Poppet quietly walked toward a small art & craft store with her doll Jessica resting in her arms. The first mission that she was assigned to was a bit stressful for her, so she thought a little window-shopping would calm her nerve. She doesn’t know anyone around here at all, so she tried her best to avoid getting any attention from any of the adults around here. She only hope that no one around here would pay her any mind since she looks like a child wandering around without an adult’s supervision. This is also her first time going shopping by herself, so she does feel a bit excited from the notion. The store doesn’t have a lot of people shopping right now, so Poppet at least thankful for that. She gleefully brushed Jessica’s hair while looking through the array of yarn color on the shelf before her. Getting a feeling of the yarn with her finger, she can tell these yarns were quite well-made. This yarn would make a nice looking scarf, if only she has any money to buy them right now. “What do you think, Jessica,” she whispered to her doll, making sure no one is around to see her, “you think we’ll eventually afford something like this?” “Sure we can,” Jessica replied in the similar hush tone, “as soon as we got some money. You do realize that we arrived here kind of broke, right? I told you we should’ve sold some of our stuff when we first step foot on this country.”“But I like my clothes; I don’t want to sell any of them.” “Yeah well when we found ourselves out on the street begging for money like a bunch of homeless, you let me know how special your clothes are then.”Poppet sighed; Jessica does have a good point, seeing how she only temporally sheltering in the Sanctum until she can find a more permanent lodging option. However, being a super isn’t a good record in the resume to find a nice place to stay, not to mention anyone are willing to hire her because of her child-like stature. She did hear about one of the Keeper who might have be able to help her financial problem, but she really doesn’t want to own any Keeper any favor at the moment. They all seem quite scary each time she come across one of them. Since she can’t buy anything here, she exited the store and started to head back to the Sanctum all by herself. At the very least the day hasn't been terrible for her other than her financial problem, which she can deal with it soon enough. Geata

Geata was taking the scenic route home, actually walking through Malachite Isle in order to to acquaint himself better with the area for a while before making use of his powers, after talking to Azoth about a potential plan that she might have been interested in. Luckily for him, she had thought it potentially worthwhile, and he was heading back in a good mood.
He kept his mask on in case he encountered any sort of trouble, but he was wearing a dark grey jacket with the hood pulled up, so he was able to stay out of unwanted attention. While he didn't want to waste time with trying to get it on if he needed it, he understood that it would've been a pain for the average civilian to recognize him. He knew that he hadn't exactly been doing much in the way of heroic actions, and nobody would really care about what his intentions were. Hearing Blue Jay talk about the Bulwark's opinions on his actions had made that point very clear. It was best to just stay out of the public spotlight, as much as possible. Or maybe he should just give in, give people a truly good reason to believe he was the villain they thought him to be.
He was musing on the pros and cons of doing exactly that when he turned a corner and bumped into a person he was surprised to recognize. He looked down at the girl, surprise in his eyes. "Sorry, Poppet," he said quietly after a moment. "I didn't see you there. You okay?"

Poppet was really surprise when someone bumped into her as she was walking down the street. The collision nearly knocked her off her feet, but she managed to retain her balance while keeping Jessica in her arm. As soon as she looked up to see who she bumped into, the skeleton mask underneath the hood was enough for her to recognize the guy that jump into her first mission with Pumpkin from a little while back.
Seeing him once again does make her feel rather uneasy; is he stalking her here? She tightly hugs her doll while looking slightly away from him, looking to see if there’s anyone near them at the moment. Seeing no one nearby, she slowly took a step back without making eye-contact on him.
“U-Um…” her voice came out with such softness that he probably unable to hear her, “I’m fine.”
As soon as she finished speaking to him, Jessica started to speak while remaining in her arm:
“Well if it isn’t Mr. Portal Bone-face, rather fancy meeting you here. Are you stalking little kid now? You do know it’s a crime, right?”
“Jessica,” Poppet quietly scolded her doll for its comment. Just because Poppet look like a little kid doesn’t mean she’s actually a little kid.

Geata simply blinked at the doll's accusation. He had stalked a super here and there back in the golden days of yore, but he had neither time nor reason to do so recently. And Poppet was slightly less than a person of interest to him, so far. Not to mention the various other things that came to his mind on why he wouldn't be stalking some little kid who looked too young to even have powers.
"Listen, if I wanted to stalk you, you wouldn't even suspect it. I have plenty of experience following around shady, paranoid characters without being spotted. Don't insult my skills." His voice was flat as he spoke, but he was clearly interested in something else. That something in particular was the surrounding area and rooftops. He wasn't the only super who had taken a liking to learning things from the shadows, but was pleased to see that Poppet didn't seem to be the subject of any obvious surveillance. She didn't seem to be the sort who could handle such a thing well.
He sighed as he spoke again. "Besides, if I was stalking you, I'd have some idea of what a Keeper is doing out in the open the way you are." He paused a moment as he looked at the doll, vague interest and distaste evident in his voice when he spoke again. "The way you two are, I suppose I mean."

