Shiro tower was lost. That much was apparent from back here, but the Agents of L.O.V.E confirmed it. Judging from how the dragon possessed different types of machines, Zenith wanted to say that this development was not too surprising. Of course, she didn't wake up this morning expecting to punch a building to death.
Questions of whether or not an inanimate object could even die would have to wait until later. Zenith leapt from the rooftops of one building to another. Once she reached the outer circle of infected buildings, once larger jump sent her flying towards the tower. The basic idea of this tactical maneuver was to crash into Shiro Tower feet first, and dropkick the thing at full force.

Siren smiled at Sanduleak's first comment, and at the fact that his mask was pink. Definitely a softer shade but still. Why was he so embarrassed? Was it her costume? Nah it couldn't be since thats what he saw her in the most. Had Geata told him about what happened that morning? Maybe but when would the portal master have the time? The building beneath them lurched and buckled as the dragon somewhat emerged. Tentacles? What was this, an ecchi anime?
Her gaze was drawn to the Horizons building. She should have known it would be involved somehow. Sandy's comment about her safety drew her attention back to him.
"Hey if a jump saving a close friend's life is how I die then that's better then becoming a thrall. Stay safe Sanduleak, a lot of people would be sad if you died too."
With that she ran towards the Horizons building. She situated herself on a precarious ledge and took a deep breath. As she exhaled, the resounding screech tore up vines, windows and walls. Debris flew off in different directions, thrown by her voice. She only hoped she didn't hit anyone with anything indirectly.

“Yeah, no problem.” Blue Jay had responded distractedly to PD’s thanks. Admittedly, the majority of his focus was taken by the metamorphosis the city was going under. It seemed the moment of respite was just a ploy on the dragon’s part so it could allot time to thoroughly explain how zombies were but a party trick in the face of its true power. Blue Jay felt like he was witnessing a long villainous monologue the dragon had been giving on for some time now, but everyone was just barely starting to take notice of.
He was discerning the best place to attack when PD said something and then jumped off the edge of the building. Even he could tell that was probably a bad call, jumping off ledges, but by the time he realized it was happening, it had already happened. He’d… have to leave that one up to the Plague Doctor.
Blue Jay was not lonely for long, however, as he was joined by yet another ex-teammate. The best course of action, of course, was to pretend like there was no problem in relation to allyships whatsoever, even if Carl’s tone suggested otherwise. Blue Jay chose to focus instead on the numerous hims, actually, that appeared out of nowhere.
“Got it, Emperor Carl.” He said, trying to mask his confusion. The last dragon had attacked them with its internal organs; compared to that, a whole bunch of hims to command made as much sense as gravity.
Blue Jay turned to face his (slash Carl’s) army, and commanded, “Try to keep people from being hit from stuff that looks dangerous.”
And so Blue Jays lacking any sense of self preservation or weight on their longevity went out to take full advantage of these facts by taking hits in others’ place (bringing Carl’s ulterior motives into full fruition). Blue Jay Prime tried not to think about how this was the second dragon attack in a row for this to happen.

Toko began quickly scoping out targets and decided he didn't have the destructive power to compare to some of the other supers destroying buildings and settled for a more supportive role.
"Hades' shadow should take care of the buildings at least"
Taking then releasing a breath before each shot, Toko began to surround the side buildings in shots that sprouted...flowers. After a few seconds they began to release a black gas that was almost like pure darkness, swirling around the buildings and trapping them in a spherical cloud of it.

