Escanor allowed himself a moment to appreciate that laugh, he knew he couldn't be the cause of it even with his fantastic humor but that did not matter as long as he got hear it. Hm it appeared even with that reasonable hour delay, the day would not be long, she was right it was a leisure day.
"Then would it be correct for me to assume that you have yet to have lunch at this time due to the rush caused by that sow, and fitting that I ask you to accompany me so we are both at peak condition when we return?"
It was a simple and obvious request, as he knew his assistant would sometimes forgo to keep the salon running which was annoying considering he could tell how many other employees took every break they could even though they did not deserve it. He sighed as he felt frustration built up and settled for glancing at the object of her careful consideration. Ah yes it would be wonderful to show the commoners, of a cafe perhaps, the beauty that was his skills and her appearance. Yes this would have to occur immediately there was no longer a question or doubt in his mind about it. He headed to the door before taking a breath as he called.
"Alan you are to watch the desk in spite of your new 1 and 4 appointments, if you mess up the orders or Lillith's organization then you shall follow that cow out my workshop."
With a charming smile meant specifically for his assistant, with the unintended effect of calming his customers, he opened the door.

Lillith knew he wanted to know the reason for her chuckles. She'd tell him something... Eventually. When he dropped his request on her, she blinked. That was unexpected. It would also make her coworkers believe in Connie's accusations. And he wasn't taking no for an answer, if his orders were any indication. God this man just loved making life harder for her. Alan, or Adam in actuality, jumped at the sound of his "name". There was no correcting Escanor, he just simply wouldn't hear of it. Without a word the man nodded and slipped behind the desk as Lillith grabbed her purse and walked out the door.
"You just love watching them squirm," she mused, "Though I'm surprised you chose to invite me to lunch. Are all of your normal girls unavailable today?"
The short stuff wasn't trying to be mean. She just knew Escanor had a standard. And the way Lillith acted outside of work, temper and all, weren't likely to meet it. After a few more moments she spoke again.
"Where to, Adonis-wannabe?"

"Can I be blamed? It's the only pleasure those mongrels bring me"
Escanor easily admitted with a shrug and shake of his head before walking beside her, each step careful and considerate of her shorter stature so their pace kept them side by side. He let out a sigh out a sigh at her normal girls comment. Those were merely distractions or breaks, not even worth the second hand glances he spared them. But some days after particular nightly 'excursions' he needed them when he knew he had zero chance of bringing the one beside him with him.
"Unfortunately no, I cannot lower my standard to normal girls for today, I require something bit more special and unique to help my temper from the troubling events of today."
As usual his comment for her was flashed with a bright smile, he knew she would scoff but the compliment was worth a shot. Oh well, ah appears he had a new nickname. At this he let out a loud and genuine chuckle.
"Please my dear Lillith, Adonis wishes he could be my wannabe to be unable to simply choose between the two and also to fall to a boar are traits not befitting myself. But to answer your question there is a small cafe that I know would be perfect to help us both relax from this tiring day, I normally would go to an old friend's restaurant at this time but unfortunately this is when he would be busiest and I do not think even I could handle such massive amounts of people due to this day."
Dealing with that amount of attention from what might as well have been worms was not worth going to Jame's work place, no matter how good the food he served there.

Lillith scoffed at his comment. Compliment. Whatever it was. It's not like he seriously considered her a step above those prisses. No, he was just trying to boost her ego and make her swoon. He had done it to a million girls. She was not going to be a million and one. Still... Her eyes quickly glanced at their feet, watching as he was trying to match her strides so he wouldn't leave her behind. Her eyes immediately flicked to the road in front of them, her cheeks tinging slightly. He just didn't want to go through the hassle of finding her if she was lost in the crowd. That's the only reason he was being considerate.
"Unique huh. The only thing that makes me unique is that I am the size and shape of a twelve year old. With the temper of an old drunk."
At Escanor's next words she had to bite her lips to hold in her laughter. Perhaps she should have compared him to Narcissus. He certainly has the ego. His mention of a small cafe with a limited amount of people, she let a contented sigh leave her lips.
"That actually sounds wonderful. Today has been quite the event, hasn't it? Hopefully the rest goes a little smoother."

