It sure didn’t take long for Azoth be become pissed and started to look for him rather than focusing her attention on his game. With a situation like this, Anonymous decided to wake up one of the guards that Azoth’s informant coming in with. All he needs to do is stopped the melatonin input in his brain, and it took him quite some time to wake up. The guard, of course, looked around confuse sine all he see is himself inside the abandon building. Pulling out his gun, the guard slowly make his way around the first floor, carefully looked around the corner for anything to come at him.
Eventually, that guard will make his way toward Azoth, or at least close to where she’s looking. Since she’s currently isn’t seeing anything, she would be able to detect a heat signature of someone approaching her. If she’s paranoid enough, she might vent off her built-up anger on the guy. Anonymous simply cause the guard to be unable to see anyone in the abandon factory, even if he’s making his way toward Azoth and Geata right now.

Geata was quickly growing tired of the whole situation. The voice of the faceless super was grating on his nerves, on top of the whole premise of the game. And then there were stupid riddles in order to get to the game, which would most likely be stacked in Anonymous's favor. It was a waste of a perfectly good afternoon was all that it was. So when the room started to spin, Geata wasn't concerned.
That changed quickly when he suddenly found himself strapped to an operating table with Azoth standing over him. He was confused at first, but a pressure on his hand let him understand exactly what was happening: the Azoth above him wasn't real, it was all just another trick from Anonymous. Knowing this, Geata shut his eyes and clenched his teeth, digging his nails into the flesh of his hand in order to keep from his other hand from crushing Azoth's. When the pain finally stopped, a thin trickle of blood was coming from multiple small cuts in his palm. He barely noticed.
What he did notice, however, was Azoth on the ground, shaking. It was abundantly clear that she had experienced something similar to what he had. With a blank expression, he knelt down beside her and helped her to climb onto his back. "What did you see, kiddo?" he asked in a calm, quiet voice as he stood. His heart, while going faster than usual due to the adrenaline of going through his previous experience, had calmed down considerably from before. He waited for a response before turning and staring forward blankly.
"Anonymous," he called in the same calm tone, albeit louder, "I will give you a full thirty seconds to answer my following questions. If you don't, I will end the game early for sure. First, what, exactly, do you have that could possibly keep us here? I don't know the range of your powers, but I'm willing to assume that I can escape it fairly quickly. After all, you are aware of what my powers are."
"Second, should you have a compelling enough reason for us to stay, what are the rules of the game in full? If you add anything else later, I won't care what reason we had for staying before, I will take Azoth and we shall both leave. Therefore, it is in your best interests to say everything now."
He paused as he considered his questions before addressing Azoth. "Is there anything else we should ask while we have the opportunity?"

Anonymous giggled at the sight of how those two handle his little penalty when they answer his puzzle wrong. Now usually he can just watch those two continued going around reassuring each other like a newlywed couple. In a way, he could almost saw something that reminded him on something…
His thought started to wander slightly; the little illusion started to waver like a mirage under the hot summer day. Once he realized what happen, Anonymous quickly returned his focus in order to stabilize his illusion world. Azoth probably managed to take a glimpse of that armed guard slowly walking around the corner before them. After his illusion world finally stabilized, he began to ponder for Geata’s inquiry at him:
“Hm…that is some good questions. Let’s me see,” he started to think for an answer for a moment, “I guess I would say I have in my position the people that you’re suppose to meet today. Don’t worry; they’re only venturing around the Dreamland as we speak, so they’re perfectly safe. Maybe having some nightmare, but safe nonetheless.
But I guess it wouldn’t be enough of a reason to keep you both here, so why don’t we make this game more interesting. After you solved my puzzle and we start playing our chess game, how about this: we’ll followed your little rule of asking questions to each other in order to know each other better.
The only thing I would like to change slightly is that the questions must not have anything to do with our civilian’s life, or what our power and how they work. However, we’ll not have that two passes that you can use to decide on not answering each other’s question. If I win the chess game and the puzzle overall, I would like to have access to the Keeper’s information archive. I’m certain you, little Misty, have shared some of their info to the other supers around town, and I would like to have access to that as well.
Of course, it’ll only fair that you’ll have something if you win my game and puzzle. Personally I don’t really know what you would want from me, so I’ll let you decide on your reward. That sounds fair, right?”

