For someone that liked to claim to be her friend, Limen was never around when she was needed. There was no way it was unintentional either, it was all far too convenient. There was a word for people that hung around people like Aurora claiming to be close to them, trying to get the benefits of being friendly with them, but mysteriously disappearing any time they were needed and 'friend' wasn't it. Aurora had been wanting to talk to her for some time now, and she expected that Limen knew that and knew it wouldn't be a pleasant conversation. Eventually, she managed to catch up to her, and only hoped that the promise of first dibs on a wide variety of sweets would be enough to get Limen into her office.
Aurora scheduled the meeting for early morning the day after the renovations on the new base were complete. She intended to celebrate with everyone to an extent, to at least have something commemorating the moment and to show her face to all her members. With how often she was buried in work she figured it would be appreciated. Because of that, she acquired a large variety of sweets, from cakes to pies to fruit to ice cream. From chocolate to cinnamon, vanilla to strawberry and everything in between. Her power meant she didn't have to be choosy when grabbing things, so she just took whatever was there. None of it was cheap either, and her power would keep it fresh until it was ready to be served. Limen would get to choose first, provided she showed up and didn't bail in the middle of the meeting. The only condition was that she needed to save some for everyone else, but considering how much that was, Aurora didn't think that was too big of a demand. The food would be safely stored in her aurora and would be until the meeting ended. She somehow doubted that Limen would think she was lying.
How Limen entered didn't matter. She could save the lecture on using the door until the very end if she didn't use the door, but as long as she didn't break any windows Aurora wasn't going to complain just yet. She wouldn't even do more than twitch her eyebrows if she showed up late, at least at first. She couldn't let herself get distracted from the main topic, it was too important. Aurora stayed seated at her desk with her arms folded across her chest and her legs crossed at the knee.
"Sit." She motioned to chairs on the other side of her desk. "I have a lot to do, so I'll get right to the point. Stop using Pandaemonium's name to extort stuff out of people. I don't care if it's something as harmless as ice cream or fancy meat, stop immediately. These are not the kind of tactics I want the new Pandaemonium to be known for."

Aurora had invited Limen over for cake.
Maybe technically it was more Aurora had bribed her to come over and have a serious talk with her (because there were no talks with Aurora that were not serious talks), but that’s how Limen was going to see it. And for once, she wasn’t going to be late.
Limen opened the door to Aurora’s office a whole twelve seconds before she was expected to be there. Regardless of bribery, she would’ve showed up - Aurora had personally asked her for a chat, after all, couldn’t miss that - but she had to pay thanks to their great and benevolent leader for offerings of sweets somehow. She didn’t bother to knock, and was beaten to the punch for a pseudo-greeting. Good news was, by the look of Aurora’s aurora and Aurora’s face, she was being truthful about the colored cloud’s sugar content. Gestured to Chair in the Center was chosen to be her seat, and after her bow was slipped over her shoulder and hung on the chair’s head, she took it. Hands in her sweatshirt pockets, slouched, she settled in as Aurora got right to it.
“‘Kay.” Limen said cheerfully. “So then I’ll just go back to taking and breaking things that take my fancy, and skip the step of gaining anything long-term from it.” She leaned back in the chair so that only two legs kept it on the ground and rested her arms behind her head. “Works for me.”
She knew this was a decently far cry from the last time they’d chatted on this subject - Limen had agreed that exhorting things from people was indeed bad, because of course it was, it was illegal - and had even said she wouldn’t do it again and had gone on to do it again the next week. But, situations had changed since then. If Aurora really didn’t want her doing it - actually wanted her to stop, wasn’t just mildly miffed and offering a knee-jerk reaction - her last good reason to be doing so was gone.
“Should I go tell the ice cream factory to stop sending us sweets? And the restaurant chain to stop accepting our services and delivering the bacon? And that dairy import company to cut the milk and cheese supply? And those LED guys to stop sending the boxes of weird colored light bulbs? And that pottery company to stop sending cups, plates, and bowls because some people keep breaking them. And the orchards to stop sending us apples, cherries, and those great cardboard boxes? Oh, and the fishing company to stop sending us fish and lending us their boats so we can catch our own? One of the unpowereds caught a 90-pound halibut the other day. Swear by the look on his face, you’d’ve thought he’d reeled in a mermaid.” Limen chuckled. “I’ll also cut plans to go say hi to that company HQ that runs all those huge chicken farms in other parts of the country. Er, I’ll leave out the bit about wanting their eggs and bird biceps.”