Now that actually made him pause, ignoring a compliment he could and would handle, but out right rejecting this one was something he would not stand for. He was careful when he placed a hand on her shoulder to both stop and turn her so her face with a pair of lips being displayed by biting- down focus compliment. Taking a breath to clear his head, he focused his gaze on her own.
"My dear Lillith, diamond in the rough should not be applied freely but you are most certainly one. In a desert of liars and mongrels and cows, you stand alone shining more beautiful than any star could dream. So don't ever question your uniqueness, I'm a Mustang, and we are fantastic at judging people's worth and you are most certainly worthy of every compliment."
This time he only gave a small smile and brief before returning to their walk, hand on her shoulder still, to make sure she followed closely beside.
"Also I'm glad we are agreement about that at least, and trust me with the pair of us in charge it shall go smoother than the finest marble statue."
He removed his hand from her only so he could move to the cafe door and open it with a slight bow.

The weight of his hand upon her caught her of guard, not to mention a little off balance. She managed to steady herself before tripping as she turned around. Doesn’t that big galloomfus know his own strength? She didn’t think he did. She stood there listening to him talk about ‘diamonds in the rough’ and how she shouldn’t question her uniqueness with a mixed look of disbelief and surprise. His little speech made her speechless as she continued to follow him to their destination. A small smile appeared on her face when he opened the door. He may be the king of arrogance but at least he was charming. The pair walked into the café and were seated in the corner by a window. Lillith had to admit, Escanor had chosen a nice place. It wasn’t too crowded and had a serene atmosphere. A much needed reprieve from the charged air at the salon.
A waiter came by and took their drink orders before heading back to the kitchen. Across the room, two sets of eyes were watching them. The two women had seen Escanor walk in and were unable to keep their eyes off him. A moment of chitter passed between them before the taller one, a lovely redhead, walked over to their table. Lillith saw her long before she made it to the table and sighed. One nice meal out with her boss without someone trying to hit on him would be nice. The redhead tapped the blond man’s shoulder and smiled.
“Hi, my name’s Alivia and my friend and I were wondering if you would like to join us for drinks later. You know, after your little girl is in bed.” She said sweetly.
“Excuse me?” LIllith asked, indignation clear in her voice.
“Hush sweetie, adults are talking.” The redhead quipped, patting her head.
“Get your filthy hands off me you airheaded bimbo! Who do you think you are?!” The green eyed girl snapped as she smacked away the woman’s hand.

It was a nice place he had discovered when in search of somewhere to go instead of James'...unfortunately he was unable to reserve a private booth here and therefore had to still deal with vultures. He had to let out a sigh, holding in his rage was not going to be easy after that Catherine incident today, but hopefully it would not be to-... His thought process actually stopped at hearing the insults directed at his assistant and was more than thankful his hand was gripping the chair to hide the finger imprints being dug into it until he heard a smack and a loud voice. There she was shining gloriously and allowing himself to breath comfortably and focus entirely on her.
"I believe her delusions have made herself think to be someone like you, dear, someone worthy of both my time and ado-attention."
He didn't even spare the red head, who was obviously dying her hair and doing a poor job if he said so himself, and took a sip of one of their drinks that just arrived.
"Now Alex or whatever your name, leave us alone, we've had a long day and deserve some time to appreciate eachother's company and beauty without some wench fouling up the area."
He was not going to mention that as he frequented this establishment, he was known for quite the tips and his word was gonna be worth a few hundred bucks more than theirs. He didn't glance as he heard her stomp or slither away, he couldn't care enough to give that thought a specific description and instead bowed his head slightly to the one in front of him.
"I apologize for that, my magnificence should not cause you such strife but I must admit your fury is simply a thing of beauty."
He smiled, a small charming smile while sipping his coffee.
"Please order whatever you like as compensation, my treat."

