Not that Gilgamesh gave a crap, but it was true. While him and others were out kicking all kinds of Dragon ass Mosh Man was out looting and robbing. Apparently that had pissed off more than a few people. So much so that he was getting approached about staging a coup. Which was fine as far as he cared. He didn't know the guy, or care who ran the show. Though he would admit surprise at how much people cared about his absence. He figured it would have been par for the course, if anything Mosh Man had probably been acting in the true spirit of Pandemonium.
Normally Gilgamesh would have been at the dojo preparing himself for the fight to come. Eagerly too, but as of late it was feeling less like home. Probably do to the Bitch infestation that he couldn't quite snuff out. Yet. But he had taken to training more outside of the dojo just so he could get some peace and quiet. Other than the sound of flesh hitting flesh that is.
The punching bag he had set up was barely serviceable, but the guy was pretty scrawny. Mostly skin and bones and he'd long since fallen to unconsciousness. So he was just kind of hanging upside down from the lamp post limply. Figured though. Weak people made for weak punching bags and strong people didn't have to prey on children. What was a guy to do without proper equipment? Just make due with what they could.

"Another enthusiastic walk, I see." The words were like honey, warm and smooth as a familiar figure approached the two from the opposite direction. Regardless of her hood being up, it wasn't the first time Gilgamesh had heard the blonde speak. She tilted her head to look up at the scrawny sack of bones that hung from the light, deep red lips pulling down into a disgusted frown.
She spat at the ground in front of the unconscious man, recalling how she'd seen him before. She also distinctly remembered the massive burn she'd given him, visible even now alongside his arm and, now that he was upside down and his shirt hung with him, one could see it covered most of his side. The "accident" had been in the paper the day after her concert, blamed on a fault in the setup.
"Good riddance."

"Old boyfriend?"
He rolled his eyes before slamming another fist into the helpless man's ribs, but that was it. The fun was gone. He needed to retake his dojo from that stupid Norse wannabe. For his sanity and for the sake of him actually being able to do something. She needed to learn that she couldn't just waltz back into his life and fuck up his routine. And she had better not be giving Limen ideas on that either!
He turned his head to look at the self proclaimed bard, folding his arms over his chest. He still didn't get her deal. She couldn't figure out what the hell she was doing out here herself and yet here she was again. He just hoped she wasn't here for another therapy session because he was giving less of a shit about her problems this time around than he was before.
"What do you want?"

His first question was met with scornful laughter before anything else. Shaking her head, Awenydd raised a brow at Gilgamesh, then look back at the man that swung with the blows that furthered battered his body.
"Hell no. The guy's a disgusting leech. He came by the park I was at a few times, looking for...companions." Her lips rolled inward before she finally settled on the chosen word. She pointed out the burns along his body. "He learned to stop coming by." But apparently he didn't learn to quit the reason he'd been educated in the first place. Gilgamesh's testiness wasn't phasing her, at least not at first. He was as gruff as ever, and just as dour. Maybe a little less broody this time, though.
"I had business to attend to, so don't don't your pants in a bunch, Dragon Slayer."

"Neat."
That was his response to pretty much everything she had to say. He was ready to just turn and leave to find something better to do with his night before he remembered that her name had been one of the ones that he'd dropped to Cat Man about his little plan to take out Mosh Man. She seemed the type to be down for a change of leadership since she was apparently looking for meaning.
"Well someone had to do it. Not like Mosh Man was gonna show his ass up."
There, he'd tread on the subject and read her reaction from there. And if there was nothing he could just leave it as a bragging jab at their so called leader. And if it did hit something he could poke around. He'd made a deal after all.

"Something like that." She rolled her eyes and, unlike Gilgamesh, was actually going to leave. Normally, she'd be up for poking at him, seeing what made him tick. She'd already had a head start from their last session, but it was mere curiosity now rather than the information - and potential revenge - she'd been slighted on tonight. The lack of progress left a sour taste in her mouth, but Awenydd had to admit that it was her own fault. She was coming on to this late, finding her footing and figuring out if she really wanted to continue and what the end result would be. It had been weighing on her since before the dragon's attack, and after that things only seemed more important. More dire. She needed to choose.
"Last I checked, that wasn't his MO." Curiosity killed the cat, and thankfully she wasn't one. Awenydd slowed, then turned to face Gilgamesh in surprise. She didn't think he'd give two shits about the leader of Pandemonium, or most people for that matter. So why teh quip?

He shrugged. She didn't seem to bite at the bait at first glance. But she did stop, and turned. So maybe it grabbed her a bit more than the initial impression seemed to suggest. So the question was how did he want to play it since he had her attention. For the moment. He decided that the best approach for him was the nonchalant one. He didn't want to seem too invested in it.
"No it isn't. But you can tell plenty of people are pissed about being left to die while he snatches purses. As for me, just leaves more Dragon for me. But hey, I get off on the thrill."

