Blue Jay’s eyebrow twitched at Giza’s yelling. Unnecessary, that’s what it was. “You want it?” The irritation in his voice was obvious and he returned Giza’s gaze in full with a glare. “Here. Take it.” He lightly threw and caught the sword to get a softer grip on the hilt, then chucked it, spinning, at Giza. He threw it a little harder than he probably should’ve, as his shoulder made sure to let him know, but he wanted to vent his frustration somehow. Plus it wasn’t like he was especially strong or anything anymore.
Blue Jay mumbled a thanks to Aurora and muttered a complaint about being indignantly described as “limp and useless” when he was knocked out. At least he wasn’t going to have to walk home bleeding, he figured. Try explaining that one to the bus driver or the emergency room. With the bandages in Aurora’s auroraed box, he began dressing his wounds, beginning with those that seemed most determined to drain his body of its liquids (dumping out a good bit of sea water from his pierced shoe, as that was the worst of the bunch). He was perfectly content to let Giza and Aurora sort this out among themselves and to have no more to do with either of them on this fine afternoon, but he couldn't help but speak up at something Aurora said.
“He’s not entirely lying.” He piped up, though he was still more invested in dressing his foot than the conversation. “We did fight in downtown earlier, and he did tell me to stay away from you, I guess? But I still think that reason is BS.” He finished and tried to meet eyes with Giza. Much of the chill he was feeling towards the super remained in his look. “But I this is the first time I’ve seen Aurora since our battle downtown. Look, I’ve got nothing against you, Giza. Prior to today.” He admitted. “We’ve hardly run into each other. So why do you seem to hate me so much?”

Giza doesn’t know which one upset him more: the fact that Miss Aurora is treating this chump like a friend to her, or the fact that the two of them had cross-path multiple times. He wanted to snatch that first-aid kit out of Blue Jay’s reach just to teach him a lesson, but he doesn’t want to upset Miss Aurora even more than she is now. The fact that he’s being scolded by Miss Aurora right now is just humiliating, especially when Blue Jay is near.
As soon as Blue Jay threw his sword at him, probably in frustration, Giza ducked just in the nick of time for the blade side swing by harmlessly before it fall into the water behind him. From what he can tell so far, he knew Blue Jay can’t teleport himself if the sword isn’t on his hand. So either he’s an idiot or he’s using this as a distraction. Giza has seen how the sword can magically appear right at Blue Jay’s hand, so he need to keep a close eye on them in case his power return and start to retaliate. It is also rather insulting that he actually speak in his defense when Miss Aurora accuse him of lying to her. He then turned toward Miss Aurora, who looked really upset with her arm fold:
“A-As much as I hate to agree with him, he’s right: I-I wasn’t lying to you, a-and I know you can handle your own problem. I-It’s just…I...”
Giza felt nervous about saying it out-loud; he just fidgeting with his hand while thinking of a way to deliver his reason. He could feel the pressure built up in his stomach, making him all squeezy about the situation at hand.
“I-I just don’t want you to hang around with him.” He blurred it out, “Miss Aurora, w-why do you always hang around with this…this Bulwark idiot? What does he have that demand all your attention to him? I don’t understand why you’re treating him like a childhood friend. I want to know why you are so concern about his safety even though he had been such a nuisance to everyone. Why are you focusing so much effort on siding with him? A-And the reason I didn’t drag this limping piece of shit out of the dock was because I can’t lift him up. I was worry if I dragged him out in the open, people will see, and there’s a chance he might wake up and attack me. So I thought disarming him would help me move him out easier without worrying about him attacking me with that sword of his.”
He then turned toward Blue Jay with anger in his eyes:
“The reason why I hate you is because you have been hogging Miss Aurora’s attention all this time. What make you so special that you deserve such special treatment? You’re just an idiot who do more harm than good to anyone around you! So now that you finished patch yourself up, get lost!”

