In Emerald City, there are two different types of criminals: either they are supers with the ability to escape captive, or they are low-life powerless thugs who got in a wrong place at a wrong time. Small-time crook would found themselves stuck inside the local jail in the police office, while the more dangerous people would be re-located to the high-max prison located in the Malachite Isle, mimicking the idea of San Francisco’ Alcatraz, believing that placing the prison on an island will make thing hard for inmate to escape. Why in the world would they build it on the island where the most wealthy population of the city live is beyond reason; perhaps it’s to enforce the illusion that they are safe in their home, since there have been no escape ever happen on the location, thus giving the place the nickname of “Fort Knox” because of its impenetrable property.
Well, it was rather unfortunate to inform them that they might receive a black mark in their record of inescapable today. One really shouldn’t mess with the Pandaemonuim, especially if it comes to their unpowered members. After all, the horde needs some extra hands and meat-shield when the supers member decided to pull a scheme to the people of Emerald City. They are a very limited resource, since not a lot of unpowered have faith in the supers in order to work with them. Even the Bulwark has to reach an unconformable compromise with the police, and still they view these dumb vigilantes as a nuisance from time to time.
That, and Giza believed these rich stuck-up people in Malachite Isle need to face with the reality that their silly “paradise” are merely an illusion, that the world is a dangerous place if you place all the most dangerous people into one place and threw away the key. Beside, a little chaos in this island would be a hilarious sight to see.
Breaking in a high-max prison won’t be as simple as pulling the heist at the museum. These prison guards are armed, their weapons are constantly checked to ensure its effectiveness, security cameras are at every corner, and these guards are willing to use deadly forces if push-come to shove. For an unpowered person, this prison break will be mere impossible. That is, unless they have connection to supers organization, and the one who organized the break-out is the most planned ahead of the group. With time of studying the layout of the prison, going in some daily tour of the place, looking and observing every sign and pattern of the guards’ schedule. After all, even Alcatraz wasn’t inescapable as everyone believed, and Fort Knox isn’t build to protect against people with super abilities that can bend reality to their whim.
Giza can get himself inside the prison without detection in order to communicate with the prisoners that he planned to break out, and soon a plan was formed. First, he would need to isolate the prison from contacting with the police. Next, they need to take control over the prison security system in order to obtain weapons for the inmates within. And finally, they need a distraction in order to let the Pandaemonium inmate to get out without trouble, and an escape vehicle isn’t hurt to have either. The distraction would be simple for Giza, and he knew who in the Pandaemonium would be able to get the other part of the plan.
On the date of the planned break-out, Giza got himself inside the prison, cutting off the guard’s communication systems and emergency phone line before he let the inmates know to prepare for what come next. With that, his stage is set; with a snap of his finger, Giza emerged onto the prison’s cafeteria in a plume of smoke, gathering the attention of the guards station in there:
“Good day to you all, gentlemen,” his voiced echoing across the whole prison’s speaker system, “In the name of your truly generous performer of the Pandaemonium, I would like to ask you all one simple question: Are you ready to ROCK?!!”
As if he was timing his speech perfectly, all of the inmates’ cell-doors and handcuffs were disabled, and with a poof of smoke, piles of weapons appeared in the middle of the cafeteria in full view of those inmates.
“Give them hell, boy!!” Giza shouted to all of them before disappeared once again in a swarm of bees. And with that, the entire prison was thrown into pure chaos as the inmates, now armed with weapon, started a huge prison riot against the guards.
---
SCHEME: escape the chaos with the Pandaemonium’s unpowered inmates, and perhaps even let loose some of the dangerous criminals out to the Malachite Isle just for giggle.

