For the most part, Eve loved school. She learned well in a lecture hall environment, even if her notes were about things she should look up on her own later rather than the class material. More than anything, she loved learning. School was a great facilitator for that, both for what it teaches and the other things it exposes her to. She's looked up many things on her own that she would have never even heard of if it weren't a comment from school, whether that came from the teacher, assignments, or even other students. However, there was one thing she absolutely hated about her new school. For whatever reason, they wanted her to take so many trash classes on subjects that didn't interest her, and it pissed her off. School was great when she could go to it on her own terms. Throw in shitty classes like art? It makes the experience worse. Eve knew she had no skill for the visual arts, she didn't even enjoy them. If the school wanted her to be a well-rounded person, why couldn't she study the performance arts instead? She was good at that, and it was more related to what she was studying than drawing was. The whole situation irritated her to no end, but she still couldn't bring herself to not try in that class. It would lower her GPA, even if a class this stupid shouldn't count, and she just couldn't have that.
Thus, she was in the forest trying to do a shitty assignment for that shitty class. The assignment was to get some rubbings from objects in nature, and then try to draw them. She needed so many that just going into her backyard wasn't enough. Thus, she waited for a day where it was supposed to be sunny and headed into the forest. There should be plenty of things she could use there. While Eve didn't particularly dislike the outdoors or anything, the whole assignment was souring her mood and making her want to be here even less than usual. She could appreciate pretty flowers, or nice views, but she didn't particularly care for the forest. She lived in Emerald City her entire life, so the forest never felt that impressive to her. That just made her want to be here even less, and it showed on her face. The assignment was taking loner than expected as well, which left her grumbling. She was irritated enough that she started kicking every root she nearly tripped over, and was practically ripping the branches off the trees that got in her way.
The canopy of the forest was thick enough that she didn't even notice the clouds moving in. The raindrop that fell on her nose was unmistakable though. The damn forecast was wrong. It started to rain. Eve started swearing as the rain quickly picked up into a complete downpour. It was raining hard enough that it was actually difficult for her to see in front of her. Sadly, she didn't bring an umbrella, given she thought it would be sunny all day, and there was no way she was going to attempt to walk home in rain this hard. She'd be soaked to the bone before she even got out of the forest. Fortunately, the remains of those fortifications that were built before the founding of Emerald City were nearby. Eve raced towards the nearest one, careful to not trip and fall while she was moving fast. The last thing she needed was to slow down that much while in the rain.
Eve carefully looked over the remnants of her assignment. All the paper was completely ruined, and the charcoal she used to make those rubbings was running off the side of the page. Her eyebrow twitched. Not only was she completely soaked, but she'd have to redo the entire assignment again. She sweared again, balled up the wet paper and threw it into the forest. With a scowl on her face she started wringing out her shirt so she could hopefully at least be a little dryer.
The rain wasn't showing any sign of letting up. It looked like she was going to be here for awhile.