Aurora wasn't surprised she showed up, but she was surprised that she showed up on time and actually sat down. For once, she looked content, at least until Limen started talking. Normally agreeing with her would be a good thing. However, this was Limen and the fact that she agreed with so little resistance left Aurora suspicious. The way she continued left Aurora even more suspicious. She was agreeing to stop, yet still felt the need to push her reasons at the same time? It was like she was trying to point out why stopping was a terrible idea in the most passive-aggressive way possible and it was irritating. Her expression flattened and one of her eyebrows started to twitch.
"That's not going to make me materialize the sweets any faster Limen. But yes, yes you should contact them and tell them to stop sending us stuff as soon as you possibly can." She folded her hands in front of her face. "I've been trying to eliminate the organized crime in the area. Even if Pandaemonium technically qualifies, I want to be different. I don't want to replace the people I'm trying to destroy.
"I've been trying to move away from stealing too. I can't create a society like that. Hell, I wouldn't have to at all if the people running the stores would just sell their goods to me, but I'm consistently refused service," Aurora sighed. "As long as you hit acceptable targets I won't stop you."
The distaste in her voice was obvious, but that wasn't a battle worth fighting. It wasn't the same thing as demanding goods in exchange for basically being 'safe' from anything Pandaemonium might do. She didn't want to be the new mafia, and she didn't want people to think she could be bought. Limen going in there on her own, or possibly with a few friends, didn't contribute to that like effectively demanding protection money did.

No, she guessed talking wouldn’t make her materialize the sweets any faster, but her question of potential exceptions had been answered, which meant time saved later for eating cake and showing up at various businesses to spread the good news. The looks on the big wigs’ faces would be alone worth it. She contemplated asking Geata along for the sake of an entrance and a fellow witness to the shocked suits. Among other things; Limen’s gaze moved downwards and distant, and she rested her hand so her thumb was under her chin and her index rested upwards against her nose.
“I could probably take care of most of those this week,” she thought aloud, “though the lightbulb boss is on vacation in Europe, so said him last time we chatted, so I’ll have to wait on a plane for that one. Or nab his numbers from one of his execs. Oh, by the way,” she looked up suddenly at Aurora, “you’re probably going to hear a lot of complaints from the other members. The ice cream’s been pretty popular in particular.” She was speaking innocently, like a child pointing out that a person’s sweater was, in fact, quite ugly. She thought a few seconds longer.
“Oh,” she spoke up again, “what should I do if they turn me down? See if I’d been paying protection food to the faction most known for wrecking businesses and stealing profits in one form or another and suddenly they showed up saying to stop it, my first assumption was I was going to be coming into a battlefield the next morning because that was the red faction’s evil plan all along or because some of the lower levels don’t agree with the sudden decrease in skim milk and decided to take matters into their own hands. Even if the first’s not true and the second probably isn’t hopefully true, they’re going to believe me the day they sell you the products.
Limen's smile twisted upwards at the edges. “You could have someone drop off a pile of cash at their warehouse office. Then you are, in fact, buying their goods. Hell, if they don’t take that money, I could just hack their bank accounts and transfer funds. Can’t refuse computer numbers.”
She was doing a bad job of not talking for cake, but something else had occurred to her. If she’d gone this far without shutting up, might as well go all the way.
“Speaking of which, what’re you going to do when you run out of money?”