Azoth wrapped her arms around Geata’s shoulders. She grabbed and squeezed her wrist, hoping the tension there would lessen the shaking in her shoulders. The image of Unhallow plunging a knife into her chest, the pain and rush of her own blood that followed, played again in her mind. Azoth pressed her forehead to Geata’s back and shut her eyes.
“Geata, please, don’t betray me.” That was all she wished to say on the matter.
Azoth’s focus was half on the conversation between the two others, half on the results of her search. She had no questions to add. Before long she’d found someone, walking towards them with a gun out. She knew Anonymous had shape changing abilities of some kind, but the way this man moved, cautiously, unsurely, did not match what she would expect from an Anonymous who knew they could not see him. There was one easy way to find out. The ground exploded directly below the man in a blast of gunpowder. Azoth caught a yell and the man falling to the ground, not dead or even unconscious, but clearly pained. He would not be walking anytime soon.
Anonymous would not be caught by something as rudimentary as that. This was a different unfortunate person. Who, exactly, was hinted at by Anonymous’s offer.
That small matter taken care of, Azoth addressed Anonymous’s ‘deal’. “Those informants mean no more to me than what time it takes to find new ones.” She spoke each word carefully and slowly through her teeth, her already quiet voice muffled by Geata’s back. A slight shake carried throughout. “Do with them as you would like. Anonymous, I do not wish to play your proposed game. You have removed most of the questions I would wish to ask you with those rules, assuming I considered an opportunity to ask such questions worth staying in risk of further attack.
“Most pertinently, I decline your offered wager. This is a game was created by you and set in your favor, thus your chances of winning are much higher than ours. The singular things I would want from you are to leave us alone forever, something unreasonable given the small size of the super community and our intersecting goals, or for you to serve me unquestionably, which while would be something undeniably useful given your skill and power, is still something I do not need. Neither is worth to me what you ask. I am not willing to wager the Keeper information archive. Proper access is not mine to give; therefore I would have to find secure means of delivering information to you whenever you wished access. I do not want the required continual interaction. Further, to do so would be a disloyalty to the Keepers, and a large one at that. I am not willing to cross my faction over a bet I do not want on a game I know I will lose.”
She was silent for several seconds. She adjusted her grip on her wrist, forcing it to relax at least so her nails did not dig into her skin. “Also, you did not answer Geata’s second question fully.” She stated.
((I do have a way to convince her to stay, if Anonymous does not currently have one of his own!))

Anonymous feel something built up pressure inside his head, a familiar feeling that he had been feeling sometime. Taking a long deep breath and let out a long sigh, he snapped his finger. Soon, both Azoth and Geata would see the illusion world started to fade away and return back to the abandon factory. They can see the injured man that Azoth just blew up groaning in pain right beside the conveyor belt, and if they looked closely, they can see Anonymous standing on the railing on the second floor.
“Fine,” he said to them, his tone shifted from being playful to quiet “if you want to leave, then leave. If you don’t want to play my game, then there’s no point of keeping you here.”
He then started to walked down the stair toward the bunch of unconscious people down below. He doesn’t seem to care what Azoth or Geata would do anymore; even if Azoth make the air before his face explode, he just shrugged it off and continue walking. Once he reached the informant, he pulled out one of the guard’s gun, aimed directly at the unconscious guards and pulled the trigger.
“YOU FUCKING STUPID BITCH!!!” Anonymous screamed in anger each word for each shot he fired at the informant, “Do you know how hard I have put my effort in creating this little game?!”
After he finished with the gun, he reached down and grabbed hold of the informant’s neck and lift him him:
“All I want was to play a game with you; all I want was to be able to learn what information you Keeper had been kept away from the public. Is that too much to ask?!!!” He threw the guy straight in the rusted machinery. Pulling out another gun, he started to shoot the other guards, who finally woke up from their slumber only to see a faceless super started to kill them off one by one with their own gun.
“Do you know how many time you Keepers had interfered with my work?! Every time I went out to look for some information, you’re always there, ruin everything. Even when I get the upper hand, you simply snatch my work away just like that. You hoard all the information away from everyone when such information could have save many innocent lives, super or otherwise. Every time you interfered with my work, I get nothing while you get the info; every time you lend your “aid”, we both get the info. Do you see the fucking pattern?! No matter what you do, you always get the information while I have to work for it, and even then I don’t even know if it was worth it or not! So congratulation for winning the first prize, kiddo; you FUCKING earn it!”
Anonymous panted heavily after all the rage that had been built inside him all this time finally vented out. He dropped the gun on to the ground and fall to his knee, looking straight into the wall without any emotion left in him. He then turned to Azoth and Geata; seeing how the two of them like this, it reminded him too much about the past.
“You think seeing the nightmare before your eyes is bad? Try living in one.” His voice became flat and monotone as he said to them, “now go back to your home and cry like a bunch of pansy that you are.”
He then started to chuckle to himself, paying no attention to either of them. He quietly pulled out the small silver coin and tightly clutching it in his hand, closing his eyes while contemplating.