Aliva looked completely flabbergasted at Escanor's reaction. Tears welled up in the woman's overly made up eyes as she dramatically turned and walked back to her friend, who was now glaring at the pair like they were devils. Still brooding over the words the night walker had spoken, Lillith pulled her shake in front of herself and sulkily took a drink. She paused and realized how she must look right now. Exactly like a petulant child. Great.
Her head lifted at Escanor's apology/compliment. Was there nothing this man wouldn't compliment? No wonder all these hoochies were crawling all over him. Still... A small smirk bloomed onto her face at his offer. If she was greedy he would be loosing a good chunk of his pocket book today.
"I can pay for myself Escanor. It's not your fault that some women flock to you like flies to shit."
Her eyes scanned the menu as she thought through her choices. She settled on a Monte Cristo with fries. Maybe a little breakfest-y but it sounded good. She placed her menu at edge of the table and let out a slow breath.
"So, any luck getting a girlfriend pretty boy? I know it's hard to choose from the hordes that fling themselves your way but there's gotta be someone."
It was a strange topic for an employee and her boss but they were friends. Kinda. Besides she had no idea what to talk about.

Escanor visibly lit up soon as he saw that small smirk pop onto her lips, a beautiful person such as herself did not deserve having doubts about herself. He even had a chuckle at her quip, few would've dared such a line to a man such as himself and he loved it.
"My dear it is still inconvenience to you so I must apology."
He bowed his head slightly, while thinking up another way to repay her...perhaps a bonus on the next paycheck yes that would be fitting. Allowing himself a perfect smile for thinking up such an answer, he placed his order for the same so he could consider her question. He wasn't able to help the slight thousand yard stare he had as he thought about his answer. He could see her now in his mind and shook his head.
"No unfortunately I have been very careful with my choice, but I know I've found someone perfect for the role. Beautiful, passionate, strong, and witty. Whether she notices my perfect self though, is the real question."
Letting out a quiet sigh, his smile turned to a smirk as he shot the question back, though there was an odd tone to it, hopeful or desperation was slipped into his usual arrogance.
"How of your love life? Has someone managed to catch your bright eye?"

Lillith waved away his insistence that he must apologize. It's not like he had forced the women over here, he wasn't Lust. The thought made her pause. Escanor as Lust might actually be worse than the Lust the city already has. It made her chuckle slightly. The waiter came and she politely gave her order after Escanor did. As the waiter walked off, she noticed her companion's distant stare. Was her question that perturbing? Should she have asked something else? She made move to open her mouth when he answered.
And answer he did. From the way he spoke about this woman she was one of two things: Lust or a goddamn angel that fell from heaven. The napkin was twisted in her hands as she listened. Honestly she was surprised that she hadn't lit the whole café on fire. Why the hell had she asked him when the answer had a high chance of pissing her off? How stupid is she? Her question being tossed back in her face threw her off guard. She blinked, trying to figure out how to answer. The green eyes girl bit her bottom lip as she pondered.
"There is someone That has caught my eye. I just haven't gotten the courage to speak with them. Though," she paused with a sigh, "I'm not exactly his type. He prefers tall, buxom, prissy models. And I'm just kinda... Well childlike."

Escanor had felt some slight nerves when he gave his answer and they only multiplied when she prepared to give hers. What kind of man was able to attract her, he really needed to know...for curiousity reasons of course, nothing else at all. He clenched his fist ever tighter at her response, of course it was someone different. Some arrogant moron who could not comprehend true beauty if it had slapped him. He sighed before smiling gently at her.
"Lillith my dear, the man you speak of sounds a bit of prideful moron for not having noticed your attraction to him, but if you truly do like him then I'm sure his 'type' will quickly change as soon as you tell him what he has."
The lucky bastard should realize what he had, instead of going for what were essentially nightwalkers. He shook his head in an attempt to calm himself and speak of the latter portion to her answer.
"Also I still do not understand why you keep saying childlike, I have said multiple times that you are beautiful and that should throw all doubt you have about that away, who better knows beauty than I?"