The buildings were alive. After living with a mostly slime-filled body for so long, Arcanum was used to dealing with weird, cartoon physics but man. How did a flower manage to turn a whole building into a zombie? Even if this thing was a dragon that wanted to kill them, she had to admit, that was impressive.
Of course, now they were all basically fighting a bunch of giant monsters straight out of a Super Sentai episode, and that sucked. Worst of all, more of those damned spores were being spread around like the plague. Who knew what would happen if they left those things alone and fought off the giant skyscrapers? Maybe it would take over the other buildings or--even worse--the other supers? Arcanum didn't enjoy fighting most of these guys when they were (almost) sane. Dealing with a bunch of rage-fueled plant hybrids would be an actual nightmare scenario.
She couldn't stop the spores already in the air, but there were other ways to contribute. Besides, killing the existing ones wouldn't matter if their spawners were still active. The dragon would just spew out a new batch.
The generators might be spread out across the district, but so was Arcanum. The clone army was able to cover a lot of ground in a short time, and eventually found some of the death flowers spouting their nonsense. From there it was easy; Arcanum manipulated the surrounding area to literally cut off the flower from the roots.

Solomon was rushing to complete his spells. The dragon’s respite had allotted some much needed time, but it was time that needed to be devoted to his powers in place of talking. He’d spent it atop his current rooftop, glad he’d chosen a high vantage point to begin, and listening to the various chatter over the Rein intercom. A thick storm had grown above, likely courtesy of Fleet. Good; he’d hoped for the weather manipulator to play his hand.
But what he was preparing for that would take a while longer still. Since such methods had worked well before, Solomon had been building another fear spell to deal with the remaining thralls. With the final word, the spell spread silently out, epicentered around him. If the thralls were supposed to be frightening, they would have nothing on the dark abominations that the supers of the city would appear to twist into before their eyes; demons of insurmountable power, whom even approaching was signing to one’s death. It was that belief that kept the illusion going, so he was lucky in that the supers could generally back up such an appearance, to at least some degree; he’d tried casting this on cats and pigeons in the past to short-lived, albeit amusing, results.
Content, he allowed a moment to turn to his sister. “Indeed. We’re best off keeping our distance; it’s hard to tell what it’s still capable of.” He mused absently.

As Anonymous stood and watch the sight happen before him; the ground once again rumble as roots after roots started to wrap themselves around the building in the downtown area. Some of the big building started to change in a similar way as the mechanical thralls that he saw going around before they got destroy by the other supers. Soon enough he can see three prominent building that were completely consumed by those roots: the Horizon, the Gunstig Center, and of course the Shiro Tower. Wonder if anyone of the unpowers got trap inside that supposed sanctuary and are now become those thralls under the dragon’s control?
“Well, if that was the case, guess there’s not much point asking the other to stay away form the building anymore.”
The dragon is still hidden somewhere underground, so in order for him to get into its thought, he need to find a way to get below ground. The building that were enveloped by these roots and such much have a way down below, otherwise there’s no reason to fortify the place like this. These spores that the dragon emmited quite intruige Anonymous a little because of their mind-controlling power. If he can get closer to the source of it, perhaps he can get a small sample of it in order to see how they work. Who know, he might even be able to change its property so that it doesn’t mutated people, but still retain their mind-controlling ability.
So Anonymous headed to the closest building to his location; the spikes does hindered his progress a little, but since they stop coming out of the street he doesn’t have to worry about being impale by one. Pulling out more of those vials, he threw them right into the window of the Horzion building. If there’re still any thralls present inside that building, perhaps the volatile gas might be enough to clear them out in order for him to find a way down below ground. It is quite an unlikely plan, but it’s not like he can do anything else.