"If you can hack bank accounts you can find some corporate asshole's phone number, stop pretending like this is hard. If you're worried about their reaction, I can make time to go with you and explain the situation. I don't care how they feel about it, sending me good is not going to protect them from me and I am not going to take their goods under false pretenses like that no matter how much it helps me. Just sending them money won't change that, and I don't want to buy that many luxury goods right now anyway. We don't need ice cream, and the ones that do can get a fucking job. If they can't get a legitimate one they can ask me, there's no excuse. I spent the last two years accumulating money for this. Even with triple my expected spending increases I should have enough to last a year or two without even touching the money I set aside for grabbing real estate."
Aurora sighed again and started rubbing her temples. Limen was talking like she had no idea what she was doing, but it was Limen that had no idea what she was causing here. Aurora was well aware of how badly a lot of people would take this, and that the companies would likely face a lot of backlash for it. It was more work that she was going to have to deal with because Limen ran off on her own to do something stupid.
"Yes, I'm well aware of how much extra work you're creating for me, that changes nothing. I had been trying to manage peoples' expectations when I first took over. We are inevitably going to have less than we have now because I'm competing with 2000 years of civilization and I can't do it. It will take time for us to build up or own infrastructure and it will take time for people to build everything that we have now. I'm still focusing on the things we need just to survive, I don't have time to focus on things like ice cream or colored lights or dishes. Which means people aren't going to have them, and because they have them now, there's going to be problems. This is exactly why I told you to stop the first time because now it's yet another thing I have to worry about on top of everything else I'm doing."
Her eyes perked up again and she looked directly at Limen. "We're all supposed to be a team now even if I let people have a large degree of autonomy. That means you can't just run off and do things on your own anymore. If you didn't want to work with me why the hell did you even bother pushing me into doing this in the first place? You should have stuck with the guy that didn't give a shit about anyone or anything."

Limen snorted. “Yes, please come with me. I would love to see their reactions to the leader of Pandaemonium showing up in person. Plus, then I could make the story ‘great leader Aurora proves to big business owners she doesn’t need their bullshit’.” Laughing or not, she was entirely serious. Having Aurora along seemed great. Perhaps they could go out for non-exhorted burgers or donuts afterwards.
The amount of money Aurora inferred was both surprising and pretty well exactly what Limen would think. The woman robbed banks - of course she probably had enough money to replace all the food in the Pandaemonium kitchen with wads of hundreds. Props on wanting to spend it on building infrastructure. How she was going to get the land or know-how for all that, Limen hadn’t the slightest besides stealing deeds and people, but she was game. Sounded like a hell of a time.
The thought of helping Aurora kick society in the shins by building super architecture on previously unpowered land was alone enough to put and keep a wide grin on her face, even if the topic she actually wanted to comment on was a bit more serious.
“I am working for you. Why’d you think I went exhorting in the first place?” Limen chuckled, grinning and rocking the chair back to the edge of what it considered a comfortable position with gravity. “I can’t eat unlimited ice cream and meat, and I can keep my own stores stocked by just stalking store shipments. I’m not exactly vying for my own power here either. I did it ‘cause it eases costs on you, saves time stealing, and helps make your large mob base because hey you’ve got free ice cream so therefore you must be great, because only great people have free ice cream.” Limen shrugged. “But if it didn’t work, it didn’t work. Oh well, I’ll go clean up my mess.”
“I think you’re missing a very point of information here, Aurora.” Limen’s smile had been slowly softening, and she let out a sigh. “I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it. I’ve got your back. I’ll help you however you need, lack of running off opportunities or not. Death threat or not. Tell me what you need done, and I’ll do it.” She paused. “As long as it’s not bulk hours of manual labour. When there’s other stuff to take care of. You’ve got gangs for that.”

"I should be able to make time at around 8:00 AM tomorrow. Meet me outside, and don't be late. I want to get this over with."
At least then it'd be done and she could finally put this whole debacle behind her, even if it would immediately replace itself with people complaining about the lack of ice cream in the freezer. Just thinking about it made her more tired than she already was.
The rest of what Limen had to say was met with only skepticism. For a moment, Aurora only stared at Limen blinking slowly a few times. It was times like this that Aurora had trouble deciding if Limen was a complete idiot or brilliant. She leaned towards the latter just because it was easy to pretend to be stupid to avoid responsibility and to appear less threatening. At this point, Aurora couldn't trust anything she said. She knew that Limen would say whatever was convenient or whatever would get people to do what she wanted, and was often convincing about it. This felt like another one of those things. The fact that she was still trying to avoid any kind of responsibility made Aurora's eyebrow twitch again.
"Then why the hell didn't you stop when I told you to stop? And why are you conveniently never around when I actually need something? That manual labor you're dismissing is important. All of this is going to be completely pointless if none of us actually build anything!"

