Well, it seemed like Mass was going to be fighting against Rainfall and Hive-Mind. Rainfall seemed to be a possible problem, and Hive-Mind was almost definitely going to be annoying, but had a low chance of being a real issue. Tricky was also helping him, which was nice, as the Jester-esque super was at least somewhat capable. Overall, Mass was confident that he would be winning this fight. This was signified by an evil grin spreading across his face, under the armor, and the spreading of solidified air over his arms.

The snicker transformed, and, instead of going towards Mass, this time echoed in a cackle at the other supers that he would be dealing with in general. Mass did indeed seem to be his ally for this go around, which wasn't the most pleasant thing that could have happened but it wasn't awful. Mostly because Tricky did not care; one of his enemies had already decided to stare at him, and, of all things, his chest. That particular face was his least favorite, for a couple major reasons, and the attention it drew always lead to a negative response. Tricky's very peculiar and aggressive eyes focused in on the bug-covered super. His power was incredibly apparent, control over insects. A bunch of arthropods didn't stand a real chance against the incredible technology they were up against, that which Tricky was about to utilize quite effectively. He flipped off the building from next to Mass towards Hive, getting a very large vertical leap before thrusters appeared from his feet to spin him and propel him forward in a blur. The whole motion was fluid, and accompanied by a single shriek of laughter. It was an odd sound, like thousands of mechanical butterflies in a swarm amplified to echo through the empty alleyways surrounding the HQ. The cracking concrete was the abrupt end to it, Tricky having ceased as he landed several meters in front of Hive. He was in a very odd position, one foot extended with just the back tip of the heel touching the ground and the other balanced of the pointed end of his shoe, knee pulled in to his chest. This was only the case for but a few split seconds before he bounded up into a somersault powered by the same thrusters and landed on his feet flat, but crouched.. The jets of flame, and the small elliptical protrusions they had emitted from, had disappeared entirely. He rose slowly from this position, as though he considered his opposition some nominal threat, and proceeded to stare at it. Though the metal itself was expressionless, the odd face, in the proper position, that it possessed seemed to have its own desire to mutilate the super and smile through it. The particular face with the scarlet eyes seemed like it knew, but was content to watch. Though his appearance had said volumes for him, the green and black clad jester stood motionless for the moment.

Noticing the magnificent maneuverability that Tricky possesses, Hivemind takes a few steps back, not wanting to be too close to the metal clad jester. Critical Mass hasn't moved since Tricky landed and Hive didn't know what Mass was planning to do. Drawing his attention back to his situation, he starts to think about what his enemies can do. Mass has the power to increase and decrease the density in any object around him. Tricky is another story. There is little known about this maniacal figure besides his name. So, Hive doesn't really know what he's up against. Hivemind knew this fight wouldn't be a piece of cake, but he had confidence that him and Rainfall can beat these two. Thoughts raced around in his head, trying to figure out what to do. He decided he would follow Rainfall's lead and try his best to protect the Bulwark. Hive mind stood there still pondering on what actions to take to ensure their victory.

Naturally, the initiation such a large-scale action had provoked an immediate counterattack from the city's more unsavory elements. Rainfall had hoped to get out and begin a city-wide crackdown herself, but she wasn't about to leave the Bulwark Headquarters undefended against the pair of hulking armored brutes who now threatened it, particularly when she didn't entirely trust the rest of her faction. She'd secure this location herself, and ensure that the operation carried on undisturbed by this sudden assault.
Tall buildings towered around the HQ, giving her plenty of high vantage points to choose from, and it was upon one of these she now perched, watching her targets from down the scope of a long black sniper rifle. It felt good to be up high, with the wind in her hair and her prey far down below, and though her expression remained stony as ever, her trigger finger lay tense, ready to begin their duel. Today, she could truly hunt. Those two were clearly supers, and their armor would make them difficult to kill- which meant she had a good excuse to let loose a little. However, there appeared to be another Bulwark on the scene, not one she'd met or heard much about before. Hopefully he'd be able to stay out of her line of fire, and maybe do some damage himself.
There was little time to be wasted planning, however. She took aim, and fired a warning shot, a loud crack that cut the air in two as a bullet passed within inches of Critical Mass, too fast for even the sharpest of eyes to track. The villains would have two seconds to surrender or retreat before she opened fire again, this time aiming to strike them down where they stood.

Tricky launched himself back just as he had intended, through the wall of the building. He hide behind the brick walls on the inside of what he had discovered was an apartment building, keeping out of sight. The bullets would probably still find their way fairly close to him, but the suit was recovering from the fire. The strength of the gun that managed to do this was remarkable, but after a brief period it was assured that the suit would sustain no real damage. A couple moments and the suit had but only a few scratches apparent. There needed to be an escape route, he couldn't just be stuck under fire. He had to devise a decent plan, and quickly. Mass had been swarmed, and wasn't going to be moving a whole lot so it would seem. It was most unwise to remain stuck himself. He either needed to get out of this particular situation, or find some way to flip it into his advantage. He examined the position the sniper was in. Too far elevated to reach with any real ease, but Hive already engaging Mass. Hmm, his predicament seemed to be getting... Tricky.

Watching Tricky make his way into the nearby building, Hivemind started to check his surroundings to see where Critical Mass is. There he was, just standing in the same spot that he's been in since the beginning of this fight. After feeling the success of landing his attacks, he started to think of more ways that they could win this encounter. Hive noticed Rainfall and the incredible accuracy her shots possess. He couldn't imagine how much training Rainfall has been through to get that good of a shot. Hive is just glad that they both landed their attacks successfully. Now, he's even more confident that they will win and that they'll be able to save the Bulwark. Hivemind reminisced on all the times that he's helped the Bulwark on little side missions and now he's actually fighting to help keep the Bulwark together. He decided now was not the time to remember all the old times, and to keep his focus on the current situation. The time was now. It is the time pull together and save the Bulwark from the brink of destruction.

The continuing fire had prevented him from gleaning what he needed. Though he could still get some work done the shots kept him from poking his head out quite long enough to get what he needed, just on the edge of being able to effectively dodge. His suit could still take a little fire with him moving around effectively. This was to be made into an advantage, and he crashed back out of his cover towards the center of their encounter. For a moment, as he had only powered this by a quick thrust at the beginning, there was a moment that he was almost still in the air. The face that was in its proper position was faced toward Rainfall, and although it was the same as earlier it would seem like it had a sort of smugness. The same one that originally caught his attention was now staring down at Hive. It was far in the air but still easily visible. Another burst came from his chest and he turned to his right, using the thruster that would appear to jettison him to his temporary ally, but instead of breaking anything Tricky landed gracefully from his midair theatrics. He was walking toward Mass as soon as a heel touched the rooftop, and he only walked a couple steps before rolling spontaneously to the black armored super. It was to help him dodge the bullets that were sure to keep raining. All through his approach, he was giving some short mechanical barks, words quickly spat out at a frequency too low for the bugs to pick up, instead just vibrating them. The metal suit beneath them, though, would vibrate at about the right frequency to pass the sound through to the owner. They were accompanied by gestures, one at the suit's scratches and dents left by the bullets that had hit him. The other was a wild motion that was mocking the sniper, mock waving around guns. It was like he was having a funny conversation more than anything else.