It seems that the dragon decide to not give them much of a breathing room at all. The whole downtown area are now started to become like a forest with all those vines crawling around the building. From the look up here, Giza can tell there’re three building where the vines are the most concentrated at. The worst one is the Horizons Building, and it’s standing right in the epicenter of where those spikes from earlier came from. If he has to guess, that must be where the dragon is located, or at least close to it.
He turned and saw Aurora started to use her power to create a hole on the pavement below her feet. She might be onto something: since he hasn’t seen the dragon out in the open, perhaps it is hidden somewhere below ground. Since the dragon decided to make the Horizons Building to be the worst among the twisted landscape in downtown, it might have some significant point to it all.
He turned to Balance only to see her already headed toward a different building with her blade in hand. Hopefully she took the first aid kit with her, considering the short amount of time she might not have enough time to deal with her injuries yet. Since she got the other building handle, Giza better keep his attention at the Horizons Building; however he doesn’t want to go too far from Aurora in case she needs his help.
So he snapped his finger and started to move his hand into a large circular formation. The power he concentrated started to ignite the air around him, creating a huge ring of fire. Staying close by to where Aurora is digging through, he aimed the ring of fire straight at the Horizons Building. Since the whole building is completely envelope in those vines, perhaps they’re flammable enough that this can burn away the vines and the spores that they created.

Leaning back, Lust took in Limen's reaction, reasserting herself somewhat. See? She'd clearly enjoyed it. They all loved it, loved her, and being the beautiful demon that she was, she generously shared herself with them.
As if to answer her thoughts, Envy arrived, just in time to be able to tell what had happened. How wonderfully appropriate. Lust turned, watching her, relishing every word she said- not for the meaning, but for the emotion in them. The other Sin tried to hide it, but she was vulnerable, and Lust preyed on vulnerability, homing in on the slightest signs with the ferocious acuity of a bloodhound. As Envy turned away, the blue-haired girl leaped to her feet, silently stalking towards her jilted admirer, a pink-clad panther closing on a tiny green mouse.
She struck suddenly, without warning, her hand coming down on Envy's head as light as a feather, patting her reassuringly. Two more gentle touches, and then she let her fingers slide back through that long green mane, combing it slowly, affectionately. "Hush, ma chère. You know I don't like it when you cry." Her voice was quiet, innocent, using a gentle tone to wield more power than any forceful command ever could. "You wouldn't want me to get upset with you now, would you?" She rested her hands on Envy's shoulders, massaging them gently, hitting just the right spots, bringing some sense of relief even as she riled up Envy's desire. "Don't go wasting that feeling. Bottle it up. Keep it safe. I'll be coming to collect it." Her hands dropped, and she let one finger trace the length of Envy's spine before finally breaking contact. "Good girl."
She was fast. If Envy chose to turn around, she'd see Lust skipping back towards Limen, blue hair swaying behind her in a perfect trail, somehow still straight and clean even after the battle against the thralls. The Sin took her place beside the brown-haired Pandaemonium girl, now, standing beside her with a smile, supporting her efforts. Limen would find her assault on the Gunstig center going rather well, as doubts and nervousness about the fight dissolved into pure instinct, the animal drive she needed to win.
As for Envy, Lust didn't so much as glance her way. She stood carefully, leaning just slightly towards Limen, the nuances of her posture leaving false hints and indications to the one who might be watching. So cruel. What a naughty girl she was being! She knew someone would be angry at her for this, deep down, and when the time came she would be punished so, so hard for her bad, bad behavior.
She could be patient, when she needed to.

Poppet was glad her brother is here with her; seeing how the rumbling ground started to create those huge spikes all over the street, piercing through her webbing from earlier. If she were to stay down there, those spikes might have pierce through her like nothing. Good thing she take heed of that lady’s warning and get to higher ground before that happen. From the rooftop, she can see the whole downtown area started to shift: the building began to get cover with those vines coming out from the ground below.
Listening to her brother’s warning, Poppet turned to Jessica and gave it a nod. There’re still some thralls wandering around the city that the spikes didn’t managed to take care of. She shouldn’t leave them all alone like that; they might find a way to get up to the rooftop. So to make sure none of them decided to get up here, Poppet and Jessica started to weave a large web, using those spikes as a foundation, and covered the street will those sticky webbing string. Any stranded thralls that were still walking around will soon find themselves trap inside those webbing, hindering their movement completely.

