Name: Eve Voclain
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Occupation: College student, majoring in psychology with a minor in communications
Face Claim: Murakumo from Kantai Collection
Appearance:
Eve stands at 5'3", though she frequently wears heels to look a little taller. Her body is slender, and her legs are on the long side compared to the rest of her body. Her hair is so light that it's basically white, and reaches the small of her back. It is meticulously cared for, so there is rarely even a hair out of place, and is almost always clean and shiny. Beyond that, she doesn't have any other particularly notable features.
Her clothing tends to be extremely expensive, though not outlandish. She prefers to keep things simple so that people look at her instead of her clothes. At most there might be some frills, buttons or vertical stripe patterns on her pants. Her clothing comes in a variety of colors, though most of the time it will be a brighter color (with red being her favorite) mixed with something black or white. Her accessories are much the same. They tend to be quite expensive, and obviously show it, but she tries to make sure they don't draw too much attention to themselves. As such, she doesn't tend to wear more than earrings and a simple necklace with the occasional bracelet. She does have a golden watch she wears at almost all times though.
Skills:
Ballet: Eve started dancing when she was four years old, and while she tried a few different types of dance and has some amount of proficiency with them, ballet was always her favorite and thus the one she stuck with and studied the most. Because of this, she's also very flexible and reasonably strong.
Parkour: Years of ballet gave her the strength needed to climb and jump, and her own ability to quickly notice things in the area gave her the ability to see another place to go, or an unconventional path somewhere. It's a skill she uses often just to show off, even if she doesn't really need to. Granted, she won't do it if she's afraid it'll mess up her clothes for no good reason.
Running: Her long legs give her a long stride, so she's pretty fast. She's also athletic enough that she can run for long periods of time without getting tired as long as she paces herself.
Researching: Eve is good at finding information and assimilating it in a way she can understand. She learns reasonably quickly, and enjoys figuring out the truth behind any mystery she can get her hands on. This doesn't mean she just suddenly understands everything she finds. Having an understanding of computer hardware doesn't mean she can just go build one; that requires a skill set of its own. Eve just enjoys learning, and more importantly, enjoys knowing the secrets of everyone around her.
Trivia: Because she enjoys learning, her head is full of random, useless knowledge that she can't do a whole lot with. Most of this knowledge is focused on history, world leaders, and other famous people. Despite having little interest in them, she also knows quite a bit about celebrities, TV shows, movies, video games, and other aspects of pop culture, if only so she doesn't look stupid whenever someone talks about it.
Communication: Eve is very particular about her speech, even if it sounds informal most of the time. She clearly enunciates her words, so it's difficult to misunderstand what she's saying, and is good at getting her ideas across when she wants to. Whether or not she's actually persuasive depends on the person given her harsh language and tendency towards intimidation tactics. Her writing is much the same way, neat with perfectly even letter height. Even though she types most things now, she still insists on keeping her handwriting neat.
Personality:
Eve has absolute confidence in herself and her actions, and it's nearly impossible to shake this confidence. Insulting or calling out the more negative aspects of her personality is more likely to be met with indifference and a 'so what?' rather than any amount of remorse. While she's not self aware enough to know about all the aspects of her personality, she's well aware that most people find her abrasive. In the end, she just doesn't care. She's proud of who she is and has no intention of changing for other people. More than that, she thinks she's so awesome that she wants everyone to know just how awesome she is. Constantly. She's prone to showing off, even in situations where it's not appropriate. She doesn't think she needs acknowledgement from other people, but the truth is, it irritates her when she doesn't get it. It won't break her confidence or make her question herself, she just takes it as a sign that she has to try even harder.