The two guards on post in the security control room were having a very bad day. First, Giza appeared in surprisingly good frame in the cafeteria's security camera and began making a stir of things. Then, while they began typing madly away at the controls to do something, alert someone, a small object was flung through a crack opened in the door and knocked against the wall. With a small “pop”, the canister opened and began to spew thick smoke into the room. One of the two security guards was smart enough to see his partner slump over, asleep, on the controls and attempt to make a run for the door. It was a shame, for his efforts were made vain via a heavy metal door to the face. The guard joined his partner in sleep, and Limen strode into the room, wiping her hands with a job well done. She had one last thing to take care of: perhaps thirty minutes later, the guards would awake with hands cuffed to the heavy shelves with their own pairs. A small form of revenge for Limen’s arrested friends.
With more to come. Much more. Limen had been preparing for this ever since she’d heard of Giza’s plan. This was going to be the culmination of the work of more than one coffee-fueled nights, and with Giza spearheading the effort, it was going to be glorious.
For once, Limen was actually wearing a mask. It was the smallest gas mask she could find that would protect her from the knockout gas that, even five minutes after being thrown, was still filling the room with a steady stream of gas. The room was going to be safe for a while now, unless any of the security guards had thought to bring their pocket gas mask with them to work today. Limen strode up to the control panel and casually gave it a couple taps with her brass knuckles, letting a few sparks fly, and jumped back into one of the spinny guard’s chairs. Now she had only wait.
She counted her rotations in the chair. Eight, nine… the panel’s screens flickered, glitched, made a weird noise in its last throes of life, and went out. For good measure, Limen stepped back and shot an arrow through the largest bit of hardware running the thing. Lowering her bow, the arrow exploded, taking out chunks of plastic, metal, and wiring.
Limen spoke into her own and the only actually working communication device system still working in the prison. “Giza, systems are down. Bet we’ve got at least ten minutes before someone up top reboots their computer for the first time in ten years and gets it running again. Till then, I’m going to see if I can’t get me some car keys.”
Limen bid the ancient chunk of machinery a final goodbye. At last the city government would have an excuse to upgrade their computers to something that didn’t run on 95.

For some bizarre reason, the government had decided to build a prison right next to the wealthiest neighborhood in town. Arcanum would've guess the social elite would get together and pay off enough people to prevent this sotuation, perhaps relocating the place to the middle of the desert. Somewhere far away. Unfortunately that did not happen, and now there were a bunch of criminals living on the island right next to everyone else.
Considering the fact that Arcanum herself lived here made complaining about all this a little ironic. She knew plenty of other supervillains in the area, but the two situations felt different enough. Maybe it was the part were these prisoners were stupid enough to get caught. Whatever these unpowered people did to earn a spot in this hellhole was less important than how they failed to get away with it. They deserved to stay here until their sentence ended.
This idea lead to Arcanum breaking into the so-called Fort Knox this evening. Literally slipping through security was easy enough on a normal day, but she wasn't just doing this for fun. She didn't have any intention of helping anyone escape, and only showed up now in order to prevent an ongoing jailbreak. Those Pandaemonium scum were idiotic things for stupid reasons like always, and it was up to Arcanum to stop them. Remembering her recent track record of being a goody-two-shoes, and how it hasn't really worked out lately, she almost didn't bother. They easily outnumbered her, and quality over quantity could only go so far. Still, the idea of backing off out of fear rubbed her the wrong way. She couldn't let them win, not like that.
The design of this prison was confusing, so getting to the main room would take a while longer. Arcanum snaked her way past the useless guards, determined to have her rematch with the idiot magician.

It was pure coincidence that Unhallow noticed there was something going on in this corner of the island today. They always took the back route to stay as out of the way as possible, and as far away from people as possible. That took them to the more remote areas of the island, and while they were careful not to get too close to the prison in order to avoid causing any structural damage to it, their usual path did bring them fairly close to it. Close enough that they caught sight of a certain super wearing a very recognizable mask. Pandaemonium was here and that never meant anything good.
Unhallow followed the super, though he was faster than they were, but given where they were there was little doubt where he was going. Unhallow doubted that the prison held any supers given how easy it was for most supers to break out, but they were under the impression that there were several unpowered people in Pandaemonium. If they remembered correctly. In the end, they weren't quite sure. Regardless of whether it was to save their comrades, or whether it was to cause some trouble and mess up Malachite Isle, Unhallow couldn't let this stand. The hard part was going to be getting inside. Sure, they could probably just break something, but that seemed like it would defeat the purpose, especially given the kind of structural faults they made weren't always obvious.
Unhallow thought for a moment. They didn't feel any signs of out of place vehicles. Either Pandaemonium secured an armored truck on their own and brought it here, or they were going to have to borrow one in order to have any hope of escaping cleanly. No matter how strong supers were, enough unpowered people could prove to be a problem, especially when guarding other unpowered people. They were also on Malachite Isle, so they must have known that the chance of encountering supers that would try to stop this was high. Pandaemonium would almost certainly be looking for some kind of vehicle. Rather than try to force their way inside, Unhallow waited near where they kept the trucks. Hopefully they were reading the situation right.