These forests that Emerald City provided were amazing sights for photography: One of Vivi's favorite pastime's and best talent. It came naturally, rather. She tied four sets of laces that caused her new, tight hiking boots to rub against her skin uncomfortably; exactly how she enjoyed them. Swinging a neon yellow colored umbrella to make up for the lack of the day's sun, whistling a high tune, Vivi decided that a walk seemed nice right about now. Accompanied by the high-tech camera strapped around her neck? Even better. Feeling safe due to the fact that she'd heeded the warning of possible rain given only late in the afternoon, which could and most likely would throw many people off about the forecast, Vivi threw her head back and enjoyed the fresh air against her skin mixed with higher-than-usual altitudes as she trekked up her usual nature path. Which consisted of simply cutting through the tall, untamed grass instead of moving along the smoothed out paths specially made for hikers who didn't want to get lost. As if she could ever get lost. Though Vivi had her first few times of venturing in Evergreen Hollow, now the place had been engraved inside of her brain and she now brought a map with her everywhere she went, no matter how close the destination.
Taking pictures here and there, Vivi allowed the rain to put a halt to activity as it meant she could finally open her beloved umbrella. So bright and comforting, unlike most things in her life, it reminded her of her beloved mother who adored the color of yellow. Popping open the item of protection, she swung and held it above her head just in time to avoid the downpour of rain droplets clinking against the surface of the umbrella, falling off the sides and mimicking waterfalls while doing so. Lips curling into a rare smile, Vivi continued forward knowing that shelter lay ahead where rain hardly touched the insides for as old as the tiny, open building seemed. Though that smile quickly disappeared as a wet, darkened, crumpled paper hit the middle of her shirt; soaking the white material that now clung to the peach skin of her toned stomach, putting a damper on her mood. Continuing onward, Vivi had her head on a swivel in search of who had thrown the paper at her, and that search had proved to be nearly effortless as the culprit stood not too far away.
Boots crunching and flattening grass blades made it hard not to hear Vivi approach from behind thick shrubbery. She even cleared her throat and made herself rather easy to notice by twirling the umbrella in circles while she still held it in the air. Watching this stranger suffer miserably would be fun. Very much so. But Vivi needed a new friends and enjoyed meeting people simply to study their personality and morals. Not to mention she hadn't spoken to anyone in quite a while... "Looks like you could use an escort right about now." She spoke up in a flat - yet slightly playful - tone, raising a brow while her pink and brown orbs scanned the other. Denying help now would be silly and only for the stubborn.

Samantha had no love of the forest, nor was she a fan of exercise for no reason at all. No, she was only here because dogs adored it. She was accompanied by nameless mutts that looked like they would tear someone apart for just a look, all of them were unleashed, yelping and tumbling around, only returning to her side when she barked a sharp word. She wore her dark hoodie and jeans despite the sun pouring over her, seemingly fine with her raised temperature. ...At least until it started raining. She grumbled to herself as the dogs romped around her, helping her mood just a little. Finally, she came upon another construct and ducked inside. She skirted around dark areas before pausing as she heard voices. She peered at them, ordering the mutts to stay behind her. She stepped out and called out, "Hey, got room for a pack?" She motioned toward her followers. Tags: notoriousrp.boards.net/user/14notoriousrp.boards.net/user/8

A quick glance outside showed that the rain showed no signs of stopping. Sure, it hadn't even been a minute since she last looked, but this whole situation was infuriating and Eve hated waiting. Why couldn't the laws of nature have the decency to work around her schedule? It was so annoying. This time, she had to peer a little closer. It was almost impossible to see through the rain, but she was sure she saw movement. Listening more closely, she was sure she heard barking too. As if this situation needed to be even more obnoxious. The movement she saw revealed itself, but she didn't exactly see any dogs nearby. There's no way she was just hearing things, that never happened to her, so what was going on?
"What I need is a lightning rod and to trigger the sprinkler system where these terrible meteorologists do their job!" she folded her arms and scowled. "If they can't even do their jobs right, they shouldn't have them. That's how it works!"
Eve huffed and leaned against the wall of the broken-down fort she was in. She wasn't sure why this person was paranoid enough to bring an umbrella out on a sunny day, but it was fortunate that she did. Or it would be if Eve was willing to take help like this, but she didn't need anyone's help! Especially not from someone silly enough to carry an umbrella with her everywhere she went. The barking picked up again, and Eve was able to see their movements this time. She also heard a voice.
"Get your own spot. Last thing I need is to smell like wet dog too."

