Bloodbath whimpered as his attacks basically bounced off, he was wasting too much blood for all this.
The sudden roar caught his attention, drawing him toward the Horizon Building. A giddy smile split his face as he advanced, weaving through spikes and flinging himself over anything too high to just jump over.
Anything near him would be drained in an instant, but he wouldn't notice...his eyes were on the dragon.

Seraphim knew that there were people trapped inside of Shiro Tower, and that it was likely they were going to be turned into thralls because of the dragon's power, but she opted not to say anything. Given how hesitant they were to attack the thralls themselves, she figured they would prioritize saving the civilians over killing the dragon, which would only cause more damage in the end. It was also why she didn't even acknowledge the machine's warning before. No one needed to know about what was going on in Shiro Tower, it was not at all relevant to the fight. However, they found out anyway much to her displeasure and acted predictably. The battlefield was going to be more chaotic, it would be more difficult for many of the supers to fight because they're going to have to worry about hitting civilians now, and they're going to be worried about protecting those civilians instead of beating the dragon, which will in turn only hurt the civilians. They could not afford to be kind to a dragon, ever, but she doubted they would learn that lesson until they took several losses from the creatures. One wouldn't be enough, or rather, it wasn't enough from what she could read of the situation. She reached for her communicator and spoke quietly. She didn't care if anyone else heard, but there wasn't much point, these words were only meant for people in Rein.
"The Seraphim speaking. I've been separated from the main group, but I'm having no trouble seeing what's going on. I'll regroup when it's convenient. Someone freed the trapped civilians in Shiro Tower. We need to funnel them away from the battle so the other fighters aren't distracted. I'll try to clear a path. The rest of you, either help me or force them towards my location."
With that, Seraphim started shooting at any thralls or any part of the dragon that got too close. It was still difficult to read, but as long as she wasn't trying to read a mass of thralls too she should be able to manage.

Fleet had just started to circle back into the thick of things when a cry rose up that the dragon was in Horizon Building! How exciting!
Fleet ran, barely slipping on the soaked ground as he approached. He knew exactly where the building was, even as the fog engulfed him and the thralls.

After crashing through several floors worth of offices, Zenith eventual reached the ground level. She lost consciousness somewhere along the way, and required a moment to recuperate upon waking. Most notably, the previously injured hand was once again out of commission, but that problem would resolve itself soon enough.
While she waited for her innate healing process to being, she listened to Seraphim's orders and began preparations how to organize the civilians. Assuming the layout of the city had not changed since she was out, Zenith knew how to divert the prisoners away from most of the conflict. Personally, she didn't care about this new distraction, but of those available, she had plenty of time to lend a hand and immediately return to battle.
"Zenith reporting in. Will guide the civilians away from any potential conflict."
After communicating her intent to the other agents, Zenith sped towards the escaping crowd. Fortunately, she was already near the tower. Going at a tenth of her maximum running speed would easily allow her to catch up. Once she eventually found them, her sensors should be enough to spot any that happened to be infected, just to make sure they didn't cause any trouble.

The spikes caught Balance off guard. She gasped in pain as sharp needles dug into her body. One of the larger spikes stabbed though her stomach, pinning her to the wall behind her. The karma warrior's mind was reeling. The blood loss was making it dance on the razor edge of consciousness. No, she will not die her. No now. With that determination, she gritted her teeth and began walking forward. Slowly she was able to pull herself off the spike, leaving a gaping wound in her stomach. You could see flesh, fat and organs through the opening. She grimaced and held one of her arms over the hole. Her healing abilities were beginning to close the hole as she shuffled towards the nearest tower. Once she neared the tower all she had to do was touch it. Unfortunately all she could do was flop against Shiro Tower. As her breath grew ragged she pressed her bare forehead against the brick and focused her strength.

