After he’d regained his verticality and sword from the apartment building he’d landed in, Blue Jay stepped out over the broken glass of the shattered window and walked out into the battlefield. There was only one thing keeping him from departing immediately; the status of his friends. Neither Titan nor Lobisomem were to be found among the crowd. He hadn’t the slightest idea where they could be, meaning he was going to have to ask people.
He was left speechless for nearly half a minute the first time someone asked him how he was still alive, and when he did begin his explanation, he fell over his words. Had he not been fairly dehydrated, he probably would’ve had to fight off tears again.
The first four people he asked hadn’t any idea where the two he was looking for had ended up. The fifth person he approached was one he had seen on the battlefield, and would have been worried for if not for the obvious power that signaled she was still alive.
He offered his hand to Aurora if she needed it. “Have you seen the wolf super or Titan?” He asked without greeting. His voice sounded distant, and his expression was equally so.

Giza panted from exhausting, but he still managed to let out a smile under his mask. They did it, the dragon has been defeated; thanks to all of their effort combine, the dragon collapse on its own black hole and explode into a bright light. He was tired; both from fighting all night and the traumatic experience that he went through because of its deafening roar.
He turned to look for Miss Aurora, the very reason why he was out here joining the fight in the first place. The suburb area are in ruin, with multiple building still on fire from the dragon’s volatile blood oozing everywhere, and many more were destroyed during the fight.
Finding Miss Aurora was slightly hard, but soon he managed to find the aurora that she usually gives off. As he approached her, he saw one of the Bulwarks also get close to her and talked to her. He couldn’t hear what the guy was saying, since his ears are still ringing from the dragon’s screech, but from the sight of the sword at his side he can already guess who it was.
He quickly stood in between the Bulwark and Miss Aurora, looking at the guy in a hateful glare underneath his ceramic mask. Even though he can’t hear anything, he can still talk to the guy:
“You leave her be, Blue Jay,” he said in a threatening tone, “she doesn’t need your help.”

Aurora continued to gather more rubble from the ruined buildings to increase the size of her aurora as it drilled through the dragon. There was no reason to stop, this thing was on its last legs and cleaning up the area was one of the next steps once this was over. Sure enough, the supers' attacks ripped through the thing and it finally collapsed. The resulting explosion from the dragon's body returning to reality was enough to knock her back. A few quick steps prevented her form falling back into the hole she just escaped from, but now she was like a turtle that somehow rolled onto the back of its shell. It had gotten easier to get up since she first got shot, but with that dragon aggravating the injuries, it didn't feel that different from when it first happened. Before she could try to roll over, she felt something brush up against her foot. It was a round black bag, and Aurora's face immediately flattened when she saw it. There were very few things it could be.
"You did that on purpose didn't you?"
She sounded almost furious, because she was, but that fury wasn't because of Dullahan. He just happened to be the closest thing to her at the moment. The feeling died down quickly, though the fire was still in her stomach. In the end, she didn't feel much of anything about this victory besides anger that they even had to win in the first place. There was no satisfaction, no joy in this fight, and the only good thing about this outcome was that they wouldn't be dead. She was angry that these things had the audacity to even exist. Her mind already moved onto what she had to do next. First, she wanted to make sure no one was dying and that the supers that were hurt would get proper healing. Second, she wanted to clean up this entire area, to remove all the rubble. But first she had to get up again.
A hand was extended to her, the voice a bit of a dull roar in her ears because of what happened with the communication devices. Another figure, Giza based on the cape and the sound of the voice, stepped between her and the other person. Aurora rolled her eyes, but before she could chastise him for acting so petty in a situation like this, the name he mentioned registered in her mind. She did a double take at the other figure, blinking several times with her eyes wide. She rolled over onto her side, pulling herself up so she could at least sit.
"You're not dead," she stated simply, completely dumbfounded by this situation.
After staring slackjawed for a moment, she shook her head, called her aurora towards her, and looked at Giza. She materialized her extremely well-stocked first aid kit into her hands. It wasn't as good as having a healer, but it might at least let the healers focus on the more severe cases while the people that could used mundane means to at least keep the others stable.
"Giza!" she shouted louder than usual because of her own hearing problems. "Take this to someone that can use it if you can't use it yourself, like...Limen. She supposedly knows how to use all this. I'm going to make sure no one got buried," she shoved the first aid kit into his hands and then turned back to Blue Jay. "No. With supers that big, I suspect they're either deep under some rubble or got thrown pretty far away. I'll keep an eye out while I clean up."