Oh. This lone female happened to be one of those types. Another reason for Vivi to be cynical. Another reason for her to find anyone other than her family repulsive. Of course she couldn't help but enjoy those snarky comments that could make anyone seem stuck-up; they were the best to uncover and explore. Such lovely minds. Plus Vivi would be the same way if she didn't value her reputation so much. Yet she held no expression to her face; Keeping those thin lips in a straight line, eyes lack-luster as usual. Spinning her umbrella she shrugged, "If you say so. You're already soaked anyways. What's the point in wanting to get some shelter?" Vivi questioned, shoving a piece of brown hair behind an ear before turning her head. A pack of dogs? How unusual. Though dog people, from her experiences, were definitely trustworthy. Loyal as their companions came. Hopefully that happened to be true in this situation. "Everyone makes mistakes. Like that paper you chucked at me. A simple mistake. And jobs are difficult to handle, I would know, so just forgive and forget." Funny how she gave advice that wasn't even worth a penny to her own self. Funny how she met such a rare type in an even rarer location. And she knew that the other would ignore this. Heck, she knew a lot of things but tried them anyways. Knew she wouldn't benefit from gaining more "friends" yet found herself in a new social situation every day. Knew she shouldn't want to get to know these two unique strangers simply out of piqued interest.
"There's plenty of room in this world for everyone. Why do you think we have Planned Pregnancy?" Stepping towards the stranger and her pack of dogs, Vivi hesitated before stepping a bit closer. Her multi-colored orbs scanned the short, raven-haired girl. She seemed picture-worthy even when drenched and smelling of wet dog: which happened to be a correct analysis as given by the woman with white-hair and a compelling attitude. Though said smell truly didn't bother her. In fact, she enjoyed it. A very comforting, natural scent that mixed with the rainy weather and nature scenery. "Care if I take a picture? You look beautiful right now, and those dogs definitely oppose your appearance." Turning her head, she smiled slightly - a fake one, though no one had to know that especially since she's perfected the look - and dared to ask, "You have very fine hair. Want to snatch a picture too? Or would that be a mistake?"

Samantha's face dropped at the girl's comment on the dogs, feeling insulted already, "Great, there's one of you types everywhere apparently, didn't think your habitat included forests." She growled rudely, pointingly stepping into the area anyway. At the other girl's question, she peered at her suspiciously, "Knock yourself out, but good luck taking a picture of amy of these guys." Naturally, the mutts still wandered, not even a command could keep them still for long. Tags: notoriousrp.boards.net/user/14notoriousrp.boards.net/user/8

"To avoid getting wetter obviously." Eve rolled her eyes. "And by not getting wetter, I'll gradually get dryer. This isn't rocket science."
Her shirt was relatively dry at this point. It was still damp, but it at least wasn't sticking to her skin anymore. Eve pulled off her shoes and started wringing out her socks. The soggy feeling was starting to piss her off, it had to be dealt with immediately. It'd be hard to get rid of entirely, since she couldn't exactly wring out the soles of her shoes, but it would do for now. The girl's next comment however, made her tighten her grip on her socks and squeeze them tighter, making even more water come out of them.
"Are you accusing me of something?" she narrowed her eyes. "I threw it on the ground not at you. You're wrong on the other count too. Why should I just ignore it? If people had actual consequences for fucking up, maybe they'd fuck up less. I swear, the world would be a much better place if people would just stop being so damn polite to each other, and would actually hurt peoples' feelings occasionally."
Her tightened grip on the sock got the water out faster than she expected. She set the sock on her leg and started getting the water out of the other one, her eye twitching every time one of those damn dogs barked. Eve scoffed at their owner's remark.
"Yes, one of those types. Sounds like you don't want to be near me, and I don't want to deal with loud smelly animals, so you should just go away. Sounds like a win/win to me. We both get what we want."
Eve reflexively flinched when she saw one of the girl's pull out a camera. Her eyes narrowed into a deep scowl, and her lips flattened into a line. Her hair was still soaked, flat and sticking to her clothes and skin. It was already a bit of a mess from her time in the forest, but it just looked terrible now. Her clothes were even worse, most of them sticking to her skin. Her feet were exposed and covered in mud thanks to how wet they were, and her shorts were in much the same condition. It was bad enough to be seen like this, but to have it be immortalized? That was unacceptable. The way she asked was also a bit creepy, but Eve was too distracted by everything else to care right now.
"Very bad idea. Do it and you'll find a spot on my list, and I'll make sure you never see that phone again."