Flying around and scanning the area, HaLOS finally managed to get the result it was looking for. As it has calculated from before, the Shiro Tower is now under the dragon’s completely control, seeing how the whole building is in lock-down along with a bunch of vines crawling all over its walls.
There are still some thralls left walking around the street below; for now HaLOS need to deal with them before it can turn its attention to the dragon’s location. Knowing it is underground is one thing, but the actual location is still a bit mystery. So for the moment, it will let the other supers wandering around the underground for now until they come across with the dragon. Once they have locate the dragon, then HaLOS will switch its target and went down there to deal with the creatures. Besides, dealing with these thralls could help thinning out the protection that the dragon have in case it have to fight the creature.
So with its high-speed flight, HaLOS quickly make its way down near the street level and started to slice and dice the thralls with its plasma blades. Clearing out the spikes could also help improve mobility should the need arrive too.

Envy couldn't help herself from letting out a little squeak as Lust snuck up on her. She was so good at surprising her! The warmth of Lust's skin felt so wonderful. The sound of her voice was enough to distract Envy from the rest of her problems. She relaxed almost immediately. Once she noticed the other Sin start to slip away, she selfishly considered reaching out to stop her. But she moved too slow, which was for the best anyway.
As much as she wanted more, the world was trying to end itself and that was not alright. Envy nodded along in response to archer girl's statement. They had to keep fighting. She had to do better, to earn her reward.
In order to deal as much damage as possible, Envy needed to replace the energy lost earlier. Under normal circumstances, she doubted any of this would've worked. Buildings aren't supposed to be alive and don't have the right kind of energy for her to drain. But a plant dragon? She could easily feed off the life-force used to animate the tower.
As the energy transferred away from the building, the sphere hovering in front of Envy grew steadily larger in size. She was going to knock that tower over, just you wait.

The capacitors Dullahan had used to fuel his depowering salvo earlier in the fight were completely fried. Fortunately, he had backups. A train car filled to the brim with heavy-duty electronics attached itself to the train car with the cannons.
Scaled up to this size, the beam had no issues whatsoever firing through most structural materials. Dullahan aimed his salvo through the rooftops surrounding the supers' current positions. Hopefully, it would give them some safe pathways across the battlefield. He was very curious to see whether the beam he had designed for disabling supers would be able to repel a dragon's influence from inanimate objects.

