"We need at least one Keeper in order for this to be a true alliance between faction members." This was the task Geata was given by Blue Jay. He supposed it was for the good of the new group or whatever, but it really wasn't about that. All that mattered to the skull masked super was that the guy who was nice enough to provide room and board needed something done, and Geata was capable of doing it. That was why he was going rooftop to rooftop on Malachite Isle, home of the Keepers. It would've went easier if he knew where their base of operations were exactly, but he wasn't even going to bother trying to find out. His only real lead there was Azoth, and he really didn't want to know what all favors it would take for him to get that information. All he knew was that he needed a Keeper. Unfortunately, he wasn't on the best of terms with the majority of the Keepers that he knew. And he doubted Azoth would be very interested. Which meant he either needed to be very persuasive, or he needed to get his hands on a completely new Keeper that he had not yet met. With his own personal knowledge of himself, he knew his best bet was to not depend on his social skills. doubledealer |

The pair that formed Double Dealer, quite frankly, were bored out of their minds. They had literally no more info to get 'cause the other Keepers were all somewhere else, they lost their phones in the dragon attack and they just weren't in the mood to mess with some civilians. Right now, they just sat on a bench, propping their heads up with their hands.
'Ugh...! Why the hell is everything so boring!? I'm just going to stand up and do... I don't know, I can't just instantly think like that!'
'What about a dance?'
'We just danced! God, we got to find, like, a party or something, I mean, parties are super fun! Or like, a- what's going on up there?'
The woman pointed up towards the roofs, spotting someone they've never seen before, at least, they didn't remember seeing. And he was being a daredevil as far as they were concerned. Jumping across the roofs? Now that was fun, why didn't they try that!? The pair both waved at the person on the roofs, "Hey, is jumping across roofs fun 'cause we want to join if it is!"

When Geata set out to find a Keeper, he wasn't expecting to be the one found. Hearing a voice calling out, he stopped and looked down at the couple. They wanted to know if he was having fun? "I... I guess?" He was somewhat thrown by the question. He hadn't even thought about whether or not it was fun, he was so focused on the task at hand. And besides, he wasn't used to normal people just randomly talking to him. Which meant either they didn't realize he was a super, or he just lucked out in a major way and found a couple of Keepers.
Not willing to just ask outright and turn out to be wrong, Geata quickly tried to think of some way to see if they were supers. Unfortunately, he drew a massive blank on that subject. He supposed that meant the best thing to do would be to wait and see what developed, but that was a pain for its own reasons.
As far as he was concerned, supers just needed to come up with a set of code words.

"Then were coming up and you'll show your parkor stuff you do or whatever!"
"Just wait up for us, we mean it!"
The duo rushed inside the building and climbed up the stairs arriving quickly on the roof, winded, but no less ready for some fun. The man and woman both leaned over the edge, smiling widely.
'God! We could, like, break a leg if we missed a jump or something!'
'No way! You'd snap your neck, easy!'
They both turned back to the person, bouncing on their heels and toes, "Ok, hurry up and show us or we're just going to jump to that roof over there right now!"

Geata was suddenly very confused about the entire situation. He was now for all intents and purposes a performer for these two, as far as he could tell. Which, luckily for the two, he could actually pull off. Taking a moment to ready himself, he took off, jumping from the edge of a roof. He did a double front flip, for style points, but his landing was shaky. Not his best work, but he wasn't entirely used to doing stuff like that without his portals. If it weren't for his new workout buddy and his own boredom, he probably couldn't have done it at all.
He turned to the two on the other rooftop behind him. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. "You two do realize that I'm a super, right?" He punctuated his question by tapping on his mask. He also wanted to ask why he just did what he did, but he was good with one question at a time for now and it was more a question for himself, really.

The pair forming Double Dealer whooped and clapped as the new guy actually did what they wanted. Most people just seemed annoyed by them, you know, until they just make them.
'Ok, so I'm, like, wearing six-inch heels right now and it'll seriously make me cry if they break so....'
'Don't worry, I'll jump first then catch you, like an actual gentleman!'
'You are a great gentleman! Oh, wait, be careful with your tuxedo, it's super white and we don't want to mess it up!'
The man backed up, taking a running start before taking his jump across the roofs. He stumbled forward pretty badly but caught himself and turned, waving at his partner. His partner leapt forward, probably not far enough as the man visibly leaned over the edge of the roof to catch her but that was much more fun than doing the jump properly so who cares? They turned to the other guy, grinning, "Now aren't we awesome or what?" Seriously, his jump may have been cool but so was theirs!
At the mention that the other guy is a super the pair leaned forward, trying to recognize anything about this guy. "We may have been told about a super like you but we're not sure..."
"Can you prove it or something?"
"Yeah! Prove it! Prove it!"

With eyebrows raised, Geata opened a portal to his side before reaching through and lightly poking the man in the forehead. Pulling his arm back, he closed the portal before speaking again. "It's a bit low-key, but is that proof enough for you?"
He was starting to get to the point where he was wondering if he should just go, but at the same time he was curious to see where the exchange would lead. Besides, he still didn't know if the two in front of him were supers, let alone if they were Keepers. It was in his best interests to let the conversation play out, he decided.

