Shane floated along the water, keeping a relaxed pace as he ran the thought over in his mind. Water proof feathers for angels.
"Sooooooooooo...what you're saying is you'd have duck wings?"
The straight face for his thought had lasted a second before he burst out laughing at the images he imagined.

Kasey halts mid-step, barely preventing herself from inhaling water as she snorts, shaking her head and instead turning to send a small wave of water at Shane with a motion of her hand. She ducks under the water in hopes of shaking off any immediate retaliation, popping up a few feet away.
"I'm a swan, thank you. Graceful and glorious."

Shane, on the other hand, got a mouthful and was coughing it up as he laughed and attempted to splash her back. Totally worth it coughing and missing as she dodged.
"You're a quack miss James don't deny it, look ya even Ducked out of the way of my splash, next you will chase after bread. It's your angelic duck like destiny."
While in the middle of his little tirade, a wave had somehow snuck up on and crashed into the laughing punster, sending him sprawling and floating on his back. Ow...that wasn't worth it.

"Never," Kasey vows, but the serious expression is ruined as she cracks u at the idea of chasing bread crumbs. Her fingers lace together as she covers her mouth, but it doesn't stifle the sound. When even the ocean is on her side, she lets the sound run free, grasping her sides with her arms both to hold herself up and try and keep the pain of her sore ribs in check.
"See? Even the ocean agrees with me." And like the majestic namesake she'd chosen, Kasey lays her hands out to the water, her palms resting on teh surface as the wave breaks around her, bright smile on her face.

"It didn't have to punch me"
Shane groaned as he let the tide carry his floating self over to her side, happy to lie still for a few moments as he caught his breath. Though his shirt had slid up a bit revealing some purple bruises blotching at least left side of his waist. The uncovered spot remained unnoticed as he floated up and down, laughing and coughing a bit of water out.

"it's enthusiastic." She chuckles, but the sound dies in her throat at the sight of the bruising. Why, she wasn't sure. Kasey didn't know Shane much, but he didn't strike her as the type ot physically push himself, but she had no ideas about anything that could lead to that kind of punishment outside his work. But it was distinctly a bruise, she'd had and seen enough to know what they looked like. Heck, she still had one on her thigh from where she'd taken a bad fall a while ago, and mostly healed cuts. This looked like what happened before then.
But he's still sputtering and laughing like it's not big deal, like the pain is worth it, or just that he doesn't want her to know about. She decides not to pry while still in the water, flicking her fingers at him so that little droplets land on Shane's face.
"Guess we better decide if that makes me your angel or your doom."

"Now call me crazy, but I think I'd prefer angel cause ya know life plus it fits ya more."
Shane responded with a nod before flipping over so he could float straight up in the water and splash her in the face with a small grin.
"And that is payback."
The bruise didn't hurt much, well that one didn't it was the rest that were being pains for him but he was enjoying this time too much to let them stop him. Long as he had on his shirt, she wouldn't notice and he wouldn't have to attempt to explain. How would he? Say an arcade cabinet fell on him...that...probably wouldn't work actually.

"Well then, Mr. Cra--" Kasey sputters as the water splashes her face and into her mouth. Her shoulders shake as she coughs and clears her throat. Payback, indeed.
"Yes, yes it is." She had to give credit where it was due. "Well timed payback, too." She pokes his shoulder playfully, a light touch rather than a jab that nudges him a bit to the side. She ducks under the water, but doesn't immediately come up until she's on his other side. Much as she wants to go full on swimmng, she doesn't know if Shane could keep up. That was okay; the company was more enjoyable, anyway.

"I do have a knack for timing, it's a comedian's best trait."
Shane chuckled as she dove before popping up on his other side, with a smirk he dove under her and mimicked the gesture as he popped up beside her.
"See if it makes ya feel any better we're a pair of ducks just floating along and diving.
Thankfully lazily floating wasn't straining him too much, he was sure if she went full on that drowning risk was an actual possibility. So he was happy she just relaxed beside him, shooting the occasional joke and splash of water.

"I've noticed." Content to just relax for the moment, Kasey turns at the sound of the familiar voice, shaking her head.
"So what you're saying is, all we're lacking is bread crumbs."

"Bread where?"
Shane's head shot up lightly as he looked around around in false excitement for the drop before lowering it in slight disappointment.
"Donut kid about bread around me."
He snickered a bit as his horrible pun as usual.

Kasey snorts and sends another small wave his way, shoving her hand in his direction.
"That was horrible and you know it." Still lighthearted, but less laughter. Even Kasey has pun limits, though she was certainly enjoying herself.

"Alright alright, but you know the loaf them."
Shane had already turned to dodge the wave and send a small splash back with a grin.
"That was the last one I promise."
And he'd keep that promise...for about ten minutes at max.

Kasey plants her hands on her hips and raises a brow at Shane with a wry smile, another flicker of pain dancing across her face as she lowered her arms back to her side with a soft tsk instead.
"I'm going to hold you to that, you know."

"And what'll happen if I accidentally break this oath?"
Shane asked with false before raising a brow in actual concern as he caught the flicker. Biting a lip he wondered if he should bring it up, but she seemed to not want him to know plus he had his own things he sure as hell wasn't talking about.
"Hey uh you alright?"
Thanks mouth for waiting for brain to consider options and what would be polite.