Limen clapped her hands together. “Deal, I’ll be there with breakfast burritos.” On time, again. Couldn’t miss an opportunity like this because she got distracted by something shiny on the way.
She’d have to get into some logs tonight and check to see which company leaders came in at eight and which didn’t show up later, and who was going to be there at all. It’d suck to get all that way, past the peeved secretary, late elevators, and spinning doors into the 50th story dark wood executive office for the guy they were looking for to be an hour still in bed. Limen would have no problems making herself at home for that while, but she doubted she’d be getting much of Aurora’s time. Best make the most of it.
She also pondered the idea of coming up with a cover story for why this was done. An utter lie, of course, but those were generally the best things to tell the angry underlings wondering where their habit of midnight rocky road strawberry ice cream combo went. Probably would have something to do with Aurora having an epic verbal showdown with the evil corporate leader of the ice cream company who had decided he was entitled to have some mook manpower for protection for all the ice cream he was giving her, and she - taking none of his shit - punched him in the face and declared if her good people would be forced to work for such an oppressive ice cream overlord, even ice cream wasn't worth it and the company didn’t deserve the honor to give their goods to the faction. Come up with a couple variations with the main points in tact and send it on its way. If she told it loudly enough to loud enough people, it would spread.
The consideration shifted to Aurora’s questions, which, unusually, got several seconds of silence before their answer. “Because I wanted to make sure stuff had time to actually play out before you decided if it was a good or bad idea. Can be kinda hard to tell with these things, especially if you’re a new leader.” Limen said candidly. “And depends on the something. I find I’m pretty easy to come across if you need electrics set up, or some place robbed, or some weapon prices negotiated with crabby black market salesmen, et cetera. Also," she rocked the chair again, bringing her hands back behind her head, "to be frank, I've been somewhat worried about you attacking me. Retribution and all that. Call me a hypocrite but if you seriously tried, you could seriously hurt me and there's not anything I could do about it. Could probably do it with minimal effort, actually." She hummed. A little more cheerfully, she continued, "The floor we’re standing on right now is proof manual labor’s important, but anyone can do that and you’ve got a heck of a lot of anyones at your disposal right now. I’m more useful doing other stuff. So are a lot of your supers. Also, I think it’s boring. Mostly I think it’s boring."

"So you just think I'm incompetent and that you somehow know how to run my organization better than I do." Aurora paused for a moment, looking out the window while her fury simmered before turning her attention back to Limen. "I had to kill someone to achieve this," despite her anger, her tone was somber. "I wouldn't have gone through with it if I didn't at least know what I wanted to accomplish with it, and how I wanted it to function. It's not something I take lightly."
As infuriating as that part was, the rest of what Limen had to say made her anger boil over. Aurora shot up out of her chair, knocking it over from the sudden movement. She slammed her hands on her desk and hunched over it once her hands were firmly on its surface. Any sadness and discomfort from the previous topic was gone, leaving only a glare.
"What the hell is wrong with you? There should be absolutely no reason to be afraid of me. My retribution is reserved only for people who deserve it. If you know you're doing something wrong, then don't fucking do it!"
Aurora turned around, slamming her fist on the side of her desk this time, in order to pick up her chair and set it upright so she could sit in it again. With the outburst done, she seemed a bit more calm, though no less irritated. She leaned back in her chair, resting one foot on the other knee, resting her elbow on one of the arms and then her head on her hand.
"And people wonder why I never fucking sleep. Do you expect me to have any sympathy for people that don't want to do boring tasks? It doesn't change that they need to get done. Do you know who ends up doing them when no one else is willing? It's me. I can't just let them not get done if I want to accomplish anything, so I end up working until my fingers bleed and then I have to go handle something else on top of everything else I have to fucking manage. And you expect me to give a shit that some of the work just isn't all that interesting? That's not what working with someone is, that's just doing whatever the hell you want and then pretending you're being useful because sometimes it benefits other people. All of you are so god damn useless and still expect the results of what you're not willing to do because it's just too much work."

