His tone had lightened up considerably however since they were making light of the situation. As tactless as that might sound to a passerby, but if you couldn't make light of something then it already had to much power over you. That wasn't how he wanted to live his life.
"Just general classes right now. I have kind of been putting off picking a major. I don't know, a theater degree would be pretty cool. As would an English degree. But I don't know how much of a future that would really help me achieve. What about you? Engineering major?"

"Yeah, right. Someone else is better off leading, especially that kind of thing." Kasey's giggle turns into a snort at the idea. Her, leading a gang. Thankfully, the world around them seemed to be peaceful still, so they managed to avoid inviting trouble. So far.
"I could definitely see a theatre degree for you. But English might give you more stuff to work with, huh?" She mulls over his potential options, but eventually the conversation comes back to her.
"Well, I just graduated last month, so I'm not sure. Probably engineering, but computer science wouldn't hurt, either." A small shrug as she looks away, considering her optoins. "There's a lot I have to do to get there, anyway. I'm not sure if I'll sign up this fall yet. It might be better if I wait a year and save up. Fewer loans and stuff."

"Well I'm pretty sure that you could land yourself a scholarship if you are making gadgets to fight off thugs. Just show them some of your prototypes or something? Maybe try to work through a few companies and see if anyone wants to pay your way through in exchange for you working for them when you graduate?"
Was that a thing? He wasn't sure. Certainly not for the type of degrees he would likely get. But he imagined the hard sciences were a completely different world than the liberal arts. At least no matter what she picked she would have a decent future laid out for her. That wasn't what was in store for Alex though. No, there was no bright future down a simple path for him. He was going to need to fight for everything he gets. Actors didn't just fall into Hollywood stardom and Alex had never been lucky enough to have anything handed to him. No, all of his talents lead down hard fought paths where only the most dedicated could survive.

"Mhmm." He made it sound so simple, and maybe it was. But if it were, then she and her family wouldn't be in the situation they were now. Theoretically. Maybe. She purses her lips and mulls it over, then jumps upright and claps her hands together as her smile returns.
"Well, I can certainly look into it. But we are in the now! We should do something."

He'd ask. He was open to doing something, but depending on how long it would take would influence his answer. He didn't really have all night to be goofing around. Not when he already had some plans for his evening. But as it stood now he had some free time and breaking up his routine might be good for him. Help him stay out of a rut. As long as slacking off didn't become his norm, which it wouldn't. He wouldn't allow that to happen.

Kasaey shakes her head with a wink at his question, the ideas bolstering her energy further. It would be so easy to tell him, to lay out a plan and have them follow it, but nothing about this chance meeting fell into that category, and she saw no reason to start now.

"Hmmmm."
He tapped his chin thoughtfully. A surprise could be fun, it would certainly keep him entertained for the time being. But there was no telling how long a surprise would take. But then again, his plans could be pushed back if they really had to be. Weighing it in his mind he didn't really see much to lose here. If he was bored he could always bail early.
"Sure, I'm down. Surprise me and take me on an adventure oh she who does not lead villains!"
He'd give her a flourishing and over dramatic bow as he stepped back and to the side allowing her space to hop forward and lead the way. Time to see what the mystery girl had for him.
