Lobisomem slammed through the vines, whimpering in confusion as the voices suddenly stopped, and the vines started shattering like glass. They paused until the moaning of metal told them all they needed to know.
Immediately, they rushed out, limbs stretched to their absolute limits as they dodged debris and rubble, finally bursting out just before the tower would have crushed them.
A surge of euphoria filled their veins, coming out as a howl to the sky, tail whipping in a way that almost looked like wagging.
They paused as they stepped on something soft, a thrall. The prospect of another snack sent the happiness sky high again and they moved a paw to roll it over.
Their eyes widened.
It had a human face. Lobisomem stumbled away, stomach clenching painfully, and turned and ran. That couldn't be true, what they ate was...human!?

Fleet watched blissfully as the dragon finally died, spreading his arms to catch the final raindrops as they plopped onto his body.
His head was pulsing with every heartbeat and have apparently decided all of him hurt now. Still, he brought the radio somehow still attached to his hip, "Fleet h-here...my storm is over...we won..."
With his report done, he collapsed backward, dried blood caking his head and neck. Sleep was sounding pretty good right now...

“Roger Hope, Fleet.” Shepherd replied, “We can dispatch evac units to your location if you need assistance.” He reported over the com channel. “Any urgent medical needs?”
His tone was firm, down to business, but still carried an affinity for the other Rein member’s safety.

Bloodbath shielded his face as the tower came toppling down, feeling his connection to tendrils of blood breaking in an instant.
His power stretched out to take from dead bodies, slowly gathering his blood back. He paused as he spotted a body the blood was rushing from...Big Martin's torn body.
He blinked in disbelief, expecting it to be another horrible hallucination, but it stayed. He stumbled forward, leaning over the remains with a horribly blank face. His friend was dead.
Unexpectedly, his vision blurred with a wet feeling flowing down his face and his mouth was pulled down into a frown. This moment of emotion lasted only a second, but the heavy feeling never lifted as he exited the battlefield.

No answer would report to Shepherd, but Fleet's state wasn't the best. He almost certainly broke something and the blood coating him was dangerous.
His radio started letting out a chirp every now and then, leading to the collapsed man.

If counted correctly, this is the third time that HaLOS has to self-destruct its robotic unit in a fight. It was quite a waste, but there weren’t many other option that could bring down this whole building to the ground quicker. When the robotic unit got destroyed, it would leave less than a recognizable pile of junk behind without much way to rebuild them. HaLOS lost connection as soon as the unit got destroyed, so it doesn’t quite know if the unit get to its intended target before that happen.
“Switching command: activating reconnaissance drone.”
Near the location of the downtown area, HaLOS started to control a small flying unit and emerge out from the shadow. The drone equipped with a small gyro camera in order to observe the surrounding of downtown area. Seeing how the vines and spores started to fade to a whiter color, it could only assume that the dragon is dead. Scanning the nearby area of the building, it managed to find the four plasma blades that it threw out the window before charging straight into the dragon’s mouth, laying underneath some pack of spores.
“Retrieval complete; returning to base now.”
The drone reached out with a small clamp and grabbed hold of the four plasma blade handle and carried them back to Malachite Isle. While the drone returned back, HaLOS started to work on a new design of its robotic unit. More work needs to be done, and more resources are require to rebuilt the unit completely.