Limen had to suppress a laugh. What a rare sight, to get a personal rage outburst from Aurora. She was honored. It was loud enough she wondered if anyone downstairs had heard, and if they had, if they cared. Probably not. Limen felt about the same way. Her eyes remained locked on Aurora unwaveringly throughout, her grin growing in tandem with Aurora’s volume and swear count.
Limen tilted her head to the side, and lazily rose her index finger from where her hand currently was. “You see, Aurora, I appear to have a keenness for doing everything that is deemed and termed wrong. Wouldn’t be here if I didn’t. You’re not my mom, and if you think you’re my law, I do a shit job at following that too. I’ve come to find my actions tend to lead to consequences, and so I’m scared of the police trying to arrest me and I’m scared you’re going to attack me. Not necessarily going to make me stop, obviously, and that’s probably the problem there, but I like to err on the side of caution. Only way I’ve lived this long.”
Limen paused, but not for long enough for anything to be interjected. “These words you’re putting in my mouth are delicious. But just because you know what you want to do doesn't mean you have an inkling of how to do it. Just because you have plans on how to do the thing doesn’t mean those plans’ll work in the real world. I’ll tell you, I think I’ll have this great idea that goes all perfectly in my head, and then when I put it into action I end up in some lake electrocuting myself. How much experience leading do you actually have, Death Skittles? I’m not calling you an incompetent leader, but just looking at how much you’re working yourself proves you are not a perfect one. You’re only proving my point as to why I wanted to wait and see how it panned out.” Limen said with a laugh. “Maybe you think you don’t need outside viewpoints to help you run your faction, but whatever the mooks think, you’re not an omnipresent being. You will miss things, forget things, and not see some means of optimisation. Everyone does this. That’s why people work together. It’s completely true that you don’t have to do what other people suggest, but you should at least listen to them. No king rules alone and remains king for very long.” She crossed her legs smugly. “And now I’ve been relegated to unintentional advisory, I feel fancy.”
The most important bit, though, she saved for last. The legs of the chair dropped abruptly to the ground, and Limen leaned far enough forward she could rest her elbows on Aurora’s desk. Far enough she needed to wrap her feet around the legs of the chair to keep herself from falling forward. Resting her head atop her locked fingers, she gave Aurora a knowing smile.
“I’m your friend, not your minion. It was your choice to try to get all of these things done at an unreasonable pace, not mine. I can help you however much or little as I want and that’s my choice.” The position got uncomfortable quickly, and Limen swapped back for resting her hands behind her head and undue weight on the chair’s back legs. “I’m not the only one with this kind mentality, you probably know. Most of us have something like it. Don’t know what else you were expecting from Pandaemonium. You’re free to try to force us, of course, but there’s a lot of us and only one of you and you aren’t getting sleep. Wish you luck. Instead, you should factor in that you’re not getting as much help as you first thought, and change the rate you’re trying to achieve your goals accordingly. Either that or stop complaining about all the work you have to do. It was entirely your choice to take this position, and it’s entirely your choice to do all of these extra things right now. This is your fault. Stop. Blaming. Us.”

"Then maybe you should think for two fucking seconds before doing something. My retribution is always proportionate to the offense, so you have to really fuck up in order for me to do anything even remotely dangerous. I fail to see how people shouldn't kidnap and tie me up is somehow unreasonable, or that what will happen if they try isn't obvious. Stop being an idiot, you're not fooling anyone."
Aurora considered shouting in her face the moment she said something obviously ridiculous, but that would defeat the purpose of all this. Instead, her free hand gripped her chair as hard as possible to at least direct the feelings somewhere. This whole conversation was ridiculous. It should have ended a long time ago, but Limen kept wanting to push things as though saying she shouldn't go off on her own and ruin everything was this unreasonable thing and like Limen had any idea what was even going on anymore. It was laughable. Even worse, she kept trying to claim she wasn't saying certain things and then went and listed off exactly what Aurora said she was saying in different words. Aurora chewed on her lower lip while she waited for Limen to finish, then took a deep breath. This would be easy to tear apart, there was no need to get hysterical.
"Then talk to me," she was still raising her voice, and her tone was firm. "I do listen to what people have to say, even the really fucking stupid things. I put a great deal of effort into knowing what people are doing, what they need, and what they're doing. Hell, people started outright reporting to me before I even took over Pandaemonium! None of this is new, and based on what other people say, I'm the only one that actually takes the time to do this; I'm the only one that even knows what everyone is doing. I don't care about what you do for yourself, but if you want to do something big with in the organization come find me first. I'll at least listen to peoples' cases, I always have. That way we can come to a decision that's within what I want Pandaemonium to be; we can come to the most effective conclusion and I can determine who else should be working on this; we can make sure no one is stepping on anyone else's toes or that it's not already being worked on. Don't just unilaterally make a decision. You didn't bother talking to me about any of this! Even when I went to talk to you, you just blew me off, lied to me, and continued as though I was never even there. And you're lecturing me about not listening to people? Don't make me laugh.
"I'm not blaming anyone. Why the hell would I blame anyone for my own decisions? But I can't just slow down. Eventually, I'm going to go into battle against a dragon and I'm not going to come back. I have to make sure everything is ready for that moment, and I'm not going to leave anything unfinished." Aurora scoffed. "This entire situation is so fucking ridiculous and it pisses me off. You're not even the first person that's told me I need to rely on other people when I have literally just said that I am in desperate need of help. If I intended to enslave everyone I'd be doing a better job. The fact that I don't want to do that is exactly why I have to pick up all the slack myself. It's fucking impossible to get you deadbeats to do anything unglamorous. I'm not surprised, just frustrated. We're not going to be able to mooch off of people forever, we can't survive off of stealing from people. Eventually they're going to leave, and we have to be prepared for that. We're going to have to produce things ourselves, but no one is even willing to make the slightest sacrifice to make it happen. I already know that all these people that are going to complain about the dwindling ice cream supplies aren't going to do anything to make it on their own. They're not going to try to build the infrastructure we need to churn it. They're not going to help me figure out how to get livestock and the resources necessary to raise them in the city. They're not going to help me figure out how to find the space or the manpower to grow corn or sugar so we can have that. And it pisses me off. It's obvious that I need help and it's obvious that I know I need it. People keep acting like it's not because I'm not asking them to do the things they want to do.
"Stop lying to me."

