As if being with in grabbing distance wasn't enough, Blue Jay insisted on getting even closer despite their warnings. Why? I didn't make any sense! If this beast didn't kill them, then there would be nothing to stop them from getting out of the hole eventually. It was already being eroded fairly quickly, it'd likely take another minute at most. Worse than that, he was trying to pull them away from the creature that was trying to eat them alive while the creature's teeth were still burrowed in their arms. Was he trying to help or rip their arms off? And he was asking for help with this? What were they supposed to do, push off the creature with their shattered limbs? Use the leg that was stuck on something in the hole, even though that was the reason they couldn't pull themselves out in the first place? At this point Unhallow was in enough pain that they couldn't even think straight, let alone articulate a coherent response. He was able to do something though. With a simple command, he was able to get that damn dog to stop biting her. Why he couldn't just do that instead of trying to pull them away as well was beyond Unhallow's understanding. With the creature gone, Unhallow's arms flopped uselessly against the ground, bending in ways that shouldn't be possible.
With the creature out of the way, HaLOS was easily able to pull them out of the ground. The part of Unhallow's armor that was caught on something was torn through as it was forced through the edge of the hole, exposing the area around their right knee. Being held like this was rather unpleasant, but Unhallow knew that the robot really couldn't afford to hold them any other way. Unhallow's power would already interfere with circuitry and would rust metal, so putting them near core systems would be as suicidal as it was for humans. Unhallow dangled limply from their position, breathing heavily as blood flowed down their arms and dripped off their fingertips. Given the creature at least had the decency to not tear their arms off, they weren't bleeding as much as they could be.
"Th-That won't happen!"
HaLOS' comment about Unhallow's power was unfair. That night they were under the influence of both nerve gas and a superpower that put them in a state that would be near impossible to be in otherwise. As distressed as they were, it wasn't anywhere near that level. It took multiple outside influences to get to that level. Even so, they knew exactly what HaLOS meant and didn't protest further as much as they wanted to. It wasn't wrong. If left here too long the same thing would happen, and the police were apparently coming. The fact that they did this much while accomplishing absolutely nothing was embarrassing enough. If Unhallow could have slumped more they would have.
"Y-Yes...I can still walk though, so there's no need for you to continue destroying yourself..."
Their voice sounded staticy, likely as a result of whatever device they used to hide their voice breaking. As much as they would like to be able to just walk out of here, they weren't sure how practical it was. Unhallow was seriously injured and bleeding badly. They weren't even sure if they would make it back to the sanctum in this condition given how slowly they moved even under normal conditions.