Azoth hadn’t seen where Geata had gone. It was unlikely she’d be able to track him in any kind of reasonable manner, given his tendency to disappear without a trace and appear likewise some distance away, so she hadn’t tried. Her efforts were focused on watching Toko’s back, meaning worry for Geata was in the back of her mind, but not backed up by any sensual data. This also meant (after the great relief of watching the dragon’s color beginning to drain, signifying their victory) when he fell out of the portal beside her, collapsing onto the ground asleep, she could feel the rush of all that built up worry at once and nearly choked on her saliva.
Azoth dropped down to his side, searching for the mortal wound that she was certain he had. It was only after making sure he had none, it was only exhaustion, she realized she had stopped breathing. She let out a long exhale. He would be fine, she just needed to get him somewhere safe, and probably a doctor. When her mind immediately went to ‘I’ll simply ask Geata for some transportation’, she found herself presented with the pressing dilemma. As much as she would like to take him back herself, she doubted she’d be strong enough to so much as lift him on a good day, let alone walk home after being thoroughly exhausted both physically and mentally by the dragon. Help would be necessary, and the only one she trusted enough, whom she also thought most likely to have the means, was Toko.
Geata was sleeping - dreaming, judging by the movements of his eyes. Azoth would not disturb him. She pressed her hand to her private com, hoping to get in contact with Toko, but something muttered from Geata made her hesitate. A soft smile came onto her face, and she took his hand in hers.
“Good job, Geata.” She whispered gently.
She turned on her com. “Toko, I require your assistance in regards to Geata. Could you meet me back at the rooftop we convened on earlier?”
She would wait for assurance Geata was safely in Toko’s care before telling him to go on ahead, requesting they convene at the estate later. She still had one more thing to take care of here.
Unhallow had rushed towards the dragon in its final moments, and had yet to emerge from the rubble. Her safety had yet to be confirmed, and so she would confirm it herself. Azoth found her way down from the rooftop and made her way towards what of the fallen tower hadn’t been sucked into Aurora’s aurora.
It was a relief when she began to notice effects of Unhallow’s powers. Azoth followed the familiar sensations, watching for where they grew stronger or weaker, until she was lead to Unhallow. When she saw her friend, trapped in a thicket of stone spikes, pierced and bloody, Azoth was hit with a brief dose of adrenaline.
“Unhallow!” She shouted, her voice cracking with force. The rush carried her approximately ten paces before her fatigue stepped in to stop her. She slowed to a halt, resting her hands on her knees, and breathed again, “Unhallow. One moment, I will aid.”
Thin slices appeared in all of the spikes surrounding or pinning Unhallow. Those that didn’t immediately fall away were sliced again, and a small cube of steel formed on the ground beside her. Those that had pierced Unhallow she was reluctant to destroy completely, in fear that freeing the blockage would increase blood loss.
Azoth remained several feet away from Unhallow, but even from here she could see she was hurt. How badly, she couldn’t fully discern, but medical aid was not something that could be put off. “Do you have means of contacting Sin Eater?” Azoth asked. She was not keen on greeting the other Keeper, but this was more important than any petty disagreements. “If you have her phone number, I can call her.”

Shaking her head at her partner, the little inferno returned her gaze to the dragon. Wrath cackled as she watched the blossom whiten through the flames. Oh had anyone ever seen such beauty? As the rocky blossom began to dissolve, the little flame doused her firenado. The fires that made the column beneath her before dying in a poof of smoke. Then as she was about to completely power down, she remembered that now the city lay in shambles. Which meant that her day job may have just gone up in flame. Along with her apartment. These thoughts kept enough flames writhing around her to maintain her sinful form.
"Pride! We need to find the others! Gluttony was going on about Envy and Lust while he went batshit."
She grabbed him by his suit sleeve and started dragging him in the direction she had seen her fellow sins go earlier. Once in the general area she yelled out for the duo.
"Lust! Envy! If you don't answer soon you better be passed the fuck out or I swear to god you'll be answering to me!"

Despite their own injuries the three agents managed to trek over to where Fleet was passed out. The fact the normally talkative Rein member wasn’t flapping his gums was probably a bad sign. Shepherd helped him up and hefting him over his right shoulder with Brooklyn’s help. He had a few cracked ribs himself and his left arm was injured rather visibly but the soldier helped the super off the battlefield. They’d catch an evac chopper outside the disaster zone soon.
“Mission complete. Rest easy soldier.” He muttered to the unconscious Fleet.

As she landed on the petals that helped stop her fall, Siren watched in disbelief as the dragon crumbled. They won. Oh thank god they won. The hooded super fell the short distance from where she landed and the ground before laughing out of sheer relief. She threw her head back with the force of her laughter. The action caused her hood to slide off and reveal her long pink braid. As her laughter died she scoured the area looking for Titan and the others. Someone was bound to be hurt.
Nearby a familiar light user was laying in the rubble. Sanduleak! She rushed over to him, dust falling from her with each step. Kneeling next to her fallen friend, she gently laid her head on his chest and listened. After a few moments of silence she heard his heart. She breathed a sigh of relief. He was hurt and unconscious but he was alive. Now she just had to get him out of here.