This snicker she couldn’t suppress. “‘Cause I don’t have to listen to people, I’m Limen. Not the leader of Pandaemonium. I do what I want and I’ll keep doing what I want and you nor anyone else can’t really stop me. I claim full responsibility and know that doing so tends to get me into trouble and it’s completely my fault, but,” Limen shrugged. She didn’t really care. “Though,” she let out a sigh, and her voice lowered and softened. “That’s reasonable. Yeah, if you want me to talk to you first, I can do that. Or at least give you a call or something before I start making my demands at the scene of the crime.”
Limen pulled her feet in to sit cross-legged and the chair dropped back onto the ground, adding again to the ambient noise on the floor below. “You’re getting angry at people because they’re not helping you. That’s what they call ‘blaming’, Sparkle Cloud.” She chuckled, leaning forward with her hands on her ankles. “Sounds like you’re being hit with a bit of reality, mate. People are their own little chaotic beings. Makes them fun to be around, but generally awful in a lot of different ways. That ain’t changing, so deal with it.”
Limen paused again, but only so long as to tap her index finger against her chin. “I think what people mean, and what I mean, is there’s different ways to rely on people. You’ve got the bossing slash delegating work thing going all well and good, but you need to give some of your power and bigger tasks over to other people too. Why don’t you find someone to help you bolster morale and get people working on building stuff? Or someone to take reports from people and distill it down to the important parts, saving you time in working through all of that? Or someone to organize cleaning schedules and routines and make a system that incentivizes getting it done? Give it a try with something small and see what happens.
“And sorry, Aurora, but I’ll stop lying the day I die.”

"Why I keep saying you don't seem to really be interested in being part of the team, or that you don't actually have that much interest in Pandaemonium itself is because you talk like that. You keep trying to lecture me on working with people, so maybe you should take your own advice, even if it means occasionally doing something you don't want to do."
Aurora lifted her head to rub her forehead with the hand it was leaning against. She still couldn't tell if Limen was being serious or if she was just saying stuff to get her to shut up again. It was impossible to tell. After a moment's thought, she decided to go with it for now. Even if Limen was lying, there wasn't much she could do about it. She layed down her reasons for disliking her actions, she explained what she expected and why she should do that, so there was little more she could do than to hope for the best at this point. About the only thing she was willing to fully believe was that Limen would never stop lying.
"I'm not mad at them, I'm frustrated at the situation. I was well aware of how difficult it would be to turn a lawless gang where everyone was only looking out for themselves into an actual organization. That doesn't mean I can't get annoyed with it sometimes. And I see no reason to delegate those things right now. They're not what I need done, I'm not going to pretend like people are being useful when they're not."
Aurora huffed and paused for a moment, still bothered that she wasn't sure if Limen understood what she was saying and if she was really willing to go along with it. Once again, she quickly came to the conclusion that there wasn't anything more she could do. This time, Aurora stood up gently, her chair slowly rolling back behind her as she did, and walked over to one of the windows. Her aurora covered her desk and much of the room. The various sweets she'd been holding onto started spawning on the desk first, and then spread out everywhere because there wasn't nearly enough room on her desk to hold them all. Aurora herself just continued staring outside with her back to Limen.
"Take what you want and get out."
With that done, she started thinking about what she needed to do next. Getting the food downstairs was obviously the next thing, but that didn't require any planning or even much effort on her part. It was what to do after the party that was important. The food smelled good, and she was going to use the gathering as a chance to get some food, it was a little difficult to wait. She was feeling a bit light-headed and tired, but she was used to these feelings by now, even if this one was worse than normal. Before she could think too hard about much else she started seeing black spots, and her legs gave out underneath her. Her head collided with the nearby book case on her way down to the ground. Aurora was only crumpled and motionless for a few moments before she started to pick herself up again while rubbing her head. She couldn't be at her limit yet, there was still too much to do. She had to fight it, as always. She was used to shoving the pain aside and ignoring it, but this might be a problem.

