Fox feels like he’s about to burn up from the extreme heat of the sun above him, even the cool ocean breeze blowing isn’t enough to cool him down. While everyone out there is having fun in the water, playing beach volleyball or whatever, he just sit under the umbrella, trying to beat the heat with a blue-berry Popsicle in his hand and a fan on the other. He sighed; normally he would spend most of his summer vacation inside his air-condition home either reading or playing video game, anything but going outside in this outrageous heat.
Unfortunately for him, his family was needed to host a small event in the hotel nearby, and his parents simply demand him to join them, even when he really hated these social events. Thanks Christ he managed to sneak out of the boring event while his parents are busy kissing-ass with people in there, but since he can’t get back to his house, he decided to come out here on the beach, in his stupid formal outfit that was mandatory for the event.
“Urg, stupid global warming,” he said to himself, “why can’t someone invents a way to turn on the air-conditioner out here already?!”
In hind sight, he should have bought a mystery novel with him to get rid of his boredom. Now all he can do is just look as the people enjoying the sun. Just when he thought today couldn't get any worst, a beach ball coming out of nowhere hit him right into his hand, causing him to drop the Popsicle he was eating onto the sand.

Shane stood on the hot sand, bouncing up and down like the striped beach ball that was being kicked up by him, and grinned a bit. At the beach in his trunks, the teen was practically a pale beacon in the sand, showing off the results of being constantly in a jacket and never leaving the house unless forced to. Like now for example, his wealthy parents who decided he was antisocial and stressed, thought going to some meeting or something at a flipping hotel would 'help' cure him. Of course it was boring as hell...thankfully Shane was prepared with a bag that included some beach essentials and had an unhealthy enough appearance that he could fake being sick to get out. Course now he was outside, bored out of his mind because he knew no one and didn't want to-BONK!
"OW Uh oh..."
Turns out thinking and bouncing a beach ball could very easily result in said ball flying up, landing/bouncing off your head and smacking straight into some suit wearing kid who just now lost a popsicle cause of him. He looked miserable...and kinda familiar was he at the hotel or something...probably not. With a wave and sweat drop, Shane walked over to the fellow teen.
"Crap really sorry man I got distracted, want me to buy ya another one?"
He could at least be polite to someone who looked just as miserable as Shane felt. Who knows maybe he could drag him down into insanity and puns, could be interesting and fun. With a grin, he held out his hand.
"The uh baller who hit ya is named Shane Mcloud....god that was an awful pun even for me, ignore that please."

This was the most people Rook had been around outside of the horde that weren’t screaming and running away in a while. She was actually on the beach, a public place, peacefully wandering about with the normal public like a normal person, and it was all thanks to her clever disguise. Today, intent on getting some relaxation, Rook had pulled her long hair up into a bun, swapped her signature outfit for the first one piece swimsuit she could ‘borrow’, and got herself a pair of large, tinted snorkeling goggles. It was probably the goggles, covering not only her eyes but the majority of the upper half of her face, that did it. They killed her peripheral vision, but it was worth it.
However, Rook was quickly finding that a day off in the sun was quite boring. She’d had a nice past hour and a half; sitting in the sand was nice, and swimming without any real purpose behind it was fun for about twenty minutes, but where was the excitement? The action of her normal life? But she quite ready to leave yet. She’d put a lot of effort into making this all work, and she was going to make the most of it. The problem was, she thought as she wandered aimlessly across the beach, she couldn’t think of anything to do. Nothing that wouldn’t cause a panic, that was.
Her ears perked up at a fellow beach goers mention of getting a popsicle. She paused. Now there was something. She looked to find the one responsible for this idea, and to her side found two guys and the food tragedy that likely brought it on. One of them looked to be of about highschool age, the other seemed to be about her’s, and both of them seemed… oddly familiar. Maybe she saw them on the side of the road while she was driving somewhere and her mind had just decided their faces were going to be important.
“What if I told you kids I could get you some free popsicles?” Rook said, addressing them with a proud smirk, not unlike a creepy man who was offering children candy. The effect was lessened to some degree because she lacked an intimidating trench coat, but this was weighed out by the large a numerous scars that covered her exposed arms and back. What she really needed was some scary tattoos - then she could scare away the line with her sheer intimidation. But as things were, if she wanted a popsicle (and didn’t want to just pay for it like a normal person), she’d have to do a bit more work. “I’m going to go ‘attack’ the shopkeep running that stand over there with these water guns. While she’s distracted, you two run in and grab as many as you want. Just make sure to grab me one. You game?”

Alex had himself set up far away from the crashing waves, a large towel was laid out on the sane with a giant umbrella granting him copious amounts of Shade. Finals were done and his classes were over for some time, having opted out of taking summer courses this time around. He felt like he had better uses for his summer time than school. Especially since he lacked a solid plan for a major. But he had done well with all of his classes and thought that it was at least worth treating himself.
Hence the beach visit. Not that he was taking advantage of it much, or really looking like he belonged. Sitting there on his towel in the shade wearing a loose fitting long sleeved shirt and jeans, just like he did every other day. He hadn't even taken off his sneakers, which were probably full of sand.
He'd look up from his book at the small commotion after a Popsicle was knocked out of some kid's hand after a beach ball struck him. Not quite as interesting as Don Quixote, but the show was just getting started. Maybe something would happen.