Just like that, it was over. Spores became ashes, the dead returned to their graves, the towering bulk of the Dragon and its host building collapsed. Mid-charge, Rainfall skidded to a halt, glancing rapidly around her, not quite certain that this wasn't some hallucination created by the enemy. When the visions failed to dissipate, however, she slowly lowered her shotgun. This was real. They'd really done it.
She let out a long, deep breath, utterly relieved.
For a moment, she just planted her feet and stood there, letting herself finally relax a little, calming her racing heart and mind. Then exerted her power, managing logistics, taking stock of all her equipment. Once she'd checked all of her guns, she moved on to Rein's. Whether they ended up as allies or enemies in the coming days, she'd need to remember the weapons they used.
Her job wasn't done just yet, however. Once she'd had a minute to recover from the shock of it all, she set her jaw and began to walk, heading towards the fallen Horizons building. As she reached the edges of its ruins, her stride turned to a climb, as she ascended the pile of rubble, quick and agile, making her way to its highest point. Then sat down.
From up high, she watched over the battlefield, bright eyes glaring out from beneath the shadow of her wide-brimmed hat. Fallen and wounded supers were everywhere, left in a uniquely vulnerable position- but if anyone, super or otherwise, tried to mess with the injured defenders, they'd have a bullet in them before they could so much as blink. Heroes or villains, they'd all fought together, and Rainfall would not let any further harm be done today.

The dragon was dead; the sign was quite recognizable when she saw the vines and the spores around her started to change color. Her attempt in stopping the spores coming down to the street was proven to be for nothing, but seems that it’s no longer matter. The feeling of those spores falling down all around her make her feels like she’s in an aftermath of the volcano eruption from the horrible devastation the dragon left behind. She removed the failing webbing as she wiped away the blood from her nose. Jessica slowly landed on her shoulder:
“Whew, that was quite a close one, but at least we don’t have to worry about that stupid dragon’s voice in your head anymore.”
Poppet looked exhausted from all of this; she just want to go back and collapse on her bed. She doesn’t even care if she has to sleep in the Sanctum room, all she want is to have a place to nap right now. She was about to walk back to her brother when she hear someone’s voice close by. With some effort of locating the source of the voice, she managed to find a pile of rubble blocking a door.
“E-Excuse me,” she softly called out, “i-is there someone in there?”
She didn’t quite hear a response, only the sound of sobbing can be heard beyond the blocked door. From the sound of the crying, she could guess it’s a teenager boy. Either he was once the victim of the dragon’s influent or someone who didn’t managed to get out in time.
“H-Hang on, w-we’ll get you out of there.”
Pulling on her strings, she pulled away the rubble in front of her and removed the obstacle out of the way. Opening the door, she can see the teenager coiling in the corner with his clothe almost torn to pieces with some scratch on him.
“Well hello there,” Jessica flew pass the door, “Don’t be afraid, we’re here to…”
The doll didn’t have enough time to finish its sentence when the teen cry out in terror and pushed pass Poppet, knocking her on the ground as he ran screaming. Poppet slowly pulled herself together as Jessica flew out, cursing the teen like a drunken sailor:
“The nerve on the guy, even after we decided to safe his sorry ass and that’s how he treated us.”
“I-It’s quite alright, Jess,” Poppet quietly dusted off the spores on her skirt, “at least he’s safe now, that’s all that matter.”
Once she finished cleaning herself up, Poppet started to make her way to where Solomon was. As soon as she was close enough to him, she began to feel light-headed. Her whole body just feels like they weight a ton before she felt her consciousness fade away. Jessica simply fell right on the ground next to her, while Poppet fainted right in front of her big brother from the exhaustion.

"Envy?"
Everything was grey. A dull monochrome flecked with specks of different shades, a great big television screen receiving no signal other the faintest of rays from beyond the atmosphere. Lust blinked, and small flecks of ash caught on her lashes. Irritating. The annoyance brought with it more awareness, and she began to hear a dull roaring in her ears, the sound of something loud and close but incredibly distant at the same time.
She tried to move her head, only for a wave of dizziness to sweep over her. Was it pain, or pleasure that she felt so strongly now? Lust wasn't sure she could distinguish between the two any longer.
The grey world was boring, though. It made her want to do something, to do someone, to do anything but lie there with ashes falling on her. She was lying down, she realized. The grey sheet was the sky, the last remains of the dragon quietly drifting down to earth as light, grey snow.
Had they finally gotten rid of that disgusting thing? She ought to tell Envy... where was Envy? Someone was calling, calling for them...
Lust lurched off the ground, sitting upright and gazing about, bewildered. In just a few moments, the whole of downtown had changed. It wasn't back to the way it had been, but it felt peaceful. Quiet. She felt like quiet right now, felt like finding a warm body and curling up against it and falling asleep on a bed of warm skin, letting herself drift away into soft pink dreams until the sun came up the next day. She couldn't feel anyone against her, however, and couldn't see anybody within arm's reach.
Groggily, she tore off the sweater Limen had given her, tossing it aside. There was no need to worry about parasites now, and she needed someone to cling to. The voice reached her ears again, and she recognized it this time. Wrath, another one of the Sins, sounding angry as ever. Lust couldn't help but wonder for a moment who would be on top, when the fiery redhead and Pride finally got a room together...
"I'm here!" she called, gently inviting. Her power was waning after all that excitement, she needed to get out of here fast. "First one to come and save me gets a treat." She spoke loudly, hoping the other Sins would catch her words. Envy hadn't responded to Wrath's first shout, but surely she'd come when Lust called?