Limen lowered her bow slowly. Lust had left moments before, taking the fog that had settled in and been accepted in Limen’s mind with each departing step. The number rang in her ears above everything else, burning deeply into her memory even as “Rook” began to flood back into her. She began processing all that had happened as Rook, and with it came the tenseness in her muscles from the fear that’d been kept at bay. And an edginess, centered around what Lust had done.
Limen raised her hand gingerly to her lips. Her nerves were still raw from where Lust had pressed hers to them.
“Fuck, Lust kissed me.” She muttered aloud.
Her voice caught, in surprise, lingering adrenaline, and a deeper, far more ingrained fear she’d felt the flickers of during the kiss. She had shut them down then; now, that she had been able to do so only added atop the mounting unease.
But the catch was not entirely from that. All of her mind that had not been set on shooting the distant target had been placed on Lust, leaving little for even basic situational awareness that did not relate to one of those two points. It was as thought a blanket had been pulled back from the area around her, and, as it turned out, the area was thick with spores. Who knew how long they had been wafting into the level opened to the air? Time enough that they had settled onto her skin and in her lungs.
The adrenaline mixed with fatigue in her limbs, and she had to lower herself down to her knees and slid carefully off the desk to avoid falling. Leaning against a nearby cubicle wall, Limen coughed violently.
She was exhausted, physically as well as mentally. This had been so fun just moments ago. Now she wanted coffee and her laptop, and a few lonely hours to unwind to long pages of code. But, more than that…
Limen turned to the one other person in the room. Her mind already made susceptible by Lust, Limen didn’t even register the quiet suggestions passed to her from a distant voice. She simply acted. Limen picked herself up from the cubicle wall, swaying for a moment before she caught herself, and paced purposefully towards Envy. She had seen it in the woman’s eyes; she had been hurt by Lust. Limen's face was blank save for one eyebrow, knitted ever slightly upwards. Inwardly, what didn’t feel like it was falling apart was awash with unwanted emotions and memories. Limen needed it, and the back part of her mind said the woman needed it too.
The spores that might seek others didn’t register in the slightest. Somewhere along the way her hand had released her bow, letting it clatter to the ground. If she was able, Limen would embrace the woman, wrapping her arms tight around her shoulders and resting her chin on the woman’s right. “I’m sorry.” She whispered, not knowing what else to say.

Unhallow could no longer keep track of what was going on. Their senses, the very thing that should be giving them all the advantage in the world, were turning against them. The level of detail that they saw meant that there was no end to the dragon or many of the things that it created. When the spores got into their skin, that pattern applied to their own body too. Suddenly, Unhallow was also infinite spirals and they could no longer tell where their own limbs where. They briefly tried to move, but that just resulted in them falling face first near the edge of the roof. It was an absolutely surreal feeling, one they weren't sure they'd ever be able to describe. At the very least, it seemed unlikely that something like this would last long in their body. For the same reason they never got sick anymore, their power tended to annihilate anything that came into close contact with them like this.

It took a lot of bangs, a lot of squeezing that poor trigger, and a whole lot of hyper-accelerated lead to do the job, but eventually the Shiro Tower's foundations began to crumble, unable to withstand both the deformation of their structure by the dragon's influence and the sudden punishment being inflicted by Rainfall. She could hear an ominous rumbling up above, a sign that the whole structure was about to come down.
Calmly, she turned and strode back down the tunnel, Bearfucker still held at the ready. Behind her, chunks of stone and concrete fell as the devastation wrought by the supers, together with the instability caused by the dragon withdrawing its roots, left the network of bunkers and tunnels vulnerable, on the verge of collapse.
Rainfall, however, had taken care to work out an escape route before trying to bring down a building from underneath. A ladder in one of the nearby sewers, leading up to another manhole cover. Sticking her gun under one arm and scaling the ladder as fast as she could, the gunslinger shoved the metal plate aside and hauled herself back into rain and daylight.
She crouched there for a few moments, catching her breath and taking in the battlefield.
Somehow or other, the heroes were winning. Some had fallen, infected or wounded or trapped by walls of thorns, but most fought on, slashing and burning and ruining the dragon, forcing it back towards the Horizons building. Seemed like she'd taken a major wrong turn or two down in the tunnels. Rainfall spat onto the asphalt, then smiled, quietly laughing to herself. Bad luck for her, she wouldn't get to call her shotgun Dragonfucker just yet. Still, it was uplifting, seeing the tide finally turn against the monster. Just a little more, and they'd expose its main body. Then, perhaps, they could end the thing for good.
Wearily, she stood up. Her muscles ached, and her nose was practically fried by all the dust and vile scents that had passed through it over the past few minutes, but she could still help out, here. Many smaller structures still crawled with the dragon's corruption, vines and roots threading through them to flank the heroes with spikes. Which they wouldn't get away with- not on her watch.
Lifting up her shotgun once again, Rainfall stood up and trudged down the road, dead-set on finding and ending as many odds and ends of the dragon as she could manage before the damn thing finally died.