The moment Blue Jay raised his sword, the tendril of aurora snapped upward, and as the weapon left his hands, a smaller block of concrete fell from the aurora and landed with a loud thud not too far away from Blue Jay. Aurora narrowed her eyes and stared at him for a moment to make her displeasure clear. Her voice wasn't any louder than before, and was more firm than anything else.
"Cease and desist."
Then, her attention turned back to Giza. He misunderstood what she was insinuating by saying that he was lying, but he ended up explaining what was actually going on anyway. There was no need to clarify what she meant because of that. The more he talked, the more her expression flattened. Was this seriously what caused a fight like this to break out? She could at least understand trying to chase someone from their territory, even if it was completely unnecessary in this case, but this was just ridiculous. For a moment, all she could do was stare in disbelief, not sure if this was really happening or not.
"I don't. He doesn't. I don't. We barely interact at all, and when we do it's normally because I'm beating the snot out of him for getting in my way," Aurora raised an eyebrow. "What are you even talking about? The only reason I've ever helped him at all is because all supers' safety is my concern. I'm not going to let anything happen to any of us. You know what I want to do, you should understand this already."
Once again, she could only stare at his explanation for why he didn't just take him away from the docks. She closed her eyes for a moment and her lips formed a thin line.
"So you dragged him somewhere because you couldn't drag him somewhere and decided that cutting off his hand was a good course of action so you could drag him somewhere, even though you couldn't drag him somewhere. Are you listening to yourself? If you're so worried about being able to move unconscious people then maybe next time you should avoid beating them into unconsciousness."

Blue Jay visibly jumped when the slab of concrete landed beside him. That and Giza’s kind request for him to get moving did not go unnoticed by Blue Jay, and he figured that now was probably a good time to go unnoticed from the scene. These two had their little chat handled. He didn’t see any reason to stick around.
His foot, however, begged to differ. It was probably adrenaline and his sword that had allowed him to put any weight on it during the fight, because with past dues from putting weight on it plus the hole Giza had gone and stuck in it, it was not in the mind of letting him leave. In attempting to stand up, he gave a grunt of pain and fell back to the ground.
Meaning he was stuck here, listening to these two bicker until his sword came back and decided to start working for him again. Since he wasn’t in any technical danger, it could go and take its sweet time. It probably would, seeing as he’d just chucked it in the ocean.
He tried to zone the two of them out, focus on something like making sure all of his injuries were properly dressed, but that meant focusing on the injuries that were feeling as bitter as he was. There was only so much he could take. Thus, halfway through Aurora’s last word, Blue Jay interjected his own.
“Would you stop your high and mighty disparaging talk like I’m not right here? There’s no need, yeah? You’ve already attacked me out of nowhere, and after you dragged me out of the ocean after shooting knives at me - and have you ever gotten seawater in a cut before? It stings like hell! And after that, you figured you should just go and cut off my hand rather than, I don’t know, helping out the person who isn’t breathing? Look, I know you need to make yourselves feel all powerful or whatever and I, the Bulwark who screws up left and right, am the perfect person to kick after you’ve already literally rubbed salt in my wounds, but is it really goddamn necessary? No, no slack can be cut for Blue Jay, can it? Because I deserve this or whatever because I’ve stepped on your toes or that line between downtown and the docks.”
His eyes were closed in frustration and his head was down. He began quietly, but the tone of his voice quickly rose. If someone tried to cut him off, he’d go heedlessly right on talking, louder than before.
“Do you guys have any idea how hard it is just to get some peace to practice for a bit?! I can’t go anywhere, no matter how who cares out of the way it is, without the police showing up twenty minutes after I start. If it’s not police, then it’s a super who’s decided he’s got a vendetta with me because I keep running into the rainbow moving truck with an anger complex for no reason other than I’m unlucky or I have to because it’s kinda my job to try to stop someone from wrecking the news station for the tenth time this month, like it isn’t going to be turned into a pile of rubble the next week anyway. But oh, if I don’t try to stop you, clearly I suck at my job and it’s all my fault that Aurora whatever stupid nickname they’ve pissed you off with destroyed your building.
“I should just be more careful, you say. I’d like to see you guys try to do my job with powers like mine. Fighting? Forget trying to use my full power. That’s how I destroy the next building over or break all the ribs of the person I’m trying to stop! I’ve got to be careful I don’t accidently kill anyone! You know what else I can do? Teleport and stab things. That first one’s really useful for stopping people, isn’t it? Aurora’s shrugged off a stab to the arm and you aren’t even one of the tougher supers! So what am I supposed to do with a sword? I can’t go deeper than skin because unlike some people I don’t want to cut off anyone’s arm and I certainly can’t go for the places that’ll actually stop people! But if I don’t use enough power, god knows they’re not holding back against me! Giza, you were going for the kill, weren’t you? Yeah, you want to know why I ‘cause trouble for everyone around me’? So I could return the favor and stab you in the lungs and then shock wave your guts, or I can play glorified whack-a-mole and try to nonlethally whittle down my opponent while also trying to mitigate not just my property damage but yours - because every dollar you cost the public is another reason to shoot me on sight - and keep innocents from falling into the crossfire with powers that are meant solely for killing dragons! So I pick the option that makes me a decent human being and as a result my normal day is to get offhandedly called a useless idiot like it’s a matter of fact by a kill-happy magician and an egotistical kill-joy I can’t seem to get away from, the first of whom doesn’t know the first thing about trying to use his powers for good and the second has no clue what it’s like to deal with powers that not only screw with you on a daily basis but are meant for absolutely nothing besides killing!
“So yeah, go ahead and keep on blaming me for everything. That’s the only goddamn thing I’m good for, isn’t it? So sure, you can go on pretending that I’m the reason Aurora isn’t constantly watching your every move with amazement and respect, like that’s why she doesn’t see you for the oh so special thing you are! And you can go on pretending like I’ve got no clue what I’m doing so you can feel like you, Aurora, are ever so powerful, because gee if this is the best I can do you must be perfectly right in all of your actions because you’re so much better than me! See if I care if you don’t seem to have an ounce more of respect for me after I help you out or if I mind being constantly talked down to or if I mind having to deal with all the consequences of your stupid destructive actions!”
Blue Jay dignantly crossed his arms and huffed. He didn’t really care if he’d gotten off topic or however much time he might’ve just spent doing so. He wanted to pretend like he was dry and not bleeding and that the burn on his shoulder wasn’t beginning to, you know, burn, and instead he was home or resting on a rooftop with a coke and some ice cream. And he wanted to stew in the anger that resulted from a situation that could’ve been avoided as a whole if Giza had just let him harmlessly shoot shockwaves at a bit of water.