Post by Unhallow on Oct 22, 2016 19:30:42 GMT -7
The spikes were quickly filling the room, squeezing her against the roots further. Unhallow heard several of her bones crack as the room filled, and it was getting increasingly hard to breathe. That was only made worse when she was pretty sure one of her ribs punctured one of her lungs. The worst part was she couldn't even tell how much damage she was doing or if she'd be able to get out of this because of the nature of the dragon. Unhallow closed her eyes, trying to stop the stream of tears flowing down her face, when everything suddenly stopped. She could finally see again. The spikes stopped expanding, though they didn't remove themselves from her gut and limbs. She kept her eyes closed, but continued to look around with her power. The infinite spirals were suddenly stone, and they were no longer pushing against her. It meant she didn't have to worry about being crushed anymore, but she was still bleeding badly. Just as the dragon's color faded from it, the color was quickly fading from Unhallow's face. Weakly, she started trying to push her way out of the remains of the spikes, hoping that her power would eventually weaken them enough that she'd be able to break them.
By the time Azoth arrived, she was as pale as a sheet and she hadn't made any progress in getting herself out. Unhallow's eyes were closed. Her normal vision was so blurry that it was just easier to see with them shut, but with how light-headed she was starting to feel it was difficult to make things out even with her super senses. Azoth's voice was nothing but a muffled echo to her ears, but her super senses could make out the shape of the vibrations well enough. Enough of the spikes were destroyed that she was freed from where she was, but she couldn't move well enough to make use of this. One of her legs was completely crushed already, and the other wasn't in much better shape. Once the spikes were no longer holding her up she collapsed on the floor. While most of the spikes lost all their color like the rest of the dragon, the ones that pierced through Unhallow still looked like they had color.
"She's just outside," Unhallow said weakly. "Might be dead again, I'm not sure. But, she should be able to see me once she wakes up. I'll just...try to let her know I'm here. We have a signal..."
It wouldn't be very strong. Her heart rate was slow, which meant her power would be weak. It would take a little while before she could give Sin Eater a noticeable headache. It was especially difficult because Unhallow was bleeding badly enough that she wasn't even sure how much longer she'd be able to stay awake. She wasn't afraid despite that. She had no doubt that Sin Eater would come to help her as soon as she was able.

The dragon fell, as sentimental and inefficient as these people were there were at least enough of them that it would be difficult for even something as powerful as a dragon to fight them all off if they attacked at once. Seraphim wasn't sure how long that would last as they kept dying, but for now, it looked liked she didn't have anything to worry about. There was further work to be done, but before doing that she thought on the dragon's last thoughts for a moment. She'd fought many dragons, but had never been able to make much sense of their thoughts. Unfortunately, this one wasn't any different. She filed the information away and prepared for the next step.
Someone else already announced the defeat of the dragon over the radio, so she didn't feel any need to repeat it. Seraphim had no attachment to her leadership position, and she was certain the people that gave it to her didn't expect much from it either. She put away her weapons and started to prepare for the next phase of battle. The dragon's death was only the first part of the fight for her, there was much that needed to be done after. It would be easy enough to infiltrate the police to make sure that only the right people, mostly people in Rein, handled the aftermath and cleanup of the area until most of the evidence of the dragon and the extent of the damage was cleaned up. It had to be downplayed, no one could know what dragons were doing. Next was to make sure the media was doing their part. She was less worried about that part given how cooperative they'd been so far. This time, she was going to have to watch the video the independent group produced to see how easy it would be to get people to dismiss it as fake. Given how little footage they got, she didn't think it'd be too difficult, but it was a wildcard and another thing she had to deal with. Her disguise kit and numerous social media accounts were going to see much use over the next few days.
"I'm heading back to HQ," she addressed everyone in Rein much more. "Cordon off the area, don't let anyone besides the supers in or out. Use lethal force if necessary."
