Geata noticed the girl's fire lose its power momentarily. Interesting. He wondered what caused that, but there wasn't time to figure it out as she prepared a midair attack. It seemed the fight would be more interesting than he realized. When the flames struck the ground, portals opened directly in front of Geata and the Bulwark, providing them with immediate cover. The second the flames died down, the portals followed suit.
The taunt made Geata snicker. "Sorry, kiddo," he said mockingly. "Are we putting you to sleep? That's probably a good thing, though. Isn't past your bedtime anyway?" The angrier the girl got, the more reckless she would get. It'd make her moves easier to read, and her easier to drive away as a result. And, if all else failed, he could always fall back to his usual tactics. He bet that'd be a surprise to the girl, a sudden shift in mood in her opponents. For now, though, he still needed to lay the groundwork for that.
"It's not even close to all I've got, girly," he said before faking a yawn. "But I've got to find some way to keep myself interested in this, short stuff, and your predictable moves certainly aren't enough. If I wanted, your heart would be in pieces, or I'd block off your brain stem to keep you from sending any commands to the rest of your body. Quick, simple, effective, and just as boring as your fighting style. Unless you think you're capable of making yourself worth my time, princess, don't expect me to actually fight you like a serious opponent."

Plague Doctor watched the two fight, suddenly feeling incredibly useless. He really should've at least tried to harvest more types of sickness. Perhaps he should talk to someone about that.
He was suddenly teleported away - just as flames hit the ground - he held on tight to his hat as to not lose it. He really needed a weapon. Forget plagues. At some point in the future he needed a weapon.
He looked at the girl when they had been plopped to safety. He saw what Geata was doing, it surely was time for more insulting tactics. "Yeah, poor little girl. Getting overtired? Need a bottle of milky-milk? Poor baby." He said in the most condescending voice he could manage. He pulled out his phone and began to play a lullaby before quickly stuffing it back into his fire retardant clothing.

Wrath’s fists clenched tightly. Their words brought memories back from the recesses of her mind. The mocking words, the constant mistreatment. What stood out the most was her overly religious father, attempting to perform an exorcism on her. That was the night her powers first appeared. She could hear his voice ringing in her ears, commanding her to confess. Honestly it made her laugh, even more so as a plan formed in her head.
“Forgive me Father,” she said mockingly to both her opponents and the memory, “Others drive me to sin.”
This Geata person was an annoyance, didn’t even seem to be too heroic so her idea may not affect him much. However, her eyes slid to the man with the bird mask. He was obviously a hero and this would sting. She jumped forward, tackling the masked boy and is stupid lullaby to the ground. Pulling out his phone she tossed it towards the entrance of the street, still playing. Leaning down next to Bird Boy’s ear, Wrath’s next words were but a whisper.
“You know these worthless humans would kill you if they had half a chance. Better enjoy your life while you still have freedom.”
With those words she jumped off him. Her feet skidded against the concrete for but a moment before she stood up straight. With focus, she began calming herself down. The flames that engulfed her slowly died, cooling the air. Her flame red hair darkened to a jet black. And her eyes, the glowing merciless orbs, became a bright green. The marks from earlier in their fight were now obvious, bruises lined her body and many lacerations covered her. She sent a satisfied smirk their way before her entire face changed from one of victory, to one of fear. Her voice trembled as terrified scream left her lips.
“No, please! Don’t hurt me anymore!”
Drawn by her cries, two police officers appeared at the entrance of the alley way. The now depowered girl was pulled behind one protectively as the other surveyed the damage. Pulling out his walkie talkie, the police officer called for backup and medical assistance. His partner pulled out his gun and focused it on the supers, though he was sure it would do nothing. The noise caught the officer’s attention and he looked down to see the lullaby playing phone laying there, slightly damaged.

Plague Doctor was so shocked by the attack, that he almost didn't stand up before the girl transformed. However, unfortunately for him. He was able to stand up. Behind his mask, his eyes widened. Wrath...was right. He always knew about that but he thought he'd be able to change it. His father had been an abusive man with nothing but distrust towards his son after developing abilities. Locking him in his room for hours to days on end. This girl... She was going to... to...
He spluttered. "Officers, I wasn't hurting a little girl! She's a supervillain! I'm on your side!" Plague Doctor tried to say, but all the officers saw in front of them was a girl. She wasn't the same girl who had just burned an innocent woman to death and tried to do the same to him and his comrade. And when they saw him, they saw a villain. They saw... his father.
"Stand down, bird guy!" Said the officer raising his gun towards the doctor. "But I'm not doing anything!" Screamed the doctor, his emotional state causing his powers to come out in waves causing more and more sickness and fatigue to pour out of him in waves. "Please listen to me!"
One of the officers who was perhaps just a bit too trigger happy shot at the doctor, and it grazed his arm. Crimson blood fell from the wound. The doctor immediately clutched his arm and began seizing. "We need backup at the scene, shot's fired. Suspect wounded. At least one of them has an ability." The other officer said over his radio and raising the gun himself.
"...but I didn't do anything..." Plague Doctor said before starting to sob, memories of his father coming back to him in waves.