As the supers who had brought the dragon down scattered throughout the area to help the wounded and search for lost allies, one figure entered the battlefield and walked with purpose toward where the dragon had made its last stand. The figure was that of a girl wearing the uniform of a junior high school on Malachite Isle, a civilian to all appearances, but the detached amusement with which she viewed the carnage hinted at her true nature.
Sin Eater had arrived.
"Hm, I'm a bit late to the party," she mused. At times and places like this, her power was almost overwhelming with the amount of information it gave her. The surrounding buildings were so badly shattered that it would take dozens upon dozens of uses of Sin Eater's power to put it all back together. And while dead people were invisible to Sin Eater's power, she detected several aching points of grief through the area, signifying that this battle had not been won without casualties among the combatants. That was atop the multitude of physical wounds she detected, some already healing themselves, and some so severe that the subjects could only barely cling to life.
Sin Eater altered her course until she felt herself approaching one of the worse clusters of physical wounds, and she smiled as she saw the subject. There were other supers there, perhaps protecting the wounded fighter from further harm, but Sin Eater ignored them as she knelt by Unhallow's side.
The other girl was in a coma, her rest untroubled in the way that only someone with a clean conscience could ever be. It would be a kindness to let her die here with no regrets, having clearly given the fight everything she had. No more loneliness, no more frustration, no more worrying about who would be inadvertently hurt.
Instead, Sin Eater used her power to relieve Unhallow's concussion and cranial damage. She felt a dull ache behind her eyes as she divided the damage between them, allowing Unhallow to regain consciousness while not yet knocking out Sin Eater herself.
The rest of the physical damage was left in place, but Sin Eater did bring the full force of her power to bear on Unhallow's mind. Some of the emotions that welled up as she regained consciousness weren't ones that Sin Eater could absorb, but the discomfort itself was still fair game. Unhallow would feel no physical pain upon waking, and whatever went through her mind, she wouldn't be able to find it unpleasant. The combination of physical and emotional pain that assaulted Sin Eater would have been enough to make most people scream, but by this point she had become so desensitized that she hardly noticed it.
Instead, she smiled brightly down at the broken and bloodied figure before her.
"Looks like you don't get to die just yet."

With the dragon’s demise, HaLOS turned off the flame-thrower on its back and put it back to the hatch before closing it. The wave when the dragon imploded in on itself almost flipped the bulldozer onto its side; HaLOS can tell that the vehicle’s side was lifted up for about three inches before falling down again. Once the wave finally over, HaLOS scanned the area to make sure the dragon is truly gone, even measuring the seismograph to see if the dragon burrow itself. After some time of scanning, no sign were detected:
“Scanning complete, no vital sign of intended target. Conclusion: target have been neutralized, primary goal success; transferring data collected from the fight into memory file…”
As it tried to record all the data it got not just from the dragon, but also the supers involving in the fight, HaLOS hit a little problem:
“Error! Not enough memory space to store all data, must delete unwanted file; scanning for deletion…scanning complete: deletion of unwanted file, data can now be saved, transferring now.”
With that over, HaLOS drove the bulldozer out of the suburb and head back to the Keeper’s headquarter. Even though the bulldozer was poorly design, it believe the bulldozer can be modify base on the schematic of the vehicle. HaLOS is intended to turn this bulldozer into a truly chilling weapon of war, preparing for the next time it might need such a thing.

Post by Unhallow on Jul 14, 2016 20:27:01 GMT -7
For the longest time there was nothing, then slowly, Unhallow was able to see the world again and even hear it to some extent thanks to the damage in their costume. Even with their consciousness returning, they were having difficulty making any sense of the world around them. It was still just a chaotic mess of rapidly moving particles that took a great deal of effort to piece together. It was similar to having their vision turned upside down; it was weird, but if they focused enough they could fit enough pieces together to figure out what was going on. Unhallow thought they were already seeing atoms, but these particles were even smaller. Were they wrong about what they were seeing?
It took a few minutes for them to get a good look at the battlefield. They could make out people, but making out the features on most of them was difficult. There were several odd shapes laying about, but they couldn't feel anything that resembled the bizarre sensations the dragon gave off. Despite that, they felt entirely calm, and continued to try to get a better look at the people nearby. Two of them had unusual biology, so they were able to be identified quickly. One was Arcanum, one was Anonymous. For the first time, Unhallow felt nothing about Anonymous being nearby. It was odd. The last took a little longer because they had to piece together the face. It was Sin Eater, which explained why they were awake now and why their entire body didn't hurt. They still felt a little dazed, but that was to be expected after waking up after something like this. Unhallow spoke weakly, making it obvious that their lungs were still having difficulty inflating. Despite the subject matter, there was no hint of alarm in their voice. Their voice sounded different too. With the voice modulator destroyed along with the rest of their helmet, their voice sounded human for once. It was obviously feminine despite being on the deeper end for a girl. "Where did the dragon go? I can't see it." Unhallow tried to sit up, only to flop back down after raising their head less than an inch. "I can't move."

