Name: Eleanor J. Appleton, 'Elly' for short.
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Occupation: Hunter, gunsmith
Face Claim: Vane Black from Next Town Over
Appearance:
A pale and emaciated ginger, with an old-fashioned dress sense. Eyes are a very light brown. Probably cleans up nicely, but it'd take quite a bath to get all the dirt off her. She walks and talks quickly, leaving little time for others to catch up. Always carrying at least one firearm, though it may not be visible if it's a small one.
Skills:
- Bushcraft: Elly is homeless, and has been living on her own in the wilderness of Evergreen Hollow for the past few years. She hunts and grows much of her food, builds her own shelters, and survives the cold winters with little human contact. She can track, trap, forage, build simple structures, dress wounds, cook using only basic supplies, and knows where to find all the materials she needs for these. She knows the Hollow like the back of her hand, though her knowledge of the city is more limited.
- Guns: Although she's well-versed with many different tools, Elly has a thing for firearms. Not only has she managed to collect a fair number of them (including some cutting-edge and highly illegal gear), she's hunted with them for some time. She's arguably the best shot in the city, can maintain and repair her weapons efficiently, and knows their different advantages and characteristics well. Her skills in this field are renowned enough that people will sometimes seek her out to repair or modify their own weapons, on the rare occasions she shows her face.
- Elusive: Although Elly does have some state licenses, she's not exactly supposed to be living where she is or doing what she does. However, she gets away with it, because nobody can really find her. Law enforcement tried bringing in rangers to track her down, but gave up after weeks of searching revealed no sign of her. Elly is careful and stealthy, even in an urban environment, and there's little personal information one can use to root her out- the last clear photos of her are years out of date. It's very hard indeed to find her when she doesn't want to be found.
Personality:
As one might expect from someone who lives on her own in the woods, Elly is highly introverted. She doesn't talk a great deal, and when she does it's usually business. Although she doesn't dislike people per se, she's not particularly good at dealing with or understanding them, and is somewhat afraid of crowds or large groups. That said, she does try to get along with others, and can even be a little friendly with those she feels are good at heart. A smile from her is a rare thing, but not an impossible one.
When it comes to her personal life, she's methodical and efficient, because she has to be. Her very survival requires a great deal of work, and she's not one to slack off during any task, though she doesn't push herself too hard either- a day without rest can be just as dangerous for her as a day without food. She likes being self-sufficient, and showing off her competence. Knowing that she doesn't need anyone at all gives her strength, helping her continue what can be a harsh lifestyle. She's patient and stoic, and extremely resilient- there's very little she has to lose.
Nature in general is her passion, and surrounding herself with it makes her calmer, happier, and more confident. In the wilds, she's somewhat cold, but is energetic, content, and even a little playful at times. When she appears in the city, however, she's noticeably grumpy, and gets very stressed if she stays there for too long. She especially dislikes being out in the open in hot weather.
When it comes to her opinions, she's very absolute. She doesn't mind letting others think whatever they want to think, but her own views are quite deeply entrenched, and once she's decided that she likes or dislikes someone it's very hard to sway her. In the former case, she makes for a loyal ally, willing to give up a great deal for those she trusts and defend them with everything she has. In the latter case, she can be cold at best, and ruthless at worst. Selflessness, courage, and self-sufficiency are all traits she admires, while their opposites are sure-fire ways to stoke her icy disdain and quiet fury.