This plan was completely and utterly insane, one that only a madman could create and follow. It was moments like these that Sanduleak was thankful for his own slight lack of sanity allowing him to somewhat keep up with Giza's train of thought. And he agreed because he saw that the idiots who made a prison on Richie Riches' island deserved this. Plus the magician was leading it, which guaranteed it be a success or entertaining at the very least. So that's how he ended up in the prison, a neat hole in a nearby wall showing off his entrance. His slow walk through the prison hallways was put on hold as he brought a hand up to his helmet, nodding slightly as he heard confirmation about the system shutdown which would make all their jobs much easier. Soon the stomping of boots filled the air and he turned his head noting the twelve guards running at him with guns at the ready. Huh it appeared not all the guards were stuck in the cafeteria pity. His response to their aiming at him was to raise his hand slightly up his head and smirk behind the mask. One second the guards were trying to head shot him, the next they were on the floor in handcuffs and watching Sanduleak walk pass them while patting his gloves clean.
"Good job gentlemen you really showed me."
He let out a brief laugh before continuing on his merry way, hand once again on his mask as he spoke.
"Large group of guards are taken down, prisoners should be able to handle the rest...if they aren't complete morons."
It wasn't likely but hey he could hope, in the meantime he had more guards, prisoners, and more than likely supers to take care of.

Stunt Double wasn't much for coming up with clever plans, and this was serving as an excellent example of why.
He had heard about an escaped fugitive on Malachite Isle and figured that it would be a good chance to fight some crime. Stunt Double had located the fugitive after a long day's search, and he figured that the fugitive was likely to spend the night with his fellow criminals at some secret hideout somewhere. So, that evening, Stunt Double had locked himself in a room, thrown away the key, and used his power to swap with the fugitive. He figured that he could beat up the fugitive's friends, tie them up, and then call the police to bring all of them in at once.
Unfortunately, Stunt Double had underestimated the effectiveness of Malachite Isle's police force. When Stunt Double swapped with the fugitive, he found himself in a jail cell - apparently he had already been recaptured in the time it had taken Stunt Double to get everything ready. Because Stunt Double had taken on the fugitive's appearance during the swap, the guards still had no idea that anything was amiss, but it was still rather embarassing. But escaping would be a bit tricky.
Then, an opportunity for redemption had arrived. With the sudden jailbreak, perhaps Stunt Double could use the fortunate coincidence of his captivity here to foil the villains' plans... and if it meant he could make his own escape, then so much the better.
As soon as the cell doors opened, Stunt Double stepped outside, blending in among the other prisoners. He noted with concern that the guards in this wing were badly outnumbered, worriedly brandishing their weapons as they tried to back toward an exit, and a great many of the prisoners seemed intent on killing them. Stunt Double forced his way to the front of the advancing tide of angry prisoners and called on his power. The prisoners in front found themselves suddenly teleporting back and forth, switching positions with each other in mid-step. The chaos and confusion gave the guards time to flee, and Stunt Double breathed a sigh of relief. Still wearing the appearance of the last prisoner he had swapped with, he took a few steps away from the confused prisoners and tried to look through the crowd to find any of the supervillains responsible.