Limen laughed to herself again, but didn’t offer any more riveting counter arguments. Aurora’s last word was a good way to end it, all things considered, and she’d apologized, sort of, Aurora had made what she needed know, and Limen’d made her point. Aurora could make of it what she would, and Limen could probably listen to Aurora. After Geata’s request, she had significantly more reason to do so this go around. She also liked the image of heisting a place and then making everyone wait while she phoned her leader. Chances of her setting up everything and calling Aurora to get the word of approval only once the metaphorical button in hand were a lot higher than contacting her in the planning stages, but she digressed. Aurora had made sweets and there was a box of cookies with her name on it.
As much as Limen liked sweets, she actually couldn’t eat a ton of them without feeling sick. Sure, she’s gladly scarf them down if she had nothing else on hand, but for the rest of the day her aim would be off, she’d miss jumps, and then she’d have other crap to feel on top of the sugar crash. A single box of cookies would last her awhile, and so that’s all she moved to take.
She glanced up at Aurora as she moved the box into her bag - habitually, as if she got her hands on anything boxed, chances were really high it was stolen - with good enough time to make a sports action replay of the woman’s head hitting the bookcase.
“Oi, Aurora-” Whom, for a second, wasn’t moving. Limen’s face dropped, along with her bag, the box of cookies, and the chair. All three hit the ground with various degrees of thrown innards as Limen jumped to her feet and ran to the fallen leader.
She breathed a sigh of relief when Aurora began to pick herself up. Not dead, then, so that was good. She could stop trying to remember that mortician's number. Crouching down beside her, Limen looped an arm under Aurora’s and across her back to help her to her feet.
“I swear, you’re going to kill someone with a heart attack one of these days. Can’t tell if it’d be you or if you’re so adverse to the notion of resting that you’ll chase off death onto someone else.” Limen sighed. “Right-” she grunted.
Rather than helping her back to her chair or wherever, Limen opted for the simpler, less stress on Aurora’s poor legs method of scooping her up princess-style. Already had one arm in place; all she needed to do was quickly bend down and take the legs. Intent from there was to walk over and return her to her chair, seeing as that seemed a little safer than next to a bookcase and window.

For a few moments longer, Aurora was still a little dazed. Her head hurt, her eyes weren't completely in focus, everything sounded muffled and distant, and the rest of her body ached. She didn't consciously notice that someone was helping her up at first, she barely even noticed that she was moving at all, but gradually everything came into place again. The room still smelled good, her eyes focused on the spines of the numerous books on her shelf, and after a moment longer she was even able to read the words. By the time the world made sense again, Limen was already bending over to pick her up, which resulted in a surprised jolt from Aurora.
"Don't touch me!" she tried to push Limen away and get back onto her feet. "I can walk on my own."
She fully intended to thrash until Limen put her down or she fell out of Limen's arms, whichever came first. It was easy to see what dessert she picked because they were littering her floor. Aurora rolled her eyes, picked up the cookies and the box itself with her power, and materialized them on her desk. That would at least mean the cookies were still clean enough to eat, she would not be wasting food over this stupid incident. The remainder of the desserts were absorbed back into her aurora. If Aurora was wrong about her choice, she figured Limen would say something and she needed to keep some of the more frozen foods fresh.
"Now get out, I have places to be."
