Geata rolled his eyes and started to tune Anonymous out. He had a name, after all, and being talked about like he wasn't even there was starting to get old too. Still, he had managed to get the riddle right; the king was theirs now; and, irritating gloating aside, Geata felt pretty proud of himself for getting it right. He felt some of that pride diminish when Azoth spoke, though. He was pretty sure that was irritation that he heard in her voice. It seemed to Geata that Anonymous was getting to her just as much as he was him. Still, she had chosen the knight, and as the scenery changed and Anonymous explained the game, Geata took in the new environment.
After Anonymous finished, Geata sighed. So much for riddles. Instead of getting confusing information, they were provided with not enough of anything. "A full coordinate or two would've been nice," he muttered under his breath. He looked at the panels for a few seconds before shrugging.
"Do you have any ideas?" He chuckled nervously before signing again. "With all the information given, I don't have enough to make a guess other than pressing buttons at random, and that would probably end very poorly."

Anonymous let out a light chuckle from the look of confusion on Geata’s face. If these two are unable to solve this simple riddle, they will have a huge disadvantage when the chess game finally started. He is quite curious to see how these two can finally work together in order to solve the puzzle. With than in mind, Anonymous had a little idea:
“Little Misty,” his voice started to echo in Azoth’s mind only, “you…already…the…a…back.”
Once he finished with that, he turned his focus on Geata to mentally communicate to him: “have…heard…answer….while.”
With that done, he cleared out the chunk of metal that Azoth made in the room in order to clear their area. He can now sit back and observe what the two of them will do now.

Azoth had suspected it before, but this confirmed it: Anonymous could read her mind. That’s how he’d figured out what he had of her powers. How deep, and how much more about her he had gleaned, she was unsure. But it meant she had to be careful what she thought about - if she was, indeed, capable of doing so.
She did not attempt to hide the fact that she still very much disagreed with Anonymous’s simple and naive view of the king and his power. Nor did she attempt to hide her miffedness that the case of an event such of this would be a non-problem for her. She could simply detect the mines out in the water they crossed, directly in front of them, as Anonymous had said the ship was locked, and deactivate any that were in the path of the ship.
“The ship is clearly the knight on the left.” Azoth stated. If the name of the ship and the dot on the grid didn’t make it obvious enough. Her first thought was to move across the board in the pattern of the knight, but any kind of sane crossing of the board would take less than six moves to complete, even with the two given coordinate parts, D and 5, taken into consideration. Next, she wondered to the positions of the pieces as had been set up on the original chess set. There were indeed pieces at D and 5, but the pieces were scattered and not all would be a danger to a ship traveling in a straight line. Further, the knight couldn’t move to hit any of them on its initial turn.
Azoth sighed. It didn’t all line up correctly. Anonymous’s ‘hint’, she assumed it to be, was of little use. Still, she spoke it aloud, in case Geata might be able to make something of it. “You already the a back.” She mumbled. Who knew.
Her next best guess was if the ship was going straight, all of the threatening bombs had to be on that line or else they wouldn’t be considered a threat. She could assume the straight line it’s traveling in is the hypotenuse of the knight’s usual movement. If that could pass through the row 5 and the column D… Mentally drawing herself a picture of the board, she found it did. First, the knight could move to C3, followed by D5, then E7 before being off the bounds of the board. It bothered her that D and 5 intersected to be the same point, but given the status of the ship, she still had to assume this was correct.
Those three points, C3, D5, and E7 could be confirmed to be squares the ship would pass through and thus points of the bombs. The corner of D4 was also hit, so perhaps that was a point as well? Acting off that assumption, C2 and E6 were also likely to contain bombs. The order was likely to be the order by which the ship passed through them, making the pattern C2, C3, D4, D5, E6, E7. Pragmatically because she couldn’t reach them but personally because she felt like spiting Anonymous just a little, Azoth formed small cubes of metal to land on the buttons in that order.