Cartography is terribly underrated. Had Limen not studied a map of the prison in detail, she might have spent the whole of her ten minutes running around, trying in vain to find anything with more than one wheel and the keys that turned it on. After more than one hour’s worth of time spent pouring over multi-level spreadsheets of the place, Limen didn’t just know where they kept the prison vans, she knew a shortcut.
She came to a fourth floor overhang of a prison commons area. The ground floor was in bedlam as inmates, pandemoniums and otherwise, were pushing back against the security guards unfortunate enough to have been down there. One of them had gotten into a guard's’ weapons cache with the arms he’d gotten from Giza, and guns and other such weapons were quickly spreading through the crowd. Security was still reeling to gather and equip their larger and heavier gear (hopefully before the inmates could get their hands on it). If they were fast, they might be able to overwhelm them just with numbers and guns.
Another voice came on over their communication device, and her grin widened. Perfect timing. The handful of guards in this room had backed up against its one locked exit and were struggling to hold their ground until reinforcements could arrive. To bad for them their reinforcements had already been taken care of.
Stepping up to the fourth-floor railing, Limen drew and set a arrow. It took but a second to aim. The shaft shot over the heads of the prisoners and through a gap in the security guards’ shields, and stuck solidly in the heavy door behind them. A moment later, another joined it on the next lock down. Guards and inmates alike recoiled as the locks on the door exploded. As the dust settled, cheering rose up from the commons below. Fear spread across the guards as the inmates surged forward at their newly opened passage.
Limen spoke again into her com. “Large group of inmates headed your way, Sanduleak. I’d say watch out for security, but,” She ended transmission with a laugh. Cheer in her step, Limen continued her sprint down the gaurd’s hallways.
Many things could constitute a shortcut. In this case, it was a fourth floor balcony overlooking the van’s parking lot. The guards normally at the balcony in question had left their posts (and the door to the balcony wide open) to aid in the chaos, leaving almost the whole of this wing of the gaurd’s floor empty. It was almost as if no one expected for someone to go for the cars.
There was no clear way down from the balcony, but just because there was forty feet between her and the ground and there wasn’t a latter didn’t mean she was stuck. Limen glanced around, looking for anything of use, until her gaze settled on a drainage pipe set against the wall five feet away from the balcony. It was a straight shot all the way to the ground. That would do. Climbing on top of the railing build to discourage things along the lines of what she was doing, she lept for the pipe. Her aim was true and, taking hold of the tube in both hands, she slid quickly down the side of the building.
As it turned out, Limen’s initial impression that the lot would be empty was false. As she steadied herself on the ground and gave herself a little dust off, she caught sight of the single othere person in the lot. They were standing there, ominously, like a herald of death in their all-black outfit. Were they a super? Normal people didn’t dress like that. Were they friendly? Probably not - this mission was a three-super effort, and all were accounted for. She knew some supers had odd interests, but it seemed unlikely any supers willing to help their cause would just be hanging out around the prison. There was also the fact that they were deep within Keeper territory. It wouldn’t surprise her if at least one or two of them showed up to their little party.
Facing the person and widening her stance, Limen raised her bow and knocked a single arrow. For a moment she let the tip point to the person in black. Then, in a single quick motion, Limen shifted her arm and shot the arrow. The point bore into the lock of the door leading from the interior of the prison to the courtyard and, after a beat, exploded. It’d be terrible if the inmates made it all this way, only to be stopped by a locked door.
With a wink and a wave, Limen began running for her real destination; a small guard house that, unless the prison was really bad at conveniently organizing things, was the most likely place to hold the van keys.

Unhallow made a point to never get this close to the prison to avoid doing any damage to it. Given what was going on inside, they almost wished they hadn't come at all. While the vast majority of that sea of people were unpowered there were so many of them that Unhallow knew they'd be overwhelmed with in seconds. Exactly how they'd be likely to be overwhelmed made them shudder too. No matter how terrible these people were, Unhallow wasn't convinced they all deserved what their power would inevitably do to them. Unhallow also wasn't convinced that they themselves deserved what the prisoners would likely do to them given the amount of weapons they had. They briefly considered leaving, but then they caught sight of two supers. The first was Arcanum with in the walls of the prison itself. The second was a member of Pandaemonium, who as predicted, was presumably coming here for a car. It was nice to see that their prediction was correct, and they couldn't just leave Arcanum here to do all the work alone, so they took the small steps they could to help. The Pandaemonium member got ready to attack, and Unhallow tried to duck behind one of the cars. However, she didn't fire the arrow at Unhallow, and hit the door instead. It practically confirmed that this was the route the prisoners intended to take. A lump formed in Unhallow's throat as the archer ran off. This was far bigger than anything they'd been involved with before.
Unhallow took a few deep breaths to try to calm down a little bit. At this point, they knew two things: first the prisoners were going to come over here, and second they planned on using some of these cars. Unhallow couldn't do much about the first thing, not without doing things they weren't quite willing to do at least, but they could do something about the second thing. Quite easily even. Unhallow leaned against the hood of one of the cars. They didn't know much about cars, but it was obvious just looking at them with their power that cars were full of very delicate components that if were even slightly out of place, would cause the entire vehicle to stop working. The worst effects of their power should make quick work of the vehicles. Hopefully the police wouldn't mind too much. Dealing with the current situation was more important than being able to respond to future threats right now, right?