For the most part, she considers people beneath her, and doesn't pay much attention to their feelings or opinions. Part of this is because she honestly thinks she's better than most people, and thus shouldn't waste her energy on plebeians, and part of it is because she finds the unspoken rules of society and politeness to be grating and inefficient. In her mind, if someone really sucks they should know that they really suck so that, hopefully, they can stop sucking. The combination of these factors is what allows her to shrug off insults so easily. First, the person is probably stupid anyway, so it's not like their opinion matters, and second, if they happen to be right then she can actually do something about it. As such, direct insults and the like won't get to her, but people being too nice, or people that will lie to avoid hurting other peoples' feelings or to avoid confrontation, will. People that expect her to care about social norms also irritate her, and people in positions of authority irritate her more. However, the thing that irritates her the most is anyone being better at something than she is, especially if it's something she's good at or if she thinks the person should be so inferior to her that losing should just be impossible. She tends to be unnecessarily rude to all those types of people, but with the last group she can be outright vicious in order to reassert her dominance.
Eve is quite stubborn about just about everything. Her tenacious spirit allows her to keep at things even when they're difficult, making it quite rare that she gives up on something. Not seeing something through to completion just bothers her on a personal level, to the point that she can often lose sleep over even the silliest of projects. This also means that once someone has her ire that person is all she's going to be able to think about for awhile. She often feels better once she feels she's one-upped them somehow, but until then she can make their life very difficult. Her stubbornness also makes her insufferable in arguments. To her, an argument or debate is more about winning than gaining new knowledge. The knowledge part is important, sure, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as beating down an opponent, even if it's only verbally. However, if she's 'losing' she'll do everything she can to 'win' in the end, even going as far to completely change the subject sometimes. As long as she comes out ahead it's fine. That competitive spirit shows in nearly everything she does. Being second best is just being the first loser to her; being anything but the very best is just unacceptable. This makes her work extremely hard, often to the point of absurdity, just because she can't stand losing.
Eve sees herself as an intellectual of sorts, though given her tendency to see debates and arguments more as games to be won, and tendency to dismiss other ideas as just obviously stupid, it's debatable about whether or not that's true in reality. What makes her think that she is one, is her curiosity. She is genuinely interested in learning about the world, it's just more a desire to learn about the less abstract parts of the world. When it comes to ideas, she thinks she has the whole world figured out, and if they just did things her way then the world would be perfect, thus learning about ideas is less interesting to her. Learning about history, people, and how people work are more interesting to her. Even if she's not interested in their stupid ideas, she is interested in why they believe such stupid things. Thus, the human brain and human psychology are interesting to her. There's very few subjects she's not interested in though, people just happen to be one of her favorites. She also tends to be interested in learning about people on an individual level, granted it's not in a way most would like. She likes knowing everyone's secrets, and if she sees a hint of a mystery, she will often go out of her way to figure out what's going on. She sees it as a challenge, as another game.
Because she thinks she's better than most everyone else, her sense of ethics are a bit skewed. It's rare that she physically hurts anyone. While she doesn't consider it a line she won't cross, she finds it distasteful. Emotionally hurting someone is fair game though. Those that tend to get offended or hurt easily are just babies in the end anyway. Their feelings don't really matter. If people are easily manipulated, that's not her problem either. It's something she's willing to exploit because most people need direction. If they take to it easily, it just means that's their place in the universe anyway. She's a firm believer that everyone should say what they mean at all times, and that the world would be a better place if people were just more honest. This means she never holds her opinions back, unless it could get her in serious trouble with authority and even then she only tempers it a little, and she expects others to do the same. Not doing so is outright making the world worse.
Now that Eve's finished high school and has entered the next phase of her life, she's no longer entirely sure what she wants to do. This isn't due to any kind of doubt, but rather because there's so many things that she wants to do that it's hard to pick one. For now, she's content to continue her education. Her family is rich enough that she can take any classes she wants, and stay in school as long as she wants. As long as it continues to be interesting, she'd like to continue learning. She has some interest in becoming a reporter or detective of some sort, just because she enjoys investigating people and uncovering the truth. It's something she wants to pursue, but other social sciences are really interesting too. It's just too hard to pick one thing! Longer term, she's considered getting into politics because it'd be the most direct way to change the world, but she has a lot if distaste for the games that come up with it. In the end, it's the closest thing to a long term goal she has because she's so focused on figuring out what she should be doing now.