Anonymous let out a sinister laugh when Azoth created smaller metal cube in order to press the button panel in a certain order. As soon as the last button was pressed, the alarm stopped for a moment, as if everything have calm down. And just when they thought they were safe, the illusion wall around them exploded into a bright glow of choking black smoke and the crackling bright orange-glow of the flame. Of course, keeping to his word, these smoke and fire doesn’t do any damaged to the both of them; they’re simply there to signal them that they have failed. Soon they found themselves back to the chess board before them:
“Oh little Misty,” Anonymous said, “you really should pay attention to the rule and everything around you. Your little action just cost you another pawn; honestly, that was the easiest puzzle that I’ve ever created. How about you finally get off your high horses and pay a very close attention to everything I said and do; everything I made you to see isn’t just for decoration, after all.
“Maybe I should’ve been talking to you like a parent talked to their five year-old,” he cleared his throat slightly before started to baby-talk to them, “now pay careful attention to Uncle Anon over here, this is very importance okay? Those buttons panel will tell your boat-sy to light up a pretty spot on the screen. All you have to do is to light up six spots on the screen in a pattern in a certain order and you will get your white knights back, okey kiddo? Now run along back and try that again, okay?”
He snapped his finger and returned them back to the room once again, but this time the alarm is even louder than before, and above the screen is a digital clock timer set in 30 seconds.
“And, since I’ve literally give you the answer already, let make this more challenging: if you don’t finished the puzzle or press the button in wrong order again, I’m afraid you’ll just forfeit all of your pawn pieces.”
With that, the timer started counting down: “good luck kids.”

Geata cared not for hearing Anonymous's voice in his head, but there really wasn't anything he could do about it. Especially since it was clue enough to give Geata an idea. "Have heard answer" was all that was needed, but Azoth adding what she had apparently heard was confirmation. If they had heard the answer already, and there clearly wasn't an answer in the explanation of the "riddle", then it must have been given before. There wasn't anything in the last riddle, except possibly the order, and he doubted the fake Azoth from earlier had said anything considering how the game hadn't even been accepted yet. Which would leave either the attack (which would have been horribly unfair, even for what was going on), during Anon's temper tantrum (which was also doubtful considering how he was thinking they would leave), or during the introduction of the game. And the only thing that would've been even close to an answer was...
Suddenly, Anonymous was laughing and walls were burning and Geata realized Azoth had done something again. Something wrong. Having already guessed at the answer, the masked super didn't pay attention to a word that was being said. Instead, he took the time to actually take note of the pedestals positions. Assuming the order was the order of power, Geata mumbled the coordinates to Azoth, half in case he forgot the actual positions, half to make sure he remembered them.
When they were brought back to the room, he wasted no time discussing. Azoth didn't bother to ask him his thoughts on her answer, he wasn't about to waste his breath doing the same considering how they were apparently on a deadline now. First he pressed B3, then D4, followed by F3, D2, G5, and finally A5. Might it be the wrong order? He was willing to admit it could be, but it made sense to him.

As soon as the last button was pressed, the alarm finally stop, and the timer stopped counting down. After some short moment of silence, the loud clasping sound echoing all over the room along with Anonymous’ chuckled:
“Well what do you know; it’s appeared that your boyfriend Geata there is actually smarter than you, not much of a surprise there.” He snapped his finger and returned both of them back to the huge chess board, and standing next to their white kings are the two white knight pieces that they just obtain.
“Tell you what, since the two of you seems to work so well under-pressure, let’s added that in to all the puzzles from now on. Anyway, you know the drill, pick your next challenge; I can’t wait for us to finally start a chess game.”