"Cooooome and get me!"
The thralls charged through the building, knocking over desks and chairs in their reckless haste as they pursued the teasing, taunting, tantalizing temptress who'd somehow managed to provoke them into a maddened, no-holds-barred assault. Lust's power couldn't override the dragon's control so easily- it'd take at least a few more minutes of exposure to make them her thralls, if she were to try that -but it could still fixate the infested minions on her, and lessen their ability to interpret and carry out complex orders.
Now, they sprinted after her, always one step behind the wily, agile Lust. She laughed, that high, clear sound so much like a bell, even as her lithe body twisted and danced around fists and claws and globs of acid.
"Too fat!" She rapped her knuckles against the hardened shell of an armored thrall. "Too thin!" She leaped into the air, vaulting straight over a swift, gaunt creature. "Too lopsided!" A deft slap to the mostly-human cheek of an incomplete thrall. Her actions only served to enrage the human remnants of their minds even more, driving them into a frenzy as she rushed ahead of them, hair streaming out behind her.
Then stopped, turned, and posed provocatively. "Well? Aren't you going to try and change my mind?"
As one, they charged, their minds reduced to mush that barely even registered the cracked windows behind her. Lust let them get close, very close, so close it was dangerous, before suddenly swinging out of the way and letting them crash straight into the glass. The impact of the thralls immediately shattered it, sending them tumbling out the window onto the array of dragon-spikes below.
She gave them a little wave as they fell. "Thanks for the dance!"
Now, where had her more supple toys gotten to?

Plague Doctor turned white underneath his bird mask. This was the girl that he had fought months ago. The one who made him question his own morality. "...you." He hissed from behind his mask. A long healed wound igniting the spark of pain inside him as if it was fresh. "If we weren't going to die," Began the Doctor. "I would put you away myself." He finished. When he had failed his attack on the building, he felt it might be better to begin warding people off.
He summoned virus around him in almost a shield. Invisible to the human eye. He had hoped that these viruses would be enough to shield himself from he and his allies. Anything that would walk through it would be hit by a menagerie of diseases. Mainly fast acting stomach flu mixed with chicken pox.

Post by Blue Jay on Oct 13, 2016 23:48:41 GMT -7
Then, as quickly as Blue Jay came, he vanished. He didn’t even bother letting go of Geata or saying goodbye (he was realizing in this hello that it was probably more than enough; he was getting that weird feeling like he might regret this later, like when one realizes the leftovers they’re halfway through were actually a few days older than they thought when they pulled them out of the fridge), he just up and teleported again, landing a number of feet to Geata’s right before displacing off.
In all of that, Blue Jay had lost track of why exactly he’d gone over to that general area, let alone Geata, in the first place. It felt like he’d stuck his head in mud, and couldn’t quite remember why he’d done that either. He shook his head in the hopes it would clear it. At least his goal was pretty clear - kill the dragon - as were his means - swing the sword in its general direction. The large targets looked pretty well taken care of, especially if that crash from the tower was anything to go by. Blue Jay returned to what he’d been up to before - playing a bit more of a supportive role by doing exactly what he’d been trying not to do, prior to this fight. Namely, destroy every small building in his path.
He focused on the most spiky ones, teleporting to the top of a neighbouring building before swiping a shockwave at one of the rebellious office buildings with a local business on the ground floor. He saw a couple of people on his venture to level a small handful of buildings, and similarly considered greeting them kindly, for moral or something like that probably, but he decided that was likely an invasion of personal space and an unneeded distraction for both of them. He carried on his own business as they did theirs.
That is, until he came upon a certain influential super. Blue Jay displaced to the rooftop kiddy corner to the one Aurora Disicio resided atop and caught the super out of the corner of his eye. Registering her presence was akin to spotting a unicorn; caught by surprise (even though he’d been vaguely aware that she’d been nearby), he turned to assure it was indeed Aurora. It was - and Blue Jay was about to store this away as interesting but ultimately useless information when he was struck with an overwhelming need to be comradely. This dragon was going to give its final gambit soon; they were going to need to work as a friendly team if they were going to beat it. The best and fastest way to do this was clear.
Blue Jay teleported once more, appearing less than a foot away from Aurora. He gave her a warning, “Hello, Aurora!” at precisely the moment he gave her an enthusiastic hug. The kind that tended, and intended, to knock people to the ground because he put his weight into it. Even if said weight was feeling kinda dead, if the absent, half-asleep look in his eyes didn’t give that away. He was certain she would appreciate knowing that she had an ally in him for this fight.