Vivi mentally face-palmed, feeling queasy and intimidated and angry yet so very impressed and engrossed by this single being along with her words. "What also should've been obvious and isn't rocket science is the fact that I was being sarcastic. My words were practically dripping with it..." She wanted to laugh in this woman's face. To prove she was alpha, and not the other way around. But Vivi resisted the temptation and instead continued to muse over the situation. "That's dumb to think. Sure consequences are needed," She swallowed. Of course they were! All the time. Even for the smallest of mistakes, to her any person should be hurt for what they did wrong. Going against her true thoughts all over again, Vivi urged herself to continue. "but mistakes are unpreventable. There's always that moment you slip up on a test or color outside of the lines. You're not perfect and neither is anyone else."
'Except for me. I am.' Vivi thought, keeping a smirk from forming on her nonchalant face. Sucking in breath through her teeth, the multi-colored hair female nodded before lifting her large, strapped camera, pleased to finally have a few more pictures featuring actual people posted onto her blog. Not to mention she truly believed this dog-person to be quite the looker. Well, she thought that mostly about everyone due to her all-natural, unkempt, odd looks; but albeit that fact she would've believed so even if her mother were Aphrodite. "Hmm. That's a tough one. I say it's easier to be nice and friendly so that everyone gets along. One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel, after all." She would have the best laughing fit at home upon realizing how well she was at acting as the polar opposite of her true self. Remaining stoic as usual, without a warning she snapped a few pictures of the small, raven-haired girl, pleased with the shots in the long run. By now she'd forfeited the hold of her yellow umbrella and had shoved it underneath an arm in order for both hands to be available to hold her heavy camera.
"Mhm." Vivi nodded, continuing with her numerous number of passionate shots, camera flashing and clicking with each press of the button that gave her excitement. Life. Photography would always be her first love. It held a close spot to her heart unlike no other activity or person. Other than family, of course. One of the things that kept her going, really, was photography in its raw form. As for the small dispute - for now - between the other two, she remained quiet. She'd pick her own fights but would rather not interfere with others, or be the center of attention. Well, maybe that wouldn't matter today exactly because no one else happened to be around. Luckily.

Samantha couldn't help it, she coughed out a strangely bark-like laugh as the strange haired colored girl told off the insulting girl, "I might just be starting to like you." She drawled, only half-joking.
She didn't pose for the picture, she didn't even smile. If this girl wanted a picture, she'd get one of Samantha in her natural habitat. Of course, the boys were fascinated, staring intently at the flashes and the less obedient ones wandering over to sniff at the girl. They didn't look like they would bite her, so Samantha let them explore.
"By the way," She resumed to the insulting girl, "What sounds like a "win-win" to me right now is staying right here, where its dry and bright." The implications of this were rather funny, this girl surrounded by aggressive strays, was afraid of the dark!

"Riiiight," Eve put her hands behind her head and leaned back against the wall. "Acting like you were 'just kidding' after asking a really stupid question just makes you look dumber." Eve rolled her eyes. "I'm sure that works nice for you. You can just...be a total pushover, it's no skin off my teeth. It's not like I need your help to make this right anyway."
Eve yawned, and then went back to wringing the water out of her clothes. Her socks were about as dry as they were going to get at this point, but her feet were covered in dirt and her shoes were still pretty wet on the inside. Putting her socks and shoes back on would be pointless at this point, it'd just make her feet feel soggy again. Fortunately, her shorts were the last thing she had to wring out. Once that was done, she wouldn't exactly be dry and warm, but at least her clothes wouldn't be sticking to her uncomfortably.
"You know it's called ruins for a reason," she side-eyed the girl with the dogs. "It means there's more than one. That S makes the word plural. So you could easily just...not be here and still by dry! Amazing isn't it?"
Eve rolled her eyes again, and returned her focus to the girl with the camera. As long as she had enough sense to not snap a picture of her, Eve would stay where she was. She wasn't about to take her eyes off of that girl though. This moment was not going to be immortalized.