The prisoners are uprising against the prison guards, their communication is down, their reinforcements are cut-off, and everyone is trying their best to survive the uproar of the now-armed prisoners. Giza simply smiled with his plan unfolded wondrously; he glad that he shared his plan to Limen and Saduleak when he proposed a way to break their unpowered comrades out of jail. Looking behind him, a small group of Pandaemonium inmates are closely following him from behind. It didn’t take much effort to gather them all in one place in the cafeteria, and during the chaos ensued, he made his way toward them and get them out of there before the whole place engulf into chaos.
“Good job you two” he spoke on the radio, “Our comrades had been obtained, on our way to your location now. Limen, once you find a suitable escape vehicle, report immediately so we can get out of this god-forsaken place.”
Though of course, not every plan would go so smoothly; Giza had been expecting some super intervening with this daring escape. Since he has heard this place is Keeper’s territory, it didn’t really surprise him when he saw a silver snake slithering around the people before him.
“Back for a rematch I see,” he shouted to the snake. He then turned to the inmates behind him:
“Get your butt to our rendezvous point outside, I’ll take care of this slimy thing. Get moving, you imbecile, while we’re young!”
Following his order, the group of inmates quickly made their way passed the guards. With that done, he then raised his com up in order to contact the other two:
“Be on guard you two,” he said to them, “it seems that we have some uninvited guests in our lovely party. You both know what to do: anyone seems like they didn’t belong, keep them busy.”
Giza cracked his knuckles before let his voice spoke out in the prison’s speaker system once again:
“Lady and gentlemen, for one-night only, we shall begin our wonderful performance to you all for free. I would like a volunteer from the audience. You there, slithering around like the snake that you are, please step forward.”

It was common to hear supers of the more heroic persuasion complain that fighting villains in a crowd was way harder than fighting them in the open. And in a sense, that was true no matter what the hero's powers were. After all, villains tended to be less discriminate about who got caught up in their attacks. A fight in a crowd is never a safe event.
However, when fighting in a crowd was inevitable, that was where Stunt Double's power shone brightest. More swap targets meant more options. And considering that this crowd was made up of convicts trying to escape, he didn't feel too bad about using them like this.
So, Stunt Double stayed among the convicts as they moved toward the exit. Once there was an opportunity to mess with the villains' plans, he'd take it.

Arcanum passed by another pair of unconscious guards, letting the bodies lead her to the main room. Hopefully. Was there a main room? Everything she knew about prisons came from watching television, so she tried to avoid thinking about the details. The only thing that mattered was preventing this breakout from happening. Tomorrow, she could fix this problem of not knowing anything.
The fact that Giza noticed her presence this early almost impressed Arcanum. If it weren't for the part where she did not bother to hide very well, she would've guessed that his powers made him slightly psychic. There was already a precedence for people she could never sneak up on. He might fall into that category too.
Well, better not keep him waiting much longer. Arcanum rose partway from the ground, reforming her upper half to help push herself up. She didn't bother with the legs, which made her feel like more of a mythological monster than usual. The thought of making her hair look like a bunch of snakes crossed her mind, but ultimately sanity prevailed. This wasn't a cosplay contest. She was seconds away from fighting.
To be quite honest, she didn't pay much attention to what he had said earlier, so it was hard to really respond. There was probably an insult somewhere, but either way Arcanum let it slide. She spread her arms wide open and greeted the magician.
“Ah, just the man I wanted to see.” She gave a polite bow before their inevitable duel would begin. At some point she heard it was supposed to be honorable or something. “One lovely assistant, coming right up.”