Anonymous was almost knock back from the sudden vision that he saw in the dragon’s thought; it was a tangle mess, and come all at once, making him disoriented from what he could make sense out of them all. All he could tell is that he was fighting with the other supers, but for what reason he isn’t very clear. Could the dragon giving him some kind of a premonition to things to come? This creature’s very own thought was an enigma that even Anonymous couldn’t quite get a hold off. He turned away right before the dragon let out a sudden bright light as it was imploding on itself, and as quickly as it arrive, the creatures was gone.
The dragon didn’t really leave anything behind other than the mess and its flammable blood all over the place. Either the dragon returned back to whatever place it crawl out of, or they all have managed to destroy it before it can go all supernova on them. Anonymous let out a smile, but still feel as though something was very strange, especially what he just saw on its head.
His train of thought was interrupted when he heard a girl voice from behind him. He turned around and noticed that Unhallow was awake, and was the one speaking; so Unhallow was a girl after all:
“Well looks like Sleeping Beauty finally wake up,” he said to her, “the dragon is gone; not sure if it ran away or dead, but it’s gone now. I wouldn’t move around too much if I were you, seeing how you managed to get your back broken. So unless you want to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair, which would be hilarious by the way, just relax and let the adults handle this.”
He then turned to the other two Keepers and tipped his fedora slightly toward them:
“Now, if you all excuse me, I have to make sure if I still have a bed to go back to. Ladies?”
With that “fondling” farewell, Anonymous walked away from them. He turned back to Unhallow one final time before leaving:
“I’m glad that you’re okay, kid.”

Toko was honestly glad he had gone with his original strategy of waiting until half way to fight, otherwise they would potentially have more debts owed to some of these healers. And he was more than certain that half of them would not accept someone being killed as a favor. But they were not injured too badly, nothing he couldn't handle and they had come out with payment and potential resources. Speaking of which. He went back to a ruined building and recovered the scorched luggage that was his rifle case.
"Shame, appears I may have to make another rifle and case."
With a sigh, he walked back to the flaming pile of blackened organs and taking out a scalpel carved from some bones to begin slicing a few samples off into some vials, perhaps he could make new ammo with it in preparation for the next attack or target. Though this wasn't his main target, no there was a super that had been torn in half by the dragon, and though he would have a small moment of remembrance for him later, he could not let that potential go to waste. Though now that he looked around where he knew the body had fallen he could find only a small amount of dust trails from where it had been blown away by the dragon.
"Well either this is his remains or some simple dust...waste not want not."
With a shrug, he pulled out a brush from his case and used it to pull in some of it to a vial before placing both back in his case and standing up.
"Kaz our job is complete, let's head back."
He figured the psycho could hear him from where ever he was and began the trek back to one of their hideouts, he had research to do.

"Sorry," Sin Eater said with an apologetic smile down at Unhallow. "The others already took care of it. But you can still make yourself useful. Take my body back to the Sanctum, won't you?"
She didn't wait for a reply. Instead, she focused her power on Unhallow's armor. Wounds began appearing on Sin Eater's body. Half her face suddenly darkened with a deep bruise, her bones underneath the skin breaking apart. She tasted blood as her voicebox collapsed. More bruises and broken bones spread down her body, and her legs visible under her skirt turned red and black with severe burns.
Brushing off the pain, Sin Eater moved her focus to Unhallow herself. One by one, the other girl's wounds moved themselves to Sin Eater. By the end, Sin Eater was laying bloodied and half-paralyzed on the ground. The combination of healing the armor and healing Unhallow were too much for her system to handle, and her body went limp as she died. Unhallow was left completely healed, but bereft of the comforting effects of Sin Eater's power.

"Why would I worry about injuries?" Unhallow sounded genuinely confused.
So the dragon was gone. That was good. They were both relieved that it was gone and happy that they were actually able to fight a dragon and win. The injuries meant nothing. Time and time again the Keepers had proven that they didn't need to worry about getting hurt. As long as they survived it would be fixed. The fact that they were able to survive meant that they could actually fight dragons; that their power could actually be useful for something rather than being pointlessly destructive. It meant that all the efforts to contain their power so it could still be used when it was important was worth it.
Sin Eater's request would normally have them apologetic and upset, but they were unable to feel such things at the moment. Thus, they didn't feel anything at all. Their voice reflected this, with perhaps a little bit of their happiness from being able to fight a dragon.
"Okay."
Once Sin Eater flopped on the ground, all their emotions returned at once. The panic at the fact that Anonymous was watching them sleep, and probably heard their voice. The guilt for having killed Sin Eater. Again. The guilt from having Arcanum watching them, as well as the expression she seemed to have. The sadness of what happened here, with what the dragon managed to do. The emptiness that came with knowing they didn't have a home to go back to anymore, or even a family. The utter despair when they remembered that the last thing they said to their parents was an effective temper tantrum about not wanting to go on a family vacation because they knew they couldn't get on a plane anymore, but couldn't explain it to them. The sudden burst of emotions was enough that they still didn't move for a little while in order to regain control of themselves. They had something to do, now was not the time to be worrying about this other stuff. Carefully, Unhallow picked up Sin Eater and held her out in front of them in order to minimize the damage they'd cause. It was a futile effort at this point, with as large as their range was getting, but they figured they might as well. This happened enough that Unhallow knew exactly where to take her at least.