Of course Vivi hummed in response: this girl enjoying her company even just a bit would aid Vivi in her future plans. For now, though, she'd need to make more friends to even begin what she had in mind. Start at small and finish bigger than ever. The laugh in itself happened to be unique and all the more amusing. Vivi curled her lips up very faintly in a way that one could notice creases beginning to fold around her mouth as well as the glimmer shown in her brown and pink orbs. Vivi bent and slowly moved her hand towards the dog nearest to her in attempts to gain its trust. She'd worked with plenty of animals before and seemed to click on a mental level with them naturally. These dogs weren't so bad looking, kind of cute really, and Vivi could always go for having a companion that wasn't human, or annoying, or a complete idiot, or untrustworthy And dogs don't even talk! Much better than any other friend she had out there. "Yeah. It was sarcasm." Vivi replied, feeling calm inside and out. There wasn't a reason to get so angry over such petty things... But of course, being who she was, Vivi did continue to drag on the small argument and she did continue to hang around these two because... Vivi still wasn't sure but there'd be a good reason later on. Probably. Hopefully. Plopping her camera back against her chest, Vivi eventually bent over to get a better view of the dog she previously attempted to make contact with.
"I could buy you a dictionary if it would help you. Being friendly and being pushover aren't the same thing." This, for once, she truly did believe, so the opinion came from heart and she'd be much more passionate about it if enraged. Only because it touched her emotionally and mentally, of course. The other words, opinions, and arguments she spoke of were purely for entertainment purposes. Vivi turned her head to catch a glimpse of the white-haired woman's reaction - because they were just too funny, honestly - before making eye contact with the girl who'd brought the dogs. "Do you own them all or are they strays you found out here? I'm surprised you can control them so easily. It's really neat." This raven-haired female could practically be the fish eating her bait by now. Vivi tugged a smile on her face, even if just a second, to prove how genuine her words were.

Samantha's mouth twitched into a bigger frown as the insulting girl just kept talking, her opinion on her was dropping every second.
"I don't want to go anywhere else," She snapped irritably, "The boys could get lost and...and...I don't like the looks of it." The last part was delivered at nearly a whisper, almost covered by the rain pounding outside.
She was scared, yep, she was scared of the dark and dammit, she wasn't going to set foot in there!
She perked up at the camera girl's comment, eyes narrowing as if she was searching for some kind of insult and, finding none, answering, "They're all strays, I just call and they come to me." A faint smile pulled at her face as she patted one brute of a mutt, "Yeah, it's great, I'm just...good at talking with them."

She had to get out of here. Now. This entire situation was driving her crazy. Being trapped was bad enough, but being trapped with two idiots and their dogs was even worse. The entire shelter smelled like wet dog at this point, and it looked like some of those mutts were getting bored with sniffing around the other two people and were starting to make their way towards Eve. The last thing she wanted was to deal with a wet, slobbering animal. She hated animals, and dogs were some of the worst given how needy for attention they were. So, she had to make a choice: brave the storm or stay in this insufferable place.
Eve's scowl deepened as she thought, her eyes darting around the room as she took in all her options. No, there was a third option to all this. The girl with the camera had an umbrella. She was distracted by said camera, and the umbrella was precariously perched between her arm and her torso. She was also distracted by the other idiot in the room and their dogs. Eve could work with this. She scraped off as much of the dirt and leaves from her feet as she could on the wall of the ruins, and put her shoes and socks back on. Then, she pulled up her hair, got as much of the water out of it as she could without twisting or ruining it, rolled it up, tied it and let it rest on her shoulder. At this point, she was ready.
Suddenly, she charged for the girl with the umbrella, and once she was in range, lifted her knee to hit the girl in the ribs. It wasn't a very hard strike, it was just meant to be very sudden and surprising, and hit an area that was a bit sensitive and would throw her off balance. At the same time, she reached for the umbrella. If this girl reacted like most people would, her grip would be even looser than usual and it wouldn't be too hard to grab.