At this point, Aurora was sure she found a way to get to the dragon. It was doing well to protect itself like that, but with as quickly as she was making progress with one of the towers, she was sure she'd find a few cracks to let her aurora seep into. Thus, rather than keep it around her, she sent it through the area quickly so that it could get into those cracks before the dragon could cover them up again. She was careful not to have it run through the supers, but she did make an effort to make it run through the remaining thralls. Hopefully that would disable them enough to let everyone else do what they needed to do to finish cracking open the dragon's defenses. Her aurora wasn't with her anymore, but she was on the edge of the battlefield. It shouldn't be a problem, and if she needed to move quickly she could make some handholds in the surrounding buildings. She was just fine on her perch and saw no reason to move.
A reason came to her. Aurora stopped following Blue Jay once a swarm of him appeared. Plus, she didn't want to fixate on the spores. There was nothing more over here that had spores, so there was no reason to worry about it and most certainly no reason to think about it. She had to focus on the dragon, thinking about anything else just took away from that. However, suddenly he was right behind her spores and all. By the time she heard him, he was already close. By the time she turned around to look at him, he had already thrown his arms around her and was threatening to knock her over. She let out a burp as her body failed to throw up again, and her eyes widened. Once again, she started to panic, and her body started to move instinctively and almost involuntarily. She thrust her arms out in front of her in order to try to knock him away, then, without thinking, she kicked upward as hard as she could hitting Blue Jay below the belt if the kick connected.
"What the hell are you doing? Get the fuck away from me!"
Blue Jay wasn't a dragon. She had to stay on the battlefield, but she didn't have to stay here. Aurora quickly dissolved her coat again, almost immediately rematerializing it in her hands so that it wouldn't go join the rest of her aurora. Hopefully that would be enough to stop the spores from sinking into her clothes and skin this time. Her heart still pounding in her chest, she jumped off the side of the building and created a hole large enough for her to fit into a little lower down. It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't where those spores were, so it would be good enough. Once again, she was shaking and needed a moment to catch her breath. At this point, she was pretty sure even 100 baths wouldn't make her feel clean.

The situation is getting slightly worst now, what with all the civilians from the Shiro Tower now getting free when the Bulwark managed to find them getting trapped inside. At the least they’re going at it at all fronts and managed to deal quite a blow to the dragon’s attack. All it is doing now is fortifying the buildings that it took control over, possibly hiding behind them to protect itself from the assault. Unlike the last dragon, this one is quite elusive and let its minions doing the fight rather than itself.
Giza’s train of thought got interrupted when he saw Blue Jay appeared out of nowhere close to where Aurora is. With his first glance, he can easily tell the guy was under the dragon’s influence, and now he’s going straight for her. Giza only have a moment to take the action: using his power, he created a huge slap of stone protruding out between Blue Jay and Aurora, aiming the rock to strike at the bastard square right into his jaw, knocking him twenty feet into the air away from Arurora. The force impacting Blue Jay is strong enough that he could hear the sound of bone cracking right from where he stood. Because of his frustration, the rock formation keep heading toward the Shiro Tower, hitting anything in its way up into the air.
“Miss Aurora, are you alright?!” He quickly make his way to where she was.
Anyone nearby can hear the panic coming out from him; Blue Jay only managed to make a split-second of contact on her, he hoped he didn’t react too late. If Aurora got those spores coming out of Blue Jay, then he’ll be lucky if Giza actually let the bastard live after this fight. Even if the guy was under the dragon’s influence, he will never forgive him for it. The only thing that keep the guy alive right now is his promise to Aurora; otherwise Blue Jay will find himself a one-way ticket to fifty feet underground pushing up daisy right about now.
