Shane unconsciously mimicked the gesture, with a gesture of distaste appearing on his face as he pulls his hand, hating the coarse feeling it now had. He began to search for his own footwear before jumping a bit in shock when she mentioned those, jeez this was becoming much too stressful for the skeleton's weak heart.
"You uh saw em huh? Damn thought for sure the blinding skin would make ya turn away if my shirt moved up...oooooooor maybe you were just checking me out and got lucky?"
That a joke was a massive defense mechanism but he knew a slap would be worth it...Actually that slap might kill hrm really needed to think plans like this through more.

"Mhmmm." Kasey nods, squats down and picks up her bag before rising to her feet again. She gives Shane another, more cautious look.
Then she thwaks him on the shoulder with one of her hands.
"You sure you're okay, though? Seriously."

Shane laughed instead of going ow when he was thwacked yup totally worth it as long she hit an arm. He smiledd bit gently as he nodded.
"Yeah I had someone look after me slightly afterwards, she was kinda cute well I think she was kinda cute hard to see with uh ma-fog from hitting my head hard enough."
Damn hitting the head part was true enough and those damn injuries were making it quite difficult to lie comfortably to her.

"Hope you got the name of that angel. Sounds like she worked overtime." Kasey eyes Shane as she speaks, words coming out slow and deliberate with the observation. It was difficult to miss his next slip up, but she doesn't point it out. Instead, she gestures for him to join her as she walks away from the more crowded beach. Quieter, yes, but still in sight if something unfortunate happened.

"Well it was a bit before I asked, more concerned bout my own health, but I did, I am kinda sort of a gentlemen."
Shane smiled before standing up to follow her, curious as to where they would go but not minding long as the crowd wasn't around. It kinda made things in easier and less annoying in his opinion.

"I have noticed this, yes." Content to walk for now, Kasey just heads in a general direction that would end up being the scenic route back towards the general population when they wanted to go back.
"I'm sure she was concerned, too, especially if you were close to drowning." She glances back at Shane with a smile. "You must be pretty lucky, huh?"

"Right lucky, I think if I was lucky I wouldn't end in constantly painful situations"
Shane murmured while glancing back with a small grin on his own face, it seemed things were relaxing at least a little bit.
"But yes I'm thankful I've at least met a few caring people, especially when they're needed"
It was only a few moments before Shane began to burst out laughing, oh man that's too rich, the coiencdences hahaha.
"She wasn't a duck angel but still had a fowl persona while lacking a foul personality."

"Was it luck that had you nearly drown last time?" She turns so that she's walking backward, pace slowed as she tilts her head slightly to look up at him. "Friends are good to have. I'm sure she'd agree."
Her eyes narrow at his last comment, trying to decide if there's a pun in there and ultimately deciding three is.
So she kicks off one of her flipflops at him instead of throwing it. Less warning that way.
"How so?" So innocent, that voice. Like she didn't just kick-throw a sandal at him or anything. Things had already started to raise red flags with her, but they were casual things, little slips that were surely only coincidence.

"I plead the fifth on luck causing me to drown, but- ack"
Shane barely dodged the aggressive lazy foot wear tossed at him, a bit thankful it hadn't been thrown. He kinda deserved it for the bird joke he guessed. But least they were relaxed and he could talk without fear of being caught, considering two people only knew the story and he was one of them.
"Gave me a place to stay and relax at, when I was in a not so friendly neighborhood...wouldn't give it five stars but when you felt like I did, you make do and take a nap."

Shane is rewarded with the fact that Kasey hops on her sandal-bearing foot to go retrieve its companion. The coffee mug on her shirt does a little hop along with her, but she doesn't ask for help and her balance doesn't falter, though it takes a moment because flip flops are horrible for being anything other than colorful fly swatters.
"Huh. You don't say." She finds the sandal and jams her foot back into it, a frown on her face as she pauses once it's on. A place to stay, not so friendly neighborhood. The wording of Davy Jones, not five stars, angel. The garbled sentences where he hastily corrected himself, and her letting it slide because...what? Because she didn't pry. That meant letting people pry in return, and that was rare for Kasey. Fluff was great, but people tended to either get uncomfortable with heavy conversation. Still, there was the neck rubbing, too. And puns. The other guy had definitely used them.
She turns but stays behind, turning to face him but not moving to catch up or say anything. Not yet, anyway.

Shane held back a snicker, in place of being slightly impressed at her balance as he gets her missing flop back...don't make a flop pun or she'll hit you with one Shane...don't do it...After the slight internal argument finished, he followed after her though felt a bit uncomfortable as she quieted once again. If there's one lesson he actually learned from his dad it was that a quiet women is easily the scariest thing.
"Yeah but I still appreciated it and, cause ya know wasn't in the mood to move or complain."

"It's probably a good thing she used a branch, then." She starts walking towards Shane again, and for a brief second, the lilt that his previous rescuer spoke in could be heard.

Shane actually visibly jumped a bit with a groan, in shock and slight curiosity as he heard the familiar voice. No no no, that was just a coincidence, noooooooooooo way his luck was gonna be this bad right.
"Yeah r-right, otherwise I may have dragged us both down."
Just stay calm Shane...very...calm.

Kasey's grin widens a fraction as Shane jumps, though it could also be the fact that's in a better mood...for some reason.
"Sounds like you owe her a great deal. I'm sure she was gracious about it, though, especially if she had some way of helping you out in a bad neighborhood. Probably had something to make sure it was still safe."

"Yeah of course I offered her some favors and stuff, I'm not someone who'd go back on their word like that."
Shane had calmed down but was still feeling a bit on edge, she was pushing a few buttons but it was hard to tell if it was his luck or if she knew something...that grin was definitely hard to red.
