Hello everyone, it's officially a new month and that means a new update and a new newspaper! The activity check has concluded and accounts have been cleaned. Accounts that didn't have an accepted character AND hadn't logged in for the entirety of the month of June have been deleted. Feel free to reregister it if it was one of yours. Accounts that didn't respond to the activity check and thus weren't on the list, have been inactivated and their profiles archived. If I accidentally inactivated your account please PM me Kitten4u to get reactivated. The census has been updated as well and should reflect the amount of active characters we have now. The openings INJURE and CAPTURE have been changed. INJURE now makes it so your opponents will have a tougher time suppressing powers, will make it so you have an easier time suppressing theirs, and will make it so they always go last in the resolution order. CAPTURE makes it so that target will no longer contribute combat advantage to the scheme. For the full details behind the new versions, see the Battle Rules thread. There's a new trait called Synergy. Much like Teamwork, it's bought with another character, but this one will increase the levels of your immunities. For the full description see the Shop. Everyone should have gotten their prestige awards. If you don't think you have, PM a staff member and we'll try to sort it out.

THE EMERALD CITY HERALD July 1st, 2016 Supers Section
GANG WAR BREWING
On the night of the 21st, police responded to multiple calls made by neighbors about a disturbance in a home on the south side of the city. Upon arriving, the police found the emptied remains of a drug den and evidence of a superpowered fight. Multiple analysts have speculated that this may be the latest in a string of incidents of superpowered gang violence... (See GANGS, B4) | ATTACK REVEALED AS "GAME"
Downtown residents feared for their lives earlier this month as their homes and businesses were the site of a large-scale battle between over half a dozen supers. A press release by city officials has confirmed that the attack's sole motivation was that Pandaemonium supers wished to stage a contest amongst themselves, which has prompted a flood of outraged... (See GAME, B2) | CITY HALL VANDALIZED
The municipal government has yet to fully recover in the aftermath of an attack by several supers on city hall. Inside sources report that the attack was aimless and without any clear objective aside from causing chaos, likely a response by disgruntled supers against increasing support for super control measures. An interim city hall has been established at... (See CITY HALL, B3) | MARKET CATASTROPHE
The loss of the day's catch was not the greatest consequence of the superpowered attack on Emerald City's historical Central Market earlier this month. Vendors report that business has yet to recover after the swarm of cats led by the presumed super Big Martin took virtually every fish in the area. Although none of the shoppers were seriously injured, the fear of a future attack... (See CATASTROPHE, B5) | ZOO STOCK RELOCATED
Following a super attack on the city zoo which led to the release of over a dozen large predators, the zoo's management has reported that they will be re-evaluating which animals can be safely kept in a place as prone to unrest as Emerald City. The move has seen some opposition from critics who oppose on principle the idea of "super-proofing" as a replacement for increased security... (See ZOO, B5) | BURR INSURANCE GROUP

Note: coverage invalidated by certain superpowers, offers subject to change without notice. | OAKWOOD PLAZA CONDEMNED
An attack by Pandaemonium vandals has rendered Oakwood Plaza unsuitable for human habitation, according to city officials. With the aid of superpowers, the area was saturated in red paint, in many cases so forcefully that the underlying utilities infrastructure was damaged beyond feasible repair. Some squatters have refused to move out, resulting in the newly-dubbed 'Redwood Plaza' becoming... (See CONDEMNATION, B3) | PROPERTY VALUES PLUMMET
The spreading territory of the super gang Pandaemonium has begun to encroach beyond the historically impoverished south side of Emerald City. Homeowners in the expected path of the gang's spread have been desperately selling at lower and lower prices, while overwhelming demand for houses and apartments on the safer north side of the city has made it impossible for less wealthy buyers to... (See HOMES, B5) | ECPD CALLS FOR AID
In the wake of the unprovoked massacre earlier this month of several police officers by a lone super, the Emerald City Police Department has called for help from neighboring jurisdictions. This call is already being answered in force, with over a hundred officers arriving from afar to boost the department above its levels before the tragedy. Each of the officers volunteered to the as-yet-indefinite... (See AID, B4) | TRAIN DELAYED BY SUPERS
Dozens of train schedules required adjustment on the evening of the 16th as a cargo train was waylaid by attacking supers. Those nearby reported explosions and other sounds of fighting, but before law enforcement could respond, the train once again set off toward its destination. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the train may have been saved by members of Pandaemonium, as the cargo may have consisted of weaponry for... (See DELAY, B5) | CONFERENCE TERRORIZED
A scientific seminar on the subject of how to deal with the super problem was itself crashed by supers, causing many of the attendees to fear for their lives. Fortunately, the event's security detail was able to drive off the attackers before anyone could be seriously harmed. Plans are already underway for a second seminar to pick up where the first left off, presumably somewhere far from Emerald City's high concentration of... (See SEMINAR, B4) | JAILBREAK THWARTED
Attempts by members of the criminal super organization Pandaemonium to stage a jailbreak from Malachite Isle Penitentiary were thwarted when a rival group of supers arrived on the scene to do battle. It is unknown whether the super opposition to the villainous plot was intended to stop the jailbreak or whether it was simply a case of supers stumbling upon each other by chance, but regardless the help was welcome...