"Hey!" The pair forming Double Dealer both exclaimed, at first angry over being used to show off powers, then realized what just happened.
"Whoa! You just opened a portal, like from that game called... you know, uh, what's that game called again?"
"No idea but who cares, that was actually pretty cool for once!"
'So can we do better than just one portal?'
'Oh yeah, obviously. So do you want to show off our mind thing or our fusing thing?'
'Probably our fusing thing, people always say we're lying if tell them we're basically inside each other's heads!'
'Why do people even say that? We don't lie that often, and we aren't lying about our mind thing!'
The duo stood themselves up taller, wearing identical overconfident smiles on their faces.
"It's cool, but we got something way better!"
"We can turn into one person who's, like, a super strong perfect person! I mean, we are awesome in that look!
"You want to see? I bet you do!"
"Seriously just say you do, we haven't fused in a while!"

Geata was utterly stumped. He understood that the two were supers, that was pretty straightforward. But the two of them combining to make a super? That was new, admittedly. Of course, if they were telling the truth, then that would make for one interesting experience, not to mention a unique addition to the team, should they fit the bill.
"Sounds pretty cool, yeah," he said. "And it kinda works out, since I came out here tonight looking for other supers. You guys wouldn't happen to be Keepers, by any chance, would you?" If they were, he was pretty sure he knew how to convince them to join up.

"Oh please! Our powers are way better than just pretty cool!" Despite what they said, the duo seemed very proud that someone just complimented their powers, who wouldn't? At the question about being Keepers, the pair actually were quite surprised.
'How the freak did he know we're Keepers, we're literally nothing like the rest!'
'Well, we are kind of on Malachite Isle where a bunch of Keepers stay, but other than that, nothing like the rest!'
"Ok yeah, we're Keepers, but actually fun, alright?"
"A lot of them are way too serious, seriously! Like, oh my God there is an actual robot there and some are just like it, they're all no fun!"
"Wait, why'd you ask us this anyway?"

Geata nodded along. "Yeah," he said jokingly, "the other Keepers do seem a bit stiff. At least you know how to have fun." He looked over the combined super again. It was an interesting power, that was for sure, and it begged a few questions about the nature of superpowers in general. If two people had the powers to combine to make a super being, how many "normal" people had a similar power but never saw their abilities awaken? Certainly a topic of interest, but Geata managed to put that aside for the moment.
"Well," he started, a confident gleam in his eyes, "there's a new group forming. Not as big as the factions, but more of an inter faction alliance. I won't bore you with the specifics, but in short it's a combined effort to prepare for dragons. We need a Keeper or two in order to stress the whole "alliance" thing, and you seem like the sort who'd be willing to join. After all, it should be fun." He waited to see how they would respond before saying anything else. He was pretty sure that he could get the two of them if he could work the "new and fun angle" just right.

'Sure, but you really think we can trust these guys, we don't trust the Keepers!'
'God no! Just 'cause we're friends doesn't mean we trust anyone but us! You know, obviously.
Double Dealer have split back to the duo form, both shaking one of the man's hands, probably for the heck of it. "Ok, we're now the sort of Keepers who did join! This is going to be, like, the best fun we had in months or something!"
"Nobody's going to try to mess with us 'cause we're supposed to be with the Keepers? Seriously everybody better be fun!"

Geata shook the pair's hands happily, surprised at how easy it had been to get an agreement. He had been expecting... something, but it wasn't as though he was going to complain. He was more than happy that he had succeeded in getting a Keeper, let alone a Keeper so willing to work with the group.
"There shouldn't be issues with faction," he said thoughtfully after letting go of their hands, "so I wouldn't worry too much. Besides, if anyone did, I imagine you won't be the only ones to say something about it." He grinned at the other question, although his mask hid it. "I haven't met everyone involved just yet, I don't think, but the people who I have met make for a very interesting group. Like I said, it should be fun."

"Can we see our new group soon? Wait, where's our base? Is it basically a secret base?"
"Ooh, that'd be so cool!"
The duo both looked around, obviously thinking the "secret base" must be near them due to the fact they were recruited right in this area.
"We don't have to stay in the base all the time right?"
"Yeah, we like going out a lot and we already got an apartment, you know?"
'Hopefully the base is as cool as the Keepers base, if they got anything right, it's that awesome base!'
'Probably not, I mean, aren't the Keepers supposed to be rich or something? This guy doesn't look rich at all!'
'Alright, you're right about that!'

Geata thought for a moment. "Technically we have a base, and I suppose it's secret," he said thoughtfully, "but at the same time I don't really know if it actually qualifies. I'm pretty sure it's just a basement in the suburbs, with nothing special yet, but I don't know. I'm thinking we might plan to expand once we get the money for it, but I dunno until then." He suddenly pulled out his phone. "You guys have a phone, yeah? I could text you the address, we could check out the place before it's full of everyone."
"As for when the group meets, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be really soon, the 'leadership'," he said, punctuating with air quotation marks, "sounded like they want to get the ball rolling fast."