“A-ha! I knew it,” Jessica exclaimed as loud as she can, “so you are a stalker, and a creepy one at that.”
Poppet’s stomach started to fluster even more than before as she slowly taking a step back away from him. How did this creep know her name from only meeting once? She believed she didn’t let him know what her name was other than Jessica. Is he that much interested in all of the Keeper’s members? She might have heard some rumor that Azoth might have leaked some information to some outsiders; would this guy be one of them? This guy just gives off a very bad vibe from him all over, and she doesn’t feel conformable speaking to him at all.
It’s not like she’s presently using her power in the open; being in a child-like appearance does help her blending in with the world. After all, no one suspected her to be a super since she’s way too young looking for that. As for her doll Jessica, she can easily explain to them that she’s practicing her ventriloquism for a show at her school. People just buy into her excuse without a second thought, since no one ever took her seriously.
“So if you’re not stalking us, what in the blaze are you doing here dressing like some creep who's about to mug someone? Are you a spy? Or are you a rat?”

Geata raised an eyebrow at the doll's exclamation. What part of him not stalking them was so hard to understand? And he was decidedly less creepy than practically every other Keeper he had met, present company included. Carrying around a talking doll wasn't exactly normal, after all. He was just wearing a hoodie, which wasn't exactly strange for most people his age, and he had bumped into her on the street.
He sighed and looked down at the Keeper and her doll. "Listen, kid," he said, irritation creeping into his voice, "could you possibly be any more rude? I had business here on the Isle. I'm on my way home, and I thought walk with some fresh air might be enjoyable. Turns out that, instead, it led to me getting insulted for no reason." He rolled his eyes before continuing, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You might be surprised, but supers don't necessarily always like attention. A hoodie keeps unwanted attention off of me. This is because it's an extremely common article of clothing. No, I'm no spy, what could you possibly know that I'd be interested in that I couldn't find out myself by other, easier means. Now then, is there any other way you'd like to try to antagonize me, or are you just going to keep being rude?"

“Oh really?” Jessica said with a heavy tone of skepticism in its voice, “If you’re not here for anything shady, then wh-”
Poppet cut off Jessica’s speak by covering its mouth, causing the doll to speak with incoherence muffle noise. She then quietly looked up to Geata for a split second before turning away.
“I-I apologize,” she said with her soft whispering tone without looking at Geata, “P-Please don’t take her too seriously, J-Jessica tend to be l-like that to everyone.”
The doll continued to let out muffle noise, as if it’s protesting for Poppet’s accusation. However Poppet maintained placing her hand over the doll’s mouth tightly to stop it from speaking any further. She twisted her right feet back and forth, feeling nervous and awkward since she just doesn’t know what to say to him.
“S-So…” Poppet finally let out a sentence, “w-were you doing business with Azoth?”

Geata blinked when Poppet actually covered the doll's mouth. Either she was very committed to her ventriloquism, or the doll was really talking. Unfortunately, with supers, it was just as likely to be something simple as it was something insanely complicated and confusing. That was why the masked super decided it was best to simply go with the flow and question absolutely nothing unless it required questioning. A talking doll, magical or otherwise, didn't really warrant an interrogation.
"Don't worry about it," he sighed in response to the apology. "I'm sorry too. That was rude and uncalled for on my part." He wasn't willing to say that it wouldn't happen again, but he did regret it. He just had a short fuse when it came to people being outright rude for what feels like the sake of being rude. Aurora was rude, but it was more of a byproduct of her personality, and for some reason it simply sat better with Geata. There was also the fact that Aurora was intimidating whereas the doll was not, but Geata preferred to keep that fact firmly locked away at the back of his mind.
The small girl's obvious awkwardness left Geata to question what would be best. He could just say bye, leave, and forget that the meeting ever happened. He could also try to keep a conversation going in the hopes of showing her he had no intention of hurting her, which would help her keep her composure in future fights whether he was fighting with her or against her. That might end up screwing him up later, but it could also help, and it was sure to help her either way.
Poppet ended up making the decision for him, though, as she asked about his business on the Isle. "Yeah, she was part of it," he said, "but now that I think about it I should probably stop by Happy World to see if I can catch Unhallow. I'm not big on having to ask a person to get ahold of another person for me; it feels like I'm bothering them, you know? Even if the first person is Sin Eater." He paused a moment before chuckling. "Odds are you either already understand what I mean by that or you will soon."
"Anyway, why are you out and about, Poppet? I thought most of you Keepers were rich folk who could hire people to go shopping for them, and I'm not seeing the signs of super activity in the area."

