In contrast with the previous dragon, this one had simply whittled away in its last moments, a comparatively pathetic ending to the battle and its very existence. As Titan ripped out the blossom, he watched it turn into dust while it fell apart in his hands. The rain cleaned his chalk stained hands and the giant was left holding nothing. The deed was done, they had defeated the dragon. Shrinking down, Titan went about assessing the aftermath of the battle. The first thing that came to mind was the body count. How many people had that dragon warped and twisted? How many had to be put down like a horde of rabid dogs? What disturbed Titan most of all was the possibility that they were aware of everything. The very thought made killing the dragon all over again a very satisfying prospect. He wondered if the dragons felt pain. If so, he'd make sure to take it slow, so that they felt every second of it. Titan continued to survey the battleground, the former workplaces and homes of the innocent people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He wondered how much more this city could take. While the men in their ivory tower allowed such things to happen, Emerald City was surely going to fall, no matter how hard any of them fought. Which was why Titan needed to be stronger, needed to push himself beyond any perceived limitations he had to truly become worthy of defending this city. Perhaps he needed to do what he feared most: lose control. Blue Jay