When Azoth wrapped her arms around him and pressed her head into his back, Geata did his best to relax. He was tense; the entire situation was wreaking havoc on his nerves and he was putting on a brave face to try and protect her with. Having her on his back, though, trusting him to help her; it calmed him down slightly. He didn't fully understand the reasoning behind it himself, he was simply glad he could help the small girl holding onto him. "Don't worry," he murmured warmly in response to her words. "I won't."
During the time that Azoth and Anonymous spoke, Geata kept quiet. The wager wasn't his to make, and there wasn't anything that he really wanted. Still, Anonymous's outburst at Azoth's denial of the terms was shocking and, while understandable, unwarranted. "Anon," he said quietly after a moment's consideration, "surely you didn't think that Azoth would agree to that in the first place? She's business minded, she'll almost never accept the first offer unless it is absolutely in her favor." He considered walking towards the faceless super and trying to comfort him, but he decided that it wouldn't be the best course of action for anyone involved. "Perhaps," Geata said slowly, "information on a specific subject of your choice? Would that be something the two of you could agree on? And in return, perhaps a promise that you won't try something like this on Azoth again? There's no reason why nobody can benefit here. You can both get something, so try and work out a deal."
With a sigh, Geata added one last request. "All I ask, Anonymous, is that you don't try to hurt her like that again."

Anonymous remained quiet for the entire time Geata start talking; had his request being at unreasonable? All he wanted was access to the information archive of the Keeper if, emphasis “If”, he won the chess game. He created this whole puzzle because he wanted to know how intuitive Azoth is in paying attention to everything. He would’ve expected her to cheat her way through the challenge; he could never trust a Keeper to keep their words. That vision that he made Azoth saw was exactly what he would expected a Keeper would do when they no longer have any need for their own agents. This was the reason Anonymous doesn’t like the Keeper, or at least the higher-up of the Keeper.
After some moment of silence, Anonymous looked up toward Geata and let out a chuckle, his tone returned back to his usual playful self:
“Goodness gracious, didn’t I tell you that I have no idea what she’s going to negotiate for? What can I say; all this frustration that had been built over the past few weeks had been quite unstable. So I do have to thank you, little Misty, for giving me the permission to release my built-up tension out.”
He then stood up and dusted himself off as he began to think about Geata’s proposition. He sighed since Azoth is being a paranoid little brat; she said she won’t give him access with the archive, yet she had share the secret with other people that she worked with in the past.
“Well, how about this, little Misty,” he thought up an idea and decided to speak to Azoth in her head only, “I know a part of how your ability work, that’s how I was able to at the very least fool your boyfriend over there by having you creating that fog that you saw earlier. Those rambling codes that you saw in your head was my doing, but I guess you know that already. Am I safe to assume your power came from those chains of codes that I constantly see in your head? And that similar to how a human DNA built protein in their body, you’re using those chains of codes as a blueprint to create whatever you want as long as you obtain their code pattern into your head, right?
So, here’s my proposition to you: I’m willing to keep that little information as a secret from everyone, even your boy-toy over there. In return, we will play our little game from where we left off, perhaps even sharing some of the information we might have. What do you say? We all need to look out for each other in the end, right?”

Azoth blew through her teeth. “He knows about my powers.” She muttered angrily. She did not appreciate Anonymous’s outburst, as it would require her to again search for the information she was seeking and she suspected his words were directed towards her, but it did give her some time to gather herself. Her breaths steadied and slowed, and with them her heart rate. It had only been an illusion. She could still feel it beating in her throat, but at least it was no longer in her shaking arms or her voice.
She said nothing to his ‘thanks’. Speaking louder, Azoth looked up and addressed the other super. “Very well, Anonymous, I’ll accept your deal. We will ‘pick up’ the game, and we may trade information afterwards. However, if you harm either of us with your power again, it will be taken as an attack and responded to as such. You would not allow me to sit and stab you, deal or not. We cannot be expected to do the same.”
Again her voice lowered. She knew there wasn’t much point in hiding what she was saying from Anonymous - if he could speak directly into their minds, who knew what else he could do - but she wasn’t speaking to him. “I apologize, Geata. I seem to have gotten you involved in a larger issue of mine than I intended. I will make this up to you.”
Left unspoken was how much he’d helped her thus far. And thanks, for not leaving.

