bare minimum of things. It was natural to keep it that way, since strangers tended to be dangerous people, especially in a place like this. Even the women, especially the ones that hid their faces, were dangerous. It was a bit hard to get used to. Back in Japan, crime was a man's business. Sure, there were some little girls that thought they were tough, trying to play gangster with their makeup and school uniforms, but being with the real real criminals was something else entirely. Not anyone could join the Yakuza, only the hardest of Japan's criminals could join, which was why Kaz fit in like glove. Unfortunately, good things never lasted forever...
But enough reminiscing about the past, he needed to keep his mind on the present. The potentially dangerous present. Or not so dangerous, since Misty was now offering a place to stay. Kaz (begrudgingly) appreciated the gesture, but he already had a place to stay. Multiple in fact. So he answered the best way he could; gruffly, "No need. I have a place"

Misty sighed. This was going to be a long night. In the distance her sensitive ears picked up the sound of several cars coming to a stop in the same area.
“The police just found your playground. I knew a man of your profession would have safe houses. If there's one you don’t mind giving up, then we should get out of here.”

While it was hard to tell, this woman's insistence on following him around was due to either genuine kindness or because she was planning something nefarious. With most people, Kaz was inclined to go for the latter, but Misty's continued efforts to be as affable as she possibly could somehow bypassed his normally impervious emotional defenses. She had not only diverted the police, but also offered Kaz, a violent criminal, sanctuary for the time being, with no apparent cost. A less cynical man would have assumed it was out of the goodness of her heart. Still, he felt more convinced to trust her. If not a friend, she would be a useful ally. Unfortunately for her, bringing her to the safehouse was not an option. Toko wouldn't like it. Not one bit.
"Sorry, you can't come. Other guy won't like it"

Misty rolled her eyes. Not that he could see. She tuned her ears again, learning that the police were, at the moment more concerned for the injured parties that they had just left than chasing after the one who had dealt the damage. Good, that gave this conversation a few more minutes, at least in this spot.
“Other guy? You have a partner…..” Misty placed her hands on her hips. “No, you have a boss, if you think like that.”
It would be little use trying to talk this man out of going on to his hiding place without her. Though…..
“Well then, I won’t follow you. Though, if it's not too much trouble…...why don’t we meet again. Perhaps on purpose this time.” Misty hoped that he didn’t sound too forward. “I’ll make sure it isn’t a waste of your time.”

Misty didn't seem too pleased with his explanation for why she couldn't come to his hideout. Why she even wanted to go to his hideout with him was beyond Kaz. It wasn't something normal people considered. Going to a man's home after watching him beat people half was hardly what a sane person would do, even someone like Kaz knew that. But it seemed that everybody in this city was just a little bit insane, which was just the way Kaz liked it. After years of the Yakuza stifling him, he could cut lose and be free to do whatever he liked. He was his own boss. Well, not exactly.
As Misty pointed out, Toko was just practically another boss. But Kaz would never admit that to anyone. The fact that she called Toko his boss, indirectly at that, made Kaz livid. It almost made him want to refuse her offer for a second meeting. Almost.
"You have a plan?"

Her hands disappeared into her cloak, and then returned to sight holding a small stiff looking tea of paper. She held it out to him with a relaxed looking arm.
“Lucky for you I had one on me.” She told him.
Misty thought a bit, then allowed the card to flutter to the ground.
“I hope I’ll see you soon.” She said over her shoulder as she turned and faded into the night.
If Kaz where to pick up and read the little card, he would find it a business card to a little tea shop near the market.