Water came and went in a steady rhythm, washing up over her body in chilly waves. She'd laid herself out close to the shore, the cold water a welcome relief from burning sand. Her shoulders upward were safely out of range of drowning, but with each wave rolling in it lapped well past her elbows. A towel was laid out carefully under Lia's head, to keep her hair free of sand as she just laid there an contemplated.
For someone who lived the posh life on Malachite, Dahlia didn't come to the beach nearly often enough. It was so close to where she lived after all, and on a hot day like today it was oddly relaxing. So on a spur of the moment, she'd pulled on a solid pastel colored two piece and told the driver where to go. Her bag, really only containing some spare cash and a change of clothes, was safe from the water only a few inches from her head.
She was sure she'd gotten more than a few odd looks for her choice of spot to sprawl out, but she didn't really mind much. The sky was nice, and she could pick out any shape she wanted in the clouds. If she painted this place for her next piece, some uptight locals would probably be thrilled to shell out a lot for it.
But the peace, as it always is, was broken. Some idiot's Popsicle was knocked out of his hands, just barely avoiding landing on her nose as it toppled to the sand. A few sticky drops of melted flavor stuck to her cheek, causing Lia's nose to wrinkle up in disgust.
Pulling herself up to a sitting position (and ignoring the sand coating her back), she glanced at the gathering group with a clearly unimpressed quirk of the eyebrow. "That's a little extreme for a few awful beach refreshments," she pointed out, leaning back onto her hands. That snorkel girl seemed more than a little familiar, but she wasn't going to dwell on that. Everyone looked familiar when they hid their face. "If you all are that invested, I have more than enough means to provide some snacks. You would most likely end up with something a bit higher quality anyway, if I had anything to do with it."

Not only did he just lose his one way of cooling in the sun, now the guy that responsible for the action threw out a terrible pun. His desert almost fell onto the woman who lying on the shore, and she seems really irritated from it when she sat up. Before he could try to apologize to her, another girl noticed the commotion that the punny guy now started. There go his peaceful time at the beach. He was really hoping he could spend his free time by himself; that was why he left the dumb hotel event.
Now, however, he has gathered a lot of attention to himself. The girl in the snorkel mask seems rather nonchalant about offering a distraction for him to steal the Popsicle from the shopkeeper. This girl can’t be serious, right? Is she really suggesting him to steal stuff from honest-working people?
“U-Um…” he tried to said to her, having some hard time finding right word to say, “D-don’t you think it’s stealing? I-I can just buy a n-new one.”
When the woman that he almost ruin her day with the dropped Popsicle sat up, she suggested more sensible idea of buying the snack. Normally he wouldn’t mind if people want to spend their money for him, but somehow the way she said it sound almost insulting:
“I-It’s alright. I-I’m fine; I can buy m-my own snack.”

Shane had been nervous but noticing that it spilled on a particularly grumpy person who an oddly familiar sense to them but he ignored in favor of the sudden creepy person offering thievery as an option. Oh and now there was another guy attracted by the commotion and- oh crap wait. Squinting his eyes as he finally looked at the 'scuba diver', he quickly tried to remember where he had met them. He knew he met some of the people here, assuming he met the victim of Popsicle assault from a fancy party, but this one was a different familiarity. He had a hard enough time remembering people without seeing their face, but after processing the suggestion and catching the smirk he had to resist the urge to facepalm. His day going from zero to sixty, with his luck why was he surprised.
"L-I mean sorry miss, guess we're just gonna buy them, yup oh uh and want me to get you something miss?"
Dealing with one or two new people was hard but make it four, one of he which he definitely knew could cause some mayhem, that he initiated with an accident and it was a miracle Shane didn't go berserk or blow up like a bomb.

Rook sighed, dropping down to sit cross-legged on the sand, her plan utterly outvoted. But, oddly enough, in talking to these two, their little chat group had grown by one more (and a fourth who just seemed to be watching the spectacle). She still was bored, but at least she had conversation.
While the two boys seemed to be apologizing to this random person, she raised an eyebrow at the lady claiming anything she had to do with was of auto higher quality. “So what, everything you touch turns to gold, in a manner of speaking?” She put a hand contemplatively to her chin. “My first thought is you, my good stranger, have lots of money to throw around. But I wonder, on second consideration, if you are suggesting it is your non-monetary abilities and skills that put you on such a high tier, above even me. In acquiring popsicles for sure,” Rook paused, bringing her logic to a point and coming again to stand, “but perhaps in other realms as well?” Her lips were twisted up in a prideful and competitive grin. She was bored and if she couldn’t get help stealing popsicles, she needed something else to do. Therefore, this was exactly what it sounded like: a challenge.
“Such as in swimming, or,” she motioned to the ball one of the two guys had, “vollyball. I like to think feats of speed and skill are my greatest strengths, but surely even at my best I couldn’t live up to your brilliant glory, oh Midas.” She said with thick sarcasm.