Sanduleak had traveled down the hallway for a bit and made it to an exit lead to the parking lot, his job simply being to ensure their mooks made it from point A to point B, which made a lot easier thanks to his taking care of reinforcements and Limen's attack on their comms meaning they were a little more than just scattered. He wouldn't deny enjoying the sight of a pair of guards dash away instead of deal with him, they were smart and weren't worth the effort of chasing when some escapees would eventually deal with them. Speaking of escapees he chuckled a bit at Limen's message and soon heard the stomping of feet as the crowd came to him. He turned on his comm with a hidden smile.
"Speak of the devils here they come Limen, hope you're ready."
He waved at the group that was rushing towards him, actually recognizing a few familiar faces from Pandemonium, even got a couple of high fives as they passed. They were a crazy bunch but at least they knew to not anger him and were kinda fun. He was briefly distracted from his thoughts as he heard the compliment and advice from the madman behind the plan. Huh, he was a little disappointed that he'd missing this one night show but knew he had more important matters to deal with as he saw the large group stop in front of the door as if stunned. This did earn a little bit of the Super's ire.
"What the bloody hell is the hold up?"
Sanduleak made his way through the now parting crowd, noting an arrow in one of locks as Limen's work, but more importantly noticed what was acting as a 'prisoner stop sign'. It took a little effort to withhold muttering a curse under his breath, though he was sure it was pointless at this point as the group probably caught the Keeper's attention and Sanduleak's outfit certainly wasn't the most nonchalant. Why'd it have to be this one though, Sanduleak knew this was kind of their turf but still why'd it have to be that thing? That was a useless thought, he had more important matters than the why. He turned sharply to the prisoners.
"Alright everyone keep your distance from it, go into the building if you gotta, but do NOT interfere 'less you wanna end up swiss cheese or as a human shield."
Well no plan or show was without their conflicts, and at the very least it appeared this was in his favor with quantity and some quality. Here's hoping that actually counted for something.

Unhallow visibly tensed when one of the other supers addressed them directly. At least, Unhallow was the only person that matched that physical description, so they assumed he was talking about them. However, they weren't particularly surprised by the super's otherwise sudden appearance. Unhallow saw him coming long before he was even outside the prison, and long before he would even be able to see Unhallow. It was very difficult to surprise them like that. Unhallow was also not in the habit of looking at people when talking to them, or when the other person addressed Unhallow directly. Their helmet was completely featureless and it was difficult to tell which side was the front already. Plus, unlike most people, Unhallow constantly saw everything going on around them in all directions, and thus was constantly looking in all directions. Facing the direction they were looking was physically impossible. Even so, it was obvious the super wanted to do something to them, causing Unhallow to momentarily hold their breath. Moments passed, but nothing happened. Now Unhallow was just confused. What was he even trying to say? More moments passed, but still nothing happened.
Well, whatever, if it was important Unhallow figured he would make his point more clear soon enough. In the mean time, this car probably wasn't going anywhere. Standing up, Unhallow made their way to the next car. The previous car had a noticeable rusted spot on its hood from where Unhallow was leaning against it. Soon the others would look the same. Unhallow only hoped that would be enough to slow them down enough to foil their plans. As they moved to the next car, they noticed some movement from one of the other Pandaemonium supers. She had a canister, filled with a gas. Did they seriously bring more nerve gas to fight them with? And they were going to use it right where the prisoners would be coming out, and right where the vehicles that would let them get away were? Were these people insane? That seemed like an odd question to ask given this was Pandaemonium they were thinking about, but there were degrees of insanity here. Unhallow was already so nervous they were sick to their stomach. Their power was already significantly stronger than usual because of that, and they wanted to add the effects of the gas on top of that? The other super threw the canister. The arc it was thrown at meant it probably wouldn't land too far away from where they were going. Unhallow briefly considered using this tactic against them, but in the end, they decided it just wasn't worth it. It would likely cause too much structural damage to the prison itself, and not being able to move properly was too detrimental given the sheer number of people that would be coming here soon. Unhallow had to abandon the cars. They could still work on destroying them from a distance after all, it just wouldn't be as fast.
Still unwilling to run, Unhallow quickly turned around and made their way away from the canister before it even hit the ground. Once it did, gas began pouring out of it, but it would take a little while for it to fill the area. By the time it did, Unhallow was far enough away from the canister that it probably wouldn't affect them too much. It was a shame to abandon their quick destruction of the vehicles, but there was nothing to be done about it. With any luck, the fact that this super threw something like that right into the middle of the area she was intending to use to escape would slow their escape enough that Unhallow would have a little bit of extra time to work.
That terrible feeling in Unhallow's chest and stomach wasn't going away. This was far bigger than anything they'd been involved in before. Failure before hurt, but had few consequences in the long run. Failure here would mean so much more. So much more they didn't even want to think about it. Focus, they just had to focus. One step at a time.