As the supers rushed in to find and destroy the body of the dragon itself, battle was joined once again. This time, however, it was on the dragon's terms.
The dragon had been watching carefully to see who the most dangerous thorns in its side would be. More spikes suddenly grew out of the tips of the spikes atop the buildings, then more spikes began growing out of those spikes. They grew with such speed that they shattered through the light bridge Sanduleak had created, then they began growing to the side in order to seek Sanduleak himself. Slowed by the poison he was hit by earlier in the battle, Sanduleak would have a hard time avoiding being pinned. Fortunately, Plague Doctor, Ophiuchus, and Toko were there to support, while Dullahan's depowering artillery caused the spikes to grow brittle and shatter.
Meanwhile, Seraphim was able to detect the swarm of thralls moving against her in time to defend herself. But although her power revealed the thralls' presence, it didn't reveal their true purpose: to distract her and force her further away from her allies. Although Bloodbath, HaLOS, Poppet, Rainfall, Solomon, Sin Eater, and Wrath were all there to join the fight, it wasn't enough to break through. Even as they cut the remaining thralls down by the dozen, those thralls served their purpose of ensuring that Seraphim wouldn't be able to bring her knowledge of dragon countermeasures to bear elsewhere in the fight.
Once the other supers began to turn their attention on the larger buildings, the dragon made its next move. It had been watching not only for the identities of the most dangerous supers, but also for the methods the supers preferred to use in general. And while the supers had been busy cutting down thralls, the dragon had prepared itself well.
A subsonic pulse hummed through the body of everyone left in the city, strongest near the Gunstig Center. The dragon had turned the building into an enormous sensory organ, and it used this to obtain a perfect map of the battlefield. Although Big Martin and Limen did their best to dismantle the enormous biological machinery, its scale was simply too large for them to make much of a dent. Gluttony had more luck with his great might, but even then it was a losing battle. Across the city, the dragon's forces suddenly seemed to be able to avoid every trap that was set for them.
Then more thralls began pouring from the Shiro Tower, well-armored but still sleek and mobile. These were the dragon's elite forces, held in reserve until they could be of the most use. They were extremely durable, shrugging off L.O.V.E.'s gunfire and Balance's blade with equal ease. For a moment, it seemed that Hivemind might be able to keep them contained with his bugs, but then the first pulse from the Gunstig Center arrived, and the elite thralls deftly evaded capture and began leaping across the rooftops to join the fight elsewhere. Some headed for the Gunstig Center, powering through Azoth's fireballs as they came to the structure's defense. Others joined the battle among the smaller buildings, shrugging off Plague Doctor's and Wrath's attacks.
The corruption of the Horizons Building was only getting deeper. And the deeper it grew, the greater the control the dragon had over the rest of the city as well. Not only did the thralls begin responding to threats even more quickly, but the dragon's ability to grow spikes and perform other modifications of the terrain also grew faster. Pride found doors melting into the walls at every turn, sealing off his path, while Tricky found that the Gunstig Center's tracking of his position was allowing the Horizons Building to fortify itself in advance of his pathway. The corruption overwrote materials' basic chemical properties, causing Giza's fire to sputter out rather than catch the vines aflame. Hooded Siren's brute force sonic blasts seemed to be showing some progress in making entirely new doorways into the place, but in the meantime, the dragon's influence continued to spread and deepen. Geata found that the vines were regrowing as fast as his portals could cut them, and while Zenith's attacks on the structure of the Shiro Tower took out chunks of material, they also revealed that the building was being held up by the dragon's power itself, in complete defiance of gravity.
Down below, the supers were digging for the dragon's roots. The flow of the battle up above was making it difficult. The corrupted earth resisted Aurora's Disicio's power somewhat, but the effect wasn't nearly strong enough to prevent great swathes of vines from being exposed, and Unhallow could destroy clusters simply by standing near them. The problem was that the progress was slow, and made slower by the efforts of the towers above. The influence spreading from the Horizons building was allowing the roots to twist and turn to avoid being attacked by Lobisomem or grabbed by Fleet. Arcanum's ability was well-suited to destroying the vines en masse, but the majority of the elite thralls from the Shiro Tower arrived before she could really get started and made it their personal mission to intercept and harass her clones.
With the supers threatening to disable the spore generators entirely, they quickly began spewing their accumulated stockpile of spores all over the battlefield. In the chaos of the battle, the real Blue Jay (rather than one of the many clone copies created by Carl) found himself right in the middle of one of the clouds. This close to the dragon's main body, the spores' influence was even stronger. A trail of spores followed Blue Jay as he emerged from the cloud, and that trail continued to emanate from him as he sped across the battlefield. His body had been colonized.
Meanwhile, as the arrows infused by Nemesis's power hit the Shiro Tower, she felt a resonance from within. The building's security system had been taken over by the dragon, locked up entirely - not just to keep people out, but to keep them in. All indications were that a large number of civilians who had taken shelter inside were being held by the dragon. If they had only gone there after the attack started, it still might be possible to rescue them. In fact, with Nemesis's power, she could do it singlehandedly. But for a flood of fleeing civilians to emerge now would create chaos that could only work to the dragon's advantage...
Fortunately, the dragon's main body had been found. As Anonymous's gas spread through the Horizons Building, his power picked up an agitated response that didn't match the brainwaves produced by the thralls. The vines reaching through the Horions Building were part of the dragon's peripheral nervous system, and that meant that the dragon's brain itself would have to be somewhere close below. Although the dragon's defense was a mighty one, its time still seemed to be running out.