He let out a small chuckle, it seemed that everything was turning into quite the scene. And the kid didn't seem to enjoy being the center of attention. He decided that he would attempt to give the kid a little bit of mercy. Especially since he recognized a few of the people there. And he did enjoy being the one directing conversations, or at least riding along on the rails. It was always so interesting.
"I think you guys are putting to much spotlight on the poor kid. He looks like he's about to have a heart attack."
He'd give Dahlia a small wave before he shot Limen a look. The smile was warm and affectionate. But something in his eyes spoke of danger. A warning, but in an instant it was gone like it had never existed in the first place. And someone as kind as Alex didn't have a mean bone in his body anyways.

Eyebrows quirked up slightly, Lia crossed one leg over the other with an elegant flourish. She'd glanced once towards Alex in brief acknowledgement, but seemed perfectly content in ignoring him in favor of the odd snorkeling girl. "That is an extremely roundabout way of trying to issue a challenge," she pointed out, the softest of smiles starting to cross her face. "I'm not usually the type for such activities, you know. With busy schedules and far more important things on my mind, it's easy to let such things fall by the wayside."
She brushed a bit of the sand from her backside, pushing herself up off the ground and letting bare feet sink into the wet sand below. Like this it was easier to get a look of her full towering height, her body sharp and angular in ways that could almost be thought of as dangerous.
"However, what sort of lady would I be to turn down such an obvious invitation?" One hand placed delicately on her hip, Lia looked down at the other girl with an unwavering stare. The kind smile was at odds with her hardened eyes, clearly not taking the idea of competition too lightly. Even now, just relaxing at the beach, there was a certain obligation that had to be fulfilled. Even if no one here knew of her family name, she still had to uphold it. She needed to be the best. "Name your choice of activity. The best two out of three will be declared the winner."

Fox feel rather annoyed at the man with blond hair sitting over there calling him kid. He understands that because of his lacking in height, everything just assumed he just some teenager who still in middle school. The guy, however, seems slightly creepy rather than friendly to him. Somehow he could feel something strange and off-putting coming from the guy when he looked at the snorkel-girl.
“H-Hey,” he spoke nervously, “d-don’t call me kid; I-I’m almost g-graduate high school.”
It’s seems that he has somehow got rope into the two girls’ cat-fight when the woman stood up and response to the snorkel-girl’s challenge to a sport competition. He looked at both of them nervously; if that snorkel girl decided to have a team vs. team sport challenge, he’s not sure how well he can fare on such activities. For most of his school time, gym has always been his worst subject.
“U-Um, i-if you decided on w-which activity, c-could I just sit on the side-line? I-I can keep score if you want.”

Shane hopped up a bit, making it appear like it was shock over Fox's age or the potentially lethal cat fight but in actuality it was that look he caught. Someone who was done and gonna make someone else done if he was too done with them. Shaking off the confusing thought, Shane glanced between the two before leaning over to Fox.
"Smart move, pretty sure we're witnessing a potential war...one that I'm probably gonna be dragged into."
He rubbed the back of his head while trying to gauge the situation. Either way it looked like it was going up a competition between the two, least he could do was minimize damage slightly...hopefully.
"Well we don't have an actual volley ball at the moment, so I'd go with swimming, settles who's the fastest and doesn't require you to rely on other teammates as part of the challenge."

Was that…? On a second look (granted by the guy speaking up), he with the blond hair and a book was looking extraordinarily familiar, and directly at her with a gaze that promised a painful death if she said the wrong thing. No, this was exactly who she thought it was, and she knew exactly what he didn’t want her to say.
“I like the way this guy thinks.” Rook said, casually pointing a thumb at the one who’d introduced himself a Shane prior to her officially joining the conversation.
“Shane’s my partner, congrats.” Rather than meeting eyes with her chosen partner, she returned Alex’s look of daggers with this statement and a wink, issuing a challenge to him as much as she had to the woman. “Almost Graduated High School is judge. Loser picks next contest, so you’d better start thinking of a good one.”
She made to grab Shane’s arm and pull him towards the edge of the water. “Nice to meet you, Shane, I’m Rook. You and me, we’re going to CRUSH them, yeah? Utterly.” Looking over her shoulder, she said, “Judge, you name the final destination and tell us when.”
She would be ready.

Did he just get roped into this? How did he just get roped into this!? He was trying to stay out of it for the most part. Dammit Limen, this is not what he needed. And he knew damn well what this was about. That whole deal about if he was afraid to lose. She thought she'd pull one over on him here did she? Oh he'd show her. When they got home he was going to lay into her until she wouldn't be able to walk straight for a week.
He'd flash a smile to the group and set his book down with a small shrug. Glancing back over to Dahlia he'd nod acknowledging her as well. "Looks like we are partners. Though I don't know how much help I'd be in a bunch of contests. Unless you want to do some improv."
His options were limited and his hands were tied. But she damn well knew that. Oh, he'd wipe that smug smile off her face soon enough.