Azoth’s brow tightened. That… didn’t make any sense. She’d already thought of that possibility and ruled it out due to other factors, yet that was the answer? It made her head hurt. She was unsure if Geata was simply more reckless than her or was operating on a similar mindset as Anonymous, but, her answer wrong or not, she was glad he was at least getting them right. Though, Anonymous’s continual jabs at her inability to solve his unfair puzzles was annoying to say the least. But, if that’s what he wanted to think of her, so be it. He could underestimate her all he wanted.
In part because she chose the last one and in part because she didn’t really want to play this game (even if she as doing so and would continue to do so anyway), she did not immediately pick the next peice.
“Do you want to select the next one?” She asked flatly.

On the one hand, Geata was glad he got the answer right, Anonymous's mocking congratulations aside. On the other hand, he was getting ever so slightly irritated at multiple things involved with the whole situation. Constantly being called Azoth's boyfriend was one obvious irritant. Another was how every riddle was now going to have a timer. And Azoth's tone. He couldn't tell what exactly made her sound upset, but it wasn't that he had been the one to figure out the riddle, was it? It couldn't be, he told himself, but he wasn't entirely sure.
"The king riddle helped me figure out the order for the last one," he said resignedly. "Might be best if we work our way up, get every hint we can for the more difficult ones." He walked over to the pawn pedestal but hesitated a moment before pressing the button. "Communication is key," he sighed quietly to Azoth. "It'll be easier for us if we work together, not independently." With that, he gently pressed the button down and prepared for the next riddle.

Anonymous then smiled as soon as Geata pressed the button; he snapped his finger and changed the scenery around them into a different place. Soon both Azoth and Geata found themselves standing in front of a deadend neighborhood with five houses standing before them. If they looked at each other, they’ll see the both of them are wearing a police uniform. Behind them are the patrol car and a long street with people and building appeared behind the police’s yellow tape. Anonymous then approached them in his usual clothe behind the crowd as some of the photographer taking picture of them. Once he made it through the yellow tape, he pulled out a small notepad: “Well, I did what you asked and interview everyone here about the perp, it isn’t much but I’m sure you two can handle it.” he then cleared his throat as he began to read from the notepad: “So here’s the situation: the Emerald City Bank got a break in, and the perpetrator got away with one of the safe-deposit box containing eight pawns pieces made of pure solid gold. We managed to track him back to the neighborhood right before you,” he pointed to the five identical houses before them as he continued, “Unfortunately, this is where our trail gone cold. We only have one search warrant prepare; if we got the wrong house, by the time we get a new warrant, the perpetrator would get away and we might never find him again, so please choose carefully. Now, from what I managed to gather from those folks back there, they said that they saw our perp running down this street with the safe-deposit box, so we are certain one of them is the guy. We know that each house belonged to five different ethnicity people, they decorated their interior wall in different color, drink different type of beverages, own different pets and work different type of job. Here’s the list of what they are,” He then handed Azoth a piece of notepaper with many words written on them in a list: - Colors: red, blue, yellow, green, white
- Ethnicities: Caucasian, African American, Asian, Native American, Hispanic
- Beverage: milk, tea, coffee, water, wine
- Jobs: pawnshop owner, actress, priest, night-security, construction worker
- Pets: cat, dog, fish, bird, hamster
“Now don’t worry, from our investigation we found out the perpetrator was the pawnshop owner, but since he had a bogus home address and such, we have no information on him. We know that one of them is the pawnshop owner, that much is certain, so we just need to find out which house is the pawnshop owner live and you’ll get those gold pawns back. From what I’ve gathered, here’s what we know” He then gave another piece of note with a list written on them:
- The Native American has a huge fish collection
- The African-American is the night-security guard
- The Hispanic live right next to the house with blue wall
- The Asian drink tea
- The green-wall owner drinks coffee
- The bird owner is the construction worker
- The hamster-owner live next door to the guy who drink water
- The yellow-wall house owner loves cats
- The guy with his pet hamster live next to the priest
- The guy lives in the middle drink milk
- The Hispanic live on the house address 1
- The house with green wall is directly to the left of the white wall
- The Caucasian lives in a house with red wall
- The dog-lover love his wine
- The actress live next to the cat’s owner
“Well, that’s all I got for you. You better hurry; we only have about thirty minutes before the perp got away from us once again.” And just like that, the front window of the patrol car turned into a big digital clock that started to count down from 30 minutes.