Giza looked over to Blue Jay as he started to monologue; his injuries might be the only thing that prevented him from leaving since he decided to hang around still. So it was clear that at the moment his power is truly isn’t working, otherwise he wouldn’t need to walk around and further hurting himself. Giza does let out a small hint of a snicker when he saw Miss Aurora threw a concrete slap at him because of his throwing the sword at him. With a few moments to think to himself, he does see the point that Miss Aurora made when she scolded him. Once Blue Jay finally finished with his long-wind monologue, Giza turned to Miss Aurora:
“I-I understand that all supers’ safeties are your concern, Miss Aurora. I will admit that it was silly of me to decide to drag him in here rather than get him out of the dock. But since I was slightly under pressure of believing he might wake up anytime soon, I didn’t really think straight.”
He then turned his attention to Blue Jay, who’s sulking at the corner after he let out his frustration with his mouth:
“And you don’t have a right to complain about your stupid misfortune. What, does your Bulward buddies forgot to build a practice range inside your headquarter? You think that because you couldn’t find a good spot to practice your destructive power that you decided to go to the dock, the place that just got out of a dragon attack, mind you, to practice your destructive power? Do you even hear your own word, Bulwark?
“Oh no,” Giza started to mimic Blue Jay’s voice, “I don’t have a place to practice my power with its dangerous destruction force anywhere. Oh I know: I could just practice over at the dock where the Pandaemonium hung out; obviously nobody will care if Their place got destroy by my power; what with all the dragon’s destruction, no one will be the wiser.”
He then return back to his usual annoying tone:
“So what you’re saying is that you couldn’t have teleported your ass over a huge desert out in the middle of bloody nowhere out there to practice? What, are you bound in the city limit that you couldn’t leave without your parents’ permission or something? Use your teleportation power and just get yourself over in some desert in Arizona or something; at least there the only thing you would worry about ruining is a bunch of sand and dirt. Just how stupid are you exactly? I thought you naming yourself after a bird because your sword make a whistle noise like a song bird, not because you have the same intelligent level as a dumb pigeon.”

"Are you done?" she asked flatly. "There are a lot of deserted areas on the outskits of town. You might have better luck practicing in Evergreen Hollow."
She was content to leave it at that. The rest of it was such a rambly rant that Aurora doubted even he knew what he was talking about or trying to say. Commenting on something like that would be a waste of time. The picture itself becoming clear though, and it made her stomach burn. She didn't belong to anyone, she didn't owe anyone anything, and she couldn't allow the people she associated with be hurt, whether she willingly associated with them or not. If Giza was going to keep acting out like this, it was going to become a problem. For now, she had a responsibility to the person wronged by her subordinate.
"Do you want me to carry you home?" she then turned her attention to Giza. "And you, I will talk to whoever I damn well please. I talk to a lot of people, not just him, are you going to go cut off all their hands too? This is your last warning. If I see you attacking people for this reason again there will be severe consequences. And stop lying to me, you're not very good at it."

