There are many moments in one's life, where a second can become an eternity and gives you enough time to truly view your life and the choices you've made. Some use this infinite time to reflect on themselves...Sanduleak used it to consider his current situation of being tossed through the air, not even the 'why' but the 'how' of how he was going to survive. He wasn't like some of the other psychos, he couldn't take a face full of concrete and shrug it of- oh lookie lake yay water. Survival chances have went up to what, 20%? Time spent considering survival odds and celebrating H20, was time that probably was better spent forming a shape to take most of the impact. Unfortunately he was out of the time and the best he could do was reinforce his own outfit that was making him a black blur, and slammed into the water like a bullet. Before bouncing upwards again and skipping for a bit til he could slowly come to stop on it's surface.
"...I'm a hop skip into pain...did that count as a jump...also...owwwww!"
At the very least he could slightly float and wasn't gonna drown, passing out from pain on the other hand was likely.

Ah, failure. The perfect motivation to reflect on oneself and try to improve. Canary had been doing just that, nursing injuries and trying not to suffer from cabin fever. Trying being the operative word, of course.
So when she slipped out into the night, it was with no particular goal in mind, except maybe to see how her last hot spot had fared, or find another spot to start working on. Both options were possible as long as she stayed away from public eye, but took a back seat to the sight of a something - someone? It was hard to tell with no definite shape - went soaring through the sky towards the lake. It was too big to be a normal something, right? Her gaze follows the blur's path, heading towards the lake once it's clear that they'll up in the general area.
The resounding splash that scatters across the night is fantastic in both sight and sound; Canary let out a low whistle as she made her way to the water's edge, curious to see what got a flying lesson that night. If it survived.
After a few moments, what was presumably the object in flight did, in fact, turn out to be a person, and a strangely dressed one, at that. Another super? Probably. It could be an actor or cosplayer, who knew? Either way, they managed to break the water's surface and seemed to be alive.
She gives a slow, steady clap for a couple of seconds, toes just touching the water. "You had it until the landing. I'd give it a seven." She looks around for any sign of whatever caused the person to whizz through the air in the first place, then back to them.
"Need a hand?"

Sanduleak took the risk of bending his neck up to see who was clapping and offering assistance. On one hand it hurt like a bitch and he swore he blacked out for a second, on the other he saw a super watching him. Hrm she seemed familiar and he thought she had like a bird name or something...Blue Jay? No that was an idiot ninja who he still had yet to have the displeasure of meeting. Anywho oh right pain and person offering assistance...now how to best handle this situation.
"Nah I'm good just acting like a floating stone instead of a rolling stone."
Sarcasm and puns oh yeah still got it in spite of limb breaking pain and soaked bones. No wait bad idea, this person could be a friend or something. God that throw really threw his mind for a loop.
"Actually yeah can I get like a new body, this one feels like crap and I think the warranty expired like a minute ago when it crashed into a lake...please help..."
Nailed it.

Of course. See what happens when you offer help, Canary. Mentally shaking her head at the internal monologue that threatened to come about, she chuckles and removes her coat, shoes, straps and belts, nudging them under a nearby bush so they wouldn't weigh her down. Eventually she finds a fallen branch from a tree near the lake and pushes it further into the water before heading in herself, shivering at the chilly water against her skin.
"On my way." She begins pushing the branch towards him, swimming behind it as well as she can. Maybe it was time to get something that had an inflatable raft in it.
"Have a branch. Maybe you can use it to convince them to give you a refund anyway." She offers a cheerful smile, holding on to one of the branch as she brings it to him.
"All aboard!"

Sanduleak had began to rest his head after bending it backwards, listening to the shuffling of cloth, chuckle, and splashes before seeing a branch poke into his peripherals. Well that worked. Reaching out with a hidden grimace, Sanduleak grabbed a hold, keeping the mantra 'don't complain' repeating in his head.
"Nah but thanks for the offer, maybe I'll ow...branch out to a different branches of their office."
With a pained laugh, Sanduleak offered some little kicks to help push them along back to shore, of course he couldn't help but be curious. Obviously this wasn't pandemonium he was dealing with or she'd be taunting him. So who was she?
"So er not that I'm not grateful but uh can I get a clue to who my tow person slash guardian angel is?"
Keeping up the jokes had the dual purpose of hopefully relaxing and lowering guard while also distracting himself from the pain.

Canaray's focus remains on her breathing once she sees that the man is able to grab on to the branch, complete with puns. Her lips quirk in an amused grin.
"Good luck with that." Puns seemed to be popular these days. Grateful for whatever help he would provide, she pulls them along and nearly misses his question. Whoever he is, he's not violent enough to convince her this was a mistake, so that's good, but it's also a super she knows nothing about, and looks can be deceiving.
"I wouldn't say I'm an angel," she laughs and stops for a moment, looking at him as she realizes that doing so was a bad choice. Time to bide her time for a moment, looking as though she's debating on giving out her name again, then continues pulling him along towards the shore.
"Canary's the name. Canary Claw. So who is it I rescued and might regret?" The tone is playful, takign out the potential sting.