Azoth narrowed her gaze at the papers. She glanced once up at the houses to confirm their number to the number listed on the paper, and found what she saw to coincide with this piece’s riddle. Unlike the last two puzzles, confusion was not among her reactions. She’d seen problems like this before; they were simple information sorting puzzles. Anonymous had given them thirty minutes. This would be easy. Azoth, by now, had almost forgotten that she was on Geata’s back. She let go and made to get down, and sat down on the ground beside him. All she needed was a bit of writing room; she remained within arms length of him, just in case. She spawned a notepad and pencil, and began to quickly copy down both the contents of both slips of paper. Once she was done, the notepad vanished. She handed the papers Anonymous had given her to Geata. With the information stored with her power, she was able to sort it as such. Anonymous would see a brain pattern similar to when she had gone through the more than a hundred pages of information she’d given him that night in Happy Land a while back; a swift shifting and cataloging of the ‘code’ her power acted on. What she obtained from the notepad was cut and moved around until everything lined up neatly in a comprehensible diagram. It’d taken her about two minutes to copy the contents of the pages. Approximately thirty seconds after the pad had vanished, she stood up and held out her hand, and in it formed a simple white piece of paper. The words on it were organized into five columns and looked as though they’d been stamped by a typewriter; Azoth’s standard font and what all her given messages were written in. She passed it to Geata with a simple “Here.” It read as follows: House 1 | House 2 | House 3 | House 4 | House 5 | Yellow Hispanic Water Cat Priest | Blue Asian Tea Hamster Actress | Red Caucasian Milk Bird Construction Worker | Green Native American Coffee Fish Pawnshop Owner | White African American Wine Dog Night-security |
Number four was circled with a black pen. She’d already double checked to make sure it lined up with all the rules. Barring some strange, illogical rule from Anonymous, she was certain it was correct. “Therefore number four is the pawnshop owner.” Her voice was still expressionless, but she bounced once up on her heels.

Anonymous clapped his hand as soon as she handed him the paper; the code pattern that he saw in her head really looked as if she had a super computer inside her head. Another good thing to notice is that her power seems to require an actual physical object in her hand, seeing how she’s unable to activate her power from his illusion notepaper. This could explain how she’s able to tell an illusion appeared before her by examine if she can get any physical data on them with her power. Thus, if he want to completely fool her with his power, he need to turn his illusion into real thing. But that’ll be a topic for another time, there’s still thing he need to deal with.
“See?” Anonymous said to Azoth, “now this is what I’m expecting a Keeper to be. It’s seems that your mind are not open to all possibilities, thus you only able to solve thing logically rather than using your imagination. But hey, that lecture will be for another time.”
He snapped his finger and return them all back to the chess board, where there’re now six pawns pieces appeared on their side of the board.
“Well, since you got what left of your pawns back, I hope you don’t mind me taking the other pieces that you haven’t gotten back yet as a penalty for your wrong answer. Who am I kidding? Of course you don’t mind. Three down, three more to go, and time is ticking, so choose your next piece.”

Geata didn't really care about the scenery change. Houses,a crowd, police uniforms, Anonymous giving them pieces of paper with all kinds of information. The masked super looked over it all once before coming to a conclusion.
The premise for the game was so full of holes it was worse than a camp for juvenile delinquents in Texas.
Luckily, Azoth climbing down from his back brought Geata out of making a mental list of every plot hole that was ultimately going to be unimportant in every way. Unluckily, he had gotten used to her being on his back and was left feeling odd. He couldn't exactly place the feeling, but he supposed it was a mix between feeling exposed and incomplete. It was strange to him and he didn't much care for it. Although he supposed it was a good thing Azoth had room to do her work, since he couldn't distract himself from how apparently the people in the crowd knew exactly what certain people drank, but they couldn't give anything else actually useful.
When Azoth handed off her results, Geata compared them to what he had figured out as she declared which house it was. He had managed to narrow it down to either house 4 or house 1, but he hadn't been nearly as fast at figuring everything out as she had. When Anonymous revealed that she had been correct, Geata smiled. "Way to go, kiddo," he said quietly, in part to spite the faceless super and what he had been saying. "Alright, so I picked the last one. Your turn, Azoth."