Blue Jay rubbed his brow. Much of his anger had dissipated. With it, his voice had quieted considerably to where he was speaking softer than normal, and the hoarseness had returned in full. Now he mostly felt cold and burnt.
“That’s what you respond to, Giza? Out of everything, that’s what you choose to try to counter.” He sighed. There wasn’t much point in trying to argue his side, or this point at all, but he found the accusations and jabs from Giza insulting. “No, the Bulwark Headquarters does not have a practice range that’s anywhere near large enough or strong enough for me to make use of. Do you guys, with all of your millions of stolen dollars, have a practice range made out of near indestructible material? No, I can’t just transport myself to Arizona. You think it’s as simple as that? My teleportation has this thing called a ‘range’, and while it’d be comparatively fast, getting myself that far would take several hours one way. And I do still need to, you know, eat and drink. Not to mention how wearing several hours of basically straight running would be. That’d be a several day trip, and I can’t afford to leave Emerald City for that long every time I want to try to keep my skills sharp.
“If you thought about it for a second, I came here exactly because this is one of the places I will cause the least destruction. You’d have to be blind if you didn’t see it; I was hitting the water, not the ground or any of the structures. The thing that doesn’t break when I hit it. But I guess that’s still not good enough for you, is it? Sorry, I didn’t realize this random, broken down, abandoned port was so crucial to Pandaemonium. I deeply apologize for the negligible damage I may have caused to the bottom of the inlet that’s totally in use and was in tip-top shape before I showed up.”
He shifted his uninjured leg up. Resting his elbow on his knee and his head on his hand, he gave Aurora a returned flat look. “I’ve already thought about that. I basically have to practice on water because anything else will be destroyed. The Hollow does have lakes, but it’s still not as simple as finding a large one and calling it a day. Lakes are delicate ecosystems and if I just go blasting them with shock waves I’m going to kill everything in them. I have to consider what that’s going to do to the forest’s ecosystem as a whole, and it’s… not good. The ocean’s large enough that it doesn’t have the same problem, but it means I have to find somewhere along the coast that hasn’t been turned into beachside property or a busy tourist destination. This happened to be a spot I figured would be unoccupied and less quick to draw police attention.”
Aurora’s offer was somewhat unexpected. Not unappreciated, considering it’d be out of her way and she had no obligation forcing her to help him. Though he wasn’t sure he wanted to take her up on it.
“You’d make it purposefully as uncomfortable as you could. Last time you carried me you punched me in the stomach and then tossed me over your shoulder. Plus, do you even remember the way back to my house?” His expression relaxed and he shifted his weight into his other leg. “I think I’ll pass and wait for the sword to come back to get myself home. If the police come, I’ll,” actually, he didn’t know what he’d do. He wouldn’t be able to run, and if he was able to fight he wouldn’t be be there to begin with. If he tried to pass himself off as a random civilian, there would be many, many questions. “I’ll figure something out.” He sighed.

Giza couldn’t believe what he’s hearing before him; he doesn’t know which is worst: the fact that Miss Aurora considered Blue Jay to be better company than him, or the fact that she actually had been in his home that she offered her help for him. He slowly walked back against the metal wall behind him, speechless of this. He slowly slump down on the ground, unable to say anything in response to that.
In response to her word, Giza wrapped his arm around his knees and sit there, contemplating about what he should do. He felt cold and empty; his whole purpose of doing anything was to get Aurora’s attention, to have her impress by his action. But if all of those things he did for her were meaningless, then what is his purpose anymore? Being rejected is one thing; being insulted by a rival and rejected by the very person he looked up to is another.
He wished he could just sew Blue Jay’s mouth up to stop him from speaking anything, but since Aurora is here, he must listen to what she order him to do. He gave her a promise that he would be by her side no matter what, but so far he has been unable to fulfill any of that promise. He wished he could have finished off Blue Jay before Aurora arrived at the scene, then he can at least doesn’t have to listen to his preachy chalk-scratching voice.
But the worst part? He couldn’t even come up with a reason to explain his position. He felt like the two of them had conspired together to beat him down. The fact that Aurora decided to take Blue Jay’s side in the argument, everything in life just faded away from his grasp.