Geata had expected some sort of fire manipulation trick, perhaps having fires come at them from behind. Instead, she decided to attack head on again, which took the masked super(s, apparently) by surprise. The Bulwark went down, but not permanently. Unfortunately, he seemed to be freaking the hell out about something. That could potentially be a problem, Geata mused. But then the girl started to change, presumably to her civilian identity. And then suddenly there were cops. Shit.
Geata may know how to talk up the role of antihero, or even possibly a villain, but he decidedly did things because that's what he thought was right. The few times he did engage in out and out villainy, it was because he had made promises to people who would've went through with their villainous acts with or without him. Better to keep his word and maintain a presence, preferably trying to minimize any potential causalities, than to break his promise for nothing. He knew he wasn't the police department's favorite super ever, for many reasons. However, even he didn't enjoy the imagery of being shot at by Emerald City's heroes in uniform. He could only imagine what had been said to the Bulwark to put him in such a state, but he seemed considerably more spooked by the cops than he should've been, though.
The gunshot had been unexpected, and coupled with the fact that Geata was starting to feel noticeable effects by the masked hero's powers, it wasn't stopped. Luckily, it seemed to have been a warning shot that had just been fired a little too hastily. If Geata handled the situation carefully, he felt he could probably at least stall enough to get the hero to a safe place to calm down.
He glared slightly at the small girl as he thought about how to best handle the truly fucked situation. "Clever ploy, kiddo," he muttered underneath his breath. "It would seem I underestimated you. Well played." He was torn between going with the tried and true art of diplomacy, or resorting to using his powers to try and counter the small murderer's trick. Suddenly, an epiphany struck. He wouldn't be able to count on ever being in the good graces of EC's finest again, but between the villain under police protection and the hero of the story being shot at, Geata doubted he'd really be worse off for that. He turned and stared at the Bulwark before, slowly, he started to chuckle.
The police were dumbstruck, and Geata mentally thanked the fact that he didn't exactly look like a hero. "I have to say, boys," he said slowly, swinging slowly towards them on the heels of his shoes. "You certainly know how to make a fellow's job easier." Suddenly, guns were leveled at him, and orders were barked at him to raise his hands, stand down, and explain himself. So far, so good, he hoped, as he raised his hands and placed them behind his head.
"Well, you see, this poor chap had quite the unfortunate encounter. He ran into a villain who was murdering the innocent. This man, though, didn't take kindly to that and promptly tried to stop the fiend." It was at that point that the man who shot at the Bulwark tried to shoot again, only to find a distinct lack of bullets being fired. Geata paid no mind. "This Bulwark did his best to interfere with the murderer's plans, and one would be victim even managed to be able to escape their clutches. But, then, his efforts were interrupted by the very same people he was helping, and he ended up becoming their target. How sad for him. I think you two fine, upstanding gentlemen can figure out who the true villain is, now, though."
As predicted, both officers didn't waver. They didn't even suspect that the girl behind them wasn't the escaped victim, but rather the antagonist of the story. A pain, to be sure, but Geata had to admit that he couldn't blame them, considering the evidence. The second officer started to try and fire upon the suspect, ie Geata, but to the same level of success that his partner had. Instead of paying them any mind, he dropped through a portal, landing directly behind the small girl. "Best of luck with the statement, kiddo," he said, his tone cold. "I'd keep an eye out if I were you."
And then, before anyone had time to react, Geata was dropping again, back in front of two officers, well out of melee range. "I am Geata, and it would do the ECPD well to remember not to interfere with my entertainment again. Leave now with the girl, and leave my opposition for the night here. I'm not done toying with him. If you don't, I'll leave, and I'll take both of them with me. I can assure you, you won't be tracking down the attempted hero or the innocent girl until I start leaving them in pieces as a trail for you to follow. What do you say, boys, do we have an accord?"

Mirth lit up Wrath's eyes as she watched the scene unfold. This was just too perfect. The police were perfect puppets for this harsh lesson. Even portal guy was getting into it. There was, however, a bittersweet ache in her chest at the sound of Birdie's sobs. It was like watching a younger version of herself interacting with her father. Regret flickered in her eyes before being quashed. There was no room for regrets. She was a sin after all, sins don't regret.
It surprised her however when portal guy stepped in. Throwing himself on the flames to save another? How disgustingly noble. Though his trick with the officer's guns was brilliant. His drawn out story was over dramatic though. Too long, didn't listen. Excitement flared inside her when he told her to keep an eye out. This Geata was going to be an interesting super to watch.
Frightened the officers heeded Geata's words. There was no time to capture these supers. THe girl needed medical attention. Plus this Geata was dangerous. No telling what would happen if they didn't listen. They led Wrath out of the alley. Looking back, the young woman mouthed three words towards Plague Doctor:
'Heed my warning.'
With that, she and the officers were gone. She had escaped without punishment and the two others were left to pick up the pieces.