There always came a point at which Azoth began to tune out the insults. Proud mob bosses she needed the assistance of, aristocrats she needed the favor of, despite them seeing her as little more than a child in a nice dress. It was either she made someone regret they’d ever spoke to her in the first place or she set it aside. Recently the prior had been gaining in its employment, but the present situation required the later. She told herself again, it was fine if Anonymous underestimated her. Good, even, and a compliment from Geata went a long way to making it more palatable. She smiled slightly and nodded.
Azoth stood. Still fearing distance and separation from Geata, she surveyed the remaining three pieces from a distance; tower, bishop, and queen. She had no particular inkling towards one or another, but no reason to stop to make a careful decision. Her choice was made almost at random. A small cube of metal formed above and fell on the bishop.

As soon as he saw Azoth’s chunk of metal fall to the location of the pedestal where the bishop is, Anonymous laughed as he snapped his finger to change the scenery again. Soon both Azoth and Geata will find themselves inside a big cathedral in an old Renaissance architecture style. On either side of them are row after row of long benches arrange for the audience during a sermon, ahead of them is a big altar with a huge pipe organ stretching all the way up the ceiling.
From the ceiling above hang three glass chandeliers in a row, each let out a haunting that make the shadow on the wall dance in a satanic ritual around them. Two white marble statues stood on opposite side of the wall; their faces stared deep into their souls, breathing out a low whispering chant through their motionless lips. The air in the church gave them the unnerving feeling of burden, despair and hopelessness, churning their stomach as the endless ocean wave crashing over and over. Each time they took a step, the clasping sound echoed through the marble wall, resonance into a haunting melody.
On top of the altar stand a single white bishop, trap inside a small dome made of glass. The glass sits still inside a transparent tabernacle trim with gold lining and red velvet display. As soon as both of them establish their surrounding, Anonymous’ whisper echoing through the chamber wall, amplifying the volume so that both of them could clearly make out his word:
“You’re just in time for our sermon, my brother and sister. Praise be the lord, our Father in heaven, and pray for our prosperity in the future. Amen. Please, let the music from the organ resonated across our holy church, so that our Father in heaven can hear its heavenly chime. Only by playing a series of chords in order will set your spirit free from the glass prison that we’ve built for ourself.”
A flash of lightning lights up the stain-glass window above them as soon as he finished, and the roaring crash of thunder break through the silence as a small hourglass appeared next to the organ. The hourglass turned, and the sand started to drop rapidly to the glass below, signaling their time ticking away.

Geata returned Azoth's nod with one of his own and watched as she stood. Nothing happened for a moment, and then suddenly another change in scenery. This time, they were in a cathedral. It was the first time that Geata had ever been in one, even if it was just an illusion. And given the intimidating, creepy feeling that the place was putting off, he felt reasonable in assuming that Anonymous didn't have a particularly high opinion of religion. Interesting, but probably ultimately useless.
The explanation of the riddle was something else that Geata felt that way about. Interesting set up, but there were a few slight problems. For one, thinking back, there weren't any obvious clues that came to mind. Not that he was going to complain about that. He'd likely just be told that it was his fault if he didn't remember anyway. The other obvious issue he had no qualms about being vocal about, though.
"There's a difference between being able to solve a riddle and being able to play an instrument," he said aloud flatly. "So unless you can teach me how to play the organ before time runs out, I'm gonna have to say that this one is definitely rigged in your favor."