"Yeah, he is rather prideful bastard. Though I'm not sure about the moron part."
The irony of Escanor's words was not lost on Lillith. Oh if only he knew exactly who he was speaking of. His reaction would be absolutely priceless. She was sure he would eat his words, right before finding some excuse to leave. Exactly the reason why she refused to say anything. The petite woman took another drink as her employer continued to speak. He really didn't understand her predicament. Then again why would he? He actually looked like an adult and didn't constantly get talked down to because of his apparent age. She let out a sigh as their food arrived.
"Well when one is as petite and brick shaped as I am you get treated like a child. I actually can't tell you how many boyfriends have dumped me because my looks make them feel like a pedophile."
Reaching for a packet of strawberry jelly she spread it on the top of her sandwich before taking a bite. The melding of the french toast, cheeses and the ham was amazing. James may have some competition as her favorite place to eat. She was quiet as she thought about what to say next. Her eyes traveled to Escanor and the faintest smile replaced the frown her lips had set into.
"You know that's one think I admire about you. You are always so confident in everything. It's amazing."
Some would say her boss was overconfident but still. It was a trait that was worthy of admiration. Only time would tell if the peacocking the man in front of her was worth letting that compliment spill from her lips.

Escanor knew it, and he also knew quite well how deadly that particular sin could be. Especially when paired with it's more aggressive and passionate sin, which made him withhold a laugh in fear of him having to explain the thought and possibly incurring his current dinner mate's fury. That simply wouldn't do as a Mustang, especially with how much he wanted to stay in this one's company. He ate a bit of his sandwich, it was simple but high quality, James may have some competition. It was a wonder if he would deal with them by upping his own quality or the usual way...oh well guess he would have to see either at his friend's menu or on the news, one of the two. Those curious concerns were dashed though when he heard why she had been dumped.
"Though this current crush may not be stupid, as I trust your judgement, your previous dates are idiotic but lucky I cannot find them. Beauty is such a hard concept for the public plebians to grasp...I shall have to rectify that situation, to think some would consider that thought, if that concerned them so much they should not have dated you in the first place and wasted a worthy person's valuable time."
Escanor was seething but relaxed when he saw the smile, it was impossible for even him to stay mad when he saw her actually gave such a small but genuine smile. Another moment to treasure and another reason to make those miserable mooks who wasted her time and challenge her worth, feel his Wrath. He took another bite of his sandwich before placing it down, his mind in a bit of a thought at her compliment.
"A Mustang must know his own value as well the value of everything around them. My grandfather said that and it's my motto now, I know my value as the most valuable part of the beautician business and also that I will soon sweep this world by storm, but to not know the value of those around you is a mistake. Why do you think your my most valuable s-f-Employee."
His little spiel was honest and smooth except for the end where he took a not so subtle drink to calm his slight nerves.

Lillith chuckled at his assertion that her previous love interests were idiots. That was putting it mildly. Why even go on a single date with her if you are going to dump her for how she looks. 'I mean it's the first bloody thing you notice about me. If you didn't like that then you wouldn't have gone out with me in the first place.' she mused bitterly.
Escanor's long winded spiel about his knowledge of beauty was a little much. However his point was not lost on her. Nor was his stutter. One of her delicate eyebrows raised at this. Why did he trip over his words, it was so unlike him. She stared quizzically at him as he quickly took a drink. He was acting very strange. However instead she silently brought her own drink to her mouth and took a sip. 'You shouldn't ask questions with answers you aren't prepared to hear.' Even with those words buzzing through her mind, she opened her mouth anyway.
"Escanor are you ok? You're acting weird? I mean you're weird enough as is but stuttering is not your kind of normal. What's up?"

Escanor stared at her for a moment, he wasn't about to let nervousness show but the concern coming from her was genuinely touching. He let out a held breath and settled for a chuckle at her comment, in an attempt to cover up his nervousness. Once again no one called him weird and got away with it except for her.
"Yes yes I am fine Lillith, apologies if you were worried, I was merely bout to say you were a most valued friend but did not know whether or not the implications of friendships would worry you or perhaps make you think you did not have a chance of wooing me"
He was walking a personal and dangerously thin line with the white lie, he had ignored the s sound and lied about what the 'f' was originally, but hoped she wouldn't question it. He gave a bit of a charming smile to her, hoping it would relax her, though he loved that she did, she should never have to honestly worry about him.
"Though I guess someone great as I, calling you a most valued friend should come as a great honor, I know I should honestly receive the same honor from you correct?"
