This whole island was a cesspool as far as Eve was concerned. The only reason she continued living on Malachite Isle was because it was just easier to live with her parents than it was to get her own apartment. As much as she hated them, she hated them even more than the island itself, they were easy to live with. They never pried into her business, never touched her stuff, while they would say hello sometimes they didn't mind if she didn't respond and stomped off to do something else, and they had people to take care of all the cooking, cleaning, and other boring tasks that she just didn't want to do. For the time being, it was just easier to live at home.
Unfortunately, it meant she had to deal with obnoxious shit like this. It was almost summer again, which meant there would be this stupid farmer's market thing happening on the island. The idea was that local farmers would come here to sell their supposedly fresh produce, and that buying it would be directly supporting the farmers and local farms. Considering that most of these things weren't even in season at this time of year, the entire premise was dubious to begin with, and the produce was always sold at these ridiculously inflated prices. That's why it was held on Malachite Island: it was the only place with people rich enough to waste their money on unimportant things and lies so they could feel better about themselves and feel like they were doing something important. The worst part was that the entire thing was as loud as it was stupid, and tended to draw large crowds despite how ridiculous the whole thing was, so the whole area was just an unpleasant place to be while it was going on. Worse than that, it was directly on the way back to her house.
The road the market was on was probably the easiest way to get back to her house, but it was not the most direct way. With Eve's ability to hop over fences like they were nothing, and willingness to piss off the neighbors, she actually took a different route to get home most of the time. She went through a small back road and then through a few peoples' nicely fenced back yards. Normally it was a pretty quiet trip, but that event was so loud Eve could barely hear herself think. Nor could she hear that there were other people lurking in the shadows. She didn't even realize there was anything dangerous here until she felt the metal of the barrel of a gun being pressed against the back of her head and someone demanding all of her money.
Eve froze. The person sounded male, not that she could turn around and check. His grip on the gun was shaky and his voice was even shakier. He wasn't just nervous, he was terrified. This was likely an act of desperation and he was likely entirely unprepared for what could happen. He figured the gun would be enough to scare anyone into doing what he wanted. Sadly, he was so on edge that she was sure that if she made any sudden movements that she'd end up with a bullet through her head. The 100 or so dollars she had in her wallet wasn't worth risking that. As much as she still wanted to fight him off on principle, she would have a chance once he tried to run away and the immediate threat of having an extra hole in her skull was gone. In the mean time, Eve slowly raised her hands to show that they were empty, then slowly reached for the pockets of her pants.
"I'm grabbing my wallet. It's in my pocket on the left side."
((You can control the NPC and assume he runs off after getting Eve's money if you want. I just wanted to give people the opportunity to respond at this point if they wanted to.))