Sanduleak grinned, even if it caused him to stop it was nice to hear someone else laugh a bit at his jokes. Well she seemed friendly enough and he was ninety percent certain he could not focus enough to summon up something in case this did result a brawl so hey lucky him.
"Trust me I can only see you upside down right now and can barely feel my body or brain, you're a guardian angel."
Ah Canary, yeah that name rang the bell he had been searching. Least he got the bird part right, but he couldn't for the life of him remember who she worked with, was it the bulwarks or keepers or did she just say fuck it...eh no time to worry bout that as he was busy chuckling and having the urge to rub the back of his head as he answered.
"So uh promise not to let me drown and you can call me Sanduleak."
He was too tired to lie and hoped her playfulness at the very least wasn't an act.

Canary snorts at the assurance but doesn't comment further on it, apparently enjoying his words despite his protest.
"See? You just need a moment to see things right-side up and you'll be fine." Okay, maybe not, but she's not pushing. It's taking her best effort to swim, and thankfully the shore is within sight.
"So, good news is that we're almost there. If you need a break, I can get us there the rest of the way. As long as you don't decide bashing my brains against a rock is your new hobby when we get there, you'll be fine."

"Damn you just gotta spoil all the fun huh, what's next I'm not allowed to fling my body across the water?"
Sanduleak weakly laughed before closing his eyes and stopping his own kicking, happy for the opportunity to just relax after the day.
"And uh seriously thanks for this, ninety percent certain I'd of uh ended up in ol' Davy Jone's Locker if ya didn't"

"Well, if you tried, I'd probably just do what I could to push you back in the water." Because sportsmanship is key to building friendships, everyone. "But it's all you for flying. You may need a small army of guardians, though." Not really paying attention to what she's saying, Canary continues on, just going with whatever flow the conversation provided since it stayed away from personal facts.
"You're welcome, Sanduleak. Everyone has their down moments."

"Point taken and accepted as fact, I think I'll stick to lying on the land"
Sanduleak nodded a bit, happy his helmet kept the water away from his face, and was just like her as he went with the flow of the conversation.
"Eh still it's nice when people show their like up moments, like now for instance."

"Sounds like a good idea to me." She doesn't comment, just gives a sound of acceptance at his example. Silence lapsed over them as she continued on, sighing in relief as her feet grazed the ground.
"Well, we're pretty much here." Ah, squishy, squelchy ground beneath her toes. She looks back over at Sanduleak, raising a brow that can still be seen beneath the lenses of her goggles.
"So what lead to the flying lesson?"

"Land ho indeed."
There was a dim flash as small little wheels of lights appeared under and rolled the pandemonium member further up so he was completely out of the water. Oh man did it hurt but it was so nice to be out of freezing water. And here comes the obvious questions, that he shoulda saw coming. A question he was kinda asking himself repeatedly at that moment.
"Er hrm... uh soooo I know it's got something to do with that giant guy...I think there was some reporters, I probably got annoyed, next thing I know I'm flying through the air like a paper airplane, sorry my minds a bit boggled from that impact."

Canary takes a step back at the flash of light, turning to watch Sanduleak roll up onto the ground with a mild expression of surprise. Apparently it didn't work out in the middle of the lake, but it seemed convenient to her, especially since it meant she didn't have to drag him out on her own.
"Big guy, bare chest and a mask?" She starts shaking her feet in teh water to clean them off before hopping out of the water and heading over ot where the rest of her stuff is. "What'd you do, say something he didn't like?" She stops and shakes her head as he mentions having a fuzzy memory, looking over her shoulder with one shoe off and her foot hovering over the other.
"You should probably get that looked at."

Sanduleak made his way to sit up against a tree, glancing around. The lake looked lovely when you weren't flying at it at the speed of a dart and - oh she knew him.
"Yeah looks like a wrestler, nice fella, I don't think he meant to almost kill me...probably I mean I was just going to take care of some media mongrels that were being stupid about what he was doin'."
He weakly clenched a fist before shaking his head slowly. People were very stupid sometimes, and resulted in him getting hurt, freaking perfect. Well least he wasn't dead and maybe they'd think twice bout talking crap bout the big guy. Probably not but he could he work on that later.
"Eh part of the fun and risk with the job, I think I'm just experiencing minor trauma, it'll hopefully pass....rather not have motor head work on me."
Surpressing a shudder, he turned his attention to his savior and couldn't help a small grin.
"And you know you're wrong, I mean I haven't seen one as armed as you, but you still got the guardian angel look...course what do I know I could be experiencing a concussion, joking before you worry...probably slash hopefullly."