Poppet scuffled slightly with her position; it is quite difficult to keep Jessica to remain quiet while she’s talking to Geata. At least she got to confirm that Geata is working with Azoth; for what exactly is a mystery, one that he probably won’t let her know about. There were some rumors about Azoth sneaking some of the Keeper’s information to an outsider, so it wouldn’t surprise her if Geata is part of it. Right before she could answered his question, however, Jessica managed to break free of its bind and fly out of her hand, landed right on top of her head.
“Do we look like we made of money to you?” Jessica said to him, “Don’t you go assuming that just because it’s the Keeper mean they’re made of money. Look at Unhallow, for God sakes, they used to live in that decrepit amusement park before Azoth decided to give them a home.”
“Jessica,” Poppet tried to grab onto her doll, only to have the doll floating out of her reach, hovering right above Geata and landed right on his shoulder.
“I bet that’s why you’re working for Azoth, right? She’s rich as hell, and I bet you want a piece of that fortune along with what information she sneaked out to you. Tell you what, how about yo…”
Before Jessica could finish talking, Poppet dragged her doll back by pulling on the invisible wires that are attached to the doll:
“That’s enough, Jessica, you get back to my hand this instant.”
Jessica struggled quite a bit before it flew back into Poppet’s arm, just in time for some pedestrians appeared out of the corner of the street. They just looked over to see a little girl with her doll, hanging out with a creepy hoodie guy before her. They just talked quietly to each other while walking way. From the way those civilians talked, she wonder if they might have mistook Geata to be some creepy guy hanging around little girl. Once they’re out of ear-shot, she finally broke the awkward silence:
“I-I’m sorry about that. I hope I didn’t just put you with more suspicious glare than normal.”
She quietly hugged her doll, feeling rather bad about this. Even if Geata was a bit rude at first, it was simply as a response for Jessica’s rudeness.

Geata didn't really care about the doll's outburst. So what if people thought he was creepy? They couldn't connect it to his mask or face, so it wasn't as though it really mattered. Especially not in the face of the new information provided. If Azoth bought Unhallow a new house, that rose a few important questions, but it also answered something important as well. Suddenly, it made sense why he hasn't been able to find them in the amusement park. He needed to ask Azoth the address, and possibly to accompany him to prevent him from being seen as a trespasser again. He also made sure to note that he needed to ask Azoth exactly how much disposable cash she had, if she can just go buying houses on a whim. Still, he had been accused of something (again).
"I work with her because she's a personal friend of mine," he said coldly. "Just because you Keepers are so shallow as to only offer assistance when you can benefit from it doesn't mean I'm the same way." He may have met Poppet for that reason, but it wasn't the only reason, at least. The other reason may have solely to ruin a Keeper's day, but she didn't need to know these things. After the accusations thrown at him, he was willing to be a slight hypocrite.
"What makes you think she's given me anything for working with her, anyway? Last I checked, I certainly wasn't going around talking about how 'Azoth gave me information'." Granted, she had, but again, what Poppet - and Jessica - didn't know really couldn't hurt her. It's not as though there was any proof of the accusation, just circumstantial evidence that the Keeper before him had no way of accessing. "I don't appreciate such things being said like an accusation against my friend, either," he said.

At the moment, being annoyed at Jessica is an understatement; not only did the doll make another rude comment at Geata, but also pissed him off enough that he respond to her question with a cold tone. Though it is true that Poppet is still a bit suspicious of Geata and the relationship between him and Azoth; after all, he knew her name without hearing her introduction. But other than the weary feeling she had, she has no reason to be rude to him, or even make such an accusation like that.
However, she can’t help it if Jessica decided to be rude; it’s like trying to stop her from breathing, it is impossible for her to do so. She would apologize to Geata again for her doll’s rudeness, but she doubt he would understand since she had already apologized to him already.
“I-It’s just a rumor I heard from among the organization.” She said with a soft apologetic tone, “I’ve met with Azoth, and she doesn’t seem like a kind of person who would do a favor to anyone without wanting something in return.”
“Yeah, and she doesn’t look like a small-talk kinda girl either, so color me intrigue if I find the relationship between the two of you a bit…fishy.”