Geata sighed at Azoth's words. Judging by her tone, if Anonymous knew that, he was suddenly the one with the power of the situation again. It was made even more clear when Azoth agreed to play the game after all. Once again, they were playing right into the faceless super's hands. It was irritating, but Geata was in no position to leave. Azoth's condition had improved, but the second Geata left, he knew she was powerless to prevent another attack. There was no way he could leave her vulnerable to something like that again, not after seeing how she reacted to the first attack.
When Azoth quieted down and spoke to him alone, he smiled. "Don't worry, kiddo," he said calmly. "I'll accept payment in the form of us hanging out without having to do a job, if that works for you."

Anonymous let out a smile as he clapped his hand: “Wonderful, I can hardly wait.”
With one snap of his finger, the whole area become dark once again, after a few moment, Azoth and Geata will both find themselves back to the room with the chess pieces still scattering around, and their white king is still trap inside the box.
“Well aren’t the two of you just adorable,” his voice echoing through the room, “I believe I don’t have to repeat my puzzle to you anymore. With all your free time of thinking, I’m certain you finally solve it right? So how about we make thing a bit more interesting: I’ll start a timer, and you have about a minute to solve them before you lost another pawn okay?”
As soon as he said the word, on the opposite side of where they stood two of the checker panel stated to flip to its other side, revealing a digital clock with the amount of a minute showing in red LED light. As soon as he snapped his finger, the clock activated and began counting down:
“Your time start now; has fun.”

Azoth sighed, annoyed to be back where they were before. But, she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t the smallest bit glad to have something to take her mind off of the illusion Anonymous had created. The timer was a minor distraction; she didn’t want to waste time sitting around thinking. Think outside the box, Anonymous had said. That could be managed fairly literally, she figured, but first came the pieces.
Since this was an illusion, the pieces obviously weren’t actually there. This could be relegated simply enough. Where the black pieces rested on the ground, wood replicas created as far as she could tell formed. The sides facing away from her would be a little rough, but approximations would do. ‘Removing the guards’ was completed as all of the remaining pieces burst into a raging fire. Nothing but ashes would remain.
Then, for the king. “Geata, please pick up the box with the king and throw it through the wall.” Azoth said, aware that she could do so herself if she got down from Geata’s back. The fact of the matter, however, was that she didn’t want to and therefore was avoiding doing so. She elected to blame her inability not so much to miss but to be unable reach the side of a proverbial barn when tossing an object if pressed.

Geata felt a familiar feeling of irritation upon hearing the comment about how "adorable" he and Azoth were. The pair being thrown right into the exact same puzzle- with a timer now, no less- wasn't something that would improve his mood, either. When Azoth finally spoke up, though, he had managed to move past the annoyance at the faceless super's words and had thought of a possible answer.
So, as he quickly moved forward to grab the cage, he decided to test something. He opened portals underneath the pieces that, if they actually passed through, would deposit said pieces on the pedestals in the order of pawn, king, knight, bishop, rook, queen. If power was based solely on movement capabilities, then that would likely be the correct order, but it was more of an experiment to see if the illusions would comply with the alerted physics of his powers.
As he tossed the cage, he debated what answer Azoth had come up with. If all that was going on inside the illusion was him throwing the cage, Geata wondered if she had influenced something outside of it. If she did, he doubted it would work, considering the puzzle was inside the nightmare, but he supposed she was likely testing the waters in the same way he did with his portals.