"Sometimes you have to make unpleasant choices to do what you want. Right now, it seems like your options are not practicing, practicing at the docks, which might get you attacked because the person feels like it, practicing on one of the more remote areas of Malachite Isle, which might get you Keeper attention and who knows what the hell goes through their minds most of the time, or practicing in Evergreen Hollow and killing everything in one lake.
"I remember everything people tell me. I still remember my old friend from elementary school's phone number even though we haven't spoken in nearly a decade. Is it really that surprising that I'd remember where you live?" Aurora raised an eyebrow. "The circumstances behind our last encounter were different. I couldn't afford to have you squirming while I was dealing with four armed police officers at the same time. I doubt there'd be any need this time. Though I'm certainly not going to try to convince you of any of this. It'd save me a lot of time and effort to just leave you here."
Despite the words, there wasn't any form of malice, or even that much irritation, in her voice. Aurora stated it like she was just stating a simple fact. Then, her attention turned to Giza who decided that acknowledging a mistake was somehow the end of the world. Her expression flattened and she sighed. This was why she hated dealing with people and had no desire to be any kind of leader. It was beyond pathetic. Shaking her head she turned around.
"Giza! Quit feeling sorry for yourself and get up. I caught wind of rats in the area while you were too busy dealing with a non-issue. Acknowledge your mistake, move beyond it, and don't do it again. Right now we have work to do, come on."

“And there you go again, blaming that your faction attacked me on me.” Blue Jay muttered to himself. Bitter or not, he guessed it didn’t currently really matter. Complaining because one wants to fume a bit is not a time to make a convincing argument. He wasn’t in the mood to attempt to actually solve any of these problems, so he wasn’t going to try. It wasn’t like luck was giving him any shortage of encounters with Aurora to discuss stuff later in.
“That’s… comforting to know.” Blue Jay sighed. Comforting for the other people at the house, too, he was sure. At least if Aurora should ever decide to take advantage of the fact she knew where he lived to try something drastic, she was going to be outmatched by the large number of other supers there. It was one pro to boarding with a bunch of people who made the laundry room a living nightmare and stole his ice cream with teleportation powers.
“But no, I’ll take care of myself.” He said, waving dismissively. “Just give me ten minutes.”
With Aurora’s mention of him, Blue Jay cast a look at Giza huddled in the corner. He seemed so dejected. He guessed he had just been chewed out by Aurora, and while Blue Jay had long since learned not to put much weight on her opinions of various people, Giza seemed to care a good deal. Blue Jay was getting flashbacks to some misunderstandings with his own faction, and couldn’t help but feel some, well, sympathy for the guy. Plus, he seemed sorry enough. Blue Jay was going to take this as an apology from Giza.

Giza looked up to Aurora when she told him to snap out of his gloom and gave him an order to do something. He looked at her with a puzzle look:
“Did you mean rats as in some annoying interlopers sticking their nose in place where they don’t belong? Or do you mean actual vermin infestation?”
After all, if they’re a bunch of actual rat vermin hanging around the dock, it isn’t really that surprising seeing how they’re in the slum area. If he has to go deal with some pest-control mission, maybe he can use those rats as target practice, and perhaps contributing to what Aurora is doing.
If they’re just some people who put their nose where they didn’t belong like Blue Jay here, it wouldn’t be much different with his method other than chasing after some screaming pedestrians. He took a glance over at Blue Jay; he can already tell from his expression that he has a tiny hint of pity on him. Seeing his rival looked at him with pity like that only make him more annoyed than before, but he couldn’t do anything about it now as long as Aurora is here.
“Consider yourself lucky, Dodo; as Miss Aurora ordered me, I won’t kill you.”
He then pulled out a small card from his coat and shove it into Blue Jay’s chest. Waiting for Aurora’s clearer explanation on her order for him and where he should go, he stood behind her while glaring at Blue Jay. If he read the card that Giza just gave him, it’ll read:
“The next time we fight, you better bring your A-game. There’s no satisfaction in beating a wimp.”

"I'm not blaming you," Aurora quirked a brow. "I'm just stating a fact. You know most of the people here are violent morons right? For most of them existing is a good enough reason for them to fight someone."
The rest wasn't worth commenting on. If Blue Jay wanted to take care of himself he could. Aurora just folded her arms and waited for Giza to catch up to her before moving on. The situation here was settled...for now, but she wasn't sure how permanent this would be. It was disturbing to see someone attacked not because of anything she, or the other person, did but because they came into contact sometimes. With her current rise to power, that was something that was going to happen often. This kind of behavior had to be nipped in the bud.
"Both in all likelihood. Now that they've been chased out of the docks proper they need to find new places to hide. I don't intend to let them."
She started walking, assuming Giza would follow and Blue Jay would not. Once the two of them were far enough from Blue Jay, she turned to face Giza directly, though she didn't stop walking.
"I mean what I said before. If you attack another person just because of their contact with me I will never forgive you. People can't be afraid to work with me."
