Housing is expensive, especially for poor student supers whose income for all their hard work totals at innacurate newspaper stories. If you’ve got a housing dilemma, Kasty here has a bit of a work around that I don’t see why couldn’t be someone else’s work around as well. Plus it could make for some interesting character interactions and that’s always a good thing.
Kasty lives with his aunt in a large boarding house at the edge of the suburbs. Aunt Nora is an older super, now reaching into her early fourties. In her youth she was a skilled thief and, though she didn’t hurt people if possible, would steal large sums of money from the wealthy and banks. She’d given the impression of spending that money frivolously, but in reality she’d actually been building up a large retirement. The time came for her to leave the business, and so she faked her super persona’s death, payed off anyone who knew how to find her, bought a large house on a nice plot of land, and turned it into a boarding house. Though she’ll accept unpowereds as well, her main goal of the boarding house was to offer a safe haven to supers. She even offers free rent if resident supers help out with upkeep and cooking; she’s got enough money left to keep that place running for decades. She’s got a couple rules in place for any resident supers to keep order, like “don’t destroy anything” and “don’t reveal the identities of the other residents or face the wrath of Aunt Nora”, but the major one is “this is neutral ground; no fighting”. This isn’t always easy, as she’ll take anyone from any faction so long as they follow her rules.
For obvious reasons the house is a fairly well-kept secret by current and past residents, and those who presently live there usually were either referred by a friend or contacted by Aunt Nora directly.
If you’d like in on this deal, send me a PM or post here and we’ll make it official! : D
Both Aunt Nora and the house are very free for development/controlling/whatever. Aunt Nora's powers have been decided to be Tactile Telekinesis.
List of Residents (to keep life organized):
Minerva "Minnie" Wells
Kasty Doherty
Tristan Carter
Samantha Lobo
Hercules Straxios
Edgar Pointdexter