“Oh little Misty, try as you might,” Anonymous started to sing a familiar tune, “but as you look closer, you never get right. But oh do not worry, your boyfriend is near, and does what you should have, and that much is clear.”
He then let out a maniacal laughter that echoing through the factory and both of their minds. The glass box that Geata just threw right at the wall simply hit the wall and fall down on the ground without much of a mark on it. Soon the glass box open and drop down the white king piece onto the floor, slowly rolling toward their feet. With that, the room slowly fall apart and brought them back to the chess board, and the white king piece is right next to the board.
“I have to be honest, little Misty,” Anonymous gave them a small claps, “I really thought you’ll be smart enough to solve such an easy puzzle that even your idiot boyfriend there managed to solve. But I guess that teach me not to overestimate you so much. Well, you both know the drill by now: one down, five more challenges to go, and you’re only lost one pawn from all of that.”
In the meantime, Anonymous quietly make his way toward the burning wooden chess pieces that Azoth just made using her power and put them out. He simply picked each of the pieces up while they were still burning and clenched them in his hand. The burning sensation is there, but just barely. The burn slowly healed away as if nothing had happen to him; his pain-tolerant level had gotten much better since he had suffer through a lot of those pain that he started to become numb to them. So in fact, he welcomed the pain; it's proof that he's still have his senses, that he can still suffer through his own action like how a normal human being should.

Azoth internally grumbled at Anonymous's goating. He'd said to arrange them from the most powerful to the least powerful, and thus that's what she had done. The only difference between Geata's 'correct' solution and her own was the placement of the king; between the pawn and the knight like it was a backup singer rather than at the top. This made no sense to Azoth. Of course the king was the most powerful piece - if it was lost, the game was lost. Its own power may be only slightly higher than that of a pawn, but the 'combat ability', so to speak, of the piece was outweighed by its ability to alone sway the game. The queen's power meant nothing if she was unable to save her king from an enemy pawn. The king being placed at the top was the obvious answer.
When that had failed, it had been clear to her that setting pieces on the pedestals was going to get them nowhere and she had to, as he said, 'think outside the box'. Remove the guards and free the king literally. But instead, the answer was sorting by what she identified to be their fighting ability, as though pure combat skill was the only contributor to 'power'. Surely Anonymous couldn't be so naive? This is why she had denied Anonymous's offer in knowing she'd lose the bet, she thought bitterly. He was playing an unfair and biased game.
Aloud, she didn't acknowledge Anonymous's jab. If he wanted to underestimate her, that was fine. This was not an attempt to impress him. Attempting to not let the fact that he'd just unflinchingly picked up a piece of burning wood, she tried to log that information away for possible later confrontation and turned back to the 'game' she had to play.
"Very well, Anonymous. Show us the challenge of the knight who is apparently more powerful than the king." A small cube of steel appeared above the given piece on the board, and fell to press the glowing red button.

“Oh come now, little Misty,” Anonymous said to Azoth, “would you mind not creating trash out here? I mean, that piece of junk would just fit in with the other junk in this abandon factory, but you know what I mean. Beside, yes the king are the most importance piece in chess, but in reality, the king are a coward, hiding behind his more powerful pieces, ordering them to protect him. So you're correct, the king is the most importance piece, it is still the second weakest piece in the game, above only the lowly pawns.”
The hunk of metal simply went through the pedestal, but since she pick that pedestal anyway, he sighed and started to change their surrounding once again. Once the darkness finally faded away, both Azoth and Geata would find themselves standing before a huge radar screen in a square grid. Each time the radar sweep, they could only see the black screen and the solid green sweep going around and around constantly.
The screen is an 8x8 grid; with each square is about five inches on each side. Right below the screen is the replica of the black radar screen, but much smaller, and each square is a small red button. Both Azoth and Geata could feel the swaying back and forth, as if they’re actually on a ship. And if they both would listen closer, they could hear the sound of crashing waves outside of the room. At the bottom row and the second column from the left is a green pip, showing their position. On the wall to their left is a big lifebuoy with the name “White Knight” written on it in black bold letter.
As soon as the both of them looked at their surrounding, the red light behind them started flashing and the loud alarm began to play in the room.
“All hand on deck!” Anonymous voice coming out from the speaker, “We’re sailing straight into the no-man’s land where there’s report of underwater mines are found in the vicinity. Our radar system is jam, and our steering wheel had been sabotaged so we can only sail foward. There’s only one way that we can leave this place in one piece: our intelligent report that there should be six mines ahead of us, and we can use our weapon system to detonate them before we collide with any of them. The panel before you is our targeting system: each buttons can be use to target a corresponding position on the screen. We only have six missiles, so make each shot count.
However, the underwater mines are design in a way that if any of them detonate in a wrong order, all of them will explode simultaneously. In order to keep that from happening, we must detonate the mines in a correct order. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you the coordinate and the order of the mines that you must detonate: they ar…at…then…D…a-and…5…you copy?”
And just like that, the speaker started to let out a bunch of white noise and incoherence sentence. The blaring alarm still going and the red light is still flashing in the room.