"I do recall someone's ecstatic laughter while riding bareback." She smirked along with her chuckle, tilting her head slightly as she regarded him carefully. This was interesting, indeed. But why did he care? It didn't match up with what she'd heard and seen of him.
"Obviously it was better for you than the dragon, but Mosh Man wouldn't know that, either." She shrugged, echoing Gil's own actions. She'd only recently joined Pandemonium, though she'd had experience before with other gangs of supers. It seemed par for the course to her. Either they were left to their own devices or had a vice grip around your throat.
"Either way, we who chose to fight. He didn't." Not like anyone was asking them to like it. "It was our choice."

Guilty as charged. He'd enjoyed his little ride, even after it had turned ugly. Fighting for his life as it were was a thrill that just couldn't be topped. And one never felt more alive than when they were seconds away from death. He'd not go back and change a damn thing. Except maybe attacking the stomach instead of the back. If only so he would have been the one to rip it open like a Christmas present. Alas, he'd have to be satisfied with ripping out one of it's eyes. And he'd just have to do better next time.
"You're right."
He agreed with her. They made their choices and they fought because they wanted too. It was another reason why he wasn't personally mad at Mosh Man. He had made his own choice, and in a group all about personal freedom. Well, Gilgamesh wasn't going to fault him. Didn't mean he wouldn't kill him. But he wouldn't fault him.
"Still, it was quite a thrill. And if I can take out that Dragon then maybe I can just do the same to Mosh Man."
He'd grin as he clenched his fist, holding it up as if to demonstrate.
"Could be quite a show to see the head honcho taken down. Don't you think?"

Awenydd wasn't sure how Gilgamesh would respond. He tended to not talk much unless he was sick of people, from what she'd experienced, and yet here he was talking up a storm by his standards. She chuckled and shook her head, amused but intrigued as he groubht Mosh Man back into the picture. There was something there she was supposed to pick up on, or something he wished to say.
"A bit of a step down, isn't it?" Her gaze went over him as she shifted, then took a single step closer, testing both the super and the subject he presented. "Can't say it wouldn't be worth seeing." She'd say he had it coming, but in a way, they all did.

He'd just shrug.
"There is no step down. Just the next challenge."
It was great to always push yourself forward to be able to handle greater challenges. But not every challenge would top the last. And you can't turn your nose up at the fight in front of you because it wasn't more glamorous than the last. Every warrior had their own reasons for the battles that they kept close to their heart. But in his experience glory was rarely the reason for any warrior worthy of the name. Because glory was inherently about how others perceived you and not how you perceived yourself.

"Fair enough." She nods and accepts the explanation. It seemed to fit him, though it also raised more questions. A challenge, indeed, but that would only be the first step. They were speaking of the leader of Pandaemonium, after all. Maybe he wasn't the same as a dragon, but the effects of that fight would still have consequences rippling through the city.
"And what happens after you win?" The question that comes to mind most of all with this whole situation. Would he move on to another challenge with the throne to chaos abandoned, or something else?

Well kudos to her for saying when he won and not if he won. She'd get some points for that. Committing to it and not playing it safe with ifs and maybes. And it was a good question. What would happen when he won? Well, there was no way to tell the future for sure. But if he had to wager he'd guess it would be the same thing that always happened in these types of situations.
"A power vacuum. People will try to fill in the role, some might shove me toward it." Though he had no interest in that. He wasn't here to lead people, he had his own goals and agendas and he needed the freedom to strive toward them. Not the burden of leadership. "Though I suspect that the person that actually sits on the throne when the dust settles will either be someone stronger than me and Mosh Man, or more likely someone that already has a lot of allies. You have to be strong to hold the throne through force. It's much easier with the support of leaders and influential people within."
He'd shrug, it could play out totally different of course.
"It will be someone with direction, charisma, and a vision for the future. Sadly I think the days of Pandaemonium's free flowing chaos have peaked. The winds are changing for those willing to open their eyes and see it. You just need to figure out where you will stand when the storm comes."

Gilgamesh received no interruption during his explanation, just a small physical indication once or twice that she was listening and he still held her interest. At least, until the end. At that point, Awenydd raised her brows.
"That's certainly a thorough assessment, though you're probably right. If someone wants order, they tend to need others to support their choice of order." She tucked a small section of hair behind her ear as she nodded, not missing the fact that he'd mentioned himself as a potential leader for Pandaemoninium. Whatever would count as order for the group of villains, there were going to be rough patches and rebellious moments where people butted heads. It wouldn't be easy, but then, nothing truly worth fighting in this world was easy to come by, right?
"I must admit, I can't see you being tied down by being the leader of so many." Her lips quirked in a smile as she gave a low, throaty chuckle. "Then again, I wouldn't have suspected you of being redundant just now, either."

He nodded as she agreed with his assessment. It seemed the most likely course of action. Power hungry people always jumped for the chance to move into power. And the death of the closest thing this group had to a leader was going to make at least one vacancy. He didn't imagine this group putting everything to a vote or something like that.
"Pfft, like I'd accept if they tried."
He rolled his eyes. He didn't want to lead anything. He'd rather be the spear to someone else's goal if it suited his purpose. But leading was too restrictive, hell he wasn't sure he could be a teacher of one. There was no way he could do it with a horde. It would be like herding cats. Literally if Mr. Meowgi really did join in. Yeah, someone else could have that headache.
"Hey! It's my first coup, give me some credit."
He wasn't that redundant.