Geata frowned underneath his mask. If there were rumors, then there was still somebody saying something in order to give the rumors reason to exist. Like he just said, he hadn't exactly been going around, telling everybody who would listen about where he got the information that he did. The same could probably be said about Azoth. That meant that there was somebody else who had said something, but there was a shortage of Keepers who would know anything that could even lead them to think that. Unhallow didn't strike him as the sort who would say anything, and she was the only one who had worked with the two of them. Arcanum had only worked against them the once, and there wasn't anything that Geata could think of that would lead her to think that Azoth was sharing Keeper info. That left only one other terrible person who could be saying something like that, and they were the only one who had said anything that would lead to them possibly spreading such a rumor.
Damn Sin Eater.
He sighed as he considered what else had been said by the small Keeper before him. Azoth certainly seemed that way, sure, but for whatever reason, she wasn't when it came to him. That didn't matter, though, not at the moment. What mattered was that he needed to figure out a way to convince Poppet that there was nothing more to focus on. It wouldn't do to have her potentially say something to the wrong person and cause problems of an unpredictable scale.
"Sorry, but it sounds like you met her once, if I'm not mistaken," he said calmly. "Appearances can be deceiving, you know. Maybe you just got off on the wrong foot with her, and one of you got the wrong first impression. I'm willing to bet that I've known her longer and better than you have, probably. Or maybe I just know how to handle people like her." Honestly, he had no idea what he was doing when he interacted with Azoth or similar people. Somehow, though, he seemed to be doing fairly well, so he wasn't going to complain.
"Anyway, even if our relationship was suspect, I'm admittedly curious as to how that pertains to you two. It's not like it would be the business of the Keepers or even you personally. Mind if I ask why this would be a subject of interest?"

Well she give him credit for saying that, at the very least; after all, just base on appearance, she looks like a little kid who haven’t even hit puberty yet. But it’s not like she didn’t gave it a try; Azoth always sound like she suspicious of everything, and always straight to business without spending time for small talk. This was why she finds it rather curious as to how Azoth is willing to share those times with him. There must be a reason why Azoth trusts this outsider more than her own faction.
Then again, Poppet had met with a few other Keeper; she didn’t get a chance to talk to them, but they all seem serious about their own thing. Hell, she couldn’t even feel like trusting them farther than she can throw them. The reason she approached Azoth was to see if she can help her with her situation, using her aid in her latest mission as a way to start a conversation.
Even still, Geata is not part of their faction; for all Poppet can tell, this guy’s loyalty is bought, not earn. It wouldn’t hurt if she feels slightly cautious to whoever Azoth associate herself with; she’s just a kid, after all.
“It peak our interest because you are not part of us, Hoodie boy,” Jessica said to him, “it’s only fair for us to feel a little suspicious toward you if you’re dealing business with Azoth.”
Poppet looked slightly uneasy about asking this; she didn’t make eye-contact to Geata, and her tone is as quiet as it was:
“It’s not like that; w-we were wondering how you were able to earn her trust, that’s all.” She looked down on the ground, “I…We would like to talk to her too, b-but I…w-we don’t know how to approach her.”

Geata smirked under his mask as Jessica pointed out the obvious. Well of course he wasn't one of "them". He had dealt with the Keepers enough that he knew there wasn't really a "them". There were individuals only, with their allegiances only extending as far as they benefit. The fact that Poppet hadn't realized that yet betrayed just how new to the faction she really was. It was almost hard to believe that he understood the Keepers more than a Keeper did.
Her implied question about approaching Azoth was less surprising. He thought for a moment before sighing. "Honestly," he said, "my only advice is to keep trying, but don't overdo it. You're probably already fine as far as getting her to like you. As for you figuring her out, I can't help with that. Either you'll learn, like I did, or you're sadly out of luck. Sorry I can't help more."

She looked down on her feet; guess even someone like him can’t gives her a good answer to her little conundrum. Guess it was a bit silly for her to ask him about this, but it’s not like she have someone to turn when she need help. Even if Geata is just a mercenary, he did jump in her first mission and help out; he might have something else in mind by helping a Keeper, but at least she’s thankful for his help.
"I-I see; t-thanks for your advice anyway."
“Why don’t you just join the Keeper if you’re intended to do business with Azoth?” Jessica asked him, “After all, it’s not like you doing anything different than what you’re doing now, right?”
“Jessica,” Poppet turned to her doll, “he probably has his own personal reason not to join the Keeper. You shouldn’t ask him such personal question like that.”
